If you’re looking for a taste of old-fashioned baking done right, Al’s Bakery is the place to go! Their cream cake is absolutely divine – light, creamy, and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. The carrot cake is just as impressive, moist with a hint of spice and topped with a rich, velvety frosting. You can tell they use quality ingredients. Al’s Bakery truly embodies the charm and quality of traditional baking. Highly recommend stopping by for a treat!

Proper old-fashioned tradtitional bakers. Excellent. The pack of 'mini rolls' is just right for a light lunch or tea-- just slap on the butter! yum

this bakery is no good for Scottish people as they will not accept Scottish money even though it is legal money in the whole of the UK, they are obviously not part of the UK.

This place sells the best cream cakes that I have ever tasted and I’ve tasted plenty. There is always a queue to get in, and it’s well worth traveling for.

Everything looked amazing and there was such a choice. It helped that my partner is called Al. Take away only so we sat on the wall at the beach front

Been going to this bakery for years on a Saturday as we live in Ramsgate the choice of extremely tasty cakes and cream cakes at very reasonable prices. * BELGIAN BUNS A ____MUST. [This is a bakery NOT some where you can sit in and have a meal]

This is how bakeries were - prior to Greggs. They have a great selection of tasty sandwiches, pastries, and cakes that would delight anyone. A terrific find in Deal for lunch on the go, then sit and eat on the seafront - much cheaper and satisfying than a restaurant.

There are always long queues at Al's Bakery. It always looked like a bakery from the 1970s to me. Lots of anaemic-looking white roles, and white loaves and buns. They also do rolls and sandwiches and pastries to takeaway for lunch, which is what draws the crowds I think. We succombed and bought baguette-type filled rolls for lunch. They were really just OK. My tuna and salad (what can go wrong with that) was OK, but nothing special. I guess it was reasonably priced, which may also attract people, but I won't be rushing back. It made me want top start a campaign to attract Gregg's to Deal. Al's is like a poor man's Gregg's.

I have been on the hunt for really tasty belgian buns since Greggs changed their recipe many years ago. Al's bakery has a great selection and the cakes tasted fantastic.

This bakery has to be my favourite bakery of all time. The mini baker's dozen rolls are soft and delicious and their cakes to die for. The rolls are well filled and tasty. I could happily spend every day here.

I absolutely loved this bakery in Deal. Such a wide range to choose from - loads of yummy sweet treats and savoury options. I particularly loved the sausage in pastry which was a proper sausage with tomato sauce in it, rather than the usual sausage rolls. Service was excellent and prices are really cheap. There was a queue forming outside and I can see why. People in Deal are so lucky to have this in their town!

All the delicious classics you could possibly want are on offer. The chelsea buns, millionaires shortbread and cheesy breakfast danish were heaven.

We visit Deal once a year on holiday and always make sure we make a visit to Al's Bakery. The cakes are a nice size and the pasties are lovely.

This is a fantastic pub! Light and bright, spacious and welcoming. The staff were so friendly and accommodating to us and our two dogs. We phoned ahead and requested to stay in their carpark overnight with our motorhome which is free of charge (this pub is on Brit Stops - all they ask is that you pop in for a drink and introduce yourself!). We both had a meal and stayed for drinks as they were in no hurry for us to leave at the end of the night. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. We would definitely recommend this pub - many thanks to Christian and his fab staff for such a warm reception. We will be back...

I went in for lunch and ordered the Gyros and a side of homemade coleslaw, the man serving was very friendly and chatty. The gyros itself was to die for and the coleslaw was so fresh and tasty. Sadly I was only in the area for work so may not get the chance to come again for a while but I highly recommend.

Service was ok, garden is big but lacks plants and that country pub feels to it. Massive TV screen was on with loads of locals shouting at horse racing
