The best restaurants serving Thai food in North Norfolk East of England

Birthday treat from the wife...and what a treat....the food was truly amazing...the aromas coming out from the open kitchen simply mouthwatering...the first time we gave been here....and if I had my way...be there every week....well worth a visit...fantastic evening....well done and thznk you....see you very soon.

The restaurant is small and sparsely decorated but the food was truly delicious- there was not one thing that I tasted there that wasn’t excellent- I don’t live far and will try the take away menu on another occasion- but would highly recommend

Came here on new years eve and enjoyed the set menu. Normally we prefer to order Thai food a la carte, however we were not disappointed . Fantastic quality food, clearly all totally freshly cooked. Having eaten all over Thailand over many years can honestly say this is truly authentic and incredibly tasty food. Everything was delicious. All of the staff were great, friendly knowledgeable and polite. The atmosphere was cosy and intimate. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend you won't be disappointed.

We found this Thai restaurant on Tripadvisor and it was as good as the reviews. The menu was vast and everything was homemade. Portions were a good size and everything was delicious. If you don't like the food spicy, just tell them when you order otherwise it might come a bit too spicy for you. We had the Som Tum, which was very spicy, but authentic. The crispy beef was yummy, the spring rolls filled with Larb chicken a must. We were lucky to have crab fried rice and we had that with sizzling king prawns. We will definitely go back when we visit Norfolk again.

Had a takeaway from the pinewoods site. Portions aren’t large and it’s not cheap. The spring rolls and satay chicken, with duck noodles were the hits. Shame the gosh cakes didn’t come with usual dipping sauce I’d expect but instead given sweet chilli.

We had jjust finished a wonderful trip on the North Norfolk Railway's Christmas lights special and wanted a meal locally - being Tuesday many establishments were shut. We had been referred to Chai Yo by one of the NNR staff and so went along. The place opened at 5pm and it was 7pm when we arrived - and it was empty. Nevertheless we went in and received a very warm greeting. The service was superb and the choices (as often in a Thai restaurant) were huge. We chose Tempura vegetables, vegetable Pad Thai, king prawns in garlic and Laarb (diced chicken 'salad' in thai spices, lemongrass and citrus (very hot). It all came out at once, as asked for, and was, simply, fantastic. Great flavours in everything. The tempura batter was so light I'm surprised it did not float. The food was perfectly cooked, nice and hot (temperature) and the spice heat was perfect. Accompanied by a glass of pinot grigio and jasmine tea (I was driving) we were left amazed, gratified and full. When the bill came for £55 we were also very happy - great food, great service and great price. Next visit to Sheringham we will book a table. This is honestly the best Thai I have tasted in the UK bar none.
