Lovely meal, very efficient and friendly staff providing an excellent service. Room was ok, ensuite bathroom was quite tired and needed some updating.

Been to a few greeneking and have to say I was very impressed with how it was managed even tho it was a quiet Monday evening. The staff Peter and Casper was very professional and super friendly and the food was so delicious

I come here every week or so with my dad where he will have the lamb and I would either have the lasagne with chips, the cheddar and bacon burger or possibly have the lamb shank as well. The staff here are really lovely and always make it a great experience for us and the woolpack is in a very good location. Thank you to all the staff for all their hard work.

The service from the serving staff is good, BUT, BAD MANAGEMENT !! AS I was ousted by a customer who ALWAYS reserves his table but there was NO reserved table sign after a certain time, plenty of other tables as the place was surprisingly empty ?? .. it totally ruined my experience and is indeed a slur on your ambiance , the management didn't have even the decency to apologise until this report so !!! SORRY too late !! You should have done this at the time !!!!!! LESSONS must reserve a table with so others avoid this embarrassing event which not only spoils the experience but can drive customers away !! THE MANAGEMENT NEED to get back to the customer immediately !! as on this occasion obviously condone this behaviour no wonder the place is empty !! I don't think I will be going back in a hurry or recommending any family or friends !!!!

Once again thoroughly enjoyed our meal,popped in on the off chance without booking and really well welcomed and looked after. Looking forward to our next visit.

Stopped in this wonderful little pub on our way back home from a trip to bath. Pleasant and friendly and great food. India took our order and helped with our decision making on which roast to go for.. I recommend the turkey. Will definitely return if we ever find ourselves in the area again.

First visit to this lovely village pub with our family. We hade a lovely warm and friendly welcome from the staff Justine, Linda and Pete. We ordered drinks and food it all came very quickly considering how busy the place was . The food was fantastic couldn't fault it 👌. The pub was extremely clean . Nice pub but we found the manageress abrupt and rude. We were going to stay for food but the way she spoke to us changed our minds. Shame because the pub itself is lovely and all the other staff seemed nice (If somewhat bullied by the boss!)

My husband and I last stayed here 30 years ago so it was a nostalgic return for two nights with breakfast and dinner. We stayed in room 11 a large double with a door that needs a good shouldering! It was a lovely large room, very comfortable large bed and sofa area. Breakfasts were great and the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and hardworking. We had a lovely stay.

Go here fairly often as local to us, never had anything bad to say about this place. The food is very reasonably priced considering everything these days, and everything we’ve ever had tastes great. Stuff are always bubbly and friendly, the atmosphere is lovely!

Lovely mothers day lunch with family. Super friendly staff and excellent Sunday roast. Sad I couldn't use my blue light discount because it was mother's day but I was given a bottle of wine as a consolation.

Fabulous village pub with flagstone floors and a real log fire. Lovely quiet location. We stayed in a superior room which was very spacious with lovely decor. Very comfortable bed, with good quality bedding. Food was excellent, couldn't fault it at all. The staff were great, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Special mention for Emma who was just lovely. We would definitely stay there again.😀

Just had a really nice dinner at the Woolpack. It was a table for 9 and every single one of us had excellent food. The menu is very diverse with something for everyone. I personally had Halloumi fries and a piri piri sauce, quite delicious followed by chicken in a basket, again really tasty. Others had lamb shank, Asian curry and salmon all really nicely cooked. Our waitress was really pleasant, friendly and efficient as we all had different drinks, coffees etc, all delivered correctly and with a smile. Excellent experience and we all said we would like to return soon.

We had an absolutely amazing Valentines meal! Our first ever Valentine’s meal together (back in 2008) was here, so when I saw they were running a competition on their Facebook to win a Valentine’s meal, I had to enter. I was absolutely thrilled, and totally gobsmacked, that I won!! All of the staff we encountered were kind, fun and attentive (and were so lovely around my intolerances, not once was I made to feel like a pain or made to feel awkward!) the food was brilliant, all well cooked and tasted amazing! We will most definitely be back! If you are in the area, I would definitely recommend calling in for a drink or a lovely, hearty meal! Thank you so much for an incredible Valentine’s meal!

Just wanted to leave a review because of the amount of enjoyment of our evening partly came from the staff. Our plates were gone almost immediately after finishing, we were asked about refills intuitively whenever we’d finished, but not in a pressurised manner, it felt like visiting a friend who wanted us to feel at home. Our server was so polite, but funny and despite the business of the place, being valentines, we didn’t feel like their being busy was a problem. We were treated with such respect, the food was excellent and I’ve come home with a full stomach, satisfied palette, and a warm romantic buzz. Thank you for making our night really magical. It genuinely felt like a special treat.

