Went on Saturday evening our only regret was why did we not find this place sooner, fantastic atmosphere great service by a friendly and attentive team of people who clearly enjoy their job. We had a table of six there were other groups booked for Christmas dinner so was not expecting a fast service but it was very reasonable, portions were generous and food was cooked exactly how we like it and even gluten free alternatives to most options on the menu. Thank you for a pleasurable experience we will definitely be back and certainly recommend you.

We were a party of 6. The pub area is very nice however our eating experience was not Several items were sold out, we ordered 4 of the days special "stew" the waitress returned to advise only one portion left She had to return several times to change the order. The manager/owner also came out to the table, obviously a heavy smoker as he smelt stronglyn of tobacco. Not nice at the dining table. The scampi was very dry, as were the chips, three people had chicken & mash as the special was sold out.The portions were very small.Only thing I would recommend was the pudding.Won't be returning.

This was our first time visiting The Overstone Arms. We called ahead as we wanted to confirm we could stay overnight in our camper (no problem at all - park at the end of the carpark where its flatter and we used one leveller to be sure). I spoke to Philip on the phone - who was so helpful and lovely. He advised about the camping overnight being free if you eat in the pub, which we did. and we were v impressed with the food. They had multiple vegan and vegetarian dishes which was wonderful - to actually have choice in a village pub! Our small dog was welcome as well as our table was in the delightful bar area. The staff were so attentive (without being overbearing). They were very friendly and you could tell there was thoughtful consideration put into customer service, it made our evening even better because any questions we had etc were answers promptly and we didn't feel a burden. Philip put out a ramp for us to get into the pub as I use a wheelchair, and that worked fine. There isn't a disabled toilet, due to it being a historic building (though he advised us he had looked into it previously, but alas due to the nature of the building it wasn't possible). But as we had the van set up to our requirements nearby it wasn't a problem. We would 100 per cent recommend and we look forward to coming back again one day. Oh I must add the lentil soup was the best ever!!! I would come back simply for a bucket of that. Thank you Philip and the great team.

One of the best pubs in the area and I cannot recommend it enough! It is always my first suggestion to any family or friends when in the area and I always look forward to dining here. Hospitality- The minute you enter this pub you are greeted by the staff with a smile. They are friendly, attentive and always add to the pleasant experience here. I am never waiting more than a few minutes for a pint and the restaurant service is no different! When attending with a friend who had an allergy, the chef personally approached the table to discuss food options he had and how best he could accommodate her, even offering to substitute food and swap around items so she would still be able to purchase within there deals e.g would include a different dish within the lunch deal that would accommodate her allergy! He stressed that it would be no hassle to do this and made my friend feel so comfortable to dine here, something she has rarely witnessed prior. Food- When they say hand cooked they mean it and I would not even be surprised if there wasn’t a microwave in the building! The mozzarella sticks as a starter are my favourite and the batter and the cheese are so fresh! The sweet chilli dip which accompanies it is amazing and is not your usual bottle dip but rather crafted to accompany the starter perfectly. The burgers are to die for, the meat is always so fresh and tender and the casserole is full of flavour. Every dish feels like it is made with love and care Drinks: The service is always quick and the atmosphere at the bar is always joyous and friendly. The pints are perfect and this is improved by the beautiful landscape the beer garden has to offer! Price: there is not one part of the pricing that I would go against and if anything, I defiantly think they could charge more! The lunchtime deal is £14 for starter and a main and is practically a full dinner and always leaves me and others full. You can enjoy amazing, flavourful food in an amazing atmosphere without breaking the bank and is amazing for families on a budget who still want to enjoy a dinner out! Monday club!: Every Monday they do a Monday Club deal and this is a menu made by the chef to ensure all produce that hasn’t been used through the week is not wasted! An amazing idea to prevent food waste! This menu has starters, mains and desert all for a staggering £12 at most, and it’s availability declines over the evening as the produce is used so make sure you are there early as they run out fast!

Had sunday roast today , there was 3 of us , 1 had roast pork the other 2 had roast beef . The roast beef was very chewy with no flavour at all , I only had 2 roast potatoes on my plate and they tasted and looked like they had hardly been roasted long enough. You get carrots, broccoli, cauliflower cheese and a potato croquette and again all the vegetables on every plate had no flavour to them . One small jug of gravy between 3 people was not enough and had to ask for more also the gravy is a one gravy does all with no flavour . The yorkshire puddings came out and they were as flat as pancakes, would have expected a lot more flavour to the whole meal as each meal is £17.50 so overall a quite expensive plate of food.

A lovely dog friendly pub/restaurant run by nice people. Lots of menu choices. Sadly prices seem to have risen quite a bit since we were last there. My parents chose the sausage & mash and my partner had the veggie version. When their meals arrived they looked like kids meals, very small. I luckily chose a jacket potato which was a good size and came with a salad. So for the price the meals should have been a lot larger and the price of the desserts was steep too. Apparently the food tasted average, so sadly I don't think we will be going back, which is such a shame as it is a lovely place.

I asked Kettering Facebook page where to go for a nice lunch with my Mum, this place was mentioned, I took my Mum for lunch, it wasn't very busy, I can`t understand why as it was really good, we were welcomed and seated, presented with menus and ordered drinks, there are various special deals on different days and also a full menu with lots of choices, we both opted for the Lentil soup with melba toast, a nice option as we would have been too full with a roll, the soup was obviously homemade, piping hot and very tasty, only one pat of better with the melba toast but I`m sure had I asked I would have been given more, I am a bit of a butter pig so one little pat was not really enough for me but that's the only criticism, then I had Ham egg and chips and Mum had sausage and mash, the ham was excellent and obviously cook in house, served warm with a perfectly cooked fried egg, I know an egg is an egg but not everyone gets it perfect, I like a runny yolk, my Mum loved her sausages (So did the dog with the one she smuggled away in a napkin) We declined deserts, and requested the bill, it was very reasonably priced and we could not fault anything we had. It wasn't very busy, I don't know why because everything was really good, service, price, food quality, oh! and hot plates! I am so fed up with going to managed chain places who quite honestly don't care if yo are there or not, its so nice to see a small privately run establishment trying hard to please and succeeding. You should do the same! We will be back to this one! Thank you.

