Visited here on a Sunday with a friend asked for a table for a roast was told yeah we got tables but we’ve ran out of food. Bit odd as they had just opened and lots of people were sat eating a roast also seen food being brought out to tables. Can only assume we weren’t dressed correctly, who knows shame as looked very pleasant place to eat.

Just on holiday for a few days at Pine Tree Farm at Wookey. Pitched our camp and we thought as we passed a pub called the Pheasant just along the lane we take a chance and book a table for some food. Well we were not disappointed, four adults and three almost adult kids are stuffed to the gunnels. The landlord and his staff were so friendly, accommodating and so happy to make sure that we had everything we're needed and nothing was to much trouble. By the way the food was delicious, pipping hot with huge portions for those with a large appetite. We're for a few more days so we will definitely be revisiting before we leave the area.👏👏 Well done to all the team and a big thank you from us all .

This was our first visit to The Pheasant Inn under its new landlords who we understand took over in April 2024. It was a very busy Friday night - school holidays, excellent live music provided by Alex Gibson and a sunny evening so the garden was busy. It felt like a proper English pub and although there were problems with delays to food it was all dealt with good humour and everyone appeared to be having a great time. We had the Hawaiian Pizza and Fish & Chips, both were served piping hot and were tasty (rather good chips.) We're looking forward to our next visit and hope the new landlords can make a success of their venture.

On a recent trip back from Longleat Safari Park to Burnham-on-Sea with two hungry children in tow, we decided to stop at The Pheasant. This turned out to be a great choice. My wife and I opted for the Chicken Masala curry, and it did not disappoint. Our children enjoyed the classic Sausage, mash, and peas. The sausages were well-cooked, the mash was creamy, and the peas were fresh and sweet – a simple but satisfying meal that left them happy and full. Overall, The Pheasant provided a delightful dining experience with excellent food and hospitable service. It's well worth a visit if you're in the area.

A very pretty little pub. I think it has recently changed hands. We were the only people in the pub and there was a TV with football playing by the bar. No music playing throughout the rest of the pub so really no atmosphere at all. The chap behind the bar was pleasant enough but seemed a little shy and awkward. Bless. Nice enough garden but could certainly be made prettier. Sadly I wouldn't rush back at the moment.

I went to the Pheasant for Sunday lunch with my wife and 2 other couples. This was our delayed Xmas outing due to illness. As it happened one of our party was ill so it was five go mad in Wookey. Coincidentally it was my wife's birthday so I ordered a bottle of bubbly which unfortunately was out of stock . No problem , the landlord John had a bottle of his own which he kindly let us have. The lunch was superb. Roast beef or pork and one of our party had the veggie option. Plenty of veg on the plate with cauliflower cheese on the side and of course gravy. Oh and Yorkshire pudding. Desserts were yummy as was the coffee. They even plated up a meal to take home for our sick friend. Thanks John and Emma , we'll be back.

Hubs had the beef pie with mash and peas (also a chip choice) and said it was amazing. I wasn’t really hungry so had cheesy chips which were really good and I unexpectedly cleared the bowl. I had a good clean pint of Birra Moretti and hubs had Thatchers Rascal so a good choice of our favourite drinks. We’ll definitely be back, it’s so important to support local pubs

Good local pub, very typical of how an English pub should be. Lots of local people and space for visitors to eat. I had the 8oz Angus burger which was very good. The mince meat used was high quality and it seemed like they were using quality produce. For dessert I had the Bakewell tart and custard. It was pleasant but not to the level of the main courses. I noticed other peoples food, especially the T-Bone steak and it all looked very good value. For a simple no nonsense pub food, this is a good place to eat. Prices were very reasonable and I would recommend.
