Crocodile in Broxbourne

Manager and staff are just rude. No empathy for ordering wrong drink. Didn’t want to know as ordered off the app. Why put qr codes on tables to order if you’re not happy if a customer orders off the app. Food came and one meal missing and lady didn’t apologise or anything. Instead assumed I hadn’t ordered it. Obviously staff just want to stand and chat rather than serve customers their meal. Ordered a chicken salad Chicken burger Cheese burger plus doubled up but this was the meal not delivered and when I asked about it the lady at the counter was rude about it and didn’t even apologise for the error. The burger was so over cooked I ended up giving it to the dog. It’s not the first time I’m this has happened and the way staff are to none regular customers makes me want to just go to the vine who are much nicer to customers. Maybe the busy period affected staffs moral who knows.

Food tasted ok and staff seemed friendly but the chip potion size in my burger meal was ridiculously small. Jacket potato with cheese and beans was small aswell. I would expect this size potion for little children and not for adults. I've eating here before and don't remember these tiny potions before. My recommendations are.....if you are hungry order 2 potions or go someehere else.

Lovely lunch this weekend at The Croc, always a fab meal and atmosphere. Special shout out to our amazing server Liv, she looked after us so well and was such a great energy!

Had the nicest experience EVER here. Food was banging (the burger in particular) and our server (Liv I think?) was absolutely amazing. I have an allergy and Liv went above and beyond to make sure I was reassured, she’s an asset to the team.

Tasty starters for £22. We ordered halloumi fries, buffalo wings and calamari and it was all well cooked and seasoned.

Great local pub with a very accommodating staff. Great place to host a small gathering with a private room available.

If you have little ones and fancy a drink outside this can be a great place to go in Cheshunt.. can watch the playground from your table. So little ones play while you enjoy your drink /meal

We attended a wake here after a funeral at Enfield Crematorium on Thursday 17th April. Service was excellent, buffet was delicious and a very nice venue

If you like to wait ages to be served this is the place for you, the staff are so slow unfortunately.

Today wasn’t just my birthday — it was a celebration of life, love, and pure gratitude. At 26, I was told I may never reach 30. Diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour and told I’d never become a mum, I never imagined I’d be here turning 46 — surrounded by love, laughter, and the most amazing people in my life. We spent the afternoon at The Crocodile Pub and honestly, it couldn’t have been more perfect. The atmosphere was spot on — relaxed, welcoming, and full of good vibes. The staff were lovely, and the energy of the place just made us feel at home. And the food? Let’s just say the nachos were next level. Genuinely the best we’ve ever had — fresh, loaded, and absolutely delicious. Being there with my best friend, her girls, and my miracle daughter Ruby made it a day I’ll never forget. Thank you to everyone at The Crocodile for making today feel extra special. I’ll definitely be back… and next time, I’m ordering the nachos all to myself! With love, Lisa Connell

We thought we would give this place a try as it was a nice day. We walked in and the staff are so welcoming and friendly we knew straight away we'd like it here, it was busy but plenty of seats available inside and outside with plenty of parking too. There is a nice playground for kids to play on as well. Prices are good, people are friendly, nice to see a busy pub everyone smiling and having a good time. They have a function room, serve food, and have tribute nights, so we will be returning again very soon!

Brilliant service from Jenny. Food was brilliant too, however Jenny deserves a knighthood, unreal service and brilliant banter.

Service was absolutely terrible, had to get own menus, ask a member is staff to take our food order, then same to order drinks Freezing cold in the pub Left balloon and birthday decorations to be put on the table prior to us seating down, that never happened

We had a lovely Sunday roast with the family. Food was delicious. Jenny, who served us, was very friendly and looked after us really well

A huge pub with split areas for eating/ drinking but it had a great ambience. Really friendly staff. Massive outdoor seating area to the front which I'm sure would be great in Summer. Good range of drinks and great food. This was our first visit and we opted for x 4 snacks, all hot and tasty. Dog friendly away from the carpeted restaurant area. I can see this becoming our local when visiting family.

I would like to thank all the staff at the pub for their service. We have just had our Mums wake in the private function room. It was the perfect place for the occasion THANK YOU!!

Pretty good food, though can be very long time for food.

Food was very poor and not cooked correctly very nice pub but would not go to eat the food again. Was in a big party and most people had a problem Paid a second visit and the food was s vast improvement even with the pub more busy

Had lunch here on Monday. Sat outside in the warm sun. Had the jacket potato with cheese. Really nice, if I had cooked it I would have added a bit more butter & cheese but that's just me. Although plenty of parking it would be nice to have a few more disabled parking spaces. Came here for dinner yesterday afternoon. Our waitress was Jen, oh what a laugh we had, all over the name of a bottle of wine 🤣🤣 . Good food too

Came for Sunday lunch with the family. Good food for a pub, and reasonably priced too. AARON, was our waiter, and he was awesome. Super friendly guy, didn't pester us, but was really responsive to our requests, super helpful, and all round a great guy, who made our meal. We would definitely return, and would hope to be looked after by Aaron again. Nice pub, and Aaron was the star of the day.

Are here this afternoon! Not our first time as we are locals but a first for a Sunday roast! Starters we’ve had before as I’ve said in my previous post in June … wings and chicken goujans delicious! Then hubby had the roast beef Sunday dinner! Dreadful is all I can say at £14… the photo says it all… this is what exactly he was served! 3/ half tiny potatoes… ohh all thattt veg…, took all of 5 minutes to eat! Such a let down as my scampi and chips for less money was definitely more value! Just a shame as so not worth it ! Wouldn’t order Sunday dinner again!

Went to watch Phil Collins tribute on Friday, and only indulged in their cheesecake, which was to die for.

