All staff were lovely and friendly including the carvers. Olivia especially went above and beyond for us. Couldn’t fault any of the staff they are super friendly and helpful. Thanks :)

Going down hill, poor quality food, poor service

Me and my son went to order a takeaway carvery we was told it would be a 15 min wait which was fine they was busy. We sat nearly 40 minutes watched just eat divers commkng in and going straight away. The lad behind the asked if we was still waiting he went to check came straight out with it apologised Got home which is 5 mins down the a38 to find all the food was stone cold inedible we warmed it up in the microwave but still wasn't enough very poor. I ordered a portion of dauphinoise potatoes there was nothing like them at all potatoes cut too thick not even cooked in the middle no cream cheese or garlic. Spoilt by the whole meal

Re-visited 'toby carvery' after a number of years. Straightaway noticed the food on the carvery looked very good and appetising, good choice of meats and vegetables and my choices was very well cooked. Place was clean and tidy and staff on the ball. Will go again soon

Service was fab by Ellie! Overall was a really busy evening so the turn over of food was nice and quick and very fresh! A great variety of desserts that certainly filled us up!! Will definitely visit again during the weekend!

Booked to eat in the restaurant. But was sat at a table in the bar. Didn't like carrying my meal through all the people waiting to be seated when returning to my table . Food was excellent though. Was informed by chef meat fatty but did not find this to be the case .girl serving us very polite and service quick and efficient

I want to start with a huge thank you to Olivia our server, very polite, friendly and personable! Absolutely wonderful woman! If I could give the rating 5 stars just for her, I would without hesitation. The reason I didn't give 5 stars however, was this is our regular, but today the amount of meat given was a very small portion, and very minimal extra for the king size too which isn't usually the case. Other members of the family weren't impressed with the quality, which again, isn't usually the case. It was topped off with a member of the kitchen staff dropping the F bomb very loudly whilst storming back into the kitchen, I wouldn't mind this if j didn't have my young kids with me, especially as I've working front and back of house, I get it, I really do, but for the sake of professionalism, I felt it worth a mention.

Holly was our host, she was brilliant, been so many times before and normally waiting for a while at table for drinks but today holly was super fast and very friendly even got us a high chair Got too also shout too Chris and Pells super work

The food and drinks are reasonable price, the dining area is tidy and the waitress Holly G was very nice and helpful.

We were greeted at the door and seated in a tidy area of the restaurant. Our waitress HollyG was very welcoming and polite. The food was great, puddings arrived quickly. Great experience, will be back soon!

Had an excelled time today at Toby Carvery, the food was amazing and so was the staff. We was seated and accommodated by a girl called Holly G, she was very polite and did an excellent job!! I’d definitely recommend visiting.

First experience here and it’s probably the best Toby - food was aces as expected but the dining out experience is always made far more enjoyable with friendly and helpful staff. From front of house to the carver! Special thanks to Ellie our server for the prompt delivery of the all important pigs in blankets, pudding advice and chat - gotta catch ‘em all!

Came for some dinner on Sunday was sat promptly after a warm welcome from chloe was quickly served by our waitress lucy who was polite and lovely, food was delicious will certainly be back!!

Disgusting fatty beef, roast potatoes needed to stay in the oven, could hardly call them roasted.

So today had to be my worst experience of Toby we have ever had a we come regularly. So the systems were down today which wasn’t a problem. We thought we would try out look as it was around 3pm. So when we arrived we was greeted by a very rude and unpleasant member of staff wearing a flowery shirt. Who said have you booked we said we was having trouble as we couldn’t do it online. She rolled her eyes and said so you’ve not booked the restaurant was nearly empty at this point. She said well if you’ve not booked you will have to sit in the bar. Didn’t mind but her attitude was very rude and very hostile. I think she needs speaking to about customer service. She then went on to serve me at the bar which again very rude and not a way to treat paying customers. I asked for a receipt which had her name on Andrea. So please speak to this member of staff as I feel she needs retraining in customer service. Everything else as usual done very well food a great quality and very well stocked. It’s your staff that lets you down!!

It's a Toby but definitely one of the better ones staff were friendly and helpful. Food good and plentyful.

