The food is great when its not too busy... I would personally stay away from peak times during summer, In the quiet months the food was consitently high quality and restaurant had a nice atmosphere. However approaching summer the place is packed and the layout really prioritises getting the most out of the space, expect increased wait times for food and and reduced consistency in regards to food quality. I would advise visiting at lunch time mon-thu for best results.

A wonderful experience from start to finish! Very friendly staff and fantastic food! One of the only places in the U.K. which was able to make an unsweetened iced tea for my husband. Definitely a must try!

Had a wonderful evening celebrating a special birthday, ten course tasting menu & we also stopped over in the beautiful Blossom suite. Food, service, ambience all wonderful! Can’t wait to return 🙂

The problem with recent reviews is that it only takes into account recent visits without taking the past into account When visiting London, usually once every 6 months or so, the Sherlock Holmes was one of our regular “must book” places for a meal with good food at good prices and fantastic staff. Always a full restaurant, it was fantastic. On our latest trip, we booked as usual, arrived at 6pm on a Friday night, and immediately struggled to work out why there were so many vacant tables. The reason quickly became obvious. A landlord change has given the pub a brand new menu. Out with the good value, great food, replaced with a ridiculously high priced niche cuisine which (from the vacant tables) has obviously alienated most of their existing clients. We left before ordering, and after profusely apologising to the waiter, his reaction made it seem fairly obvious that it was a reaction that he was very used to hearing. It’s honestly a shame to see such an amazing central London pub so empty, but if you’re wondering why you can still make a booking for what should be a fully booked night, the ridiculous new menu might give you an idea. I definitely wouldn’t recommend. Choose The Maple Leaf instead.

Having food allergies, it's hard to go out and find restaurants that will do their utmost best to make sure you have a good meal without worry. The chefs cooked my food separately, and offered alternatives to sides I couldn't have. And a vegan dessert gave the night a fab ending. The serving lady was faultless, can't remember her name! She double and triple checked my food wasn't cross contaminated. Totally recommend for their friendliness and fantastic customer service. A credit to the company.

Great service Food was excellent Primitivo was delicious if rather expensive We were very well looked after and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience apart from a fellow guest who resorted to a barrage of F. words at the end of the meal but our lovely waiter moved us to a quieter corner for our coffee
