Very good pancakes and great service especially from Tom who looked after us well. Thank you! Price was also appropriate so no complaints there either.

Incredible gluten free menu!! I had chips, battered sausage and curry sauce (gf) the batter was perfectly crispy, the curry sauce was delicious and the chips were tasty too!! My partner (non gf) had chips, fish and mushy peas and he also really enjoyed his and he can be quite hard to please 😂 Thankyou, Thankyou, Thankyou!! We will be back!

What a lovely visit to this establishment today. My pal and I, had a lovely breakfast with coffee. The place was packed at 8.30am on a Sunday, but we managed to get a table for 2. We are both from the manor, even though I moved down to Bournemouth 23 years ago, it still feels like home. We couldn’t eat all of the breakfast, as there was so much of it. Lovely service also, and Austin the owner is a diamond. We shall be back soon. Thank you

Nice pub, good selection of st Austell beer, and very friendly barmaid. A very welcoming pub all round.

My family & I visited The Black Horse for Sunday Lunch as part of a birthday gift. We were warmly greeted and shown to our table, which was tucked away to the immediate left of the entrance in a cosy area. I had the Spiced Beetroot, Red Lentil & Vegan Feta Crispy Rolls as a main course, which was extremely flavourful. I'm glad I chose this, as the only main course option was a nut roast (often the get-out-clause of an inexperienced chef), however after sampling my choice, this was definitely not the case. There were only a couple of minor negatives. The first was the overuse of something resembling micro-cress. There was a huge amount of it on my plate and it was also used in a dessert that one of my family members had. Micro-cress on an apple tart dessert? The other minor negative was that I ordered seasonal veg as a side option. At £5, I wasn't expecting some unseasoned kale and cabbage. Overall, I'd recommend the restaurant as the charm and quality of food is top notch.

This was a lovely find after our big 16k hike well deserved beer 😂, the staff was lovely, the pub was cosy we sat next too the fire place to warm up, the food looked amazing but we didn't have food.

Amazing time at Bertram’s. The customer service from the moment we entered was Michelin level!!! We spent our anniversary there and were treated like family. Huge thank you to Barrett, Seth and Luke for serving us throughout the night and making our stay special. Cocktails were amazing and the food was cooked amazingly well! We would 10000% recommend this to anyone!

Love this place, excellent selection of whisky and knowledge staff. The Scottish tapas is a real hit. Don't bother with the whisky experience, go to a proper distillery instead.

Went here with my family for a take away not my first time and has always been very good and will be back again , definitely recommend this place 🐟🍟. I had a lobster and the brown crab. The Crab was the business. I've had better lobster but the whole brown crab was defo something to write home about..

Tasteless food and highly priced. Coffee at 3.60 a cup was hot, brown water. A bacon sandwich was 2 packet slices of white bread covered in 'spread' and the bacon had been kept a bit warm somewhere for a long time.. it was hard, stringy. The croissant was something akin to one from a supermarket packet of 6. Total bill over £17! Please can owners occasionally eat the food theyre serving and check if they are offering value for money!? It was quite shockingly poor and we'll not be going back. View or no view, it doesn't make up for poor quality food.

Booked for Sunday lunch, 5 kids 6 adults. Everything was amazing. The staff were excellent, attentive and friendly. The roast dinners were probably the best I have eaten out, I could of done with more belly pork but only because it was so delicious. The crispy rice pudding, coconut sorbet desert was outstanding. They've got it spot on in this restaurant 👌.

My wife and I have been coming here for years. It's our "go to" for date nights and celebrations. The service has always been impeccable. The food has always been amazing. Excellently cooked steaks, but what the sides really enhance the meal. The wine list, with its focus on California reds, is excellent. However, in the last couple of weeks, the menu was reduced. Some sides were missing among other things. The sides really made the meal so it would be great if they could bring those back. Otherwise we'll probably go to one of the Goodmans which still has the full menu.
