Our waitress Ella was excellent.The food was first class. Our favourite restaurant for lunch.will be returning very soon.

Near to us and frequented regularly..as it was my birthday, we went with two of our close friends..my treat for dinner..we go out with them when each have our birthdays! Lucky for me as I was paying that our friends' wife is a shareholder in Mitchell and Butlers, who own this retaurant. 20% discount on the whole bill..not just food! Staff, as well as the Manger, with Ella and Sammy served us.. Manager particularly went to great effort..restaurant was very busy on a usually slack Thursday night.. so he checked to ensure all our choices were available. Only two of us had starters, mine the spicy chicken on a salad bed, my guest a soup..mains, were for the Ladies, a Wagu Burgar with fries and salad and the pork for the other..two sweets and coffees, with a total of 4 pints for the gents and two white wine and a glass of red for the ladies, with two coffees Given I had a voucher, with 20% off the whole bill, including alcohol, £130.00 total with a £20 tip..all good value in this friendly Restaurant / Pub. Try it ..if you're one of those diners who like a relaxed, good food and pleasant evening..you'll enjoy. If not..stay at home!

Comfortable setting for a bank holiday Monday. The lunch menu was varied and the food we chose was well presented and delicious, cooked with different herbs and spices to perfection. We were not rushed and 2 hours basically flew by. The young staff had obviously been well trained and were attentive. We immediately decided to return as soon as possible.

While my food was ok my friend got serious food poisoning after lunch at the Goffs Oak....I wrote to the pub but heard nothing so won't be back!!!!

We had a very pleasant lunch served by Hannah who was very attentive. Excellent menu and reasonable value for money. Good parking.

We are regular Sunday lunch visitors and this is our favourite place for a local roast. We find the roast really good quality and better than other local pub roasts, the meat is always good and the veg still has a crunch to it and the gravy is delicious, we do love our gravy! My mum often has the dirty burger which she loves and the buttermilk chicken burger is also good when I fancy a change from the roast. The staff are always friendly and helpful and service is generally very good and welcoming. The atmosphere is really comfortable and relaxing and we will be back again very soon.

Met up with some friends yesterday for lunch. Not been here since the refurb. Looks great inside. Food was fab and Lewis, our server was excellent. Even had a dessert. Unusual for me, but it was a mini dessert which came with a cocktail. Highly recommend Will definitely be returning with my partner very soon.

As soon as we walked in I noticed it was cold and people were sitting with their coats on. The waitress said they hadn’t had time to put the heating on. Everyone was complaining. I wouldn’t even want to eat my meals at home with my coat on. The service was so slow even though it wasn’t busy. We waited over a hour for our starter. There. was not enough staff. The food was nothing special but overpriced. One thing we regret is paying the £24 service charge which was automatically added to our bill.

Went for the music night they do every month, quick bar service even though there was limited people to serve and really yummy picky bits on their new bar menu! Recommend a music night here to anyone!

Came in for a sunday roast dinner, had a good chat with our server Lou who convinced us to opt for the roast trio which was gorgeous. Really enjoyed our food and drinks and the service was impeccable. Had a lovely time and will definitely be back!

Very local to us and wanted, as requested a quiet corner as we had a niece staying with us and all attending the next day a family funeral. Seating as arranged and a good meal for the three of us, with good table service. I had the mushroom starter, with my wife and guest none..main course was Lamb, Linguine and for me fish and chips..with two large glasses of wine for the ladies and a pint and a half of lager for me, with a coffee for the guest..a good evening, service and food. Nice local venue with good staff and a local ambience. Bill around £120, plus optional tip.

This was our second visit because it has a nice atmosphere. The staff were welcoming, pleasant and very professional, the waiting staff were attentive and very helpful. All round a nice experience, sadly the food left a little to be desired at the price, we found given it was 14..00 the food left a little to be deired, potatoes and yorkshire overcooked and appeared burnt, vegetables dry overall for the cost disappointing.

Typical pub food on a Sunday. Food tasted like it had been prepped elsewhere or a couple of days ago. Friendly staff but very slow service - be prepared to wait and it wasn’t that busy.

whilst eating our starter the waitress approached and asked if we had finished as our main was sitting on the side waiting to be served..... very strange, apparently the screen told them when to cook and calculates the eating time.... not good enough I say, I asked the waitress why she didn't bother to cast an eye on our progress and instruct the kitchen accordingly, we were told the manager would come to us but no one did..... very bad service I would say. I've never been under pressure before to eat to a time scale..... Goffs oak advertise themselves as a restaurant, alas they need more training on how to provide this service. I would say its. more of a upgraded pub
