The food speaks for itself, so good. The depth of flavour from such beautiful ingredients, sublime. The wine pairings were a pleasure. The staff were unassuming with a nice touch of humour and great knowledge of the food and wine. Theo was busy but took time to wave a hello through the kitchen window. We’ve been here a few times now and will look forward to the next time.

Another great evening with friends who reminded me that the last time we all dined at this restaurant was just before the opening of the London Olympics (in 2012) when the restaurant was full of well known athletes who were attending rather than competing from the sounds of enjoyment of their food at the time. Great cooking with Theo in the kitchen as usual and excellent front of house staff. He is truly lucky to have such a great team both in the restaurant and in the kitchen. Stand outs for me are the fresh focaccia and tomato tart appetisers, cheese soufflé and main course veal dish accompanied by zucchini fritti and salad followed by cheesecake. The blood orange sorbet is excellent too. Go and enjoy before it gets swamped by social media. Salute

Most important: food was excellent as usual, both in terms of quality ingredients and cooking. Service team was brilliant: unobtrusive but always ready. I was struggling to read the menu since I did not have my glasses with me and a waitress came and provide a magnifying lens without me asking! I would like to specially mention Peter, attending our table: friendly, always focused and ready to provide advice & explanations. Summing it up we had a brilliant evening !

Another excellent evening at Theo Randell. On this occasion, we had the opportunity to have pre-dinner drinks in the bar of the restaurant which I can recommend. Great cocktails and freshly roasted almonds. Barman’s recommendations were excellent. Then on to another great a la carte meal. This is really the place to come for pasta although the cheese soufflé is not to be missed. Guinea fowl and veal were excellent as were main course pastas. Let the sommelier help you out. His recommendations are really interesting and not very expensive (unless your budget takes you there). On each occasion, he has presented an interesting wine/ grape that none of the table (of 4) had tried before and went well our food. Last but not least we were surprised to be serenaded with a singer and keyboard player with a medley of songs that was not too loud and are known to all ages.

I had lunch with my son on Thursday, 23 January and it was splendid. I had the Roast guinea fowl (Arrosto di faraona) and it turned out to be the best I have ever had. The blend of prosciutto di Parma, mascarpone on pagnotta bruschetta and Portobello mushrooms with a tang of zesty lemon made it most palatable. My son, Ugo who had Fresh pasta with slow-cooked beef in Chianti and San Marzano tomatoes (Pappardelle con ragù di manzo ) said it was truly delicious and I must be ordering it in my next visit. Wonderful and friendly service, great ambience!

The monthly changing regional menus are a brilliant way to taste the flagship dishes and wines from the different regions of Italy. At £75 for 4 courses and 3 wines it, has to be one of the best value offerings in central London for this calibre of restaurant. It says a lot about a restaurant when you see the high retention of staff, many have been with Chef Theo for years and clearly care a lot about what they do, and ensuring that the guests have a great experience.

If you're seeking authentic, high-quality Italian food paired with luxurious yet relaxed service, look no further! I had dinner at Theo's on 27th December with my partner, my mum visiting from Italy, and my mother-in-law. The food was absolutely outstanding- the cappelletti were divine, and the Nebbiolo wine, expertly recommended by Peter, our waiter, and Astrid, sommelier, was a perfect match. Theo is not only a brilliant chef but also incredibly warm and welcoming, adding to the overall experience. What truly set the experience apart was the warm, friendly, and highly professional service. Peter was not only attentive but also brilliantly funny, adding a wonderful sense of fun to the evening. Anamaria, the manager, ensured we were thoroughly looked after from start to finish. The festive cocktails at the end and the dessert selection were the perfect finishing touch. Thank you for such a wonderful evening!

