My favourite pub in the area good beer great Sunday carvery, great gardens. So apprehensive about a curry night as always thought restaurant's best for this type of food however a chef coming in Tuesday/ Saturday s specialising in this food so let’s give it a go even though expensive compared to average restaurants. So ordering staff not sure if cash only as outside catering using kitchen? Food arrives clumpy rice , tasteless dangerously low temperature obviously reheated. shredded chicken in a bland sauce again reheated, garlic naan no comment. Will leave it there AVOId if you like curry

Excellent food.However we went to steak night for the first time. Spoke to the young ladies at the bar...told them we had booked.They told us to take our table. We had a drink and waited but we're not advised that we had to order at the bar..Apart from that excellent night.

Proper traditional community pub

I have not been in the pub i visited the village market held once a month on the car park which is excellent allp local products and i would give the market 5 stars

Obviously more of a 'locals' pub, rather than welcoming visitors. Felt a bit like we were an inconvenience which is a shame because it looks like a nice place.

Went to the Bell inn and met some old friends 👍😀had a lovely few cold scoops 🍺🍺🍺the staff and locals were very friendly and helpful loved it 👍👍I will be Back 😀🙄👍

Always make us welcome. Visit every two years when we visit friends from the village on our narrow boat.

Small bar took a while to be served

Utterly appalling service. Stood there in front of two bar staff who completely ignored us and served others who came in afterwards. Clearly a very cliquey establishment who only recognise those from the village. Passing trade? Forget it!

We were staying in Whittington and went to the bell for a Sunday Carvery! It was fabulous .great pub and they have a large beer garden too.I went the Saturday night and they had music

This is a proper local pub. There is a carpark but it gets busy and you may need to park offsite. It is small but cosy. The service was lovely and very helpful, but they were very quiet when we visited. Speed of service was adequate. Menu and prices were decent. Several items were not available but enough choice remained. Portions were adequate but not big. Would happily return

We were visiting from New York with My family ! I am originally from Lichfield And visiting for a wedding .The Bell was warm and inviting everyone was extremely friendly Evan when my Daughter asked for weird Drinks !A Band was playing on the Saturday night they were fantastic .Sunday we went back for Sunday Lunch which was a carvery .Well worth the money .Food was Hot .Tasty and made me Happy to be Home .Also Had a Beer Garden at the back like to come Back in the Summer.Thank you

Had Sunday Lunch with friends, excellent food and generous portions. Staff helpful and friendly creating a good atmosphere, will definitely visit again.

Lovely carvery, plenty of meat and vegetables. Nice country pub, all staff friendly and a nice atmosphere. Nice in the summer to pop in for a drink and sit in the garden after a walk along the canal.

We were a little disappointed, having seen the great ratings. I assume that they may have been short staffed on the day we visited, as the service was very slow, with not many people there. They did apologise and said that a table of 6 had just arrived so there may be a 20 minute wait for food. We ordered and the food arrived 50 minutes later. I think there may have been unforeseen issues on the day. The quality was ok.

Great pub always visit when I'm in the area on a coarse,great service staff and locals friendly and welcoming.yet too try the food but will on my next visit.im hoping I can get them to do chicken parmo and chips a tesside staple lol.

Good pub with excellent beer and good atmosphere, food was fairly limited and service was a little lacking only one barmaid and one chef on service and we're a group of 10

Higgledy piggledy local pub, not trying to impress, just to meet locals needs, which it does very well. Helpful bar staff, decent food and a quicky pub garden as well as traditional pub rooms and atmosphere

Good food and atmosphere. Those who serve are very young people and they need to wake up a little.

Been a few times to the bell for Sunday lunch, first class carvery, staff are friendly and helpful, always busy so you do need to book and also that the carvery is on as sometimes they do a BBQ if the weather is good.

Lovely Sunday roast. Lovely and hot and fresh. Nice atmosphere. Nice traditional pub. Music in background good too, from era i like. Too many pubs have rappy loud unintelligible music that isn't conducive to relaxing. 80s music best in my opinion. Definitely recommend, this fun local pub.

Stopped here for lunch just a sandwich, but the best we have had for a long time. Sat in the garden it was blissful, but we are old and little things just!!!!!!

Great 'country' pub, lots of real ales (+ real characters in the locals there!).

