The best restaurants in North Norfolk East of England

What a lovely place! Staff could not do enough for my friend and I. We had afternoon tea, all home made and just delicious! Lovely selection of drinks, freshly made food. Cutest China! Will definitely return! Thank you 😊

We went with friends for a Sunday roast dinner and we weren’t disappointed the food was excellent the staff were very attentive and friendly. We will be booking again very soon

Four friends having a girls night out. What fantastic food and service. Meals were cooked to perfection, really generous portions and all home cooked. Delicious. Staff were amazingly helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a great night - were last to leave . . . We were not rushed out. Thank you for a superb evening.

I was on holiday by Cromer and thought we’d give this cafe a try as we had our shih tzu (yogi) with us and didn’t want to leave him out of the holiday!! This place is lovely and had a great atmosphere all around the restaurant. I was very impressed with the gorgeous decorations around the restaurant. You can definitely tell that the staff are very experienced in what they do as well as they looked after yogi very well and had a very positive attitude towards customers! Hope I’ll visit again sometime! Thank you! 🐶💕

Bonito café con excelente selección de pasteles y comida casera. Pequeño e íntimo, pero muy acogedor. Vale la pena ver si tienen una mesa antes de ir a otro lugar, o tal vez una comida para llevar y sentarse junto al río. Muy recomendable.

Es más allá de mí por qué éramos las únicas personas que almorzaban aquí. La comida es maravillosa y fresca, sin cosas prefabricadas. camarera encantadora sonriente. Este lugar debe estar lleno en un almuerzo del sábado.

We were delighted to know the restaurant was open for lunch and booked a table for us as we were staying at the hotel but invited a local friend to join us for lunch. Great welcome and enjoyed pre lunch drinks in the lovely and comfortable lounge. Lunch was great and there was plenty of food with lots of vegetables, all hot and fresh. The kitchen is open and you can see in from the restaurant which is reassuring. Excellent choice of wines and drinks. We were able to return to the lounge after lunch and continue enjoying more drinks. The team are well organised, polite, friendly and very helpful. The service could not have been better. A huge thank you to Sally, Joanna, Sophie and the rest of the team. Well done - can't wait to come back but don't want to wait another year!! Sal Jones

This is the 4th time we have dined at Meadowsweet since it opened in 2020. We have loved every visit and we agree with other reviewers that it is getting better and better. From start to finish the experience is outstanding. A relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, impeccable friendly service, beautiful and delicious food with courses that change regularly - yesterday there were two courses that were new this week, including the most incredible trio of strawberry dessert - and a good wine list that covers a range of prices (i.e. not all super pricey). It seems clear that this is run by people who are at the top of their game and love what they do, and that makes it easy to love it too. I had a smile on my face all evening! I am coeliac and felt catered for just as well as my non-coeliac husband. Their home made bread, both normal and gluten free, is some of the best bread we have ever eaten! It’s a 2hr journey for us so we always do their dine and stay option - rooms are comfy and well appointed with nice touches of luxury, and we feel it’s well worth it for an amazing night away. This is in my top 2 Michelin star restaurants in the UK: I cannot recommend it enough.

Chose Oh Crumbs purely at random. Good choice - very tasty Cromer Crab sandwiches on brown. They have a serving hatch off the pavement a few yards from the River Burke bridge approach. Placed order through window, waited a few minutes then order arrived. Went and ate on a bench by the bird feeding area next to the bridge. Would recommend.

What a gem. On the Rebellion Way bike route, we had coffee and cake each day (obvs) and this place provided the best of both during 5 days/ coffee stops in Norfolk. Great service too.

The food was absolutely top class. One of us had a roast with all the trimmings and it was perfection. The other had the vegetarian vegetable tart and it was excellent - and the roast parsnips and potatoes couldn’t have been better. Really impressed. Lovely service too.

Completely agree with all the other reviews. A unique place. If only other catering at outdoor destinations was this good. Lovely service too.

What a lovely little place! We were staying in the area with no clue on where to eat. The place we were staying in had left a few takeaway leaflets and we saw that this place had a restaurant. We never would have found this place if we hadn't seen the leaflets. The restaurant was small but welcoming with a very good selection on vegan ( and regular ) dishes. Very friendly helpful staff. Lovely food. Overall a very nice experience. We hope to come back one day
