Thea the waitress was very polite and helpful. The rotisserie chicken was tasty however a few more fries would have been nice.

My husband and I went to the Prospect for Sunday dinner with friends. Everything was delicious and hot ,really good portions of vegetables all served separately which I preferred as I could have as much as I wanted without over facing myself. The gravy also comes separately in a gravy boat very tasty and again plenty of it! The staff were all lovely especially Chelsea Pi she was so attentive and full of smiles I would definitely recommend

We had a fantastic stay, free parking is always a bonus, we had a full breakfast which was order at the table, a great choice of food for every dietary need, the food was cooked fresh and was delicious. We will definitely choose to eat here again.

I had organised for my family to get together for My Mum’s 90th birthday I preordered most of the food as there were 40 + of us!! I contacted the manager who was working at the time (Sarah) Who I have to say went above and beyond to help us sort everything we weren’t disappointed we all enjoyed the well cooked and presented food big shout out to all the staff excellent couldn’t fault anyone thanks for everything

Brilliant place food is delicious and staff are very friendly and helpful love going here for carvery very cosy feel to pub and staff go out of there way to make you feel welcome we go at least once a month for a carvery and to chill out for a couple hours the food is excellent and so much veg to choose from you get to choice of 4 meats you can have 2 different meats plenty to go around 😀

We visited for a Mother’s Day meal after booking in advance. On arrival we were met me a pleasant member of staff who welcomed us and showed us to our table. Within 30 seconds a waitress came and asked us what drinks we wanted. We didn’t want alcohol so the choice was limited. Asked what alternatives they had, waitress didn’t really know but offered J2O or coke. There was also a note on the table telling us how long we had. I understand it was Mother’s Day and busy but felt this was not necessary. I’ve never been to a pub or restaurant and had this. We ordered drinks and 3 carveries and 1 kids pasta. Firstly the carvery was very good. The roast meats were cooked to perfection and the crackling was lovely. The portions were also very generous. The availability of the rest was great with a good choice of vegetables etc. My daughter’s pasta on the other hand was pretty awful. The bowl was scorching hot and the pasta was slushy mix of what was a tomato sauce and packet pasta. It wasn’t cheap either. We didn’t say anything at the time as my daughter didn’t want a fuss. I get that it was a busy day and carvery is your thing but alternatives have to be good. All in all the carvery was very good , the service was pleasant but a little rushed.

Lovely old pub, service poor very unattentive staff, not asked if we want any desserts or extra drinks, gone massively down hill since previous visits, won't rush back unfortunately

Lovely place with a great choice of wines, beers and cocktails. Nice menu offering well cooked English staples plus a few nice options. Roma are all en-suite and characterful. It’s a 3 star hotel but does much more. Excellent staff who have a great sense of humour! Breakfast is excellent and a large choice.

At The Springfield you can rely on great service and consistently good quality food. All the staff are both helpful, efficient and friendly. The management and team are always welcoming and accommodating, I can honestly say that we’ve not had a poor meal yet. A BIG shout out should go to Amanda in particular as she’s personable and always genuinely happy to help. Well Done!! Springfield

I was passing on my bicycle and dropped in for a thirst quenching drink. The staff were friendly, and I was served straightaway. I decided to sit in the garden as the sun was shining and the enclosed area had many tables to choose from. I enjoyed listening to the birdsong and felt the garden was pretty and well kept.

Thank you to the Railway Tavern for a great Sunday lunch today. We had a special family celebration and the pub was the perfect location. Great food, friendly service and a warm welcome from the staff. Definitely recommend this pub if you want quality food, good value and great service.