Had a lovely ‘business menu’ lunch here today, a Tuesday. £33 for 3 courses each. The salami with fennel was the winning starter and both pasta dishes (beef pappardelle and ‘green ravioli’) were amazing. A creamy ice creamed affogato and Amalfi lemon tart were nice finishers. Great single glass matching recommendations from our waiter, thank you. A nice dining room and bar, and good to see Mr Randall at the pass. Attentive friendly waiting staff, not at all pushy. I went with a friend for their special New Year's Eve dinner. The food was very good as usual and the service was excellent. My only complaint was that we expected a more festive atmosphere in view of the special (quite high) price for the set menu and were disappointed. There were virtually no decorations and the music was very low key and virtually inaudible from where we sat. By midnight the place was more than half empty so no real festive atmosphere at all. I would certainly go back for the food on a normal evening but not for this type of 'special' event.

My husband and I wanted a taste of Italy to lead us into Christmas and we could not have chosen better with Theo Randall’s Restaurant: a warm, welcoming atmosphere, superb service and, the icing on the cake, we had a warm chat with Theo himself at the end thanks to our lovely waiter Rahim. We chose the Festive Menu and were delighted: • Delicate Parma ham slices draped with shavings of parmesan cheese beautifully complemented by sweet roasted delica squash, wet walnuts and drops of aged balsamic vinegar; • Intensely flavoured, duck and chestnut ravioli in a delicious mushroom sauce; • Perfectly cooked Lake District lamb rump, delicately fennel-scented on a rainbow array of tender vegetables and kissed with Amarone wine sauce; • Panettone bread pudding with sweet vin santo gelato (not my favourite as I am not a fan of candied peel, but very seasonal); • All the savoury courses perfectly paired with delicious Italian regional wines. A very special evening. Will we go again? Most definitely YES! We can’t wait to try some of the Regional Menus. I am hoping pastina in brodo (with lashings of parmesan) will feature some time: a firm childhood favourite in Rapallo that is difficult to find these days! Thank you to Theo and all your wonderful staff for conjuring warm memories of Italy!

UPDATE: The Intercontinental reached out to me after seeing my review on social media, claiming they take these issues seriously and wanted to contact me about it - I followed up and they read my message without reply. So they are aware and acknowledge their staff treat guests this way - they just don't actually do anything about it. AVOID. - I usually only ever leave reviews if they're positive, but as I've just left from dinner at Theo Randall, I'm still in shock at the way front of house treated me when arriving and leaving the restaurant tonight. Her behaviour was inexplicably hostile and unprofessional, which leads me to believe her treatment towards me was racially charged and made me feel unwelcome as a young person of colour, and due to this has left an overwhelmingly negative lasting impression of my whole experience dining at Theo Randall at the InterContinental tonight. When I arrived at the restaurant, I gave my coat to front of house to hang up. She was about to hang my coat on top of another coat on the same hanger, which I asked her to not do as it is unhygienic practice. She seemed somewhat irritated by my request and explanation for it, and I felt relieved when she took us to our table and left us as she seemed to give off a hostile aura. After dinner I left alone ahead of my party and greeted her smiling back at front of house. She would not look at me. She did not say a single word when I greeted or thanked her. She gave me my coat and went back to her post in absolute silence and ignored me as i left. It was hostile and demeaning without a doubt, and it has undeniably ruined my experience dining tonight despite the amazing food and service. I hope the InterContinental reviews staff training and standard of front of house service because I simply cannot recommend this establishment knowing this is how staff at The InterContinental treat young people of colour and think they can get away with it when others aren't there to witness this behaviour. Disappointed as we spent hundreds on dinner tonight and every other member of staff in the restaurant and the hotel were so friendly and outstanding. EDIT: When the rest of the dinner party left after me, they said she was friendly and greeted them and did not act at all how she had with me.

