Very nicely presented pub. On the ground floor there is no service, which means that even if you've got a table, you have to order, pay and pick up at the counter, regardless of whether it's drinks or food. On the first floor you will also be served at the table. Food is very good! The story of the namesake is beautifully described there. Recommendation: Table must be reserved in advance, otherwise you will leave disappointed.

Great bar/pub and restaurant. The pub has a very good atmosphere, fortunately no screens so conversations can still be held. The staff is friendly and helpfull. They serve multiple sorts of delicious beers and other drinks of course. While we visited the pub on a friday late afternoon it was pretty crowded and people enjoyed their accompany. The restaurant above is completely decorated and equipped in the theme of Sherlock Holmes and provides a plethora of paraphernalia. It is a joy to spend some time in “investigating” all the objects exhibited. The rooms in the restaurant still have the original wooden wall panelling and wall paper. Very pretty! Also here the staff is friendly and helpfull. The dinner we got served was excellent and against a fair price. I highly recommend this venue in order to drink, eat and enjoy the good atmosphere from old times.

Lovely little pub. The kiwi lady that works upstairs is absolutely lovely! The food is very english, so don't expect a lot of flavour. But the atmosphere and beer are excellent! Would definitely go back for a few pints.

Very rude and derogatory bartender who I felt was disrespectful. As a Sherlock fan I was disappointed. Also, they were out of the Sherlock and Watson Ales, which is not necessarily the fault of the bartenders. Should have communicated this. Note that they are closing for a refurb. However, it is quite unprofessional of management to run out of the two beers that make the pub famous.

I was just once. It's a nice place, I just drank here not eating. Was crowded but still nice.

We're on vacation and were drawn in by the name and loved the food. The fish and chips is fantastic and my wife loved her sirloin steak sandwich. The service is also fantastic. You might want to make reservations. We didn't know but we still got a table.

Very well located near Trafalgare Square, this pub with a retro Sherlock Holmes-themed atmosphere is perfect for a lunch break when visiting London! The Fish and Ship and the Burger are very good!

Kids food menu on line is redundant as they do not do a childrens menu. Only found out when attending the pub after booking. Food came out at different times a group of six adults two children so not that big of a headache!

Sherlock Holmes is a great pub with a fantastic atmosphere and superb service. The staff are friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. The only downside was the fish and chips, which were a bit bland. It also got quite crowded on Friday afternoon, but that’s to be expected in a popular spot. Overall, a solid place for a classic pub experience!

The Sherlock Holmes is a brilliant pub full of charm and character. The atmosphere is cozy, with a great selection of drinks and friendly staff. The nods to Sherlock Holmes throughout the pub make it a unique spot for both fans and visitors. A perfect place to enjoy a pint and soak in a bit of London’s history. Highly recommend!

Great food! The Fish and Chips and the Chicken are not greasy and Bacon on Ciabatta bread had generous filling. It all tasted so good. Plus the decor is so fascinating. The lady that attended to us even briefed us on the history of the pub. I would highly recommend this pub. It's worth returning to.

Small but in a cool part of down just a little walk from great views of Big Ben and the eye of London. The food was fair in price.

A nice place to enjoy a good cocktail. We also made small snacks, but I forgot to take a picture in time and now the picture only shows the bones, but the taste was very good.

Nice and cozy pub in the heart of London. The service was very authentic and heartfelt and we loved our little breather in the rainy London in the midst of our visit. I ordered the beef tenderloin sandwich, my daughter ordered the chicken sandwich, my husband had the BLT, and then we had fries on the side. The food arrived promptly even though it was getting busier. We managed to get there right before the rush hour and were able to get a table without a reservation. But I do recommend reserving as it tends to get crowded.

We found this fantastic pub while walking to our hotel. We enjoyed it so much the first time we visited that we made a point to return before we left London. The food was good, and the service was prompt and friendly.

Nous sommes tombés dessus par hasard et avec des enfants fans de Sherlock on a essayé. Accueil bar un peu rustre mais pour les repas c'est en haut. Magnifique déco on est dans le thème. Nous n'avions pas réservé mais servi rapidement et copieusement. Serveuse très sympathique. C'est calme, belle ambiance, prix raisonnables, et ma fille ado a souri tout le long...ce qui est rare !

Very nice place, I expected more from the burger... But the staff were still great. A little cramped and if you are with more than two people it is a good idea to make a reservation.

