Many years have passed since our last visit and this little gem was every bit as good as we remembered it. Good food at very reasonable prices and what a location. Take a walk along the beach and then nip up here for a treat.

Cannot fault Cliff Top Cafe...Always a superb service. And there home made soups! Only one criticism...I did think a veggie sausage sandwich would resemble a sausage sandwich...(a rare treat)..not potato and veggies shaped like a sausage thingy...which went mushy inside the bread. Didn't resemble a sausage sandwich. My first and only disappointment after many yummy visits. And that view 😊

A warm welcome awaits at this dog friendly cafe. There is a delicious, varied & reasonably priced menu. The fact that they also cater for vegetarians, vegans & gluten free diets (without fuss or judgment) is an added bonus !

This is an exceptional cafe with amazing views. Food and drinks are of the highest standard and reasonably priced. Brunch after a brisk walk on the beach was an absolute pleasure.

What more could you want? Sited high over our favourite beach in the world with stunning panoramic views fuelled by excellent quality coffee and simple but fresh ingredients assembled with care and all served by friendly personable staff. A Cornish gem! .

This was an absolute highlight of our trip to Torpoint. We came for the passing out parade of my brother who’s just finished his initial Navy training and had breakfast here on the last day of our visit. We had a very fussy little boy with us who has additional needs and is usually very hard to please. He said his breakfast here was the best of his life! As for myself I wasn’t expecting to find such great vegan options in such a seemingly random place. I had set myself up for beans on dry toast as my only option but instead I had a delicious vegan hot chocolate and loaded hashbrows, and I was really spoilt for choice! Staff were really friendly and this place just has such a great vibe with the beautiful interior and stunning views. And with clean facilities and lovely food I couldn’t find anything to fault! Hope I get to visit again someday.

I am staying in a chalet near to here and we had lunch. The servers are very friendly. The food is good. I had the salmon and a good salad and some chips. All very tasty and hot. Everything was clean and hygienic. Best is the vista. All around is the sea. The sun was shining and was wonderful. It was not a large crowd so it was very relaxing. A mix of people and cyclers.

We stopped as a group of 8 for a cake and a drink mid-morning. Good choice of cakes and warmer snacks too. Great service from young staff members, well done! We will be back!

I have frequented this cafe for many years, enjoying tasty food. Today we had delightful salmon & avocado salad - perfect in the hot weather - served by Ben and his team in a tranquil setting while we looked out on a panoramic view of Whitsand bay. I recommend this cafe very highly.

We stopped here for cold drinks and ice creams on a hot sunny day and sat on the benches in front of the cafe itself overlooking the sea. What a fantastic location!! The staff were very friendly and the food that was going to other tables looked delicious too

After the challenging walk back up the cliffs from the beach, we were greeted by a very friendly chap. He could see we needed a cold drink, so suggested several ideas including iced coffee which was very welcome. Although we didn't eat here, the food we saw coming out was of a very high standard and no-one waited very long. We would definitely go back to this cafe again. Well done to whoever owns it!

If you are fortunate to go to Whitsand Bay you simply must visit Cliff Top Cafe. The food is delicious tasty and plentiful. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The views are outstanding. I thoroughly recommend the Crab Salad (had this twice as a takeaway) the cakes and pastries are to die for. The cooked breakfast sets you up for the day.

Have visited a few times over the past two years and have always loved their breakfasts. Visited last week while staying and they are offering take outs but you can sit outside still. We had lovely bacon sandwiches and coffees. Still a friendly, casual cafe with the best view!!

Our first visit since lockdown was certainly worth the wait! The cafe has adapted to Covid-restrictions really well and we felt really safe ordering and eating here. Excellent food - we especially love the vegan/veggie provision.

