We called in this morning for brunch. The atmosphere was a warm and cosy antidote to the fresh autumn morning outside. We were promptly greeted and shown to our table by Kym, who looked after us impeccably throughout. The menu was first rate. Sarah had the smoked salmon: it was delicious. I had the full breakfast: it was simply sensational. Matthew put together a fanatic brunch using the finest ingredients. Give it a try. You will not be disappointed.

This place has become our ‘go-to’. Always wanting to try new places but find ourselves returning back here in the last six months as have always had amazing food. Portions are generous and amazing value for money all round - very reasonably priced. There has always been something for everyone on the menu and presentation of food is fantastic - a bit of a twist on classics which was appreciated by all members of our group (from a range of ages this time around). We always like to support local businesses as believe unless you support they won’t be around and would highly recommend others to try it too.

This is the fifth time I've visited this restaurant and everytime the food has been perfectly cooked. The menu choice has something to suit everyone. This time our group of 6 had rib eye steaks, Wagyu burgers, belly pork and haddock for the mains, with the best panko onion rings with baconaise. Starters included the chefs take on prawn cocktail, brie and a mushroom dish, whilst our desserts included chocolate fondant and sticky toffee pudding. The quality and presentation really is beautiful, with the prices very reasonable for the quality. Will continue to visit this restaurant and highly recommend it.

What a wonderful Sunday lunch. The chef is a foodie, likes his meat and gravy. The Yorkshire pudding was half the size of the county of Yorkshire. Only one problem I could not order a dessert as I was full from the main course. Wines were well priced (£21 to £25) service charge of 10% ( as apposed to 12.5%) Service from the staff was excellent. Will be back for my wife's birthday in October. Ohh, the chairs were great too, could slide them forwards and back with no effort.

An incredible lunch today, food was fantastic, service was excellent, prompt and attentive, without being overbearing, never rushed and the FOH team went above and beyond. How they are delivering food of this quality, cooking technique, proficiency, and plating skills at the price point is just bonkers!!. Anyway, don't listen to me, just go and experience for yourselves, you can thank me later ;-)

Been to The Six Bells Penmark on a number of occasions for Sunday lunch, which is delicious, so thought we would try their lunch menu and was very impressed by the menu. 2 courses £20 from a substantial menu, fantastic selection to choose from. We had bao bun loaded with Teriyaki beef, Reuben sandwich with 18 hour cooked brisket sauerkraut, onion jam, lasagne (the best I’ve eaten) with rocket salad followed by freshly made apple crumble. Fantastic flavours in every dish! The Six Bells is a hidden gem and has become our favourite place to eat! Food, service and atmosphere 10/10!!

Overall a good experience but heavily let down by the slow service. I booked a table for 7pm and we were shown to our table shortly after arriving. The place itself is very modern and had a nice feel. Our waitress took our drinks orders (2 pints of cider + bottle of Red wine) but it took approx. 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive. Our food orders were taken shortly after and food arrived quickly. Unfortunately my steak had to be sent back. I requested medium but it arrived raw! This was soon rectified though and the replacement steak was perfect. We asked for the dessert menu and after 45 minutes of waiting, we decided to go to the bar, pay our tab and leave. I could appreciate the slowness if the restaurant was rammed but we were only one of five tables in the place! Overall, food fantastic but service far too slow and for this we wouldn't return.

The food is delicious and well cooked, there is a good range of gluten free and the chef will change a dish to suit you. We will definitely visit here again soon.

I booked Sunday lunch recently having seen the photos of it on Facebook. We were all blown away by the quality of the food and skill of the cooking. Can’t think of a better Sunday lunch that we’ve had. It felt like good value for money given how good every meal was, we all went for different meats too. Desserts were lovely too. Service was friendly and as efficient as possible (I think they were a couple of staff down but they couldn’t have worked any harder). Really looking forward to going back and trying it for lunch and dinner menus as well as returning for more Sunday roasts.