Ok Theo, here we go. We love your food, we cook your recipes all the time and the food at the restaurant was excellent, 5 star (we'll overlook the overpowering fennel in the lamb dish which wasn't mentioned in the menu. However, 1. your business model sucks. Nearly £8 for a bottle of fizzy water that cost £1 retail. £8 for an espresso/ristretto. The most I have ever paid in Italy is €2.50. Some wines are ridiculously expensive. The local bistro near our house in France - maximum €52 for 2019 CdP from a renowned domaine. And the service charge (and the suggesting a gratuity on the bill!). Thank goodness we didn't order a wine at £250 - we would have paid nearly £34 extra just for someone to open it and put it on our table! We worked out that the likely service charges would have probably covered the whole salary bill for the evening. Which brings us on to the service. Initially, we felt quite rushed. I'm sure you will agree, Italian is about slow food. We were asked for a drink choice almost the moment we sat down despite not being given a cocktail menu. We were then expected to order our food at the same time. No. The whole point of a cocktail is to peruse the menu at one's liesure. We received our cocktails, which were excellent (but pricey), and made our menu choice. Anti pasti arrived way too soon, we were only halfway through our cocktails. Mains arrived almost as soon as antipasti plates were taken away. You staff obviously didn't get the hint of the leisurely pace we ate and enjoyed our anti pasti. Most staff were excellent. Our server or whatever title they have was, by contrast, poor. Not very chatty and difficult to understand. Clueless about wine, bringing us a pinot noir instead of pinot and part of the rushed process, constantly checking if we had finished our course. At the prices for wine, I would have expected some input from a sommelier.

Can’t ask for more than that! * Brilliant, creative cocktails * Insalata mista was outstanding, just a hint of mint and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar, perfectly balanced * Cappelletti di anatra gorgeous, luscious duck and porcini stuffed pasta * Pappardelle con ragu di manzo solid ragu sauce and fresh pasta with just the right al dente bite * Filetto di manzo with Amarone sauce such a satisfying plate to eat on a cold November evening, stick to your ribs good 2024-07 Our must-go-to restaurant in London. Another dinner (October 2024) and a superb meal. Minestrone and pappardelle con ragù di manzo were very good indeed; the roasted turbot for two with roasted vegetables was outstanding; the Amalfi lemon tart was, as always here, of the highest quality and the pannacotta was top notch too. The two wines by the glass – a Barbera and a Ribolla Gialla – were very well chosen and very good value. And, as a final touch, a home made limoncello was totally unlike any commercial bottled variety, vibrant with the Amalfi lemon flavour and a fitting conclusion to a first class meal. Also, notwithstanding that the restaurant was very busy and the staff were fully stretched, service was not only smooth but very pleasant. This was a special experience. On a further visit, the August 2024 Regional Tasting Menu (Campania) was well balanced, with all the dishes being of high quality and the pasta (fresh tagliatelle with vongole, mussels, prawns, squid, white wine, garlic and parsley) outstanding. The matching wines were, as ever, well chosen and the service was, as ever, smooth and personal. Excellent. Five stars only because more are not available. Quality ingredients, first class cooking and presentation, generous portions, service which was both professional and personal, and well-chosen ‘sommelier’s choice’ wines to accompany the Signature menu. This was very good value indeed, making us wonder how some others justify their prices, seemingly from another world.

Highlights: the food is excellent. Brilliantly flavoured, very generous portions (if you are going a la carte, you probably don’t need all four courses), and well presented. Lowlights: service was polite but perfunctory. Drinks orders were slow to be taken, occasionally forgotten about, and we didn’t feel at all ‘special’ which is disappointing at £150 a head. That said, we could see a family on another table being well looked after. Service is 13.5%. Ambiance is - perhaps unsurprisingly - ‘hotelly’. No table-cloths, which is good for the planet but means there are lots of hard surfaces for sound to bounce around. The cubicle in the gents bathroom needs a bit of a repaint and new door lock. Given a choice between coming back here or Murano round the corner, we’d go with Murano for the overall experience.

