Lovely decorated, staff are really friendly, food was really nice. Loved that you can borrow a pair of glasses to read the menu from the stag on the wall. I will be revisiting.

Beautiful area for walking and then recommend this gem of a pub for excellent range of beers & drinks (my pint of blonde ale was top notch, well kept and well poured) The food I had was excellent also. A really tasty vegetarian cottage pie that was well seasoned which makes a great change for veggie food and the cheesecake was delicious! My dog thoroughly enjoyed the chicken dinner too 🐶😊 The staff and the locals are all very friendly and attentive. There is a marquee at the rear which is an excellent space for private functions. There will be a new kitchen extension built soon to provide extra capacity for the private functions. Highly recommend this pub.

This pub is situated in Upper Longden, not far from Lichfield, but is well worth the extra few miles to it seek out. Nestled in the centre of a lovely village, it has the character and charm of a by gone age. There is a car park with disabled spaces. As you step in, you are greeted by qwerty features, beams and a well presented pub. It is clean, tidy and well decorated, with added pumpkin touches. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. We were shown to a table in a lovely area, not large, but in keeping with the size of the building. The menu was new total, but that did not hinder the service. There was a wonderful selection of dishes that would cater to any tastes or requirements. Vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options were also available. Service was good, food well presented and tasted delicious. This is an excellent pub and I would definitely recommend you visit. Booking is probably recommended, especially in the evening. I can't wait to return.

Went here sometime last year with my partner who is vegan he was over the moon that roast dinner included vegan yorkies and vegan cauliflower cheese. We invited lots of his family to come on a few occasions, all travelling a long way, all vegan, all thrilled. So often, the vegan food just has elements missing so this was an amazing find. Went today with another vegan friend who lives in Asia. He drove an hour to come and had been fantasising about a full s7nday roast for months - but we were told that they didn't do vegan yorkies and never had! He took a different option but it was really disappointing. We can get a sunday lunch with missing elements anywhere so won't make a special journey again. A bit gutted as it was such a find. Also, despite 3 vegan options on The menu (great!) They have never had a plant milk for drinks. Loads of people can't have diary so this is a shame. My food was good and the service was fab as usual, just not the same unfortunately.

Absolutely a must place to visit the staff are so helpful and here's why. So we rocked up with our dog for a Sunday lunch, which I thought I'd booked via their online system, but me being me, I'd done something wrong, and it's my birthday. This is why I'm writing this because the staff went out of their way to move things around for us to enjoy such a fantastic lunch. The Beef came with all the trimmings with a rich beautiful gravy, the same as the lamb, and both meats were cooked perfectly. Again, the staff were very courteous and helpful all through our service so I can't thank these guys enough for making my birthday such a good day, thank you to all at Chetwynd Arms, see you again very soon.

The service was friendly and efficient, the vibe was homely and cosy, and there was a good selection on the menu. Women belind the bar very miserable. Argument about our booking even though we had it on our phone. Starter was fine Main course was sent back as the pie was dried out , extra pastry around inside edge of pie to reduce filling which seemed like thickened gravy never found pieces of meat. Very hot chips perhaps microwaved. Onion rings very very greasy, lots of batter but very little onion. Did not bother with desert or coffee as I had enough disappointment for one night. I even ordered a second glass of wine which never arrived. All in all I would never recommend this pub not even for a drink just totally lacking in atmosphere, having dined I understand why. It's only saving grace was a pleasant waitress who was so overworked for her wage.

So disappointing. The beef teriyaki salad was sadly lacking in any taste, just pieces of overcooked meat and it wasn’t possible to resurrect it as no dressing and the croutons tasted like recycled cold chips. The main course was better, but it’s difficult to make a mess of pizza. The waiting on staff was limited to one young lady, it wasn’t fair to have a go at her as she was trying to serve the whole restaurant on her own. We didn’t even bother looking at the dessert menu. We booked a table for 7pm on a Thursday evening. When I booked they only gave an option for 4 people. I just assumed that was the only option they gave. I did leave in the requirement section there was 2 adults and 3 children, my phone number was available if they needed to call me. When we arrived and i told the waitress we was a family of 5, we became an inconvenience. My youngest is 3 so I didn't see the problem. A man brought a bar chair though for us to use but looked really rude at us when he put it down. We ordered food for the children, a starter to share between myself and husband. We also ordered a chet smoked special with 3 sides, chips, mac n cheese and slaw. This was also to share. My problem was the lack of service. The young girl on was the only person serving during a full restaurant. As soon as she put the food down she was gone. I can't complain about her as she didn't stop but it was the lack of service that made the experience terrible. We had a starter and didn't get our cutlery changed, we asked for a side plate for our daughter and didn't get one, as we ordered a main to share some extra plates would have been nice but she didn't stick around long enough for us to ask. My son wanted ketchup but we wasn't asked. I ordered a slaw and got a side of gerkhins!!! We all needed another round of drinks but again the girl serving was running around back and forth. I don't know what I'm annoyed about the most, eating with my hands because I had no cutlery or paying £3 for gerkhins! Unfortunately that was a family celebration ruined. We won't be returning. Hopefully the feedback will be taken on board and more staff recruited.

After seeing such good reviews, we were looking forward to our meal. However I can honestly say it was one of the worst experiences I've had. I don't say that lightly as I understand it could have just been an off day. But it was very poor from the start. We booked for 7pm and when we arrived, no one acknowledged us and staff members walked past us 3 times before I had to ask to be seated. The Camembert wasn't fully melted and hard in the middle. The Chilli chicken portion was so small it seemed like a children portion. For £17.00 I was so shocked at how small it was. The ''Thai Salad" was just grated carrot with some sliced chilled red chilli. The egg fried rice was around two tablespoons full but it was inedible as it was burnt and hard. My partners burger was raw in the middle and had no taste. We had to leave most of it. We didn't bother with dessert as we knew it probably wouldn't be good and didn't want to waste any more money. The table next to us mentioned to the waitress that her slice of pie looked very small and another lady sent her fish pie back because it was cold. It may have just been an off day or low staff as other reviews are great, but we just did not have that experience and won't be returning.

The food here is terrible. I had the pie of the day, peppered steak. When the food finally arrived the portion size was minuscule, being about a 1.5 cm wide slice at its circumference. When I queried it with waitress, she confirmed it was a...

Portion size is terrible, we had pulled pork with crackling which was barely a ladle full and the crackling was black and solid to the point of being inedible! a honey bourbon pork belly which was very small and a margarita pizza which the base and crust was so hard you couldn't eat it....with the 2 pork mains you have to pay extra for sides we had not even half a handful of presumably frozen skin on fries and a small portion of Mac and cheese like a creme brulé size dish! All in all a pretty terrible meal ...will not be recommending.

We had a lovely Sunday dinner today as a family. The roasts are lovely. The owner saw that my daughters garlic bread was over cooked and immediately removed it and got a fresh one. The only feedback I would give is that 3 of us...

Went due to new owners. Food good but overpriced a Roast dinner £20 per person, would do better if the price included a dessert. Staff friendly and attentive.