A mini break and walk along the SWCP came across this little gem. Dont be put off by takeaway only as they have everything in place for recycling all.products.We enjoyed fresh baguettes and salad boxes. Yummy just yummy. Well done as I'm.sure the past few months have been hard and hopefully now people are out and about walking they will support you. Worth a visit

Fairly recently we found the Cliff Top Cafe almost by accident and, well, it has a quite magical setting. Right on a Cornish cliff top point. Simple, rustic, friendly, helpful plus good straight-forward food. The customers seemed a mix of regulars and visitors but all were equally welcome. Parking is high up on the roadside and then a steep, but short, walk down to the cafe. We came with an elderly relative and were happily allowed to drop him off outside the cafe...and then drive back up to park on the road. Would definitely recommend this very unique cafe.

I would usually give this Cafe 5 stars but yesterday the staff appeared under pressure which detracted from a relaxing atmosphere. It was busy (an unexpectedly fine day) and they didn’t have enough staff. Our main course was excellent & within a reasonable time but the follow up coffee never appeared. I twice gently reminded but the coffee didn’t come and we had to walk off at about 45 mins due to commitments. Normally, the service is good, food & staff, management usually excellent at this wonderfully located cafe. Maybe I am too impatient !!!

The views over Whitesand Bay are a big draw for this little cafe which nestles in the quirky community of Chalet style buildings at Freathy. It if often full and we were pleased to get a table with a sea view. Pleased to see plenty of veggie options and I had a chickpea/butternut Squash curry whilst my friend enjoyed a good ploughman's. The curry was fine, but not anything more than that and not as good as we had hoped- no heat and very little spice. So not as good as past experience. That won't stop us from going again. Good value and nice people

Great location for our breakfast. Be prepared you may need to sit outside as it's busy, didn't put us off. Food was quick, hot and filling. 2 ways in, park on main road, facing the sea locate cafe from main road. Left path walk steepish to cafe, right small car park with a more gradual walk. Google map it first.

I always visit this cafe I love it. The view is incredible and its right on my doorstep. Food is brilliant, only issue is there can sometimes be a very bad smell that I am yet to put my finger on but it could be due to being by the sea

Superb ! Beautiful eggs, nice sprinkling of herbs on tomatoes and the best tasting vegetarian sausages ! It is an absolute treat when we have this breakfast. Fair prices and a nice feel to the place, relaxed and happy with great tasting food. We very much enjoy our visits here.

We arrived on a wet and windy day and were made to feel warm and welcome. Lunch was freshly cooked, and good value for money. They cater for vegetarians and dogs are welcome.

We visited the cliff top cafe on a recent family holiday to Cornwall. This is a fantastic little cafe serving really nice quality food. The staff are all really friendly, they were working extremely hard and served us with a smile. We have two young children one aged 8 and a 2 year old and it is sometimes hard to find good quality healthy food for them when eating out. They were well catered for and all of our food was fresh and tasty. The location of the cafe is perfect to refuel before or after you brave the 180 steps down to the bay! And the view across the channel is amazing. This is a lovely cafe in a lovely quiet part of Cornwall and well worth a visit.

This became our favourite haunt on our recent family holiday. We stopped off for breakfast before taking the 200 steps down to the beach; the views from the cafe are gorgeous and the food and drink choices are equally delicious. I highly recommend the crab sandwich (which I had for breakfast!), the ploughmans is a tasty lunch option and my husband enjoyed the big breakfast and salmon and scrambled eggs.Dog and family friendly our 3 dogs enjoyed chilling at the cafe whilst our son tucked into jacket potatoes and smoothies. The cappuchinos are also delicious and a much needed treat when you climb back up from the beach. We will be back next time we stay in Cornwall!

Came here with friends and sat outside under the canopy with fantastic views of Whitsand Bay. Good variety of breakfasts available and probably one of the cheapest in the surrounding vicinity but this does take away from the quality. Always busy with walkers, cyclists, locals and holidaymakers, definitely worth the wait when it is particularly busy.

