I have been visiting this tea room for many years. On this visit, my friend ordered a scone - what was served was not worth the money paid. I had soup which was very thick indeed. Not at all watered down and good value. The server we had was not that welcoming (unlike the man who serves- he is a delight).

Not the greatest experience tbh. Bought tea and a cappuccino, along with slice of banana loaf and a slice of apricot cake. Items delivered, and the disparity in size of portions was about 2:1. I pointed this out to staff, and it was laughed off. I pointed out to another staff member and she said she’d cut a bigger slide which was duly delivered. It was tasty. Tea was tepid, but hey Ho. Charged £14 for this which I think is high. Later told I was charged for a bigger slice of cake. I contacted them by telephone, advised them of my experience. Response? “Oh well, thanks for your feedback” It all left me thinking, are cafes doing customers a favour, or is it the other way round?

Me and my wife stopped for a coffee on our way to Aboyne. On entering the café I was very impressed on how serious they where taking measures to protect customers as much as possible from the risks of Covid. Lots of signage and hand sanitizer on entry. As we opened the door we where met with smiles and friendly hellos from the staff which is nice. Tables in the café are very well spaced out and we where taken to one of the staff wearing a visor. He gave us a few minutes to get seated then came back and asked us for our details for track and trace and took our order. As soon as another table to our right emptied he was over deep cleaning the table to a very high standard, not just a casual wipe which I have seen elsewhere. Our coffees arrived and I am pleased to say they where lovely. I wish we hadn't of had a big lunch before we arrived as the cakes in the display cabinet looks amazing. I would like to thank the staff for making me and my wife so welcome at the café and for all their efforts on trying to keep customers safe during Covid. The café was spotless. Looking forward to coming back

Stopped here on the way to Fort William and very pleased we did. Firstly the views when having your food and drink is breathtaking and is such a quiet spot for a break from driving. Food is a little pricy, I’d say comparable to your average garden centre cafe but the quality makes up for the prices. Nice range on their menu with mixture of hot and cold traditional cafe choices. I had something called a hummingbird cake and oh my days it was divine. Already googled the recipe. We were very happy with the quality of all our food and drink with the service being really polite and helpful. We visited with our wee dog and staff were great with her. Seating was available outside as the cafe isn’t huge and didn’t want to assume other customers would be ok with her at our feet. We would definitely stop here again when passing.

The bacon, Brie and cranberry panini was excellent and served with coleslaw and salad. Fresh and tasty. My wife had the soup and outcakes- again a winner. Homemade with plenty veg and seasoned perfectly. Our little one had a ham and cheese sandwich which was filled with high quality roast ham and cheddar cheese. We shared a slice of cake which was exceptional. The service couldn’t have been better- friendly yet professional. Very reasonable price. Honestly a great find! Will be back soonest.

Another £85 later she was happy but my pocket was not lol. All things aside the items in the shop are great and good quality but again not cheap but are worth the money as I am sure a lot of the bits you would find hard to find anywhere else. We've been stopping in here for years, usually during the off season when the weather is cold but the tourists are thinner than usual. The place has changed hands over the years and I'd say the present owners have got it just right. The cafe is clean (yes, my mantra again), as are the toilets and the general atmosphere is very 'log cabin meets santa's grotto meets coffee and ice cream". Santa is showing off his wares big time during the winter months and he's no cheap hustler. The gift shop has chosen well, with none of the usual nasty tat that you find in a lot of tourist places. High end, special pieces, and after you've emptied your credit card you can recover with a nice hot brew and a bun or cake. We had a lemon drizzle cake which was ok but I have to say categorically that lemon drizzle cake should never, ever have chocolate bits in it. Ever. Sorry about that, but you have to get these things right, especially when absolutely everything else is just about perfect.

This is a popular spot for its soup , its snacks and its cakes. plenty of parking , inside and outside seating , good service and clean loos. additionally there is a really high quality store and second hand bookshop tied into the building. I would happily recommend this spot to anyone passing through the area.

Decided to stop as we were passing for a reviving coffee en route. It was lovely. Homemade cakes, great coffee, stunning outlook. The souvenir shop is a 'cut above' the usual with something for everyone and the costs are very competitive. There is even a second hand book store. The staff were really helpful. This is really worth breaking your journey for.

Whenever we are in the Cairngorm's near this delightful little cafe, we visit. The service is friendly and efficient. The food is local, fresh, home-made, good quality fare. The scone, particulary the cherry scones, are not to be missed.Just a few miles from Corgarff Castle, it is the prefect stop. This cafe also has a range of souvenirs and some really top draw items at perfectly reasonable prices. There are also artworks to be viewed and possibly purchased if you have the ability to take them home.A great place to visit. And if you have a liking for a stroll, there is an old cemetry just across the road to ramble through.

