Great pub,great beer,great food !

I ordered a mix grill. This is the 4oz steak and 5oz gammon

Nice food and atmosphere. The kids really enjoyed the food and good service.

Went to watch Phil Collins tribute on Friday, and only indulged in their cheesecake, which was to die for.

Gravy on the side! I have been here many times and had the Sunday roast which is quite good and the gravy always came on the side. Today my roast was absolutely drowning in gravy. I asked for another with gravy on the side and they told me they only put the gravy on the side upon request and they would see if they could get me another. They did replace it however I feel reluctantly, and the roast was fine but by the time I got mine everyone else I was eating with was finished. Not a great experience I’m afraid. Not everyone likes their roast drowning. It doesn’t hurt to put the gravy on the side.

We went to see the Phill Collins tribute act and had a fantastic time. Food was lovely and resnabally priced, not a long wait and served hot. I'd booked a table on line and somehow something went wrong with the booking, but the two waitresses were so helpful in accommodating us and we thankfully had a wonderful table. Beer 🍺 good food excellent and fantastic entertainment what more could we ask for, definitely going again. Thank you.

The interior was nice with a great outdoor setting with nice parking facilities at the rear. It stated that you had to order the food via the Mcmullen app, but if you ask, then the staff issues you with a menu to order. The staff were very friendly and approachable. The Guinness at £5.50 a pint was nice and cold for a summer day. After giving the table number, the staff deliver your order to you. The food was nice and hot, a good variation for a shared platter that cost £17.95 The Garden has a play area for the kids and adults if you don't want to grow up.. They have live entertainment at weekends with Taylor Swift tribute this Friday and others on future weekends. I haven't been to this pub for many years, but like the Mcmullen pub The Bull's Head further up the road in Turnford, the Crocodile pub has a desirable atmosphere and worth a solo or family visit. P.S the only knives on view were the cutlery, so feeling safe in this pub, in this day and age, thoroughly ticked my box..

Currently working at home, and fancied a change from the same four walls - and sarnies! Lol. I thought I would treat myself to lunch in the local, although was a little nervous going alone. However, as soon as I walked in I was greeted by Jenny who made me feel welcome. I explained I was on a lunch break and asked how long for food, she advised 20 minutes. Exactly 20 minutes later, my food was there. She was always around if me or others needed her and checking on us - but not too much! Long story short ... AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE

Stopped by on the way home from a day out to the zoo. We found the atmosphere lovely and welcoming, everyone was very friendly. The food was delicious. We were served by Jenny who was very helpful, chatty and friendly.

Comfortable to eat indoors or if weather is ok a nice garden with a play area which is not too near the road and separated by a fence where you can sit, eat and and keep an eye on your children.

Food was very tasty, but we had Hummus with pitta came in a small bowl with the pitta on top, maybe a plate under the bowl to put your pitta on, rather than plonked on top. A special mention to our waitress Jenny very friendly and done everything we asked for, so big thanks to Jenny for a good night.

Had lunch here on Monday. Sat outside in the warm sun. Had the jacket potato with cheese. Really nice, if I had cooked it I would have added a bit more butter & cheese but that's just me. Although plenty of parking it would be nice to have a few more disabled parking spaces.

Went to see Meatloaf what a great night me and my daughter had A great atmosphere and proper friendly bar staff The tribute act was absolutely brilliant why waste an evening indoors when you can support live artists and local pubs

After what I experienced today of the lady behind the bar and manager taking the piss out of disabled people and adults with autism who don’t have an understanding of the real world and cannot cope in situations was terrible I am ashamed for them of what I heard. I will not be going back and saw the lady coming out of the car park crying and upset.

Attended an engagement party here. Plenty of parking. Food was buffet style. Had a separate area for party, including outside space,which was excellent. Sadly, some of the bar staff were miserable and slow to serve us. Overall a great location and very well priced drinks.

