This is what all pubs should be!. Warm, welcoming, great staff, and the food is absolutely faultless. It is our ‘go too’ for lunch, the burgers are amazing, and with home made proper chips!! .

Second visit to pub ( 6 + dog) - thought could not get any better BUT IT HAS 👍🏼 Dinner for six absolutely perfect foot / atmosphere and hosts , special shout for Sarah could not have been nicer. As before small menu / local products only problem wanted whole menu👍🏼 Some relief I live 6 miles away otherwise I would be in this pub every night 😂 Already planning return visit VERY Well done

When was the last time you had dinner with a proper napkin and napkin ring?! Had a really lovely evening, highly recommend the goats cheese starter, steak, rice pudding and ice cream. Everything home made. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. If you like William Morris, you’ll love the decor!

Hi, we decided to go for a five mile walk around Alborough, Thwaite and Alby, I booked a table at the cricketers on the green in Alborough and what a result it was, beautiful village pub on the green with fantastic outlook as we sat outside, great ambience in the pub, exceptional staff who couldn't do enough for you and top it all off the food was served hot and absolutely delicious, portion sizes were incredible, by far the best Sunday lunch for a long time. Extrodinary food Small menu ( in my opinion that’s good sign ) some of the best food ever had in pub or restaurant. Food local supplied Cozy / friendly , delightful village and hosts . Will return . YOU need to visit

Went for dinner, three of us. We had the Katsu chicken and Lamb Koftas for starters. The Katsu chicken was to die for! They need to sell that sauce in a jar because I would stock up my cupboards with it. The Lamb kofta was delicious and the red pepper sauce was again, something I would take home in a jar. For mains we had Lobster risotto which my daughter absolutely loved. My other daughter had the chicken, she likes very plain food as a rule, but she demolished the Katsu chicken and then the chicken main. The chicken was cooked to perfection! For vegetarians there is the Bang Bang Cauliflower which I would highly recommend. I have never tasted cauliflower like that before, it was incredible. Desserts were white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake and the salted caramel roulade, again, demolished and absolutely delicious. Cannot rate this place highly enough. The staff and owners are so friendly and looked after us very well, the pub is lovely with seated areas outside. Theres often cricket games going on so that's fun to watch with a drink outside too. Very worth the trip out to Aldborough.

Having been recommended to visit by a friend, we were excited to end a couple of nights away at this lovely pub. We received a warm and genuine greeting from the landlady who had reserved us a prime window seat table which we were very happy with. We’d already eyed up the Cricketers burger online and not only did it sound incredible, when it arrived it truly matched our expectations. It was cooked perfectly with bacon and cheese, with homemade chips and freshly made coleslaw. Whilst there was no children’s menu as such, our two boys were treated to mini versions of our burgers which they confirmed were the best burgers they’d ever had. Dessert was incredible too. Rich homemade salted caramel ice cream to die for, freshly cooked waffles and generous portions! A perfect way to end our lovely meal. Whilst the reason for our visit was due to the fact we were on a mini break staying at nearby Deers Glade, thankfully we only live 35 minutes drive away in Norwich so we will definitely be coming back! Fantastic warm and friendly service and by far the best pub meal we have had in a very long time.

wwo glad we found our way to this pub for a late lunch 7 plus a baby and 2 dogs were made very welcome. the food was excellent, to me the star was the ribeye steak flatbread which was perfectly cooked and came with the cricketers salad. This salad was one of the most impressive I have had and ive eaten in a few mitchelin resturants in my time. it had a wide variety of different leaves/lettices and other ingredients with a perfect dressing. A simple dish but executed wonderfully. home made icecream and fantastic stawberries finished off the meal. Lunch was good value and entertainment provided by 2 American F-15s dog fighting in the skies above and a Chinook making low passes over the village.