We came for the Saturday brunch. Perfectly pleasant but not stunning. I was here twice in Feb for dinner which probably rated higher. The first course buffet was nice but it lacked the wow factor. Main course salmon was good. I had the crispy pork and it was very nice indeed but the roasted potatoes somewhat hard and I only ate about 1/3rd. Desert was nice with 4 small portions which gave choice. Nice if they had added a sorbet or ice cream. Service was nice and attentive once we settled in The start was poor with my having to ask for ice twice and then a VERY long wait before it came but once it came the first time it was topped up without any request More disappointing was the waiter at the start who wanted to push the drinks package on us. I said no but he was insistent that he went through them. I told him no again adding that we didn’t drink alcohol. This was after I had said three times we would just like tap water with ice! He had a go at describing the mocktails but finally accepted defeat. But the ice needed two prompts

We came here for my wife’s birthday dinner, and party because I wanted to try the chefs food for quite a while, as I’d been many yrs ago when he and Jamie Oliver were cooking in river cafe, so my expectations were quite high, I did think ‘Theo’s restaurant’ had a star… I later understood why not…. My wife is Italian 🇮🇹 so knows her stuff & im an x chef, to be honest the food was a bit of an anti-climax, Michelin prices for Osteria style food. The service was very attentive and good, and the decor definitely needed a refurbishment, and music/band playing 1970’s music was a bit dated & loud. We had pre-drinks in the bar area and could here music quite loud at times when we were speaking/reading menu, There was a couple on this particular night one singing one on an instrument/guitar (a bit 1970s we thought ). which was my first clue of expectations dwindling, we were showed to table and could choose which one we wanted, ( the restaurant only had 2 other tables at that time, 6 the whole evening ( so about 20 coustomers possibly that Thursday night 🤷♂️ ) then we noticed the furniture in the booth that we were sitting in had some marks on it and could possibly could have been reupholstered, another clue to evening ahead…. Anyway, we ordered the food, The wife went for the cheese soufflé, which was quite heavy & not to her liking (left 1/2 ) I had tuna tartare which was nothing mind blowing and dated garnish. Pasta course I went for the seafood pasta. The pasta was definitely not al dente or to my wife’s liking. My wife had the cappelletti (we thought it was going to be like hermother’s soup, it wasn’t ), wife disappointed…. My main of Guinea fowl ( which staff recommended )looked like mother in law had cooked at home nothing mind blowing or special and a little dry….. However, the dessert was a nice touch with a happy birthday message…. Then obviously the battle came to our surprise approximately £100 per head considering my wife doesn’t drink alcohol that was quite high….. Overall, slightly disappointed… and won’t b returning…. My wife’s Italian clothes company I don’t think would either sadly….

An amazing experience. The masterclass was informative, engaging and very enjoyable. We are looking forward to trying to replicate the dishes. The meal in the restaurant was lovely and the wine pairings were delicious.

The regional menu continues to be excellent value for money. 4 courses with 3 glasses of wine from the relevant region for £75ph has to be good value. The staff were as ever attentive and efficient.

My family and I had a wonderful experience at Theo at The Randall, Sunday Brunch. It was our first time in The Intercontinental Park Lane. The hotel was beautiful and the staff were professional, welcoming, and friendly. The ambiance was warm, welcoming, and sophisticated. The buffet was exquisite and enticing, from the beautiful salads, seafood, dips, condiments, charcuterie, delicious choices of roasts, including fish, the selection of breads, many cheeses, fruit, cakes and desserts, waffle and omlette station and the trolley with the delectable and unique Pimms jelly. The service from all of the staff was exemplary. They were attentive and made us feel valued and special.

We opted for the monthly regional tasting menu which for August was Campania. It was a 4 course menu with 3 courses accompanied by a matched glass of wine. Each course was well prepared and delicious particularly the 3rd course which was beef and just melted in the mouth. We find the regional tasting menu very good value and the wine chosen is always so complimentary. The staff are good as well and when we asked if they could write down the wines for us they provided a copy of the menu which was personally signed by Theo Randall - a really nice touch. We'll certainly be back for another month's menu.

We have visited Theo Randall many times over the last few years - the Festa in Famiglia lunch is a real treat and also good value. There is always a creative buffet to begin with followed by your choice of main course and dessert. Our waiter Peter was amazing and made the whole experience very enjoyable and memorable. It's a great setting and ambience - go! You will not be disappointed

This is my second time at Theo Randall - though it's more than 10 years since I first ate here. I went in tonight without a reservation to have the set menu. This must be the best value dining in London. We're talking delicious ingredients, excellent cooking and really charming service for a very fair price. My waiter Peter was great - engaging, charming and attentive. The guinea fowl dish is just a delight, as the sharp lemon tart. I was genuinely really grateful and privileged to be invited to go into the kitchen to meet Theo. He was humble, charming and very generous with his time. A really excellent evening!

