Sunday Roast had very good reviews and we certainly were not disappointed. There was a choice of three meats, a vegetarian and a fish dish. Beautifully presented the vegetables were freshly cooked and seasonable. So glad not to have red cabbage! Really good quality produce and very well prepared. The management and other staff are friendly and enthusiastic. Very tasteful deco and a nice setting. (Google maps tend to direct cars to the gated entrance but there’s an easier entrance on the other side of the property.). We will definitely return.

Duck liver parfait was really good, pity it was served with white toast. but the port soaked fig as an accompaniment was lovely. Sunday roast was beef for me and pork for hilary were perfectly cooked. Loads of veg on the side. Potatoes could have been crispier, but overall very good value. The lemon posset was light and tart, and finished the meal nicely.

We fancied a quality meal that was close to where we would be on the north Norfolk close, and chose Blakeney House based on reviews. The House had a quiet almost 'closed' feel to it when we arrived at about 6pm, which was a little disconcerting, and getting parked was surprisingly difficult - the car park is small, and other areas were not signed. The staff were very friendly and polite, and although the menu is small (limited) we sourced options for a meat eater, a vegetarian and a child with no problems. One very helpful staff member even sourced vegetarian wine, and his attentiveness was appreciated. The food was delicious, and both the starters and mains were of a good size and packed with flavour - so really no complaints. That said, the children's option (pasta) lacked imagination and was a little bland (and I thought the portion was small); we shared our grown-up food so all was good. We didn't complain because the moment had passed and little people don't like delays! Dessert and coffee was fine. The restaurant had a homely and very clean feel to it, but the atmosphere was initially very subdued, although it improved a little when more diners arrived. Overall, the food was excellent (as was the service), and we couldn't really fault it, but the children's option didn't hit the mark. We would certainly return in the future and we had a thoroughly pleasant early evening.

Visited this restaurant last night April 20th with two friends. I can truly say it was the best dinner I've had out in a VERY long time. And I eat out a lot. The flavours, quality of the food, and the presentation were first class. Excellent wine, and all at amazingly reasonable pricing. I only wish I could visit more often - but it is a 2 hr drive! Will definitely return when next visiting Norfolk. Well done you Super Chef.

Beautifully decorated restaurant, great location and pleasant staff. A bit dejected to find nothing on the menu was vegetarian (two of our party of four was veggie). We were brought a mushroom risotto which was a bit bland, to be honest (no other choice was offered). The reviewer who believes this to be a fine dining experience in a stately home with an executive chef clearly ate somewhere else. A very restricted main course choice for vegetarians and when will restaurants learn we don't all want goats cheese! My unfortunate intolerance to mushrooms ruled out the main course on offer of risotto. I was advised with a level of irritation that Chef would have to prepare another veg risotto from scratch, presumably as an alternative to the pre prepared frozen one. I felt I was inconveniencing the whole dining experience for the staff The dish that arrived was soggy lumps of rice, floating around with a few peas in a dark brown broth like substance. It tasted as unappealing as it looked. My friends enjoyed their offerings which, given the cost of our inclusive package, was comforting. It was a matter of chilly indifference to the manager and cook that I didn't. Poor standard and customer service.

This stunning property is a stately home on the outskirts of Blakeney, wonderfully private where you can enjoy a drink in the garden or inside the house whilst looking through your menus at the gastronomic delights that the executive chef will serve on the day. The menu has a wide selection of offerings from meat, fish and vegetarian. It is clear that everyone who works at this fine dining restaurant takes tremendous pride in their work and knowing that you are happy, is a primary concern. You are set in a beautiful dining area with intimacy and background music, whilst feasting over the fine and sumptuous delights of the day's menu. Truly a gastronomic experience, I was pleased that I booked in advance as this is a reservation only restaurant. A great combination of flavour, taste and creativity in cooking. Ate here on our 2nd night of 2 at Blakeney house and enjoyed a decent meal. Service was good and the atmosphere ok for a small restaurant. My wife and I both had 3 courses all of which were pretty good and nothing was left on the plates which is always a good sign. The only draw back was we were asked if we could order in the morning for the evening meal, which I understand helps with orders/over ordering etc but always slightly concerned that food is not then cooked on request, and either kept warm or re-heated, BUT in saying that the food was still pretty good, and is an good addition to a lovely place to stay. Nine of us eat at the Blakeney House Hotel and it was wonderful. The service was superb, nothing was too much trouble and it created such a lovely jolly atmosphere. The house lends itself to comfortable intimate dining and the food does not disappoint either. We had a range of foods to choose from designed for vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters. Seared Scallops were great and our host was so generous in sharing out the portion from one guest who could not make it at the last minute but had paid for the meal in advance. Sadly it was good she did not come as her dear father died only days later. But we had the benefit of a reduced bar bill and more pudding as well. It was very kind of the owner. The only surprise was the tempura veg was supposed to be served with fresh coriander rice and came with potatoes and a yummy tomato sauce. We were all happy to eat it. The lemon posset was smooth as silk and just the right tartness and the home made Sticky Toffee pud was perfect. Thank you for being such a great place to eat. We will definitely be back.

