The best restaurants serving British food in England

We had our choir Christmas meal here today. Decorated beautifully inside. Service quick and perfect. Food was amazing. Plenty of everything. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Very reasonable prices. Perfect.

Went with friends on the evening of Chester Races which may have been a tactical error. Starters were fine but one of our parties fish and chips wasn’t good at all. There was something wrong with the fish. However the problem was very well dealt with by the manager. Ultimately a disappointing meal but very good service.

Absolutely beautiful setting. The lodge is so well equipped and comfortable. I have been to Stonerush around 4 times and each time it just gets better. We were treated to a visit from a heron and 2 very playful squirrels!! Idyllic place to be and we never want to go home. The people are so friendly and the lodges are maintained to the highest standard. Can't wait to go back!! Cheryl, Steve & Max x

Really good food. I had the sirloin and my wife had the duck breast and it was delicious. Fast and efficient service (and a good recommendation) by our lovely waitress Jess.

Iv stopped here a few times now and it's a lovely little quiet pub. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The owner Steve is a great host. The room are very clean and comfortable. The pub offers fantastic food, all homemade and the breakfast is one of the best iv had in any hotel. If your looking for a nice quiet place to stop for a few night in Dorset you must stay here.
