Headlands Restaurant in East Riding of Yorkshire

Staying at Flamborough for a few days, started with lunch at the Headlands. Very efficient service, fabulous choice on the menu, great food … especially the Yorkshire puddings with sausage and gravy … and a lovely cup of tea. Proper.

First visit to flamborough light house and cliffs so we thought we would have some breakfast at the headlands family restaurant and cafe bar . My wife ordered the scrambled egg on toast while I ordered the headlands breakfast, at a total of £24.50 it has to be the worst breakfast I’ve ever had, the quality of the food was very cheap & basic . My breakfast had two bacon , two sausages, one egg , chips , beans and tinned tomatoes, the sausages must have been the cheapest they could find and the tinned tomatoes and the juice made all the chips soggy , the table and chairs were in poor condition with scratches and chips on the table top and the table legs had a piece of tissue folded to stop it moving . For a lovely part of the country side next to the light house I expected a lot more , needs to be revamped and better quality of food used in their meals. I certainly would not recommend this place and definitely will not be returning.

I absolutely wouldn't rush back as the service was incredibly rushed and lacked a personal touch. The food quality was poor and certainly not value for money. Sadly I can't recommend this restaurant .

We decided to have lunch here as we’d walked to the lighthouse. It cost us £61 for 2 sandwiches, a kids meal, a crab salad 3 x 1/2 pint soft drinks and a tea. The salad was minimal, mainly cabbage, although the crab was nice. It was accompanied by a slice of bread spread so thinly with ?butter I’m surprised they managed it. It classes itself as a restaurant but it is just a cafe. The place was also full of flies. Granted the doors were propped open, but they could have closed the doors and had air conditioning on. We won’t be going back.

We ate at the Headland Restaurant, and while there were some positives, the experience left us disappointed. First impressions were promising—meals coming out of the kitchen looked appealing, with portion sizes appearing generous, and the quality seemed excellent. The service was also quite good, with attentive staff ensuring everyone had what they needed. However, our enthusiasm quickly waned when we placed our order. We opted for an open crab and open prawn sandwich, which was priced at over £10 each, but this dish was a major letdown. The lack of a slice of bread on top felt like a cost-cutting measure rather than a thoughtful culinary choice. The generous salad garnish was uninspired. While the coleslaw could have been technically "homemade” the teaspoon size portion tasted as if the chef must have lived at an Aldi for this to have been true. The other meals we ordered were just okay, but nothing particularly memorable. Other diner’s meals looked great leaving us with serious menu envy!

Nice cafe but has a monopoly over the headland with the prices to match . We ordered eggs on slices of toast for 2 people and 2 cups of coffee and was charged £25 The eggs were the smallest i have seen . To me that was extortionate prices . I don’t like being ripped off so will not return to the cafe

Had bacon and cheese melt greasy bacon slapped in a baguette with cheese with cheesey chips that were so hard with the molten cheese welded to the bottom of the bowl so I had apple pie and custard because I was still hungry that was uncooked mushy pastry and hard apple and molten custard tea was OK but what a waste of £35 and the very abrupt woman at the till clearly fed up with her job not going again

I had a quick snack of a ham sandwich on brown bread , the ham was really tasty the bread very fresh and soft. Lovely cup of coffee too. Staff couldn't do enough and were really friendly. Place very clean and welcoming to dogs . Will definitely be returning 😍

the most inedible breakfast i’ve ever seen. Completely disgusting only was able to eat a few of the chips and a couple of bites of toast. Even the coke was undrinkable, flat and tasted like aldi cola. Also asked for two waters never received. Would not recommend this place even if you’re starving. i would rather eat something out of the bin.

Couldn’t eat any of the breakfast it was that grim. Cheap sausages, undercooked bacon and a nasty fried egg. Definitely don’t recommend.

covid safe apart from some staff who wear the mask on their chin and have total disregard for the one way system. now the positives.....the crab sandwich and salad was excellent [fresh] and very good value for the money

We ordered the haddock and chips and it was delicious and the fish cooked exactly how it's supposed to be. The staff was so nice and friendly. And it's wonderful to eat outside with the beautiful view of the sea in front of you.

This was a special find, beautiful views, walks and great food especially the fish and chips. Great staff very polite, helpful and kept the place clean. Will tell our friends to go and we will be back

Visit here regularly when in the area, often for breakfast or lunch. good food, reasonable prices, never had an issue with service. We however try to avoid when it gets busy. nice setting especially the new extension which recently opened. Will keep coming back.