What a lovely evening we had at the Blakeney House Bay Tree Restaurant. Tucked away in a narrow driveway in the middle of town it is easy to miss, but if you do you will be sorry. We sat outside on a beautiful summers evening. The menu offered many tasty dishes that we like and best of all our vegan friend was completely catered for with her own special meal that had been arranged before we arrived. The food combinations are good and all of us enjoyed what we ate. My only slight disappointment was I asked for rack of lamb “as rare as chef would recommend” and it came medium – nothing pink in sight. Not what I expected but it still tasted lovely with the delicious sauce and veg so was very happy to eat it. There was a good selection of wines all fresh and just the right temperature by the bottle or glass. The service was so excellent. There is no doubt we will be back and looking forward to more tempting treats from the lovely Louise and Paul Delamain. Good luck to them, I hope they do well, they have everything in place.

We stayed for 2 nights in Feb 18 for the valentine's offer on the winter menu. This was our 4th visit in as many months. The restaurant is open to non residents & is growing in popularity. This is down to many things. Firstly Blakeney House is set in a tranquil location, 1/5 of a mile up the hill from the White Horse. The restaurant is relaxed, good background music & intimate with candle lit tables & you're not crammed in tightly next to other tables like elsewhere. The hotel is fully licensed with a selection of bottled beers & a good quality wine list. Relax with a pre/post dinner drink in the adjacent lounge again overlooking the garden. Tristan the chef produces versatile, imaginative high quality dishes which once you've sampled you'll be desperate to go back again for.

All staff are very friendly, polite & helpful, from the welcome on arrival to being served breakfast & dinner. A hidden treasure we found this while staying in Blakeney last year and went for afternoon tea, we were so impressed with everything that this year we booked for 2nights. The rooms are very clean and well thought out,and lovely decorated. The staff, and owners, are always ready to please.the breakfast is something you must have, and the evening meals were so nice that we stayed in for the two nights we were there as was so much to choose from and my wife could not decide between two meals.

Nice food and decor. BUT Heart FM radio, pinging microwave and we were expected to entertain the proprietors children playing at waiters for the evening in a near empty restaurant. Not worth paying a babysitter for. Fortunately super fast service.

Had a delicious meal there last night. Everything was hot, cooked perfectly and superb service. This slightly hidden gem is on Blakeney high street but set back a little, so is not as busy as it deserves to be. We had a relaxing drink in their lovely chilled out lounge, followed by our 5 star meal. Our waiter was attentive without being intrusive and the owner very friendly. The price was good as well for the standard of the food.

The food and venue together with friendly service was excellent. We booked for 7.30 pm expecting to find a busy exclusive restaurant, what we experienced was a lovely evening dining in the company of the owner Paul and his family. We had the Crab, which was superb, followed by sticky toffee pudding and Cream Brulee, both were very good. We will definitely come back

We had a lovely meal here on Saturday evening- the garden is beautiful where we sat and were served with pre- dinner drinks. The service is top notch - attentive yet friendly and unpretentious - and now - on to the food!

Looks like it had been closed for some time, door unlocked and disheveled inside. It’s a shame the signage doesn’t make that clear. We wasted a lot of time parking and walking there!

A proper little hidden gem. Not one for the hipster crowd - its not 'cool' or 'quirky', but it's a real authentic seaside cafe - certainly somewhere to go if you love mounds of delicious breakfast foods served with a smile! We'll be back....

The food was very good well cooked and presented, we had to wait for a while before our order was placed, however it's a busy local pub which caters for holiday makers also so this could have been the reason for the wait. Cheerful and pleasant staff, I would certainly eat there again.
