If I could give 0 stars I would. Attempted to visit this pub for food after seeing the menu online and a food hygiene review in the window. Greeted by a bunch of farmers inside asking what we want, we said we were just waiting to see if food was being served. He said ‘nah no food at all here’ and the bar maid said ‘nope just crisps and nuts’ with an attitude, the other customers laughed us out the door. Very unfriendly, unprofessional and quite frankly rude behaviour from both staff and customers. Do not recommend at all.

Visited for family breakfast at Rhubarb Triangle, Wakefield which was absolutely fine. What really impressed was the attentive and caring nature of the staff who looked after the needs of a party of visually impaired people. Helped to their seating and dietary requirements identifed with such patience and kindness, their every need was met with such professionalism and kindness. An absolutely pleasure to witness and affirm that quality of service, care and empathy still exist in this day and age - well done to all the Rhubarb Triangle......exemplary.

I’ve reviewed the Bell Rock before but simply had to do it again. Last night, I had the best fresh battered chicken I think I’ve ever tasted. Crispy batter and it didn’t fall off the chicken. The chicken wasn’t chewy either. My other half had the regular battered fish and it was huge! The staff always greet you will a smile and hello.

Managed to get a table last minute and we were so impressed. One had the beef and the other the lamb Sunday roast. Delicious. The staff were super friendly despite the place being rammed. Well done to the kitchen team to pull this off on such a busy day. Would highly recommend.

Evan was brilliant. He suggested what wine & what to have for lunch. Would definitely recommend visiting! Great atmosphere and food was delicious. I have a nut & sesame allergy and Evan was able to advise and also let the kitchen know to prioritise my order!

My wife and myself went for the Afternoon Tea in the Honey Restaurant and it was a lovely experience. Nicely greeted on the ground floor and taken to the sixth floor restaurant. We were allocated a nice table and the Afternoon Tea with a glass of champagne was wonderful. The lady who served us was nice and friendly and was very attentive. After we finished out tea we were invited to go up a floor to the roof top bar which was very nice but we paid £43 for 2 glasses of mediocre Sauvignon Blanc wine which I thought was a bit steep even though we were in a 5 star hotel. My wife and myself both started work in this building for the Midland Bank back in 1977 so it was nice to go back and see that new life has been breathed back into this historic building. Also it seemed funny to us that the Club Brass on the top floor used to be our staff canteen for many years. Despite the expensive glass of wine I would strongly recommend the Afternoon Tea in this high class establishment.

Overall disappointing because half the experience is the ‘classic chip shop chip’ and we feel the chips here are definitely the frozen wholesale bagged, not on site machine peeled potatoes, then fried. Very disappointed. The two large cods had tasty meat but were ruined due to excessive grease/oil which was literally dripping out. The batter oozed oil and so had that white slime beneath it. So we couldn’t recommend this experience for that authentic chippy visit. We won’t return We paid £25 for 2 large cod, large + small chips and a mushy peas

I cannot recommend this place enough. The staff were very friendly and the food was amazing. The homemade pakora was exceptional and the portion sizes were huge with prices being reasonable. Had a stand alone gluten free menu which really made my coeliac daughters day as we had struggled at other places. If you get the chance you must visit this place!
