The Sterling in City of London, Westminster

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and private dining area for our guests. The staff were very accommodating, friendly and attentive. The food was really good; the only reason I'm giving one less star for the food is that it was slightly cold upon arrival, but quality overall was excellent!

Really special to eat in the gherkin, albeit on the ground floor. Special food, but portion sizes are quite small. They did well to cope with our large group, through service was a little slow. Good value for a special meal.

We had the salmon and beef steaks - both nice but the Salmon was perfectly cooked.

Very friendly service and a tasty sandwich in a pleasant setting where it was quiet enough to have a proper conversation

Had my leaving party here, Evie and the team could not have been more helpful both beforehand and on the day. Excellent space reserved and the service was fantastic, great evening

I was greeted and shown to my reserved area which was spacious and nice. The service from all of the staff was great, courteous and smiley with quick service when needed to get a large drinks order. We didn't have food so can't comment really but maybe next time when having lunch.

Teníamos un espacio reservado para un evento grupal y una señora en particular circulaba por el espacio para recoger gafas, nuestro grupo fue útil para pasar sus gafas y alejarse del camino para que pudiera navegar por el espacio, y tristemente en lugar de una sonrisa y un agradecimiento, ni siquiera reconoció a nadie. La actitud era bastante vil. También había un número de empleados detrás de la barra que no hacían mucho en absoluto .. en realidad tuvimos que preguntar hola ¿estás sirviendo? No solo para nosotros, sino que también tuvimos que señalar a otras 3 personas en el bar de pie esperando. ¡Literalmente una broma! Las bebidas aquí están en el extremo superior que no te importaría dada la ubicación, sin embargo el servicio realmente arruina el lugar. Tristemente no volvería.

En primer lugar, estaba absolutamente helado en el restaurante. Pedí un tazón de rancho con haloumi añadido (que estaban fuera, volvieron y me dijeron después de que había pedido). Cuando surgió, había la mitad de un aguacate que obviamente había pasado su mejor momento y marrón. Llamé al camarero y le pregunté si se podía cambiar y regresó con mi ensalada sin aguacate. Luego fui evitado por todo el personal sin check back (bastante seguro de que sabían que diría algo sobre el aguacate desaparecido). Mi colega tenía el curry de pez monje que aparentemente era muy agradable. £ 16 para una ensalada muy promedio, pequeña, ir a la carretera y obtener un Hone Poke! I went there for new year eve and I didn't like a place, so old walls need refurbishment, so small place with many peoples in. Need to pay extra money for cloakroom. Drinks expensive and nothing special, dj was worse I didn't like music atol.I didn't enjoy there much

Asistir a un evento en The Sterling at The Gherkin fue una de las experiencias más abrumadoras y embarazosas que he tenido. Para un lugar con una dirección tan prestigiosa, uno pensaría que tendrían una pizca de profesionalismo, pero no. Primero, no había camarógrafo. ¿Cómo organizas un evento y no tienes un fotógrafo profesional para capturar los momentos? En cambio, los invitados se quedaron tomando fotos borrosas y amateur en sus teléfonos, lo que es completamente inaceptable para lo que se suponía que era una ocasión de alto nivel. Y hablando del evento en sí, el montaje fue ridículamente malo. Staff Christmas lunch. A lovely venue, everyone really enjoyed it - some said the best Christmas party yet! We were especially impressed by the food - and the service was excellent

Went here for a works do and it was excellent. Lovely looking place, very friendly staff but the food was exceptional. We were served lots of hors d'oeuvres which were hot and very tasty. Also very well organised

Very good food (I recommend the steak!) but the atmosphere is often very busy with people drinking at the bar and service is slow. Not the best place for a business meeting, but fine for a long drinking lunch

I saw this restaurant by coincidence and I wanted to try it since it had high reviews. I have to say I was impressed by the concept and how they made a theme for each place and for the overall decoration. The food is super delicious, service was amazing. We recently visited Sterling for a business lunch. The food was delicious (particularly the Ribeye Steak), and was served really quick. Lady gave us a great service, she understood that we wanted to take our time to select our meals and explained all of them in great detail. She even helped us choosing a red wine that ended up being one of the best we had tried. Looking forward to visiting again!

I recently went to the Sterling for some after work drinks and a bite to eat. The atmosphere was lively but the bar service was still quick and easy. Was served by Selina, she was both personable and gave me a great recommendation on a new beer. We then sat down for food and I must say it was up there for the best food I’ve had in London. we were served by Lauren who took her time to explain what was on the menu and recommended me the fisherman’s basket. The fish was cooked perfectly and you could tell it was fresh. Over all a great experience and you can expect me back very soon!

Visited Sterling this evening and asked for a table in the (almost empty) dining area to have meals from the “all day” menu and was told they cannot serve from the all day menu and only the bar tapas unless you pre-book from the day before. It’s frustrating as this guidance nowhere to be found on the website. Disappointing, save yourself the wasted journey.

We went there for Christmas lunch.The place was nice, and the service was good enough, but food was quite average: small portions, plates - barely warm and average presentation. Not a bad place, but nothing special.

Just wanted to say your barman, Adam can be taught a lesson in politeness. We visited the bar after work, it wasn’t even that busy on a Tuesday, probably about 5 people at the bar. My colleague asked if you had a certain Gin, Adam says no, so she looks over the bar to see what Gin’s you have. Adam goes: well hurry up because you should know what you want before coming to the bar and I have other people to help. Excuse you?!
