I've been here numerous times, it the place I use as for food and drinks when I'm in or around Dumfries. Staff are amazing and the locals are hilariously friendly.

Good atmosphere and dog friendly. Quizz night is fun too.

An absolute disaster! We ordered a table for two people there the day before for Sunday at 6 p.m. When we got there we found an almost empty pub and were told that the kitchen was closed on Sundays from 5pm. The best part was that we then drove to the Running Horse Inn and it is a brilliant restaurant! Good food at low prices and top service!

Lovely family meal. Delicious home cooked food, great service and a lovely cosy relaxed atmosphere. The steaks are cooked to perfection, and the puddings are absolutely delicious, and all homemade!

We had Bessie as our server and she was really good and was really attentive to our needs. The food was good and we really didn’t have long to wait to be served.will be back again

Don’t order the beef burger or the treacle tart. The duck was good. The baileys mousse is like angel delight if you like that kind of thing. The bread starter was good. The squid is too salty and not a lot of it. The service is amateur. There is a good view of the opposing hillside. The restaurant was warm.

Stopped off for a drink after our walk along the river Greta. Little busy due to Easter but got served quickly and sat in the sunshine

Very nice breakfast. It was easy to tell the meat (bacon & sausage) was of a higher quality. In the middle, with the pricing and felt it was good value for money. Would visit again.

Popped in off the M5 friendly pub and one that locals enjoy it seemed. Had some food and a couple of drinks - all very nice and enjoyable

Went to this public house yesterday for lunch, the food was absolutely excellent, the service was very, very good. The landlord has obviously put a lot of time and effort into the place we will defo be back

The first time I came here was on the 28th March 2025 and we booked a table for two at 18.00pm arrived and there was no one to greet us so had to wait to be shown our table when we were finally taken to our table we sat and waited 20 mins before we were offered a drink and menus in fact by the time we recieved our drinks and food the time was 19.30pm no apology whatsoever for the wait or offer to compensate for the wait after we finished our meals we waited another 30 mins to pay the bill but only after we took ourselves to the bar as we could easily have walked out without paying and now today 22/04/2025 came In for a drink and there was 4 staff behind the bar doing absolutely nothing so I placed an order on the Mcmullens app and sat on table 34 directly in front of the bar and ordered 2 drinks & a packet of crisps and 10 mins later still no order so asked a member of staff and she said the till roll was changed and didn't know anything about our order. This place is an absolute joke and will not be coming back again.

Liam was amazing on Saturday night. Very knowledgeable, extremely friendly.