We had a carvery yesterday...we had booked online ...arrived to find the whole place was packed..staff were extremely calm, helpful.....we were shown to our seats...orders taken , drinks served to us quickly, the queue for the carvery was very long however didnt have to wait too long. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, hot, tasty and definately hit the spot!! Would highly recommend trying out the carvery....i am a non meat eater so just had veggies and a massive yorkshire pud with thick, tasty vegetable gravy....absolutely beautiful. Thanks to our server and the chefs....we shall be returning before christmas🥰

The manager on this day was extremely rude staff looked stressed,and almost scared to say anything to customers when asked what was wrong. Either way food Brussels hard carrots hard stuffing stuck to spoon turkey dry, gammon was beutifull. Oh I forgot roast potatoes not roasted . So if you want a plate of gammon or pork with Yorkshire puddings. "GO FOR IT"

There’s no i in team,this is what you’re staff need to learn,as a frequent visitor we were dissatisfied with the service last night,seated quickly as normal told that our server would we over shortly,but everyone was being seated in her area,so she was busy,but after waiting 10-15 minutes got the attention of one of the other girls,who was stood talking to another staff member,who basically muttered it’s not my area……..not really the attitude,help one another out and keep the customer happy is the correct attitude

Had a large roast but they were very tight with the meat and not a big selection of veg.

Quick and efficient service. Didn't have to question at all.

Love.coming here. Staff are great but sometimes the noise from 'families' can be a bit off ( mother on phone screaming at upset child who wants attention) Staff have a laugh with each other and none of their chefs are slim, so to me that's a great sign

brilliant breakfast as always good quality, hot food & clean staff was very polite what more do you need when little one is at school.

I have been a loyal customer for a few years now and today was the day I was due to set up a birthday party for tomorrow. Everything was finalised and cake was due for today then to be told that they could not accept outside cakes as per policy and procedure with hygiene. I made this request from the 1st of October and and preparations were underway and I had no mention of anything until the cake arrived. Meals were booked table decorations sorted then I get another staff who tells me this news. I guess happy moments are not celebrated by this place. So I have cancelled my meals and I all i got was ...sorry. I will not be dining here again. Thank you for investigating but the staff I had spoken with had said the day before when I asked. If I had known earlier instead of wasting my time then I would of happily gone elsewhere. Keeping the table was the last thing on my mind. Without the "cake" I was not prepared to stay. I cancelled and asked for a refund. I paid in full and preparations were due to be done then 1 day before when I had the cake ready in the car then I was told. So why would I want to keep the table? This is the first bad experience I have had and its the last.

Perfect service from Julie our waitress, the carver Kyle wasn’t at the deck when we arrived for our carvery but quickly saw us and attended to serve us our meats. The meal was lovely but my Yorkshire pudding tasted of washing up liquid, which then put me off my veg etc.

Meat portions are getting thinner portions. Emphasis on other veg/tasties/cheesies

Went in for a carvery last night, had a lovely meal and service was great, particularly from Holly G, she was so polite and very helpful. Portions were a good size and couldn’t recommend it more!

Came in on Sunday, busy as usual, Holly G our waitress was lovely, she made sure everything was okay for us and was very polite. Food was nice too.

4 of us for the carvery with a table booked. Just had to wait about 5 minutes for the table to become free, not a problem, so ordered drinks. The table became free, so we sat down. My son and his wife went to the carvery first then my wife and I. When I went up to the counter the chef tried to persuade me to have the larger plate version, I refused 3 times before he stopped. First thing on the plates was a damp dishcloth that was supposed to be a Yorkshire pudding (trade description act springs to mind). I asked for Pork gammon and the beef, when I got to the chef serving the beef she put one wafer thin piece of beef on the plate then followed that with some bits of crumbs that looked like the netting a beef joint is wrapped in. I had to ask her for a proper slice of beef , she then put on some crumbs that had broken off the joint exterior, I had to insist I be served a proper slice of beef. Where do they learn to cut meat so thin you can see through it? Next came the vegetables, a very large selection. Mashed potatoes first, these were lumpy and nothing like a creamy mash, I then chose some peas, these would be better used as ball for a flintlock pistol. Next, I chose my favourite vegetable parsnips, horrible lumpy and not properly cooked. I tride some cauliflower next, another let down. I then gave up and put some roast potatoes on my plate, these looked like cut potatoes that had been just browned off in the oven, nothing like crispy roasties. Finaly some gravy that had no label on it so just guessed that was normal gravy. Every, diner I saw just seemed to be piling their plate with mountains of vegetables perhaps to make up for the small ration of cut meats. It is about 5 years since I last came here it will be 100 years before I ever come again. Complete let down and just a conveyer belt of poor quality badly cooked food

Great service, cannot remember our servers name but we came in yesterday at 4pm and she was amazing, very friendly and attentive and made us aware of current offers we didn’t know about saving a substantial amount from our bill. Food was great, definitely recommend 😁

We booked a table but still had 40min wait as it was not free

The delivery driver had been given my wrong address and he had to ring me to see where my place was

from original time it was late ,no message to say new time , food stuffed together in small containers so lids came off ,food cold AND not enough gravy for size of food give 5/10 😒

Great food, and lovely service, it's very busy with good reason.

