The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving British food

We were here for afternoon tea, although the food was presented very well and tasted great, there were far too many cakes and not enough savoury foods, we asked for a box to take at least 9 cakes home, from the time we asked we had waited over 30 minutes, which spoiled the whole experience, when the boxes arrived they looked like plastic small Chinese takeaway boxes which the cakes didn't fit into and were all squashed, I asked for a bigger box but that was all they had! I did notice other people sitting across from us who waited ages to even be acknowledged, eventually the lady got up and went to reception to see why nobody had came to see them, not the best of service from such a beautiful hotel, although the food was lovely.

Ordered food from here, wish we didn’t, all food come mushed in one little brown box wrapped in foil, we ordered everything separately, when I called the store I spoke with a guy who just kept talking in circles so I requested a manager and the young girl on the phone was basically reading from a script- worst £34 spent

Has another lovely visit to Ravens Cliff with our friends. Really busy and hardly any tables available. Food was served quickly and was really hot! Service was great & we can’t wait to come back!

Nice pub to drop into for a pint. Good selection on tap and by bottle and the food is decent too.

Great location set up on the cliffs , the views are great . Staff were very friendly , but service can be a tad slow. The menu is quite wide covering most needs and the food is quite tasty

Went here for my granddaughters christening on the 27/4/2025. I have to say all the staff were fantastic and very friendly and welcoming, also the food was amazing. Lovely outdoor play area for the kids which was a bonus and lovely terracing on the back of the pub another bonus as the weather was beautiful. We will be returning for the Sunday roast one day which looked lovely. Thanks everyone concerned. 👏👏

Came here to visit from the 02/05/25 - 05/05/25 Lancaster for the first time . Firstly I would like to say Sally who works behind the front desk is honestly amazing. She is so kind and caring a true asset to the hotel nothing was to big for her to help fix. She made our experience amazing. House keeping kept the rooms beautiful and clean and the the hotel it's self smelt lovely clean and well looked after. Breakfast was so worth it and amazing. I can't praise this hotel enough thank you so so much truly we will be back and I can't wait to see all the staff again but especially Sally this is definitely more then a 3 star hotel it's more of a 5 star hotel. And food was 10/10

I was part of a group of 23 who ate at The Hare Hounds today for a birthday bash. The food, service, atmosphere and staff were all 5 star. All the food was delicious and served quickly and piping hot. The service was excellent and the staff were brilliant. Great place to eat and drink and will certainly be back. Thank you

Visit this place often and I’m always happily impressed. Staff are super friendly and attentive, great food, great drinks, great for sport & even caught a bit of sun in the beer garden

We hadn't planned eating in Tenby. We stumbled on this restaurant and were welcomed by the friendly barmaid. Our fish and chips dishes were served quickly. The fish, salad and chips were nicely presented and tasty. Reasonable prices. A good find.

On arrival the barman was very friendly and efficient, the food was fantastic as always, I had the farmyard feast and my partner had the pork belly, both meals were amazing and cooked to perfection, we have made this our go to place, even tho it’s a 30 minute drive, definitely recommend if you haven’t been here before

We had a wonderful visit to the hanging gate for Mothers Day. We were a large party at 13, with four children. One who required a highchair chair. This was no problem at all for the pub. The table was ready including highchair, as soon as we arrived. Our table was situated near to the doors to the garden area. Which is enclosed, so great for children to play. We pre-ordered from the set menu, all the food was delicious! Especially the roast dinners. Would highly recommend! The staff were so friendly and attentive. We will definitely be returning soon. Un lugar agradable para tomar una bebida / comida y admirar la vista. Personal una bolsa mixta, algunos no demasiado contentos de estar en el trabajo, o tienen un nivel generalmente pobre de servicio al cliente. La verdadera vergüenza, sin embargo, es la cantidad de basura generada por el negocio y la falta de responsabilidad mostrada por el lugar. Me siento caminando cada hora - rondas de la zona al aire libre, o incluso simplemente una mejor conciencia beneficiaría al medio ambiente y la vida marina. El grupo Keep Flamborough Tidy patrulla constantemente el área y hace un trabajo increíble como voluntarios, pero una mayor conciencia y proactividad de The Headlands sería beneficiosa.

Has to be the worst Sunday roast I've ever seen and didn't eat .ended up going to the chip shop afterwards.ive seen better roast dinners in the 1980's in school .if I would of sat in to see this and not had a takeaway I would of asked for my money back .how on earth you can charge £12:95 is a disgrace. Runny gravy.beef looked processed .vegetables under cooked ,2 potatoes and a stale cold Yorkshire pudding . Total waste of money .
