We had an ice-cream and sat at one of the little tables overlooking the swimmers in the sea. It was idyllic. It was clear that whoever runs this place takes a lot of care eg there was a pretty butterfly figurine in the lavender pot on each table - a small touch but it tells you something. Lovely place. Highly recommended.

Good place for a coffee or snack. We had just walked on the coastal path from West Runton and were glad of refreshments on a sunny but breezy day.

Absolutely the best coffee and waffles in Norfolk and it’s always such a treat to go for a morning walk and then to the East Beach - the strawberry waffles are simply amazing and the coffee is perfect. Brilliant friendly service and the best view in the world !

The waffles and pancakes are lovely, and what a view to eat them with! But on several occasions, we have tried to visit, their Facebook page said they were open, only to find the hut closed up. Would be really helpful if they could be clearer with opening times (eg often closed on Mondays and Tuesdays) particularly on their own social media pages - would save a wasted journey.

Stopped here for a couple of drinks. Such a nice place to sit right by the sea and a great choice of crepes and waffles with different toppings. We had a banana and ice cream crepe which was delicious. The owner has done a fab job in this place. Wish it served wine or cocktails too

We visited today for the first time whilst out for a walk. Customer service was excellent. All of the ladies serving were very friendly and polite, as were the young lads who were cleaning tables after every customer. We enjoyed savoury and sweet crepes which were all really tasty. A small but very tasty menu of crepes and waffles. A perfect spot with a wonderful view of the sea meters in front. I would highly recommend.

I visited here with my husband for a mid-week day out. We have never visited this establishment before. We parked up in the town and walked down. It was maybe a fifteen minute walk along the seafront. We had been down by the sea for a while and wanted a coffee and an ice-cream. This was literally on the seafront where we had been sitting so decided to try here. We got an iced-coffee and a 99 ice cream each. We sat on some benches that looked out along the coastline. I couldn't think of a prettier place to eat. You order and pay up front at the kiosk and then wait for your order. The 99s and coffee were tasty but they are quite generic items and taste the same wherever you go, really. It's the view here that makes the place. If we were sat in this area of the beach again, we would definitely go back.

They even put a candle in my son's waffle when they found out it was his birthday. We'll be back soon. X

This restaurant, within the hotel, but open to the public, is perfect. The service was excellent, friendly and professional. The food was exceptional - beautifully presented and very tasty. We can see why it is so popular with the locals and we look forward to eating here again - simply a great experience!

This is a very special hotel indeed. Kept, by its exuberant owner, in 1920’s style in homage to Agatha Christie who used to stay there. Full of old pictures and bits and bobs. Our bedroom ( medium size) was very comfortable with fun roll top bath but has modern amenities as well. But was next to the kitchen extractor fan which was noisy until 11 pm All the staff, mainly young people, were outstandingly helpful and polite. Nothing was too much trouble and it was the type of service I haven’t seen for many years. Well done. It is also highly popular , and full the nights we were there. Largely I suspect because of the combined dinner, bed and breakfast offerings. At very good value for money. The food was generally delicious and fresh. Duck, halibut, sea trout and the local crab and lobsters were outstanding but the “locally caught king prawns which, like the lobster, were landed today “ were obviously frozen as were tasteless and they ( king prawns) don’t live in UK waters. That was the only disappointment on the menu, which I wouldn’t have mentioned except they had been really hyped up by the enthusiastic person I assume was the owner. Good well chosen wine list and fine cocktails The reason I haven’t given five stars is with the regimented way guests eat. Severe set 25 minute table timings for breakfast and dinner. I do understand that the kitchen needs to be paced to cook such good food to order, but the timings on offer were not good for many of the customers. By the time we arrived to check in at 3pm after a long drive we had to settle for a 6.30 supper and 9.15 breakfast. The next day breakfast wasn’t available until 9.30 … hopeless for anyone who works or has to leave earlier.. and I overheard two couples saying their 6.30pm slot was far too early for dinner , but that was all that was left because the best table times had already been given to people from outside who had booked in for a meal. You are asked to go to the bar half an hour before your meal where you receive some underwhelming amuse bouche and are expected to buy a drink whilst perusing the menu. This is to help the chef timings but also allows for tables to be turned over and reset. The last day we were there the small bar was over crowded and we had to wait an hour to be shown our table. Service was then very slow. I just couldn’t eat rich food at 9pm having waited by then two and a half hours. So because I prefer more personalised service and eating at a time that suits my stomach, and I like to be sat at my table and not held in a “ holding pen” this is not an experience I personally wish to experience again. Having said that I realise that this hotel really does suit many of its guests, who really loved it. So it’s only my own opinion and I suspect I’m in a very small minority
