It was a disappointment and to be frank a disaster being forgotten about and the lady that owns or hosts it was not apologetic at all she was quite frankly of an attitude that she could not care at all when explaining that we waited an hour and ten minutes and was told we had been forgotten, when it was not that busy, goodness knows if it was busy we would probably still be sitting there waiting still!! But on an air of caution the host was just merely worried about paying for hot drinks and trying to charge for a starters we did not have we had not eaten. I had to walk out. To top it off it was an anniversary so was doubly disappointed. Terrible experience, as a local I would certainly not recommend it now based on the experience I received and non existent customer service skills never again!!!

Great food at a very reasonable price. Don’t be fooled by the appearance of the pub as the hospitality and food far out weights the surroundings. Will be going back very soon. 👌🏻

The food is AMAZING! Just one waitress on and one chef and although there was a little wait, which we had been pre-warned about, it was the most amazing meal. Recommend the tempura and the pad Thai. Husband had ribs and sizzling duck. My mouth is watering thinking about it.

This has been a favourite for many years, unfortunately however, in recent times it has not been as good. The food is ok but not as excellent as before and I miss the traditional dress, aesthetics and heating plates.

Had a takeaway, am a regular and always look for to a Thai. However, food was not to usual standard, and unfortunately I won't be returning. Seafood panang lacked flavour and had a thick layer of grease on top, crab rice, again lacked flavour. Chicken pad Thai did not taste as it usually did. Such a shame as this is local to us and we used to enjoy it, it's expensive to risk having another poor takeaway.

Nice pub decor looks great and pub looks clean , staff seem really knowledgeable and polite . The prices for drinks are very expensive compared to other pubs in the area and the menu very limited . Food is very overpriced could be why was so quiet

Found Pub/ Restaurant on Brit Stop. Looks fairly unassuming from outside. Beer and bar welcoming, With friendly landlord and locals, made for a great evening. We dined in the restaurant , Thai food, as good as any I have had in Thailand! All in all a very good night!

The food was fantastic and I highly recommend the Penang curry which was probably the best I’ve had, though my wife had a green chicken curry, gluten & dairy free, which was superb with the coconut rice.

You enter what appears to be a really genuine old fashioned Pub serving really good beer and a friendly welcome from the Land Lord. You will have booked a table at what you thought was a Thai Restaurant when suddenly a charming Thai Waitress appears from behind a door blind and you will be ushered into an authentic Thai Restaurant where you will enjoy an excellent meal . Fantastic, need I say more.

This review relates to the Thai restaurant only and not the public house. Sadly, we just don’t understand the positive reviews. We’d read it was good, we wanted it to be good and hoped it would become our ‘go to’ takeaway. Unfortunately, it was shocking. Pad Thai was greasy with a detergent after taste as if the washing up liquid had fallen over in the tiny kitchen, the choice of two different main meals tasted exactly the same, strong coconut, cloying sweet, syrupy sauce and clearly budget chicken. We were hungry, very hungry but even in a state of famine we couldn’t be tempted past the first mouthful.

We ate here on the recommendation of the place we were staying and we are so glad we did. The place was busy - and I am not surprised given how great the food was. Despite this, we had our order taken promptly and drinks arrived soon afterwards. The food is all cooked fresh so there is a short wait, but that is to be expected and the same wherever you go. I can honestly say this is one of the best (if not THE best) Thai meals I have eaten. Truly delicious. The waiting staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful and I couldn't fault it - 5 stars!

Booked in advance for our holiday, on a busy Saturday night. The food was good but we had a huge wait between our starters and mains, we assume they got distracted cooking up takeaway orders. We left shortly before the 10pm curfew, and some people were just being served their mains. A little unhappy with Covid precautions. Staff were all wearing masks, but tables very close to others, and one party refused to wear masks when moving around.

We managed to get in last minute and I am glad we did. A very warm welcome with a lovely waitress who was cheery and smiley.Food was very tasty and great value. I'd come back again, or have a take away from this great Thai Restaurant.

Went to this venue during lockdown following great reviews. Masks worn and distancing in place it’s a lovely pub/restaurant with friendly landlord and staff. Brilliant menu for veggies including ‘Quorn’. As well as decent menu for meat eaters too. After being to Thailand on various occasions and loving Thai cuisine, this is one of the best and definitely worth visiting. Great gins in the pub too of various flavours and all locally sourced and well priced. When I come back I’ll definitely visit again and recommend.

The food was amazing a;; freshly cooked and came out looking fantastic. There were four of us on Saturday night and we really enjoyed the evening at The Ordnance Arms. The hardest thing was picking something from the menu as there is such a huge selection and different options. Watching the food coming out to the other tables every dish looked delicious. Ok so the service was a bit slow but we liked it. We had time in between each course to enjoy it and let the food settle a bit. The staff were all very friendly and looked after us very well.

