We visited for a Sunday roast with friends and chose the venue as it was dog friendly. I don't think they could believe the size of the Irish wolfhound our friend brought! Excellent friendly service and good food. Very good value.

A cracking, proper pub. Popped in for a few drinks with a few friends and had a great time chatting to all sorts of other folk around the pub. It's a very friendly, comfortable pub which looks after it's ale well. Stayed longer than I planned as was having a great time and so ordered some food. The chicken Tacos 🌮 special was absolutely delicious. Credit to the chef.

A great pub for a quick pint and a bite to eat. I called in on a sunny evening to find plenty of parking space and a large garden area with plenty of seating. It's a dog friendly establishment, and I was greeted by 3 friendly chocolate coloured labradors. The locals were also very friendly and returned my hello guys. I didn't stop long but enjoyed my pint of larger and bowl of chips. I will call in again when passing. I took photo of the blackboard (!!!?).

Spent two nights here in our Motorhome in the car park. Myself and my husband and my brother and sister in law in their Motorhome. We have never had such a warm welcome. We felt like royalty! The spaces were coned off for our arrival and we were offered free electric hookup. Had a great night drinking Friday and went in for delicious food and drinks Saturday night. They even brought the dog a bed so she didn’t have to lie on the floor. All staff were super helpful and friendly and great atmosphere in the pub. We will 100% be back again and again! We stayed at the Wheel overnight whilst at a local event. We can't fault any aspect of it! Amazing place! We had pre-booked a space for our small van camper and we turned up to a reserved space, they offered us electric too if needed, we had access to the toilets overnight that were cleaned before the pub shut so they were immaculate. The staff were so friendly, we had a tab at the bar for our drinks and food, with the prices surprisingly cheap. The food we ordered was good, good portion size, and very quick arriving. There was a great atmosphere in the pub (the Rugby WC was on) but the pub was quiet when we went to bed. We thought this pub was faultless, full starts on everything from us. Thanks for letting us stay! S&B.

Lovely pub with a car park, close to Hughenden manor. 2 lovely labradors greeted us followed by friendly and helpful staff who showed us to our table. The food was lovely, especially the chips and the prices were reasonable. I must note that despite being a Greene King Pub they don't honour the 15% friends and family discount which could affect other Greene King offers from the AA for example. Thankfully the prices are reasonable so this isn't a problem. Coffee is simple, no lattes or Cappuccinos available but it is a pub after all. I would happily return and I would recommend it to a friend.

Can often get a feel for what a place might be like service-wise from first contact on the phone, and The Wheel did not disappoint. We'd explained our particular situation and been reassured they could cope, were recognised and greeted as soon as we pulled up in the car park, and were escorted in by their two friendly (and not at all starving) chocolate labradors. Food menu was simple but effective, and cooked to perfection, with smaller portions available of a number of dishes – plus some proper options for younger children. Drinks met with everyone's approval also. We said we'd like to go for a short easy walk, and one of the staff sat down with us and planned a suitable route. Such attentive and friendly service made the day really rather special, and I don't doubt we'll be back again before long!

Simply wonderful experience… over 2 days. It was our first weekend away in a Motorhome and this place showed up as a first stop out of London, so we phoned quite late on Saturday afternoon enquiring about staying and the reception could not have been more welcoming. We arrived in our beast of a vehicle to the find the lovely Claire waving us in to our reserved space and even directing the traffic on the main road as we reversed in. Once we got settled in (power hookups, super clean toilets and all: amazing) we headed over to the beer garden with our pooch and were treated to great service, great pub grub and drinks. It became very apparent that these guys care about their customers, their staff and their doggies (actually all doggies). We loved it so much we also stayed for lunch the following day, sampling more of the food and relaxing with the friendly locals and the in-house doggies. Claire and the whole team they have assembled were fantastic. It’s been a few days now and we’re still talking about it… what a gem!

First visit, and took elderly parents. I felt so sorry for the couple running the place today, there were only 2 staff, so I know our experience will be clouded by this, but it isn't their fault! I booked a table and explained one of the party had dementia. On arrival, there was a long queue of people ordering food, so my elderly folks went to find somewhere to stand out of the way. It was VERY cold and the radiators weren't turned on which wasn't ideal for the oldies We sat in "the kitchen" which only had a small table. We ordered 4 all day breakfasts and were warned that service might be slow due to only 1 person in the kitchen. It was slow, but worth the wait, despite my dad getting uncomfortably chilly. The plates were huge. Much bigger than the table could cope with along with lovely pots of tea and plates of toast. Maybe use smaller plates, just an idea The plates were also cold so the food chilled down quickly sadly. We loved the fabulous design and displays! Really fun, especially for my olds who are in their 80s. 3 things we thought we would share. The bicycle in the doorway is very easy to catch your clothing on or trip over. In case of a power failure or fire, it also partially blocks the exit and could cause issues. The signage on the beautiful old front door is nailed in with thin pins which could catch on skin or clothes. The threshold of the "kitchen" leading out where the military jackets are hanging is a bit slippy and a trip hazard. Dad has bad eyesight. I guess a lot of your customers may be of the older generation. Just something to look at! The 2 staff were absolutely lovely, and were like swans on a lake. Graceful and calm, but you know their little feets were going at 100mph under the water! We would come back, but not til it is warmer in there. Fab food and staff. Sorry we got you in a bad day, but we aren't completely put off!