Have been coming to this pub over a few years and always found it great. Although recently the children's play area has left me concerned and not wanting to allow my child to play. There's many broken bikes and other toys with sharp metal edges where the handles have come off. There's lots of nettles around the base of the climbing area which is quite unsafe. The play areas used to be a wonderful asset to the pub but recently they have been left to deoteriate and become unsafe. Not sure how much it is risk assessed really. Shame as it really is a wonderful pub otherwise.

One of the highlights of visiting my son who lives in the village is coming to the Bell Inn. I'm not a massive drinker but manage to visit 3 times in a weekend. Atmosphere is great and the locals all make you feel welcome. On a sunny day its great to sit in the garden which is huge. Cant wait to visit again.

This is a proper pub a credit to the village.

We went on a Sunday lunch time. We understood that they had carvery on but we only wanted a light lunch. The staff said they could make us a cob each. When they came they were full of meat and fresh salad and were very tasty and very good value for money. All the staff were pleasant and approachable and were very accommodating when they could have said its just carvery today. I would definitely recommend this pub to anyone.

A quiet, pleasant local village pub was the first time back in 25 years, and I wasn't disappointed a nice refreshing beer after a stroll round the local area with friendly locals and bar staff

Food very poor and not cooked and cold in my opinion and got a full refund. I feel the pub was over crowded and as it was mother's day it was a very disappointing and I don't recommend there carvery if I could leave no stars I would

Great beer, good prices, great atmosphere. Just know the kitchen is only open after 6pm, except for Sundays when there is a carvery.

Proper pub with great beer and friendly people! Food isn't gastro, but fits perfectly with the pub. Sunday carvery is excellent and the Summer BBQs are great too.

A pub not to be missed, a lovely atmosphere, fantastic, and attentive staff. Sunday lunch is a carvery that is a home cooked and delicious. A good selection of beers and ales very dog friendly for walkers too, a must visit.

The best "real" village pub we've ever been to ! The beer garden is amazing - big, but cozy and quirky, and usually full of local families. The owners and staff are friendly. 10/10.

The Bell Inn Whittington is great...great Atmos .plus Jan and Paul have a music night on tge 2nd and 4th mondays of each month the staff are friendly ... really enjoyed the evening .. Once again the Bell at whittington was Grand.. A great evening for 🎶 🎶 🎵 Music Lovers

My first time here for a Sunday lunch and wow was it delicious! (Must take a photo next time) we had honeycomb cheesecake for after, omg it was amazing service quick and very pleasant. Young lady who works on a Sunday cleaned the tables immaculately lovely to speak to. Try the ale called Neck Oil it's really nice. They had a large paddling pool there Sunday for the kids.

Great village pub. Lovely landlady, good food, great beer and a great garden for kids in the summer. My adult daughters wished they had found this place 10 years earlier.

A lovely little pub, dog friendly and really nice staff. It has a good selection of beers, is cosy indoors and has a big garden with plenty of covered seating areas.

Very poor menu....burgers or gammon is the main theme. Not particularly well cooked. No staff behind the bar when we tried to pay. Didn't feel the atmosphere that is raved about on other posts. Very disappointed.

Qaint pub . Kiddy friendly .large child friendly garden. Lovely staff and locals ... Parking . and food looked great 👍 cheap beers and ales .. no peaky blinders. .. not far from canale .. ramblers you must stop for that top up . Food not available between 3 and 6 I believe .

Couldn't feel more comfortable at this pub. Staff fitted us in at the last minute when it come to booking a table for a carvery. Staff were nice and couldn't do enough for you. Food was lovely. Only thing is I couldn't go back for more as 1) we needed to be off the table and 2) I didn't know if we were allowed more. Apart from that it was a nice little pub. Thank you so much. Sean

The pub was packed. Good atmosphere and we managed to get some bar stools. Great ales poured just right at the bar.

Love this pub, great selection of drinks, lovely old building with a really good and decent sized rear garden. The staff we came acrosswere efficient and friendly, will definitely be calling in here again when passing.

This is a little village pub. We saw it did food and we weren't expecting great quality. How wrong we were! The food was amazing and all beautifully cooked. We had lamb; steak and gammon dinners and they were delicious. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our server Rihanne was excellent. Great value for money and fantastic food.

Lovely garden and friendly Boss

Lovely beer garden. Picnic benches very low and uncomfortable to sit on. One waitress very nice. Bloke and lady on the bbq friendly and helpful. Younger one seems pretty resentful at being there.