Unfortunately we seem a minority according to these reviews but I had to leave an honest one. We just went for Sunday lunch as a group of 4, 2 had soup for starters, completely over seasoned and just tasted of salt. Another had pate served with a blob of coleslaw which seemed very strange, a chutney would have been more in place 🤷🏻‍♀️. Main dinners were ordered, 2 Roast Beef, 1 Gammon and 1 vegetarian Tart. Apparently the vegetarian tart was quite nice, sadly this is where the positives end. The beef which is supposed to be ‘medium rare’ was definitely well done! I wish I taken a picture and was very tough! Vegetables had little or no seasoning in our option and the Yorkshire pudding resembled a pancake, the three carrot coins per plate were ok-ish! Roast potatoes tasted ‘chewy’ and not fresh. The cauliflower had something on it but I couldn’t tell you what, I don’t think it was cauliflower cheese but all 4 of us could be wrong. The plates were cold meaning food was cold pretty quickly. We paid the bill and left, there is a man walking around who says little to nothing to customers who could at a guess be the manager, again could be wrong but his body language didn’t seem approachable, he had already been short with one of the serving girls on our way in as to where other diners could wait. All in all very disappointing lunch and sadly won’t be returning.

We visited on a Thursday evening as a group of four. We were welcomed warmly to the inn, ordered our drinks from the well stocked bar and were shown to our table overlooking the garden. The menu choices were pretty good, with something for everyone. We ordered the sea bass, the chicken and chips, the Overstone burger and a rack of ribs. The food wasn’t long in coming, but long enough for us to chat and catch up. We were served some Melba toasts whilst waiting for our main courses. The food was excellent. The rack of ribs looked beautiful, the burger was really good and the other two dishes were equally as good according to their consumers! Having dispensed with the mains, three of us had desserts, all of which were scrumptious! All in all, we had a really pleasant evening at the Overstone Arms, made even more pleasant by the friendly and really efficient staff who served us. We stopped over in our campervan and had a great meal and the staff were all very good, nice and friendly. We will return. Excellent food also with special offers like free dessert etc, so it is good value.

Really nice garden and food was fine, nothing wrong with it. Service was slow and disorganised.

6 minutes from the A14. We'll worth the drive to the village of Pytchley. Today was our first visit. The Secret garden was lovely and relaxing. ( not so secret). Staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant well set out, nice decor and very clean. Food excellent quality. What beats all this? Exceptional value. Will return.

The outside area is fabulous but unfortunately the food is very poor. Enquired as to whether local produce was used and received a vague answer rather than a definitive one. The food was totally uninspiring.

We hired the Secret Garden event space for a 60th party and could not have got a better place. The space is fantastic with outside bar and plenty of seating and general space. The food was amazing and staff were more than helpfully with everything. The weather wasn't the best but the staff made sure we had plenty of cover and parasols. There was enough space for our band for the evening plus dancing area. Can only praise the Overstone Arms and staff for helping to create an amazing day & evening.

Not a review of the services provided by Barton Hall but unfortunately feel the need to raise this in the hope it gathers attention. It has come to a point where Barton Hall may as well not have the Tesla super chargers in their car park at this time of year. The amount of non-electric vehicles which are being allowed to park in the Tesla charger spaces is unbelievable. It’s causing chaos in their car park as multiple electric cars are unable to get on chargers and can’t go anywhere because the rest of the car park is full. It’s essentially no different to someone coming in and parking across the front of a petrol station. I can understand that some spaces may need to be used as overflow in peak times, but why not do what every other place does and monitor/limit this to 20 minutes maximum stay only in such spaces for non EV’s? Any electric car parked at 100% would start to be charged overstay fees for not moving out of the space. So why is it fair that stubborn people are getting away with parking petrol cars in these spaces with no comeuppance, just because they’re too lazy to park further out and walk? I’d imagine under their agreement with Tesla, they are bound to keep charging stations accessible for electric vehicles?

Good place for a reasonably priced lunch/early dinner and the Meal Deal is especially good value for money. The choices on this menu are not as wide as when we first started visiting but the meals that are left are sufficiently varied so I'm sure there would be something to suit everyone. We do occasionally order from the main menu depending on when we visit but our favourite time is during 12-6 Monday to Friday when the Meal Deal operates. Our server yesterday was Louise who makes you feel 'special' even when rushed off her feet and cannot do enough for you. When time allows she will always stay and have a chat which is quite refreshing these days and much appreciated. We'll be back shortly so looking forward to another reasonably priced meal and with any luck we'll be met by the friendly face of Louise once again. Can't wait.

Been before, had a takeaway. Was quite nice. Decided to take my partner and 6 month old baby for lunch. Got there at 1pm on a Saturday, the place is open serving people. For us to be turned around and told us the kitchen is closed but coffee is still being served. Turned down another customer behind us with the same answer. I would have thought a little coffee shop would have open arm invited us for food too if we wanted. 2x customers with a possibility of spending what £20 each? So because they couldn’t be arsed to cook some food they lost £40 of business! Yet they sit there with outdated decor and quite a dull appearance. Get some effort put in jeez!
