Had so many recommendations about this cafe, that we decided to try it out. Lovely atmosphere, the brothers are so friendly and welcoming. I opted for the lasagne with salad and chips, my husband had the corned beef pie with chips, peas and gravy and my grandson had the chicken nuggets, chips and beans. Food was served within minutes, steaming hot. Have to say it didn't disappoint, food was delicious. The cafe itself is busy and we can see why, it's a very popular eatery, will we be back? Oh yes that's guaranteed. Well done!! 10/10

Had to travel to Penarth for business so as we didn’t know the area, decided to google best place to eat before we left. The Busy Teapot looked the best place for us and we weren’t disappointed, great selection of food, caters for everyone. Very welcoming and great atmosphere created by the owners, really nice blokes. We had the mega all day breakfast which was excellent and a great price compared to where we’re from. We’re back in 2 weeks and will be going to The Busy Teapot again!

Local knowledge is always the best I find…I was in the butchers next to Brod the Danish coffee shop and I asked where was the best place for a cooked breakfast? Several places they could have directed me too but both unanimously pointed me in the direction of “The Busy Teapot”. I was with my two year old Grandson and he’s mad for baked beans After a couple of minutes walk up Glebe Street on the opposite corner of the Albion’s Club you’ll find this welcoming Cafe. First impressions for ten o’clock on a Saturday morning were that it was busy but there were ample tables for seating. I knew I wanted a large traditional cooked Breakfast and it didn’t disappoint but there were many more dishes written on the chalkboard that were more than tempting Lunchtime would also be a great time to visit as there were many delicious looking pies in the chiller cabinet. The one thing that struck me was the friendliness of the staff - they were consistent in their welcome to each and every customer and eager to help. After we had our Breakfast which was really good I rang my daughter and asked if she wanted a Bacon sandwich- this was arranged promptly and I took it home for her. The overall experience was great and the prices were more than reasonable I paid by card. I really couldn’t fault this place and I will definitely be returning!!

We tried The Busy Teapot because of the reviews. We were not disappointed. The breakfast was excellent such a wide choice of food with many combinations of what you could have. The food was cooked to perfection well done chef. The homemade pies looked delicious plenty of filling with perfect pastry. If your choice is an afternoon coffee and cake then the cakes also looked amazing. The service was outstanding greeted with a warn welcome good service and it was so pleasing to see someone that enjoyed providing the excellent service. Infact we went back the next day and enjoyed our food just as much. If you are ever travelling or staying in Penrath the Busy Tea pot is a must

This cafe is old school, with good family style cooking. They are very much in touch with the local person who know a good cafe when they see one. So many cafes these days have fancy nonsense in them to make them up market, the tea-pot is not one..its down to earth, well priced, and happy.

We’ve eaten at the Busy Teapot many times over the years. It’s aptly named, as the only time it’s not busy is when it’s closed. Even then, I’d imagine the boys will be busy baking home-made cakes, pies, etc. There’s always a cheery welcome and the service is very prompt, friendly and helpful. My son and I always have the Mega Breakfast, and my wife loves the Standard Breakfast and the home-made pies, depending on the time of day we go there. On every visit, the hygiene standards have been excellent. This is a thriving family business, which deserves all the love and custom we can possibly give. When we are in Penarth town during the day, the Busy Teapot is always our Number One choice. We’re delighted the guys have survived the lockdown, and we wish them every success in the future.Long Live the Busy Teapot!!!

Looking at the other reviews here, decided to pop in thinking that this would be a great cafe using quality bacon, sausages etc. It is very rare that I have a cooked breakfast and this was going to be a treat. Upon arrival walked in and lots of seats. Decided to sit by the window and a bit surprised that the chairs had a sticky/oily film over them as did the menu and seemed to need a clean. We looked at the menu and the choices . Decided to go for the big breakfast but I am not a fan of greasy fried eggs so asked could I have poached...the answer from behind the counter..."No we don't do poached on those breakfasts". I said I wasn't keen on oily eggs they said "we only do scrambled or fried". Ok, if that's all the do then that was my choice. So I had one of the largest breakfasts with fried eggs. A cup of tea which looked like the teabag had been used for 20 cups of tea arrived and this was a shame as you would imagine that being called the busy teapot you may have been given a teapot with tea in for two...just a thought!?Food took quite a while and longer than expected and when it was placed down, I knew this was going to be poor. The sausages were small and tasteless, (a shame when a local butchers located in Penarth which sell incredible fresh sausages however, these seemed more like a cheap frozen sausage, two hash browns soaked in fat and clearly frozen, a pile of mushrooms with no taste, the bacon was thin, dry and tasteless, again why not get bacon from the local butchers? The eggs were greasy and overcooked with the yolk dry, beans were beans and a black pudding slice which was dry and flavorless. The toast was plain white medium sliced toast and came cold. I was really surprised at how poor this was considering the location and the other ratings. For the price which was around £13 for two breakfasts and one cup of tea each , I really think this is poor value.I was very disappointment and as mentioned the food incredibly bland. The one cup of tea was cold and weak and by the time the food came you needed another.I expected more and was left disappointed by the service, the food and cleanliness of the cafe. I will not be visiting again.

While not strictly a bar, I had it on good authority that this place is as good as any to get a tipple after a long day in the van with Louis. My man Louis orders his iconic Vesper to its exact spec: ‘three measures of Gordon’s gin; one of vodka; half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it over ice, and add a thin slice of lemon peel.’ only to be met with a blank stare, which was abruptly followed by an ushering to the exit. This busy teapot aint as busy as everyone is making out.

We went here following glowing reviews on social media and here on trip advisor. Very disappointed with our lunch. You have to order at the bar and pay include the tip without the knowledge that they earned it! Our lunch which was from the small plate menu Lamb, and portion of chips. It took 40 minutes to arrive even after a reminder. others near us had theirs served before us even though we had arrived first. We sat on a table in the middle of the restaurant. We seemed to be isolated, window seats on larger tables were available but not to a 2. We quite often find this in some establishments but are usually offered a better table when requested. When we left 6 customers left. Oh dear, we shan't be back. By the way we find the shop also expensive. Other deli's offer more and better value.

This pub has been bought by the villagers. It’s is wonderful in so many ways. Cowbridge seems to be a black hole of decent food aside from the hare and hounds and maple and bean. This felt like a proper community pub in the 90s. The staff were all amazing. The food was amazing. There wasn’t a 400% markup on rubbish wine. The service as great. The atmosphere was lovely. Great starters of crab and squid were followed by perfectly cooked steak. The doughnuts with custard cream and strawberries were lovely. No rip off frozen food or “small plates” that nobody likes here. Go and support places like this. The rest of cowbridge eateries need to up their game.