We visited this morning for breakfast. It is a fantastic cafe and in the summer you can sit outside and admire the view. The food is cooked fresh to order. The sausage and egg sandwich is great as well as the bacon and mushroom sandwich. The pancakes are good with the bacon, but I would recommend that you have the syrup on the side so you can add how much you want. We will certainly visit again!

We had breakfast here on our recent visit to Cornwall. The breakfasts were very good, reasonably priced and the service very good. What more can you ask for.

Not much more to add really. Ate here for breakfast most days, good size portions and really tasty. Also do the most amazing ice-cream milkshakes! Just the thing to break up the coastal walk.

First day out on a stretch of the SWCP, a blue sky and a cafe offering crab sandwiches and a view along the coast. The sandwiches were great but they did cost £11 a time ! Very good coffee.

Amazing little gem. We visited after being being recommended this cafe by several different people from Devon and Cornwall. We had a lively pup with us so we sat outside but was made to feel so welcome inside and out. Food is amazing and service was outstanding. The kids asked for seconds. I must say they went above and beyond when we came back up from the beach and my asthma played up. They closed at 4 but my kids knocked on the door at 4:15 and they provided us with lots of water and checked we were all ok. Honestly a must go place if you are visiting Cornwall especially whitsand bay. Thank you and we will be back.

Whitsand bay has amazing beeches and views we stumbled upon this family run cafe and it was perfect in every way home cooked food with great service and amazing views

We met a group of family and friends for a coffee and a get together. A very friendly morning with a happy birthday sung. Bright cheerful cafe with a beautiful view over the bay.

We were only supposed to be stopping for a scone, but the smell of bacon got us and we ended up having a delicious sausage, bacon and egg sandwich too! Really delicious food, energised serving of clotted cream with the scones and wonderful views. We'll definitely be back!

Had a lovely chocolate brownie - best ever - in a stunning location, sat outside in the sun overlooking Whitsand Bay - it doesn't get much better for location. The drinks were fine and reasonably priced. Would recommend and return.

We visited this cafe on the 29th October at 2.30pm only to be told by the lady running it 'I have just made the decision to stop serving food and close at 3pm because I have to pick my kids up'. She let me order drinks and cake, but I hate cake. I have visited this beach 4 times in the last couple of years and they have closed early every time. Maybe we're very unlucky or maybe they do this regularly, I will never know, but it's very unprofessional. If you're going to close early at least change the signs on road. Turning away customers is not cool. It was also interesting that after she told me they were not taking orders she went up to a couple on a table and asked if they were ready to order. Their bacon sandwiches came out before our tea and cake! Thanks for your awful customer service. I hope you managed to pick the kids up on time!. I don't think we will bother trying to get something there again

We arrived at this cafe after a great walk at Rame Head, with four hungry teenagers in tow. It was just after 3pm and the two signs on the road advertised the cafe to be open from 10am-4pm. The cafe was bustling and we went to the counter, only to be told abruptly by the woman serving that "we closed at 3". My friend pointed out that it was 3.04pm , and would it be possible to just have drinks, to which the woman replied "no, I've got drinks orders outstanding already". And that was that. No apology, no offer of selling us a cold drink, no manners at all - just plain rudeness. Apart from the fact that the cafe advertises that it closes at 4pm (that time is also given on this listing), it was the way we were spoken to that has prompted this negative review. Absolutely non - existant customer service. Would never go back.

We visited on a miserable rainy Sunday morning and despite knowing how popular this brilliant cafe is, we arrived 15 minutes after opening, and it was full. We had to wait but it was well worth it.

Came for lunch on a day trip to Whitsand Bay. Fantastic little cafe in a wonderful spot with incredible views. We each had a baguette, they were so good, and really filling. Service was great, would definitely come back.

Great cafe off the main road, food excellent, service and atmosphere top class. The view is stunning, Eddystone lighthouse can be seen on a cleared day.

We came across this cafe while walking the SW Coast Path. We wanted a drink and an energy snack so had pancakes with maple syrup and tea. Great choice.