Yesterday went to Theo randall to celebrate my bday with a friend. Since we walked in, the atmosphere absolutely positively surprised us. A great shady atmosphere alongside a very polite customer service. Peter, the waiter, was incredible friendly and joyful since the early beginner. We decided to chose the “Sardinia tasting menu” and wow! The pre-course, a sweet fresh rich tomatoes toast, ordered from Italy, was stunning! The focaccia also very tasty. The remaining plates absolutely stunning too! Also, me and my friend didn’t fancy lamb, so Peter and the Chef were the most kind and exchanged the original plate to another one, so we couldn’t miss the full tasty experience. The bartender came to serve us wine, 3 times. And let me say, amazing wines! Overall 10 ⭐️ Price quality absolutely stunning! Can’t recommend this place enough. And of course I will come back.

Cannot fault the food or service however very little ambience. Too dark, not at all cosy, no Italian background music, a bit like a canteen

Incredible Weekend brunch with a starters buffet table and mains served to the table finishing with a sharing dessert platter. Bottomless options with prosecco and wine included. The gamberetti (prawns) and arancini were perfectly crisp, huge variety of salads catering for vegan and vegetarians. They adapted the menu and provided a halal option of chicken for main. Staff were wonderful. Highly recommend

This was the best meal I had in London on a week-long stay. I knew nothing about it in advance and was not staying at the Hilton, so stumbled upon it online. What a fortunate find! The food was outstanding. The lightly braised squid appetizer (over beans and arugula) was excellent. The liver main, served with spinach, mushrooms, and flash fried sage, was probably the best liver preparation I have ever had. Unbelievably mild and subtle. The lemon tart for dessert was also excellent. The prices are reasonable (for high end dining) and the wines are very good. My server was funny and very helpful (I'm terrible with names, but the receipt listed him as Peter G.--I hope that is right). All in all, a great experience.

Service was fantastic and food matched. Cocktails and negroni selection excelled, with unexpected flavour details. Of course it's not a cheap experience but it feels high-end and worthy of a celebration meal. The only potential negative would be sitting next to a party table, but that can't be helped and the waiter did a great job of controlling them.

Having stayed and eaten at a number of Intercontinental hotels and always been impressed, I decided to book Sunday brunch at Park Lane for Father’s Day. It sounded good and varied when booking but when we arrived, the restaurant was somewhat underwhelming (poor decor, dimly lit and not at all fitting of a 5* hotel) as was the salad and cold buffet. At £70 a head I would have expected far more variety and a higher quality of produce. The bread rolls were cold and relatively tough (and not with the salad buffet at all but with the sweet buffet!) Our waiter was very pleasant but clearly new to the role and not particularly responsive. The beef wellington was delicious and the star of the show and for a buffet the vegetables and roast potatoes were well cooked but the chicken looked unappealing and I would have expected whole chickens roasted and served rather than rather pale and unappealing thighs on a heated trolley for a five star hotel. The sweet section was okay but all very cake based and the cheese was again somewhat standard and without crackers, chutney/qunice or fruit. At an additional £8 a coffee, I felt ripped off for what was standard filter coffee at best and £8 for a small Diet Coke also felt steep. At almost £300 for two adults and two children it massively failed to reach expectations and I am unlikely to return to the hotel for any of its dining options in the future as a result. A real disappointment sadly and a waste of money. There are many, many far better options in London for a fraction of the cost….

We liked the place. The staff was nice. The fish and chips were hot and delicious. The burgers were also simple and delicious. My husband would have drunk beer, it was brought to him from the place next door, because it is the same owner.

One of the worst experiences in a pub here in London. I live on St. James Square and won’t ever go back to this establishment as a result of how I was treated and the rudeness of the two staff members we had the encounter with. I liked this place for years but the current staff really crossed the line.
