We visited the centre which was amazing, to be met by a most delightful young lady called Hazel who entertained us with the history until a legend of a man called Davie joined us. Davie was born in Braemar and is the most interesting person to talk to. A totally amazing place to visit

Absolutely fantastic seeing the Highland Games in Braemar! And seeing the King 😱👑 But they really need to organise getting out of the car park better! Stayed stationary for over 1 HR at the back of the car park because they just weren't letting the middle aisle out! Ruined the day if I'm honest!

We were at the festival that includes typical competitions such as folk dances, throwing logs and stones, rope pulling, long jumping and races. The 10 bands are very cool (you have to like bagpipes) Very well organized even if you go out with the car You have to be patient because until the royal procession leaves, you don't pass. There are food tracks behind the stands and about 20-30,000 people. We loved it. It is highly advisable to get tickets online, the benches are very uncomfortable to sit on (comfortable clothing) because they are long and close and with some splinters. Depending on where you sit you see more or less because it is all at once. Sunscreen and a hat or cap because there is no a shadow Good idea to bring food and drinks through the lines. We had a great time. Lasts until 5-6pm.

The Braemar Highland Games were the absolute highlight of my trip to Ireland and Scotland. I especially found it amusing that the man who won every heavy event was from Czechia. My wife especially loved seeing King Charles. There were lots of food vendors, but expect a wait if getting food during the main lunch time. I had no issues with waiting for a port-a-loo or urinal.

Closed during the Gathering. Absolutely the most stupid thing, ever. The Gathering was tiresome. Scottish games in the USA, Canada, and Australia and New Zealand are far more “Scottish.” Such a huge disappointment. Even the King couldn’t be bothered to show up for more than an hour, and the Balmoral bothy is close by. The organizers should well be ashamed. The vast majority of the great unwashed spectators were revolting. FIE AND SHAME!

The games were top class, but the organisation was poor even after all this time access for disabled is an afterthought at best, the paths if you can describe them as that are badly laid tarmac mostly worn away now, and badly repaired where they have bothered at all, on top of that we have to jostle our way through to even get a glimpse of the games at all were it not for a senior member of the boys brigade (who were really brilliant) we would not have see any at all as he let us into the press area, which itself was just barriered sloping grass (as was most of the public viewing area) my mobility scooter had to be pushed as it couldn't cope with most if the journey. Wheeled disabled people need flat or at least smooth and level ground to access any area, certainly not loose gravel, or grass slopes to cross or climb. Come on do some thinking please.

A brilliant free exhibition and cafe, located on the World's most significant Highland Games Field. Over 6000 people 'Gather' in the arena to enjoy The Braemar Highland Games in September (presided over by King Charles III & Queen Camilla), and the site is really interesting with so much history and heritage. The Visitor Centre Manager (Katherine?) was absolutely brilliant and our 2 American guests really engaged with her and discovered so much. Coffee was great too! Thank you so much. Darryl

Arrived at 2.30 for coffee and cake, there was a large table were staff were sitting. We wandered in and a guy came over and said they were closed and we could come back later and showed us the door. A family and another couple also walked in and were obviously given the same treatment. The cafe had no closed sign and clearly stated it was open until 4pm. If you must have staff meetings, hold them outside opening hours and be more curteous towards your customers.

Arrived for lunch but there was no gluten free option available. So just had a coffee. My friend had a scone which was marked as blueberry but turned out to be sultana and wasn’t very fresh. The surroundings are excellent though just a pity about the very limited food chooses. All that was available was toasted sandwiches and nothing gluten free.

Lovely fresh food, friendly staff and reasonably priced. We visited Braemar in July 2022 and surprisingly, many cafés and restaurants were closed. The café at the Pavilion was one of the few places open, and I am glad we waited to get a table. They were very accommodating with my Childrens food requests. The spiced sweet potato soup was lovely, the open BLT so fresh and tasty. The cakes looked fantastic too, but we had already overdone it on our holiday so did not try any out. Interesting museum/gallery on Highland games in the next room. Definitely worth a trip if you are in the area.

The Pavilion Cafe is a bright spot in a frankly underwhelming selection of places to eat in Braemar. The staff are friendly and efficient and the food excellent. Plentiful free parking, easy access for those wheelchairs or walking aids and clean toilets ( a very obvious mark of an establishments attitude to hygiene). The menu offerings may not as extensive as some of the “swankier” places in Braemar, but based on our experience of these the Pavilion Cafe would always be our first choice.

Stopped in for lunch after a Monday holiday drive up Deeside. Lots of parking available right by the Pavilion which is great. Great space with only 10 tables so felt very safe and relaxing. Good to be somewhere not crowded. Mum ordered a BLT toastie while I opted for the Cream of Mushroom Soup and a Ham, Cheese and Tomato toastie. The food was lovely!!! I have to admit to salad envy as the offering on Mum's plate looked, and was, very tasty. The coffees were also served nice and hot and were very smooth. The selection of tray bakes looked amazing but we gave them a miss this time. The toilets were very clean. Will definitely be back to try more of the goodies on offer. Oh, and it's dog friendly so you can take your pupsqueak in with you.

Waited 43 minutes, and had to prompt the staff...for 2 plates of soup, and a toastie..... On a positive, lovely setting, cakes look ok, but service indifferent. No explanation. Pleasant surroundings, and good space between tables, if you have all day to wait ( which..we did not..). Braemar has a captive audience of tourists here for the day. With service like that, unlikely first choice for locals ? Hopefully, with practive, service can be speeded up. I was warned about slow service , but wanted to make my own judgement..

This is a fairly new venture right inside the famous Braemar Gathering Park, Prince Charles himself is an investor. The tea rooms are classy and their is a wide range of cakes, pastries, hot savouries and "Chalk Board" meals. Within the tea-rooms their is also a gift shop with a limited but attractive range of souvenir gifts. A licenced bar is also available. Adjacent to the Tea-Rooms their are various exhibitions but you need to pay extra to visit these. For sure given the name of the business and the people behind it you will not be dis-appointed. Good food. A good range of meal options. Staff friendly and efficient. As it is situated away from the town centre and is part of the golf club, it is peaceful. There weren't any children during our two separate visits, mainly older golfers. Not that I mind children, but if you want a more peaceful lunch, it is a goo7d place to go. You may have a slightly longer wait as food is freshly cooked. It's not a problem when you can relax and enjoy the nice trees and greenery around the golf course.