Amazing homemade cakes, we had the chocolate orange cake. It was so lovely. Nice atmosphere and an amazing view over Whitesands bay. The only downside was the annoying wasps which meant we had to sit inside. Would highly recommend this cafe. A real find.

This is a great stop-off point for drinks, breakfast, snacks and meals, whether you are local, a walker or on holiday.Coffee is very reasonably priced and always nice and hot.There are fabulous views over Rame Head and towards Looe.There is plenty of outside seating, and the cafe is just off the road, by the Whitsand Bay Holiday Park. Food looks great and the staff are very friendly and work hard. There is a path which leads down to one of our lovely beaches too. It seems well patronised by locals, which is a sign of a great cafe.

Not only a lovely view, great service and doggy friendly but we had a fantastic veggy. Forget Waves and Seaton Beach cafe which were both dreadful, this was really well cooked and nice ingredients. Not too expensive either. the only downside about this place is the lack of parking. Whatever you do during peak season is "don't" park on road as it's a freeway and you will get a ticket.

This cafe is set Down from the road, it may be a bit difficult if unable to tackle slopes. A very popular cafe with friendly staff, good food and drinks. Outside seating with sea views or inside seating if preferred. It gets very busy as set on a main beach pathway but well worth waiting for a table.

Go here once a week. Food is good and great value for money. It is clean and all staff are friendly and accomodating

After walking miles along Whitsand Bay with our dog Bentley, we decided to walk up the cliff to this cafe for a well earned refreshment Break.

After a beautiful walk along the coastline we were delighted to find this little cafe. Just wanting to stop for an ice-cream and soft drink it was perfect with lovely views and passersby a plenty 😊

We have had two meals here - breakfast and lunch - both were great quality and well priced. There is a good choice on the menu for both meals, including lots of fish dishes. We were impressed with both the quality and quantity of the servings. Lovely presentation. Would recommend the salmon and scrambled eggs on toast! And the prawn/crab salads!

Such a fantastic little cafe nestled in the cliff top above Whitsand Bay. Enjoyed our very reasonably priced breakfast, overlooking fabulous views. Lovely friendly staff and plenty of options for gluten free and vegan etc. This little place is switched on and supercool.

Great little cafe tucked into the cliff on white sand bay. Great at the start and end of a trip down to the beach down the steep path. However just great to visit at any time. The owners work very hard to provide a great service and food. Breakfasts are great as well as the traditional also a great range of wraps and salads as well as home baked cakes. Now with card payments, never disappoints.

I ordered a bacon and chicken salad, it was quite expensive for what it was but there was a beautiful view to enjoy so fair enough. The chicken sadly had been microwaved making it absolutely steaming hot, rubbery with no flavour really. Such a shame they didnt think to grill it or even fry it like the bacon :( But as above the view was lovely and my husband enjoyed his crab so perhaps i just ordered the wrong thing. I was planning a cream tea but the scones, dispite looking delicious, were left uncovered on the counter and were therefore breathed and talked over by all the staff and customers which put me off but i know i am a bit funny about things like that

The cooked breakfast is great, well cooked and generous portions. The crab sandwich was delicious and the falafels were moist and extremely tasty. We shall definitely be returning so that we can try other dishes from the tempting menu.

We were recommended to visit the Cliff top cafe by a friend. It can often be busy so we arrived half an hour before opening time and joined the queue!

So easy to walk right by this unique, unassuming stopping off place. There is no sensation in the eating there just great quality straightforward food well presented in an utterly unique venue. We watched the comings and goings of the local population that live in this special community that clings to the side of the cliffs here on the South West Coast Path. The combination of the location, the walk down to the cafe (definitely not for the less able bodied I am afraid!), the surrounding community, the views, the good food: All in all a very special place to stop off. Go there with confidence and you will leave with joy that such communities can still thrive and live so well (bet it is cold in winter!).