In the middle of nowhere and clicky as hell

This pub is a local for us and came Sunday for a drink. Pub of course was very busy as the sun was out! First impression wasn’t good as a massive queue at the bar with a few customers complaining! Clearly wasn’t enough staff on! Nice young lad who served us said they were serving as quick as they could… did feel sorry for the staff! We decided to eat and was seated quickly as not many eating in the restaurant part. Food was very nice but service was hit and miss! We had a tab open but got told to go pay the bill at the bar rather than wait for a server to give us a bill as this would be quicker! Chicken wings and goujans were delicious! Then my gammon steak was also yummy 😋 would definitely recommend 👍🏻

Great place for the little ones to play. Food is good but if you fancy having a burger, mind your salad, ours was unwashed

Can't go wrong with the Croc. Been going for years. Decent carpark out back and nice fenced Children's play area outside. Good in the summer out front, with quieter indoor eating areas, you have the choice of experiences depending on your company. Good food with medium prices, I can never remember coming away disappointed or shortchanged.

Can only give 4 stars as two toilets out of action which meant a huge queue and a toilet so under pressure it would not flush for ages.

We visited the crocodile for lunch recently. The food was very nice. Service was very good. Very quiet when we went. Plenty of parking around the back. Overall a very nice experience.

A decent enough pub. The service staff are friendly. The food was nice… with one exception the cauliflower cheese wouldn’t order again. I don’t know what they put in it but the taste was not of cheese and cauliflower but something else very strong. Like the wrong herb/ spice? I don’t know! But all the other food was nice. The portion were good. The price reasonable. The playground…. Kept the kids entertained!

Booked for a table of 15. Unfortunately the table they had for us would not fit 15 round the table. They had to move us, much to the disgust of the manager. Food was ok, when purchasing the drinks, which the manager was doing there was a discrepancy with an additional drink which I have not ordered. I had only ordered 5 drinks, yet apparently I was at fault, his attitude was disgusting. Yet the waiter and waitresses who were serving at the table were second to none. Shame they have got a manager who does not care about his customers and their dining experience and doesn’t admit to making mistakes, as others heard me order too and was shocked by his lack of customer service skills.

A charming well run pub and restaurant with polite happy staff. Beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. Nice food with uncrowded table settings.

A great place to go for a family meal, Or a celebration of any kind. Choice of dishes good very reasonably priced. Ample car parking amenities for children. In the front garden.

Another great Mcmullens pub. Always nicely decorated and great selection for drinks.. This particular pub have theme nights playing great music tribute acts from Oasis to UB40. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Our server James is a great asset to the Crocodile, very attentive he couldn't do enough for us, the food was first class drinks always good and the rest of the staff fantastic, we will certainly be back, James thank you very much.

Today we came in for lunch. We were served by Diamie who was so good with the young man we came in with. Diamie was so kind and respected our clients additional needs beautifully. It was refreshing to see. Thank you.

We went for Sunday lunch and were super happy! Aaron, our server was brilliant, even bringing my friend a candle on her pudding for her birthday! Great service and food, will return!

Been to this pub for drinks but never to eat. Today me and a friend went for lunch. Both being on slimming world we struggled with the menu. . There were 2 salad options. 1 consisted of carrots beans cabbage and spinach which didn't appeal to us, the other was caesar salad which we both opted for. We ask for it with no bacon. We'll, this was the strangest ceasar salad I've ever encounter. It consisted of 4 whole romaine lettuce leaves a few tomatoes and what i can only describe as a chicken burger on top. Then there was the dressing which literally drowned the plate. There was so much it had formed puddles on the lettuce. There was no hard cheese or croutons. Very basic The highlight of our day was trying to hack off the breadcrumbs from the chicken so we wouldn't go over our diet points. We managed half of the meal as the dressing was too much. We did tell the waitress to mention to the chef that this was no way a ceasar and it had way too much dressing. She was very apologetic ( not her fault ) and was very courteous. Apart from drinks we had nothing else. I was still charged the full price . I wouldn't return.

