Popped in for lunch before driving home to Glasgow after arriving at Newcastle airport. Food is absolutely delicious! Baked potatoes were huge and very tasty. My husband raved about his soup and sandwich combo. Staff were so friendly and welcoming, wish I was closer to be able to pop back in!

Thought we would go out for breakfast and support a local business. Mistake! Place looked pleasant enough. Staff faffed about deciding which empty table to seat us at and then nothing. One member of staff just chatted to the people at another table and the other spent 10 minutes making one cup of coffee and then took.a takeaway order from some walk ins while we just sat there. Got up and left and went to our garden centre where we seated and served a very nice brealfast. So unless you are prepared to wait and wait and wait avoid this place!

I stopped at Jan's Kitchen on my way to Tynemouth for my brunch and as expected, I wasn't let down. My coffee and panini were really nice and not bad for £ 7 and the ladies in the cafe were really pleasant. Also I decided to have a scone for afters and at £ 1.80, this was well worth the money. I can see why people in Ponteland recommend Jan's Kitchen and the service is good and very friendly. However, as Jan's Kitchen is so popular, the car park can fill up outside quickly, although there is disk parking five minutes away.

Tinned Tomato’s and Mushroom, Watery baked beans no Hash Browns, fried egg was hard and the hard to digest granary bread toast. Quorn Sausages were ok, but the meal soon got cold as it had been put on to a cold plate.I would expect fresh grilled Tomato’s and Mushroom and beans in a proper sauce with hash browns. After an appointment in Ponteland, feeling greedy I looked for a breakfast. J Jans Kitchen looked inviting and hopefully cheap.Asked for a Veggie Breakfast with everything but meat, they did not advertise it but most places do them, and it seemed no problem to them.It was popular so customers must find it ok but not sure what the competition is like in Ponteland. No staff came to ask if everything was fine and it was not so much dreadful as not good. They would not survive in Cramlington or Blyth that’s for sure.Gordon, Cramlington

Arrived just before noon on Sunday September 9th. After consulting the menu, two of the party wanted sausage and I went to the counter to place our order. I was told that there was no sausage left! Bearing in mind that Sunday is a popular day for late breakfasts, I can only assume they must have been lots of demand for the product. However, Sainsbury’s is just across the road and Waitrose a five minute walk where sausages could have been sourced in an emergency. If you can’t provide what you are advertising on the menu then inform clients by placing a notice on the board so they don’t waste time as we did or by instructing the waiting staff to inform customers on arrival.

Fresh off a plane, jet lagged, hungry - you know the feeling. We were driving around looking for a place to eat (and we drove around for quite a while on those odd left-sided streets). We settled on Jan's and struck gold. I have never had such an amazing potato. My mom was in love with the coleslaw. It was such a filling & satisfying meal, great way to start off long months in a new country. We had wanted to have coffee and dessert, they looked extremely good but were so full that we couldn't manage it. My family says they'll come and visit me here in England just so they can swing by Jan's for dessert. I made them promise to come get me first.

Checked on TripAdvisor for somewhere near to a Newcastle Airport to have breakfast before our recent holiday and Jan's Kitchen was top of the list. I messaged and asked what they did for breakfasts and they promptly replied with what they have to offer, so off we set on the day of our flight and happily drove the extra 5 minutes past the airport. Well worth it too - everything was freshly cooked, beautiful and exceptionally good value for money. The place is very nicely set out and nipping clean and the staff are really friendly. Never again will we consider having anything to eat at the Airport (who wants to start their trip away with over priced awful food served by unwelcoming people at scruffy tables?) when we can use our time, money and satisfaction levels at Jan's. Cannot recommend highly enough. Many thanks.

Visited here yesterday afternoon for a take away coffee and cake. I ordered a hazelnut latte with one of their malteaser tray bakes and my husband ordered a flat white coffee. The cake was lovely, very dense and sickly enough for us both to share. I'm sorry to say but the coffee was awful. We both ended up having a few sips before pouring it down the sink. It was a really busy café so I'm unsure how this hasn't been mentioned before. There aren't many cafes with it being a small town but I won't return for a coffee again. The food looked nice and the dinners seemed to be enjoying it so perhaps it was a bad coffee bean day.

Really good value and all food is really fresh and tasty. I've had the baked potatoes with cheese and beans a few times too - these are lovely! This is a lovely little spot that offers great food at extremely reasonable prices, especially for 'posh' Ponteland! Though small it sits quite a few people without anyone feeling squashed, It has a great location for cyclists, especially if you are using the Reivers route as it is only about 30m off the path! Cakes looked good so will have to return to try them as we were too full on this occasion.

Friendly service and food is very reasonably priced. Does great buffets for all occasions as well. I should know I've ate at a few of them. Keep the good work up!

Played today, Mon 26th August, Great layout, but sadly the greens are diseased and awful, and the tee boxes are terrible, very expensive bar, and no food being served, even though there was a competition on, and the bar was busy, Sadly one to miss in the future.

We visited Hexham yesterday and found this café in the Market Place, after a lovely River Tyne walk. It was quite busy at 1pm but we didn't have to wait long for our table. The girls made us feel very welcome and worked so hard while we were there clearing tables and getting everyone seated as soon as possible. My husband had a bacon sarnie and I had a ham and mushroom omelette which was so light and fluffy, delicious. Coffees were great too. Plenty of choice on the menu and great prices. Doggy friendly too with a treat for pooch 🐾

What a welcoming, hospitable place. If you ever need cheering up, this is the place to go. We were made welcome immediately, and tony the owner had us in stiches from the start. Everyone there were so friendly, and what had started as an intended short visit, led to us staying to closing. Met some brilliant characters, who all just made our day. Dog friendly too, which was an added bonus to us. Can't recommend enough.