This is a favourite stopping place when we are travelling over the Lecht to Inverness. The cafe does good, basic food including bacon rolls and pancakes and the staff are friendly and local. The shop has a really good range of gift items, especially purses, handbags and cards.

This place is great for many reasons. Firstly, we arrived and my daughter was immediately sick on their porch, one of their employees, a young man, was so kind to her, reassuring her and then insisted on clearing it up. Secondly we had a delicious meal and did a wee bit of shopping. Thirdly, I left my favourite coat there and they were very kind and posted it back to me. On all fronts they went above and beyond, great customer experience all round. Thank you very much indeed!

We were about to give up on looking for a tearoom, when we found Goodbrand and Ross. Good food and friendly service, plus all the usual craft shop things.

I have visited Goodbrands and Ross on numerous occasions and always recommend it to people looking for a new place to go eat and shop. I have always found the staff to be friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble. They don't do "fry ups" but the aroma of bacon cooking sometimes upon entering sets the taste buds tingling, the soup never fails to delight as do the toasties, paninis, tray bakes and cakes and all excellent value for money. The gift shop has an amazing range of items all at a fair price after all this is quality not tat ! There are cards, gift bags and wrapping paper making it a one stop shop when buying gifts. A visit over the festive season is a must as the decorations and gifts chosen by the owner are tempting and often unusual and not seen else where and are keenly priced. The owner has a special late night opening at the beginning of November to launch the Christmas shop - it should be a date in everyone's diary. The shop is lit up outside with sparkling lights on the building and trees - truly magical. There are warm mince pies, crisps, chocolates, mulled wine and warm spiced apple juice for the drivers and children and this is all free. It is obvious from this that the owner Terry is not all about profit. Go visit a warm welcome will await you and the staff are always ready for a friendly chat.

I have stopped twice here to enjoy not only the view but the food and drink is also, the staff are friendly and in general it's just a lovely place to stop off and enjoy. In every trip planned in the future I will be sure to include this lovely little tea room in my plans. Can't recommend enough :)

From the outset this looks a lovely place, upon entering its very different, you are welcomed with the stench of fry ups and for us the added bonus of a icy welcome from the lady behind the front till. The gifts are nice but over priced can be bought in any gift shop for far less. The food on offer is generic nothing over the top but everything is dated and needs a clean. The tables and menus need a good clean and updates they may have been clean butnare dirty looking and tatty. It took ages for our table to be first of all cleared from pervious people then it took an absolute agento then be served by a very unwelcoming moody young girl. Then tea and coffee was lovely and the two tea bags I asked to have in my tea pot were added with no question but herenisnthe biggest bug bear. The China cup wasnchipped and stained with tea, the milk jug was also cracked and had stains upon it and the state other tea pot, well it was black inside and not overly clean looking from the outside. Then coming to pay for everything my £1.50 pot of tea had increased to £2.00 a extra charge of 50p for the extra tea bag!!!!! What a total liberty in the voice of Catherine Tate! No one informed usnof this added extra and really what a charge for a tea bag! This place should move with times have a good clean and train its staff in customer service!

A wonderful lunch we did not plan the visit and they were able to accommodate us. A great choice was available to meet a variety of needs. We opted for the fritters (black pudding and haggis) as a starter to share. This was delightful. The main courses were equally good with mother in law having beef lasagne whilst the Hunters chicken beckoned me. Well worth a trip

Lovely little cafe, run by volunteers. We went in for a light bite. They have a gluten free selection, which is ideal as Mrs B is coeliac. Tea came in a real tea pot 😊 Food was really tasty and reasonably priced, service very friendly. I thoroughly recommend dropping in.

We are now regulars at the Seafield Arms as it is so good. It was my birthday and where else would we go for a special meal. This time, we tried the surf and turf block. We were not disappointed as the seafood and steak were cooked to perfection. As well as the fresh local vegatable selection. The hotel manager had to get up at 4am to get the lobster. That is dedication to perfection. Our friend had a sirloin steak, cooked to her satisfaction. Our daughter had the mac and cheese and was more than happy. The girls finished the meal with sticky toffee pudding and creme brulee. Yum Yum. The service was professional and very friendly. We have a concern, what will we have to eat the next time as it is all so good.

My Husband and I were at the Tina/Cher Tribute last night at the Drumlithie Inn. This is such a lovely, cosy place. Our meal was lovely, I had the fish and chips and my Husband had the Steak Pie (lots of steak) we both really enjoyed our meal. My Husband then managed to squeeze in an Eve’s Pudding and custard which I tasted and it was delicious! The Tribute was very good and the “Happy Atmosphere” was amazing! Everyone was so friendly, it was like one Big Happy Party! 🥳 Would definitely recommend a visit David and Ian are always so Friendly and Happy to Help at all times, nothing is a bother to them. Well done guys!! Keep up the great job you are doing. 👍👏
