Seven adults, a toddler and a dog all enjoyed a visit for Afternoon Tea. The staff were all friendly and welcoming, the toddler had a toy to keep him amused and the dog received a dog treat! The tea itself was beautifully presented, with pretty china. There was a good selection of sandwiches and the home-baked scones and cakes were delicious.

We live in Bradenham so use the Red Lion often My husband loves to have breakfast here as does my daughter and her boyfriend It is excellent as it has gluten free options so this pleases my daughter when she visits as she cannot eat gluten My mum and I often have lunch here and they cater for the smaller appetite with half a sandwich. Every thing is very tasty and there’s lots of choices on the menu. I would recommend booking as a few times we’ve walked down and not been able to get a seat as it is so popular

Wonderful staff, menu that covers everything…. Which makes it hard to choose! All fresh & homemade, honestly one of the best new places we’ve found in the area. Went with a friend & we were both delighted to have found a new place that is actually delicious, decently priced & full of character & nice staff. The teacups alone would make me return. You will NOT be disappointed.

We love the Red Lion. A quirky cafe with . lovely friendly staff. We have visited a few times and everytime the food and service has been excellent. We had scrambled eggs on homemade toast and mushrooms also on homemade toast. Both cooked exactly how we like it. To top it off, my little dog is always made welcomed too. I highly recommend the Red lion for a lovely relaxed place to go with friends or family.

What a nice place. I was served outside by Lily, who was absolutely lovely - friendly, pleasant and helpful. Nice food, nice atmosphere and the rest of the staff were equally delightful. The adjacent road is rather noisy if you’re outside but it’s a nice building and garden, very well turned out with lots of character and handy for a midway or final stop on some lovely walks in the surrounding woods. I really enjoyed my food and the mild peril of the red kites taking my lunch (I was warned, but not affected). It was all good, but what really made it was the really pleasant atmosphere generated by the ever-lovely folk who work here. I left a tip, which seemed to both embarrass and surprise Lily but it was the least she deserved. Thank you!

Absolutely fantastic. Yesterday afternoon taking our senior residents out for a countryside drive, we pulled our minibus into The Red Lion, a spontaneous decision. What a treat! Firstly the staff welcomed our group and ensured everyone was seated comfortably. Our order/request for multiple tea pots and selection of cakes was handled with no issues, in fact the staff were genuinely kind and thoughtful and made each one of group feel quite special. I visited here many times pre-Covid and this was my first post-Covid visit. I took some friends here for breakfast and they were most impressed by the experience. As before the food and service was faultless, fried eggs were cooked to perfection (and I‘m very fussy about that) and prices were reasonable. It’s also a cosy, homely environment to enjoy breakfast in. Don’t go if you are in a hurry ( like one of the reviewers) it’s not a fast food joint. The food is all freshly cooked, it’s not sat on a hot-plate waiting for you to walk in the door. Overall a five-star experience as always.

If you want freshly cooked food then don’t order the fry up - sent back twice cos sausage like a black stick and bacon so dry you couldn’t cut it let alone eat it!! The bacon continued to be hard every time they bought it out. Service not that great as a bit of huffing and puffing when I complained second time. They then said they would cook the breakfast again but this came out in about 5 mins so not cooked again - only re-cooked egg like I’m stupid..... I could not go through the hassle of sending it back again for third time so ate what I could. No compensation offered just a sorry from the poor young man who came over to collect our payment. Another visit to this lovely pub turned tea room, again for a light lunch. It didn't disappoint. Friendly, welcoming staff and just right food. Veggie breakfast plentiful and the newly-introduced warm falafel salad was a hit - and sizeable!

Visited here after a recommendation and certainly not disappointed. Best breakfast in our area (15 mile radius of where we live). Breakfast was amazing, staff were friendly and welcoming. Will certainly go back and maybe try afternoon tea. Thank you, it was a pleasure to visit!

Stopped in for lunch, food was lovely but staff didn’t seem to know what drinks were available, contradicted themselves, brought the wrong drink and came back to confirm order twice. Welsh rarebit was nice, as was bacon & Brie sandwich.

Amazing breakfast, served on a hot plate. Only let down was the sausage, but I think that's down to personal taste. It was good quality but over flavoured for my liking. Bacon was insane.

Very friendly staff and very welcoming. The food was reasonable and there was plenty of it as well. I would recommend people to go here for good reasonable food and drinks.

This was our 2nd visit here, tad embarrassed we’ve not been more, considering we live local to this tea room (sorry!) food was superb again & the young girl serving us, was very polite & friendly, certainly be back, its a great place to visit.

Very tasty food. Breakfast value for money is excellent. Quick and efficient service. For me though as this will be against other reviews I thought the customer service could have been more friendly, warming and welcoming- just came across a bit administrative. Shame as all the rest is fantastic.

Really lovely country pub in the Chilterns. Peaceful and quiet on a week night with a very friendly owner. Amazing food - had vegan burger with halloumi fries. Proper coffee and lovely decor - highly recommended.

Novel 1940’s decor, friendly service, but with it come a relatively high price £16.95 for a simple fried breakfast and cup of tea (photo below). I can’t see going back at this price sorry!!

We visited for a Sunday roast with friends and chose the venue as it was dog friendly. I don't think they could believe the size of the Irish wolfhound our friend brought! Excellent friendly service and good food. Very good value.