My wife, myself and 4 friends were at the Ordnance Arms on Saturday evening. The food and service was absolutely incredible. A very comprehensive menu. If you like Thai food this restaurant is small but amazing. Looking forward to the next time.

Although we only ordered take away food, it was a large order for 14 people. We had to wait 1.5 hours but it was worth the wait. The food was piping hot, tasty & plentiful. We had all ordered differently & none of us was disappointed. Would recommend this place to try authentic Thai food.

I visited the Ordnance Arks on Christmas Eve. I think it must be under new management as the food and service used to be excellent, but it’s gone downhill fast!We arrived and were immediately told that they were very very busy (there were 2 other tables, and no one came to collect a take away during the 3 hours we were there). We sat down at 7:30 and ordered our drinks and food - the drinks arrived half an hour later (bottle of wine, a beer and a glass of sparkling water). The starter arrived just before 9 - we were starving by this point and the food was good - but I would’ve eaten anything after such a long wait. When the starters were cleared we were immediately given hot plates for the mains - great, they must be coming soon. The plates were stone cold when the mains finally arrived. The staff couldn’t tell us what we had ordered when delivering the food and just guessed that some dishes were “chicken something”. There was a spare table that the staff were collecting all of the dirty plates on rather than clearing away to the kitchen and we had to add our own empty plates and glasses to this as they were not cleared. The meal was ok, the service was atrocious and it did not make for a very festive Christmas Eve. All in all very disappointing, especially as it used to be good!

My husband and I went there on Saturday evening for dinner.One word....Amazing. The food was out of this world. Whether you like food with a spice kick or very mild, there is something for everyone.The people who own and work there are so lovely. Nothing is too much trouble. If Thai is your fave food, you will not be disappointed. Can't wait to return.

It may be a one off due to staff issues, but the order was an hour late and the food was dreadful. Having previously never had a bad meal here before, during previous ownership, I’ve now had my worst Thai meal ever. All three dishes were dry, tasteless and seemed very rushed. Hugely disappointing.The owner apologised for a staff issue, but should of made us aware when we ordered-it’s pointless taking orders and serving that.

A group of us popped in this evening, as we were driving by. Didn’t know what to expect. The food was fresh and delicious. The staff were attentive. Spoke to the owner who only took over 10 weeks ago. Recommend this place highly!

We had been recommended this Thai restaurant and had high hopes. Unfortunately, two members of staff had called in sick and, as a result, service was appallingly slow, given that all tables were full.The young lady who served us was clearly doing her best but was overwhelmed.The food was ok, without being spectacular, and did not come up to expectations. I don't want to do it down too much but would merely say that we have had better Thai food elsewhere.The ambience is pleasant and fairly intimate. This is not a large place.My wife's requirement for gluten-free food was understood and met and full marks are given in this respect.The bill was a little higher than I would expect of such a restaurant, though not outrageous.We live 15 miles away and, I am afraid, do not consider that it will be worth making the journey again.

So Sorry to say, the day the new management took over i had a takeaway, i specifically ordered one dish - "Not Spicy!" Got home 7 miles and low and behold my daughter couldn't eat it, i tried it and i love spicey - it was hot, i mean 4 out of 5 hot! I phoned and complained and was told to come in one day and he will give me another dish - I have never bothered, but i know he would honour this - but there are other better places to eat Thai locally these days!

This is fairly local for us and until we booked we had not realised it was under new management. We had not visited for awhile and were glad we did, my wife and I had a really good meal with excellent service. For those who don't know it, it is a little out of the way but well worth the effort.

Having eaten at the Ordnance Arms on a number of previous occasions tonight’s experience was very disappointing. The pub and restaurant have recently changed hands and this evening they found themselves out of their depths. I understand there position with 3 employees on holiday however the service we received was poor. The Ordnance mixed platter is not as appetising as the former Royal starter. My starter arrived incorrect but was quickly rectified. After some delay the main courses arrived. Despite asking for no chilli in 1 dish 2 of the 4 dishes were heavily laced with chilli making them unenjoyable. The manager/ owner removed both from the bill but the poor service and unenjoyable mains will make us think twice about dining here on future visits to the area.

The food was rubbish and so was service. After dinner coffees came with gone off milk but no apologies or replacement. New owner's attitude absolutely appalling towards customer service.

Fantastic selection of dishes, catering for vegetarians, fish and meat eaters. We started with salt and pepper squid and Thai fishcakes which were both sublime. For main course we had a prawn red Thai curry and mixed seafood Massaman curry both were superb and what we would suggest was of mild to medium in terms of ‘heat’. Jasmine rice and noodles were lovely.