We’d been waiting patiently for the pubs burger and homemade chips ( these really are homemade !) to make a return to the menu, and this month we struck lucky 😊. Good food, a warm welcome, a good old fashioned pub atmosphere, what’s not to like. 👍

We came across this lovely pub on the way to Sheringham from Blickling Hall and popped in to see if they could fit us in for lunch. They were very accommodating and made room for the 4 of us and our 3 dogs, despite the fact that they were busy. 3 of us had the sweet potato and peanut curry and 1 the sausage and mash, these arrived in good time and were very tasty. We made room for dessert, the orange chocolate cake was absolutely scrumptious and one of the softest sponges I've ever had! This was all washed down perfectly with a pint of ThreeoneSix. All the staff were very friendly and eager to ensure we were happy with our food and drinks. We really enjoyed our visit and hope to come back soon!

What a fantastic pub in a lovely setting on the edge of the village green. This pub has very friendly and efficient staff. We had a delicious Sunday lunch served promptly to our table of ten, nothing was too much trouble. Rest assured we will be back, thank you.

A family party of us stayed in the village for 30th birthday weekend and our first call was to the Cricketers on Friday night, what an excellent choice we made. We returned on Saturday night and for Sunday lunch and are pleased to say everything about this pub is perfect. Kent, Julie and all the staff showed what a proper well run country pub should be like. This is our second visit and it did not disappoint. Excellent flavourful food , well cooked and although the choice is limited it is all the better for it! The pub itself has a great ambience and had a mix of a few locals and people eating. They also have a very good range of beers and they are well kept. The landlord and lady are also very welcoming and take time to chat to you. Highly recommend as is their roast dinner which we had on a previous visit!

Staying with friends and treated to drinks and lunch. Super friendly owners and staff, proper lamb roast with the best vegetables I’ve eaten outside of home- perfectly cooked to order with loads of taste. I urge you to make the trip if anywhere near….

Booked for an early Saturday lunch. We were warmly welcomed and how refreshing to get a really good menu choice - something for everyone. The red pepper hummus with lamb and flat breads was absolutely delicious and the bruschetta was so fresh tasting. Two burgers and one rib eye (with real field mushrooms) followed - just glorious. I wish my eyes were not larger than my stomach, either that or I should have requested a doggie bag for the rice pudding I did not have enough room for. Best I have tasted for a very long while. I am assured the creme brulee and chocolate/orange cake were just as good - at least they managed to finish all theirs! Loved it.

This pub has warm and welcoming staff and a very nice ‘feel’. We chose to have burger and chips ( hand cut really means HAND CUT!) they make such a difference, no frozen food here! The burger was absolutely delicious, the chips absolutely delicious, we will return soon, at last a country pub that serves good honest food well cooked with a smile from the staff.

A lovely unspoilt typical country pub in a great location. The staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble and they had a good knowledge of their menu. There was a good selection on the lunch menu, our choice of which was of excellent quality, fresh ingredients cooked to perfection, portion size, presentation and value for money was very good. It was refreshing to enjoy a meal of such a high standard having experienced more of a poor standard and value for money in recent years elsewhere. We would definitely recommend this pub for lunch and will be returning in the near future to sample an evening meal.

We had such a wonderful evening at the cricketers and will definitely be returning on a regular basis. As soon as we walked in we were welcomed by the beautiful landlady Julie. The bar and restaurant is beautiful and cozy. We were told there was no rush and to enjoy our table all evening. The food was absolutely delicious and was obviously made with fresh produce and by amazing chefs. The chef asked us if everything was okay for us which I thought was a nice touch. Obviously we gave our compliments. The bar staff were also very friendly and made sure we were kept topped up. To finish the evening Julie thanked us with a lovely glass of port each. We left feeling well and truly looked after. Thank you all so much for your hospitality. See you very soon!

We went to this pub out of curiosity having seen their sign on the main road out of Cromer, and, what a find. The loveliest pub, great food and beers, the nicest of people. No negatives and we highly recommend the Cricketers on the green.

Called in for a light lunch. We chose lamb kofta and olive and houmous bar snacks. All I can say is fabooulous! Cannot recommend it enough; plus hosts were so excellent in their welcome. Do go there, but still leave room for us!
