My wife and I had a quick meal of cod, chips and peas in the restaurant last night before going to the cinema. Only 2 other people in the restaurant but we had quite a wait before the meal arrived. First impressions were good but the meal had been served on cold plates so it quickly cooled and condensation turned the batter on the underside of the fish from crispy to soggy. My mushy peas were like soup and my wifeās were in a dish with a centimetre of water in it, presumably heated from frozen and not drained. We had a glass of wine and a bottle of Budweiser to go with the meal. Cost over Ā£50 for cold rubbery and soggy food. This place has really gone downhill

Amazing view. Al fresco dining with unsurpassed views from The Lizard. Always see a seal or two to put the icing on the cake. Have visted often and always have the vegetable lasagne - absolutely delicious. Others have had the burgers, fish and fish medley and am told the crab sandwich is very good. So sorry to hear it is closing this week. Hope whoever takes over doesn't try to change it too much. As it is, it offers great food at good price, lovely staff and has a reputation to support this with a location that cannot be beaten. It's family friendly, food is served swiftly and never disappoints - and who could want more whilst gazing over the blue Atlantic. Good luck to the present proprietors in their retirement.

Our first visit but wonāt be our last. We hadnāt booked but were seated straight away which was lucky as 15 minutes later they were queuing out of the door. Best fish & chips ever. Fresh, tasty and excellent portion sizes with added tea & bread and butter. Not had that in a fish restaurant for years, itās usually extra! Service was excellent too. Thank you for a very enjoyable Sunday afternoon treat š š¦š¬š¦šŖ¼š¦

Stayed here for two nights, mid week out of season so well priced. Barn conversion approx 200 yds from the pub. Nearly double when we stayed in October. Pub area has open fires and lots of dogs. Restaurant dog free šš» great service from a well trained team. Breakfast was excellent with fantastic coffee freshly ground. Dropped a star due to slight niggles in the room, window blind hook hanging off and rusty bath handle otherwise a lovely place. Loved the open fire in the barn. We would return if in Malham. Walks, Janetās foss waterfall then back via the famous cove. Even the weather was kind š„³

I was extremely shocked when I asked for a pot of hot water with my tea to be told I would have to pay Ā£1 for extra hot water (I donāt have milk as drink my tea black). I have been to lots of cafes and never been charged for extra hot water .. in fact in the majority of cafes you are given a pot without asking. The waitress was so apologetic and admitted she was embarrassed having to tell customers. I feel it is totally unnecessary and next time I visit Pooley Bridge Iāll take my custom elsewhere.