This restaurant / pub is under new management and I was very impressed with it. I had a beef Masaman curry which was very nice and tasty. The staff are very helpful , friendly, always willing to adapt to your requirements and also knowledgeable. The restaurant itself is cosy , with a snug feel to it and it is well decorated. Brilliant , well done Ordnance Arms ! and Thank you.

We’ve driven past The Ordnance Arms a few times and it’s not inspiring. Needing a meal in a hurry and driving past, we decided on a takeaway. Two adults and three upper-end teens, we ordered a drink at the bar while we looked at the menu. A helpful landlord behind the bar and a glimpse through to the restaurant changed our minds and we stayed to eat. Excellent food, plenty of it, including a platter of ‘sizzling fish’ to die for. Friendly, fast service. Very reasonably priced. We found out that the management has changed in the last week or so, and it really didn’t show in the standard of food or service. We are not local, but plan to return. The old saying “don’t judge a book by its cover” springs to mind.

Haven't eaten here for a while but heard it was under new management. It was their first night but the food was superb and all freshly cooked. We will be back!

The shared platter starter at £4.50 per head (min. 2 people) is an excellent introduction to an evening. However the main courses veer wildly from bland to over sweet, with nothing on offer for the savoury or hotter spice lover. Service was attentive but patchy in quality, a bit like you'd just disturbed someone from watching their favourite TV programme. Nice environment though.

Great food, great value. It's a small endearing restaurant and the staff are friendly and efficient. The giant prawns are amazing!

A Thai pub. Unexpected, but works wonderfully. Food excellent and beer the same. Go with an open mind as the decor remains rustic. You will be pleased.

Exquisite Thai cuisine in an authentic setting. There is a wide range of options and the proprietors try to tailor the quantities such as rice to your needs so as to not incur any unnecessary cost. We had a sharing starter and then a variety of dishes for main. All served hot on heated trays and efficient and speedy also. The desserts as in most Thai cuisine restaurants in our experience were very limited but tasty nevertheless. Nice beer and wine to complement the meal in this restaurant which seats a maximum of 30 so best to book.

It’s been a while since our last visit and it’s not the biggest restaurant about but it’s still what I and the family still consider the best Thai restaurant in Norfolk. The food always fresh and taste gorgeous. Staff always so friendly and helpful. Get out into the sticks of rural Norfolk and see for yourselves what a fantastic and reasonably priced meal you will not regret it, like I say it’s the best Thai restaurant in Norfolk.

This is our "special place" to go to locally for Thai food. Booking is a really good idea as the place is rightly very popular. Table space can be "compact" but the food is well worth it.

A lovely 'local' pub which is also an authentic Thai restaurant. Very reasonable prices and an astonishing selection on the menu wonderfully cooked. Varying opening times so check their website.

This is a very poor imitation of a Thai restaurant. The tables are crammed in, chairs stained, tablecloth reminds me of one when I was a child and made a mess - wipeable plastic! The food was not up to the quality of a good Thai restaurant. Really did not enjoy any of it. Chicken curry was disgusting all gristle. The egg fried rice was rice and a fried egg - what? The sauce for a green curry was very similar to our grey washing up water - also the plates were cold, service slow and ungainly, and being slow the first served ended up with cold food. The warmers on the table had no heating under them to keep hot, so it just did not work. Never ever again, McD is calling.

I am amazed at the ecstatic reviews for the food here; clearly i assume that most of them have never seen or eaten real Thai cuisine. Having said that it is a pub in the middle of Norfolk so I probably had unreasonable expectations.

Have eaten here upwards of 30 times and is always top drawer!! Also stunning value for the quality, will be back again this saturday!

Had a meal with my wife and mother who's a fussy eater. We all had a lovely meal and left saying that we will return again. Really nice.

Fun and quirky place to eat, reasonably priced drinks, very friendly atmosphere, cosy and clean, food was really hot and fresh, linen napkins and table cloths, thai crackers to begin with and a great choice of dishes.

The only downside to the ordance arms is that it is in the middle of nowhere but don't that put you off going there. The staff are fantastic and helpful with the food a very good standard and not overly priced.

By chance, we were recommended this restaurant during a weekend trip in Stibbard. The restaurant was fully booked. However, the staff were very friendly and helpful. They offered us a table in just over an hour window. I have to say I had the best BBQ King Prawn. The presentation was professional, yet not too flamboyant. The food was authentically Thai style. Highly recommend to anyone who visits the towns nearby. It's definitely worth making a table booking before showing up on a weekend evening.

This isolated restaurant is situated on the main Norwich to Fakenham road just past Guist and its mini Big Ben clock. On all the important stuff it scores heavily; service, food and value. A great place to eat.
