We spent one night in April 2024 (2 adults and a 10-year-old child) during our road trip in Scotland. Arduthie house is a charming typical house, with little nooks and crannies. The rooms are simple but very pretty, comfortable and clean. The shared relaxation room is extraordinary and friendly. The owners are really kind and attentive. One of our favourite bed and breakfasts!

My tour of Scotland started from here, in this small village where life seems to follow the rhythm of the sea, and in this "house" with a severe appearance but with a welcoming heart like the master and the landlady. It couldn't have had a better start. I have not had the opportunity to delve into the history of this building which must be quite old: it is probably a typical building from the late 19th or early 20th century, which has been gracefully renovated, trying to maintain the original style, while guaranteeing the guests all the comforts of modernity. Cozy and clean rooms (according to English standards), a splendid common room, generous typical breakfast and really friendly and helpful managers. Thanks for the welcome.

Delightful tearoom within a B&B. The pot of tea of two was huge and satisfied even my thirst for tea. The scones were delicious and served warm. Loved the option of being able to choose a full size piece of cake or a bite size piece. Would potentially have liked slightly more jam with my scone but that’s only a minor quibble. Would definitely return when we are next in the area.

We visited Arduthie House this week as part of a day trip to Stonehaven and had a really lovely lunch. Although there are tables inside, we opted to eat in the garden surrounded by flowers. The staff were all helpful and friendly and the service was good. The menu was not huge (which I prefer) but had some different choices. I went for the vegan platter which was really good - lots of home made nibbles, some fresh fruit, salad and homemade chutney and flapjack. Tea was served in a china cup. My husband had the bacon, brie and cranberry sandwich which also looked good - really fresh and accompanied by crips and salad. The whole place was clean and looked fresh. Only one small "gripe" - there was no check in for track and trace which was a bit surprising and although we were outside, we did both use the indoor facilities so check in might have been advisable. Otherwise though a really good visit and I would recommend to anyone.

I overheard one of the waitresses asking a mature voice (who i assume was a senior member of staff) if the out of date milk was okay to serve and the reply was yes. This is ridiculous as this could make someone seriously ill. The poor young waitresses also seemed rushed off their feet as there were only a few of them to cope with the huge numbers of customers. I could of cooked better at home and it’s overpriced.

There are definitely things about this place that people would like. It's situated up the hill from the main through road, and there are quite a few steps up through a big garden to the front door. Inside it comes across as very quaint. There are tablecloths on the tables and real china crockery. It has an air of genteel antiquity about it. I can well imagine why some people would like it. For my part, going in quite late in the day for a cup of tea and a cake, I didn't find anything to eat that particularly appealed to me, so I can't get too enthusiastic. I guess the moral is for everyone to try it and see.

The nicest Georgian/Victorian house in Stonehaven centre town. Lovely decorated, spacious room and bath overlooking the sea. They serve the perfect breakfast, and the house also works as a tea room. Lesley and Rod are just the kindest people and they make you feel at home since you arrive, they also let you use the living room full of books and games, and comfy sofas and a piano and guitars, also whisky and sherry. On top of all that, as we had not been able to see Dunnottar Castle during our stay, Lesley took as in her car and from there to the train station where we had a train to catch. We will always treasure our stay in Arduthie House, a home away from home.

Have just spent the afternoon in the company of my dear friend and to celebrate her birthday, treated her to an afternoon tea. The tea was excellent in every way and we were served by attentive and well trained young waitresses who offered us a selection of teas and coffees whilst our choice of freshly prepared sandwiches were being made. The food came beautifully presented on a 3-tier china cake stand. We received dainty sandwiches (crusts removed), scones and pancakes with cream and jam and a multitude of delicious bite sized cakes, all of which were home-made, freshly baked and attractively garnished with fresh fruits. The Arduthie House tearoom is run by a lovely couple who work extremely hard. I have had morning coffees and lunches there previously and each time the service is excellent and food delicious. They also give very good value and just take the time to ensure you have a lovely experience. I definitely recommend this "Ritz" of the north!

Visited for first time based upon reviews and wasn’t disappointed. There are a few steps at the entrance so be warned I’d like us you have a laden buggy. The menu had plenty of choice with the usual suspects - sandwiches, cakes, scones etc plus specials - macaroni cheese, goats cheese salad. Didn’t see a children’s menu but they offer small portions. Service was good (only gripe was our daughter (3) was left waiting for her food at each course (no idea why but this happens everywhere we go) food was lovely - we had quiche with salad. Generous portions all round and they offer smaller bites. If you’re looking for main meals this isn’t the place for you because it’s really a tea room but what they do is lovely. Recommended.

We were showed to our table and given menus to choose choice of tea and sandwiches. Tea was on endless supply, which was a good thing as we drank nearly 3 pots. My friend and I had lots to catch up on so even though we had been there 2 1/2 hours we never felt hurried. Sandwiches were lovely and a great selection of cakes. Even asking for raspberry jam instead of strawberry jam (due to allergy) was no trouble at all. Attending a funeral and just about everything handled well. Only thing I would suggest is when those not going to graveside and waiting in Lounge no Bar was visible so maybe a member of Bar staff could have had quick walk around as most were either elderly or maybe hampered with use of walking sticks etc or those not comfortable going up to a Bar to order and see if anyone wanted anything. More sales and more happy customers....

I had a lite bite haddock supper with mayonnaise. I chose the breaded option for the haddock as I'd never had that before but I did enjoy it and it will be my order of choice from now on. My food was delivered to me as I waited in my car outside. One criticism would be the portion size I received. Yes, I did order the lite bite option but when I got to my destination and sat down to enjoy my meal I was quite surprised at the amount of food within. I would hope for some more chips and a slightly larger piece of fish if having this option again. Next time I'll try a standard supper to see how it compares. My first visit to this well presented chippy.

Good food. A good range of meal options. Staff friendly and efficient. As it is situated away from the town centre and is part of the golf club, it is peaceful. There weren't any children during our two separate visits, mainly older golfers. Not that I mind children, but if you want a more peaceful lunch, it is a goo7d place to go. You may have a slightly longer wait as food is freshly cooked. It's not a problem when you can relax and enjoy the nice trees and greenery around the golf course.