Booked really late (on Saturday) for a family meal on Sunday. All the staff were super helpful. The food was good - big slabs of beef, plenty of veg. Because we had a late booking -4pm - they had run out of some of the things we wanted as this is a VERY busy restaurant. Definitely not their fault. Need to book earlier next time. Could not believe how out of their way the staff went to ensure the children ate. Went for the food & will be back for that & the amazing service.

Visited 6mths ago and it was fabulous so went back. Sadly it fell well way short of our previous experience. Service - Gone was the warm welcome instead 3 staff chatting at the bar when we walked in to an otherwise empty pub but still quite a delay before being greeted! Food was okay - Spaghetti was over cooked / soft, Ragu was tasty with tender melt in the mouth brisket but sauce hadn’t been properly heated through so had hot bits & cold bits. Staff - young male manager was loudly complaining (swear word included) about a large booking that were due in who had brought one extra guest with them. The pub was empty! This was wholly unprofessional behaviour and made us feel very uncomfortable. We paid & left and won’t be back.

Amazing Sunday lunch - every element on the plate was so good. One star off for service because there was quite a wait to be served. We had to ask for drinks and then ask for our food order to be taken as it was taking so long. There was then a significant wait for each course. I certainly don't want to feel I'm being pressured to get out of a restaurant, but this had gone a little bit too far the other way. Not taking anything away from the attitude of the staff as they were really engaging and friendly! Just need to be a little bit faster serving. I would absolutely recommend the 6 Bells though and will definitely be coming back!

The Six Bells village pub has a truly warm welcome and friendly atmosphere from its staff and locals. The restaurant and bar has recently been renovated with its decor updated by the new owners Matthew and Kym. It looks the business. A lovely environment to enjoy some great food! We were there for the restaurant opening night. The menu has something for everyone. Our party had burgers, Fillet steak, Chicken Supreme and the Seafood Spaghetti. A couple of us had starters, Deep fried Brie and the King prawn salad. Every single dish was beautiful, the flavours were stunning and went spot on together. The finish two of us had the welsh cake crème brûlée which was perfect to end the meal. I will add that we had to pack our patience pants as the service was slower than you would be used to, but we knew this was to be expected being a brand new team both in the bar/restaurant/kitchen and with new till systems. But WOW the food was absolutely worth waiting for! 100% will go again! Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Wife & I were lucky enough to have a meal @ the 6 bells last Friday. I have to say that was one of the best pub meals I have had for many a year. Thank you again Pat & staff.. :-)

Just had Sunday lunch at this Six Bells Penmark and I must say that the meal was brilliant! It was really well presented and perfectly cooked. The service was excellent and we we’re really well looked after. No complaints at all 👍

Stayed nearby before going to Senior Open Golf at Porthcawl next day, read the reviews and decided that the Six Bells deserved a visit. Not disappointed at all - chips are everything that other reviews rave about (crispy and fluffy), great gammon with all the...

The food here was lovely as were staff but I have recently discovered that they hosted an event with Cruella Braverman. Please don't associate yourselves with ghouls.

Fabulous bed and breakfast Inn. A quite location just a short drive from Cowbridge but within easy reach of Cardiff and many other South Wales attractions. Rooms have all you could ask for, including a large, extremely comfortable bed, tea, and coffee making facilities ( replenished every day) wall mounted TV etc. The breakfasts are a must, A full Engish all with locally sourced produce. Lunch and Evening meals are available with a varied menu. All the staff are extremely helpful and polite. Beryl & Michael are the hosts in this lovely establishment and are more than happy to assist you with any information you may need. My wife and I have stayed at the Victoria several times now and always go back when we visit South Wales. Highly recommend 👌

Stayed here once and had food here twice. Food is excellent. The chef truly knows his stuff. Atmosphere is lovely. There’s a slight room for improvement with customer service, and maybe consider keeping bins in a different area as the garden has tendencies to smell of raw fish. Still going to give five stars.