Upstairs dining for a pre-theatre lunch, we enjoyed a lovely potted crab, fries and sandwich lunch. Jo and Nat were fantastic and great fun serving us. Thanks both

We went for a Sunday roast on Sunday during our trip to London. The staff was super friendly, especially to our 2 year old daughter. The food was good too (the roast potatoes could have been better) and the ambience was unique too. Can only recommend. And the price was acceptable and value for money.

It is definitely a no go to me! My BF and I were treated very badly. The staff doesn’t care about you and the food has nothing special!

Great service and great atmosphere. Try the House Ale: Sherlock Holmes. Fish and chips very good! Fish was juicy and crispy breaded. There is also sauce with it.

An atmospheric place worth visiting. Exceptionally friendly service in the room on the first floor, where the restaurant is located. A typical British pub on the ground floor. If you are planning a meal, it may be difficult to get a table, so it is better to book in advance. The dishes are typical traditional English cuisine, so satisfaction depends on individual taste preferences.

We were a family of 3 including a child of 6 years. We had a lovely dinner after a long day out. We were served by Jo who was so sweet to talk to, my son enjoyed joking around with her and she made the whole experience that much more enjoyable. The food was delicious, with an option for my son, some chicken nuggets which went down a treat. I had the fish and chips which was a very good portion and tasted great and my husband had the grilled cheese which too was very filling and tasty. We’d definitely recommend it and also go again 🫶🏻

Completely uninspiring. Steak and ale pie, a great lump of cabbage, and dreadful lumpy mash don't make a decent lunch. Don't fall for the hype. Have a pint and leave. A total embarrassment!! Go anywhere other than there!!

I went two days in a row and it was fully booked. I was lucky enough to get a table, so I ordered a Sherlock Holmes ale and fish and chips. Due to the weak yen, I held out for the second cup. Both were delicious. Also, the window glass of the shop has Sherlock Holmes' face painted on it, and there are many Sherlock Holmes-related items on the second floor. I couldn't see the second floor. If you are a Sherlock Holmes fan, please come and see it.

A bit expensive for a pint but the highlight by far is the little Sherlock Holmes study upstairs. I’d definitely consider this a must visit for any Sherlock fans.

Only went in for a few drinks while we were down on holiday, never ate as we ate elsewhere but the pub was clean and comfortable, the Sherlock room upstairs was brilliant

Great old English pub, serving classic favourites like Sunday roast, beef pie, and fish and chips. The interior is like a museum to Sherlock Holmes. Great service from dynamic sisters: Nat and Jo.

A guide recommended it to us and the truth is that it was very good, the service was very friendly and the atmosphere was spectacular, all set in the mythical detective, a typical English pub to eat and drink beer.

This place has the same menu as the community of pubs in the area (those with the green sign) and the same affordable prices. The atmosphere is pleasant and the setting is excellent. It took a long time to bring out the dishes, but everything tasted good. There is a little room with details of Sherlock Homes, so it is perfect for fans of his stories.

Couldn’t be more happy to experience the legend himself Sherlock. Must visit for a Sherlock fan.

Great experience! We came on Saturday evening without a reservation, and in 15 minutes we found a place, the fish and chips were excellent and the lady was very, very pleasant. We will definitely come back next time 😊

What a fantastic place to eat or drink when in London. We had prebooked a table for dining service to celebrate my daughter's 16th birthday. We were welcomed in with a friendly smile and chatter from the staff, making us feel comfortable from the get go. The artefacts dotted around the rooms are a great addition to the experience. Food was the best I'd eaten all weekend in London and it is definitely where we will book to eat when visiting London again. We were able to get 15% off with our AA breakdown membership, this is available at most Greene King pubs. Value for money we thought was excellent. My daughter asked to purchase a mug from the merchandise they sell and they wouldn't let her pay for it, instead giving it as a gift for her birthday which was such a lovely gesture from what I presume was the landlady/owner? overall a fantastic dining experience, would recommend and will definitely return.

Dog are welcome, not kids. We’ve been asked to leave since “their policy” does not allow kids after 8pm. Weird and meaningless Discrimination.

We booked a table in advance and I'm glad we did as it was pretty busy. I took my Niece here for lunch. Shared a burger and a side Mac & Cheese.... it was all really tasty. Above all, the staff are fantastic and really made our visit. Both ladies are attentive, happy and give you their time. Thanks for a lovely lunch and for looking after us!

I have to say, what a wonderful gem of a place. Immediately opposite the hotel we're staying in and, for once, I didn't fancy touring the streets looking for somewhere to eat. Talk about lucky, talk about Golden Balls. Lovely pint and lovely food and staff were great. Oh, yeah, I'd recommend
