We had an excellent lunch here. The lamb and Cumberland sausage dishes were well cooked with fresh vegetables and were very flavoursome. There are lots of gluten free options on the menu. Zero stars would be better but have to put at least one to do a review. Sunday dinner was virtually inedible. Deep fried stuffing balls. Tiny piece of chicken. Roast potatoes still raw. Cauliflower cheese with the most vile taste. All vegetables were stone cold. £55 for 2 Sunday dinners and 2 drinks. Spend your money elsewhere. Will not be visiting again. Tv blasting out football and music playing on the speakers trying to compete with it. Talk about bedlam!

After a long day walking and several wines, I managed to leave my handbag in the bar when we left the Albert. In my defence, I'd been so used to being without it walking that I sort of forgot about it, with all my money and cards in!!😱 I called the Albert the next morning and they had thankfully found it. They were so nice, and we went to collect it before they opened. It was a really great atmosphere in there during the evening, very buzzy and friendly. I recommend it!

Called in on a busy night but still manage to get a seat. Staff were pleasant and polite, lots of comfortable seating and a enjoyable atmosphere. On Ordered food was told it would be about a 50 minute wait, in fact we only waited 30 minutes. Fish and chips was enjoyable, huge portion of fish, crispy batter hot chips could not fault it. It was expensive at £21 but everywhere in the Lakes is expensive. It was extremely busy but it did quieten down around 8 o’clock after meals finish. Would return yes when we are next in the Lake District

Was very disappointed with the price of wine here. We frequented a few pubs over the three days we were there and here was the most expensive. A medium glass of red not premium was £10 a glass 🍷 two other people were saying the same for their white wine how much it was compared to other places which was around the £7. Will not how going there again not good value for your money,

Went for lunch and it was ok but nothing special. My wife ordered stew and dumplings and I ordered Cumberland sausage and mash. We were told it was a half hour wait but said that's fine. After about 40-45 minutes we were told that there were no dumplings. We changed the order to lamb rump. After a further 10-15 minutes the food arrived. We asked for mint sauce and the lady went to go get some. She returned after a further 5 minutes to say there wasn't any mint sauce. My meal was supposed to come with red cabbage but I got parsnips. Overall, for the price, we felt let down and wouldn't return.

We ordered 2 large Pepsi’s and we’re charged £9.25. I queried this with the barman as I felt this was quite expensive. He replied with ‘welcome to the Lakes’ with a sarcastic attitude. New management seem to be in place. The staff were rude and unwelcoming. The price of of a coke has now risen to £4.60 and when we just asked to double check to make sure it was correct, the response was a sarcastic "welcome to the lakes". The staff looked like something from the hills have eyes and the scruffy unifoms with untucked shirts were not a pretty sight. We're regulars and feel like we will not be returning to this establishment unless the ruffians who have now taken over, leave. Very upsetting as it is in a lovely part of the UK.

It is a great pub, food and location and we've been coming for nearly 20 years now. BUT beer prices have gone silly. I've started using cash to purchase stuff these days as I like to know what I'm spending insteed of waving a card. So asked for a pint and a half handed over a tenner to the nice lady and guess what pint and half is more than £10 pounds. She saw the horror in my face at the charge but was polite and apologised but that's what it was. I know you've got overheads but is it that bad you have to charge so Soo MUCH. Is it Rachel Reeves budget that you have to charge hard working people on low income so much to cover costs of overheads. I'm guessing yes and guessing it's going to go worst for hard working people.

He went above and beyond extra miles to help me pack up the food and gave me right in time, with smiley face all the time. I appreciate that he made my day. In addition, I would give -10 stars if I could to the old lady with grey hair and glasses though. She talks with no politeness at all. When I ask about how long it might take so I can plan accordingly, she criticized me with a harsh tone that I was absurd to wish for food like this(she did a finger click). I am ok if I cannot get the food in the end, but this is not the attitude I want with in a restaurant.

Booked a table for 8 family guests for my wife's birthday 2 weeks before the event. Advised the manager that my daughters family are vegan. Then she choose the chicken skewers - Sorry not available . Then she choose the Hunters Chicken- Sorry not available. She ended up with a pie. I choose the Baby Ribs - Sorry not available - How about the nachos - Sorry not available - how about the pie! My daughter's family asked - what are the vegan options? We can do a vegan burger but we do not have any vegan buns so it will come in French Bread or a slice of sour dough. We had a very poor meal and left without having a sweet. Genuinely haven't eaten such a bad lasagne since primary school dinners, coleslaw that's accompanied it was lovely though and just as well because that's all I got to eat :) never had a lasagne with just tomato sauce and pasta and no white sauce or cheese? When the waitress came over to take away our plates she had to ask me if I was finished. Before I could say anything she'd whisked away the plates and I was left feeling very sorry paying £17 for some coleslaw. However when I moved the fish and oil dripped off the side of the plate pooling enough that it fell on the floor that was my first clue that it wasn't right. I think they were trying to give the fish one last swim. The fish was so moist it felt like I was eating a broth. Worst part is I told the waiter and he acknowledged what I said but quickly shuffled off dismissing what I said entirely. I visited thai pub for a lovely sunday roast. I recommend. Staff are friendly and service is great. Prices are reasonable for roasts

We were a large party of 12 but unfortunately no-one can book a table on a Sunday! This is rare these days as people like to plan their mel times. We knew this is advance as we had been before. We waited for a short while and then the table was ready. This wasn't 1 table but we were spread across 3 separate tables which couldn't be put together and some had to sit elsewhere. This happened last time and this time we thought they would only allocate eating when it was ready for the whole party. Most went for the carvery. The vegetables were very good and the turkey really moist but the beef was so tough that you really needed a steak knife to cut through it. Overall a disappointing experience based upon the service, food quality and price/value for money.

Just popped in for coffee. Good friendly service and very nice coffee, priced as you would find elsewhere. Didn't eat but the display of pies and cakes looked tempting. Gluten free cakes available as well.

Good, old fashioned tea room. Warm and cosy. Good tea in a massive tea pot. Excellent toasted tea cake. In contrast to some of the recent reviews, we found them very friendly (and have on previous visits). It is up for sale. Hope the new owners don't change it too much!

2 night stay at the hotel with tasting menu the first night and breakfast both days. Views are incredible and can be seen from the front of the hotel, outside seating area, some of the indoor breakfast tables and some of the hotel rooms. Our hotel room was a double room (fell view), lovely sunrise view from the large windows, plenty of space and storage, comfy bed. The full English breakfast was lovely. Tasting menu had 5x courses plus bread and canapés. Delicious meal and staff very friendly. Lovely lounge area with topped up fire place. Good location for getting to Windermere and around during the day by a short car journey. My one pointer would be the heating in the bathroom was stuck on full blast, I appreciate these old places are prone to damp but it did feel a bit wasteful. Overall lovely stay and will be back