Excellent all around, felt very welcomed and warmed by the atmosphere. Beautiful asthetic to the building, open fire, candle lit dinner, secluded sections, and such a romance vibe. Went there for valentines every year. I couldn't wish to go anywhere different as I genuinely feel like a family member, the staff are so friendly and accommodating too. Just all around well done to this establishment. I would recommend to the King himself if I were important enough to know him.

A down to earth pub with good food and good-enough rooms. Very popular with locals and visitors alike, you'll get a warm welcome and good service, a very good pint of ale (or whatever else takes your fancy from a well-stocked bar) and decent food in comfortable surroundings. Honest, straightforward, and traditional values take precednce here.

An obnoxious drunk traveller family being rude and noisy the worst was the father who was wearing a ultimate drive's and paving top which the company is registered at a nearby traveller park, as he was making phobic comments aimed at my friend and I getting there children to video us

We always love coming here! We came here for the bingo on Wednesday, we came early so we could eat before it started, I had sausage and mash and my partner had fish and chips we both demolished our food! The service was great and the beer was brilliant, as usual! I’m sure we’ll be back before too long

We came last week and had a lovely meal, we both had a sirloin steak which were cooked perfectly, just how we like! Our daughter loved her tomato pasta and garlic bread. We love coming here and will definitely be back.

I would like to say I had a really bad experience there. The food wasn't up to scratch and the service was very poor to say the least.

We went for our family Christmas meal and the food was delicious, hot and came out in perfect time. The staff as always were a credit to the woolpack. Polite and helpful no ask was too much for them to accommodate us. Especially during the busiest time of the year they all still kept a smile on there face and kept the Christmas spirit alive within the woolpack.

I visited The Woolpack for 2 festive Menu meals, Christmas Day and The New Years eve family quiz. Each time The Woolpack delivered exceptional food and service. Christmas day was fantastic. Fabulous food as always. One of the busiest days but the food was beautiful. Well done to the Chefs for delivering such fluffy potatoes and the best Turkey ive had. Its always a pleasure to visit The Woolpack and it never fails to deliver on all aspects. Thank you team for a great 2023 festive period.

Stopped off here for some food and I'm so glad we did. It was like stepping back in time, set in a beautiful village and as you walked in there is a roaring fireplace and a warm welcome. Food was absolutely amazing with generous portions. Will definitely pop in if we're in this part of the world again 👌🏻

The positives: We had a very nice, big room. Staff on the evening we arrived were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is close to Longleat which was the reason for visiting. The negatives: Door to room 11 was very difficult to open. No parking reserved for hotel guests and could not park in car park on 2nd evening which was frustrating with a young child. It was also outrageously hot. The hotel must be spending a fortune on gas bills as all radiators were permanently on and despite it being December we had both windows in the room open at all times. We tried to turn off the radiators but the valves did not appear to work. The milk put out at breakfast on the first morning was curdled and sour. Although this was rectified by the staff they didn’t appear to be surprised or apologise. The only other point that could be improved is that there didn’t appear to be any high chairs for young children available. Overall it is quite clear that the pub does well and has a lot of visitors for Christmas parties and events. I think if a small amount of the focus that goes into the pub went into the hotel this could be a much much better place to stay. That said, I am not entirely put off and would stay here again in future (in the hope that some of these things may be fixed)

This place has never disappointed us and tonight was no different. We decided this year to have all the girls together for a Christmas Meal as this is something we don’t often get to do. Our welcome as we entered the building was as lovely as it always is and we were quickly shown to our table by Karen. We had pre ordered our meals so our starters arrived even before we had ordered our drinks (we can spend a long time browsing the menu) Our mains were absolutely delicious! There was a large portion of turkey that was succulent and moist, the roast potatoes were to die for 😍 they were fluffy and crispy just like they are supposed to be. The veg was cooked to perfection and the stuffing was absolutely banging! Not dry and crispy like other places. My only grumble was the Yorkshire pud. It was too hard for my liking but once I had dowsed it in gravy it was perfect. Now the pudding or shall I say puddings………I was lucky enough to try 3 of them 🤤 I had ordered the limoncello tart 🥰 this was absolutely amazing, it was moist and tart and the raspberries were not too sweet so complimented this perfectly! The gold chocolate dessert was delightful and the texture was amazing! The bread and butter pudding was one of the best tasting ones I have ever eaten and I’ve had many! Thank you so much to Mel and the team who has made this experience a 10 out of 10. If you like a warm, friendly and attentive experience I would highly recommend you visit this pub. With more than 100 meals to cook, our group had 8 different mains and can't fault any of them. Very welcoming staff and atmosphere. Well worth a visit and we will be returning again soon.