A really relaxing and welcoming place which my sister proudly refers to as "her local". The staff are very friendly and the range of food on the menu adequately catered for even the vegetarian in our group. On the night we had our dinner, there was an interesting pub quiz going on so we lingered on just to hear the answers of the various sections of the quiz. We will certainly take part next time. The inhouse posters indicated that there are regular tribute band performances at the Crocodile, so apparently you can get more than just good food and drinks here. We enjoyed our evening and would highly recommend this place to others.

We popped into the Croc, because a board was advertising Abba....the 2 girls were amazing, and we had a fantastic time. The bar staff were so friendly and helpful, even though they were so busy. Will be coming back soon.

Entertainment was 2nd rate , the food was dreadful , i had a burger which was dry and the chips warm and overdone

Myself and my friends really enjoyed the bottomless brunch on Saturday 16th September. It was organised very well, drinks were being filled constantly,food was lovely. Great value for money. Well done, staff were amazing.

Only 1 bar member serving on a Saturday night this was at 8pm and it was fairly busy. Other bar staff not interested in serving. Only interested in chatting and topping up chiller with drinks

Visited as a family again today as it is a local pub. The last few visits have been slightly unpleasant however, today has made us realise we should not waste our money here again. We were initially served by the gentleman with the long hair, he took our drinks order and left before we could order some food. During this time another costumer was waiting to be served and asked the other guy behind the bar if we had been served or not. I told them that we have only been able to order drinks and wanted to order food - we were completely ignored by this guy who then continued to serve the other lady. Upon ordering and having my first cocktail which tasted of nothing but water I asked for the second cocktail which was supposed to be a frozen strawberry daiquiri. It was simply crushed ice with hardly any flavour unfortunately. This time I decided to go and ask for it to be changed to a normal strawberry daiquiri. I waited at the bar and was completely ignored by the bald guy. I then had the initial gentleman approach me who was then told by the bald guy that he should serve the other customers and that he would ‘deal with me’. I was not told a single word or asked what the issue was. He put the strawberry daiquiri in front of me without a word which was very surprising. I told him that he hasn't even asked me what I wanted which he replied to by saying that his colleague had told him and I said no because I didn’t even get a chance to tell your friend what the issue was. The gentleman with the long hair also said that I haven't told him anything. I told the bald guy that he could have asked me what the issue was or at least spoke a word while giving me the new cocktail he made and didn’t even get an answer again. He seemed very rude and racist overall with his actions. I was later told by another worker that he was named Lesley and was one of the managers. I wouldn't have expected a member of the management team to act this way. Browsing through some of the unpleasant reviews here, I can see exactly who they are referring to. Its a shame as this pub was local and child friendly.

3 adults and 2 children went for Sunday lunch. Adults had Sunday lunch, one was cold, the other two warm and swimming in gravy (needed to be in a jug). Both the children ate all their food.

Lovely pub with nice slide and play area for the kids. Nice cocktails...

Went to have something to eat and drink. But told at 8.20pm the kitchen was closed,and they stop the coffee at 9.45pm . So back to the weatherspoon next week. Still a lovely pub with nice barstaff.

Enjoyed my birthday meal with family last night. Very quiet atmosphere as pub was empty due to torrential downpours assuming weather was keeping visitors away. Jenny was amazing ensuring all our dietary needs were met. Food was good too though next time I will get my steak less well done as was too overcooked. Look forward to a return visit.

Jennifer was looking after us tonight and she was absolutely lovely! I have a particularly difficult dietary requirement and she made sure I could have everything and adapted the menu! She was kind and friendly and helpful and really made our evening!

Had my husbands 30th birthday Dinner here. There was 25 of us and we were put in the private function room. It was beautifully decorated and felt like we had the whole venue to ourselves. The staff were incredible. Lesley and Danni were so accommodating, friendly, polite and nothing was too much trouble. They were amazing! Couldn’t have asked for a better evening or staff looking after us. Would definitely return.

We have been here for a few family meals and some of the tribute nights. We usually have a lovely time, and the pub is welcoming and accessible. The food is good and the prices aren't bad. There's a lovely big garden and children's area. Service can be slow but not too bad usually. All on all we enjoy going.