Gravy on the side! I have been here many times and had the Sunday roast which is quite good and the gravy always came on the side. Today my roast was absolutely drowning in gravy. I asked for another with gravy on the side and they told me they only put the gravy on the side upon request and they would see if they could get me another. They did replace it however I feel reluctantly, and the roast was fine but by the time I got mine everyone else I was eating with was finished. Not a great experience I’m afraid. Not everyone likes their roast drowning. It doesn’t hurt to put the gravy on the side.

We went to see the Phill Collins tribute act and had a fantastic time. Food was lovely and resnabally priced, not a long wait and served hot. I'd booked a table on line and somehow something went wrong with the booking, but the two waitresses were so helpful in accommodating us and we thankfully had a wonderful table. Beer 🍺 good food excellent and fantastic entertainment what more could we ask for, definitely going again. Thank you.

The interior was nice with a great outdoor setting with nice parking facilities at the rear. It stated that you had to order the food via the Mcmullen app, but if you ask, then the staff issues you with a menu to order. The staff were very friendly and approachable. The Guinness at £5.50 a pint was nice and cold for a summer day. After giving the table number, the staff deliver your order to you. The food was nice and hot, a good variation for a shared platter that cost £17.95 The Garden has a play area for the kids and adults if you don't want to grow up.. They have live entertainment at weekends with Taylor Swift tribute this Friday and others on future weekends. I haven't been to this pub for many years, but like the Mcmullen pub The Bull's Head further up the road in Turnford, the Crocodile pub has a desirable atmosphere and worth a solo or family visit. P.S the only knives on view were the cutlery, so feeling safe in this pub, in this day and age, thoroughly ticked my box..

Currently working at home, and fancied a change from the same four walls - and sarnies! Lol. I thought I would treat myself to lunch in the local, although was a little nervous going alone. However, as soon as I walked in I was greeted by Jenny who made me feel welcome. I explained I was on a lunch break and asked how long for food, she advised 20 minutes. Exactly 20 minutes later, my food was there. She was always around if me or others needed her and checking on us - but not too much! Long story short ... AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE

Great pub now ,after a few dodgy years the new management have totally turned it round , plenty of things going on and a good vibe .

Comfortable to eat indoors or if weather is ok a nice garden with a play area which is not too near the road and separated by a fence where you can sit, eat and and keep an eye on your children.

Food was very tasty, but we had Hummus with pitta came in a small bowl with the pitta on top, maybe a plate under the bowl to put your pitta on, rather than plonked on top. A special mention to our waitress Jenny very friendly and done everything we asked for, so big thanks to Jenny for a good night.

Went to see Meatloaf what a great night me and my daughter had A great atmosphere and proper friendly bar staff The tribute act was absolutely brilliant why waste an evening indoors when you can support live artists and local pubs

After what I experienced today of the lady behind the bar and manager taking the piss out of disabled people and adults with autism who don’t have an understanding of the real world and cannot cope in situations was terrible I am ashamed for them of what I heard. I will not be going back and saw the lady coming out of the car park crying and upset.

Attended an engagement party here. Plenty of parking. Food was buffet style. Had a separate area for party, including outside space,which was excellent. Sadly, some of the bar staff were miserable and slow to serve us. Overall a great location and very well priced drinks.

This pub is a local for us and came Sunday for a drink. Pub of course was very busy as the sun was out! First impression wasn’t good as a massive queue at the bar with a few customers complaining! Clearly wasn’t enough staff on! Nice young lad who served us said they were serving as quick as they could… did feel sorry for the staff! We decided to eat and was seated quickly as not many eating in the restaurant part. Food was very nice but service was hit and miss! We had a tab open but got told to go pay the bill at the bar rather than wait for a server to give us a bill as this would be quicker! Chicken wings and goujans were delicious! Then my gammon steak was also yummy 😋 would definitely recommend 👍🏻

Can't go wrong with the Croc. Been going for years. Decent carpark out back and nice fenced Children's play area outside. Good in the summer out front, with quieter indoor eating areas, you have the choice of experiences depending on your company. Good food with medium prices, I can never remember coming away disappointed or shortchanged.

Can only give 4 stars as two toilets out of action which meant a huge queue and a toilet so under pressure it would not flush for ages.

We visited the crocodile for lunch recently. The food was very nice. Service was very good. Very quiet when we went. Plenty of parking around the back. Overall a very nice experience.

A decent enough pub. The service staff are friendly. The food was nice… with one exception the cauliflower cheese wouldn’t order again. I don’t know what they put in it but the taste was not of cheese and cauliflower but something else very strong. Like the wrong herb/ spice? I don’t know! But all the other food was nice. The portion were good. The price reasonable. The playground…. Kept the kids entertained!

Booked for a table of 15. Unfortunately the table they had for us would not fit 15 round the table. They had to move us, much to the disgust of the manager. Food was ok, when purchasing the drinks, which the manager was doing there was a discrepancy with an additional drink which I have not ordered. I had only ordered 5 drinks, yet apparently I was at fault, his attitude was disgusting. Yet the waiter and waitresses who were serving at the table were second to none. Shame they have got a manager who does not care about his customers and their dining experience and doesn’t admit to making mistakes, as others heard me order too and was shocked by his lack of customer service skills.

A charming well run pub and restaurant with polite happy staff. Beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. Nice food with uncrowded table settings.

Another great Mcmullens pub. Always nicely decorated and great selection for drinks.. This particular pub have theme nights playing great music tribute acts from Oasis to UB40. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Our server James is a great asset to the Crocodile, very attentive he couldn't do enough for us, the food was first class drinks always good and the rest of the staff fantastic, we will certainly be back, James thank you very much.