Only had a sandwich and waited nearly 30 mins for it and when it came the bread felt stall as it had been sitting on the hot plate for ages it had roast potatoes with it and they was cold

One of the best Toby Carvery places we have been to, made all the better by a young lady named Samantha!!! She is so warm, friendly, and welcoming. She is an absolute credit to you. She needs to be paid extra for her entertainment value. Brilliant night. 😍

Very fast service and lots of food available on the carvery. Server Andrea was very prompt and polite, Carver Darren was very quick and got through a pretty big queue in no time. Never disappointed with Toby Carvery. Extremely good value for money midweek also.

This Toby Carvery allows, well behaved Dogs to accompany their owners in to the bar area. There are dining tables within this area too, so you can still enjoy a delicious meal. To be honest I preferred the bar area as it was quiet compared to the main dining area. We visited Saturday afternoon around 1630hrs. The food was excellent plus the staff were lovely. I Highly recommend this Toby Carvery.

Carvery was very nice. Can’t thank our waitress HollyG enough she was amazing, very attentive and ensured everything was ready for us . She was very patient whilst we decided between the many puddings. Carver was called Tyler he was very nice too. Will definitely visit again.

Visited last Wednesday evening. Looked on the online booking site and it stated that there were plenty of available tables so we didn't book we just arrived literally 2 minutes after checking the app. When we arrived we were told there wasn't any availability in the restaurant ( I could see at least 4 empty tables) so we would have to sit in the bar area. Went to the table, ordered drinks at the bar. Glasses were hot , literally just out the dishwasher as asked for them to be changed. Went to get our carvery. Slippy carrots on the floor along with something indescribable. Food was fine . But sitting in bar area meant we were in with youngsters who's language was absolutely diabolical. Unfortunately one of the guys was a member of staff as he was complaining rather loudly about his shift the next day to a young waitress. It's a good job my elderly mother is deaf!!!!!! We definitely do not want to be listening to the foul language whilst trying to enjoy our own conversation and food. Upon leaving said 4 tables were still empty. Miserable front of house staff and bar staff. Won't be returning any time soon I'm afraid 😕

To say it was at there peak time we wasn’t waiting around for long until before we got seated. Had service from Jamie-Lea. They was spot on very polite and helped if there was an issue. Kyle the carver was top bloke very polite friendly and top bloke.

My son and Daughter in law invited us for Sunday Carvery here. We’ve not been to one in a few years. It was very busy so glad we had booked. The atmosphere was fun and friendly and The food was amazing. Our waitress Chelsea made us very welcome and we had a few giggles with Chris who carved our meat ( cheeky so and so lol )

Not been in for a while,lots of places doing Carvery dinners these days with plenty of choices- however consider today's value for money and their food quality,,, Toby was excellent

Been to many Toby carverys and this is definitely one of the best, we eat here regularly and food is always good. Georgia is the best waitress, always friendly and up for a laugh with my partner who likes to be cheeky ;)

Breakfast buffet. Great value and decent food. I had a breakfast Yorkshire pudding with sausage, hash brown, and breakfast gravy. Honestly, the gravy is a little sweet for me, but that's a personal preference, not a quality or complaint issue. Then I went back and tried the egg, bacon, black pudding, and mushroom. The eggs have lovely creamy yolks, and everything else was of a decent standard, especially for the price. Worth the money any time and made my Sunday much easier. It is self-service, but there are plenty of staff if you do need assistance.

Chelsea was a super star server, looks after the customers really well, and very pleasant and easy to talk to.

Normally have no problems at Toby carvery but today was disappointing. Not one smile from any staff. Our waitress was quite abrupt. Pudding came out wrong and didn't even get a sorry. Food wasn't as nice as normal hardly touched mine. Spent a lot of money but customer service and food not up to scratch at all. Won't be going back to this branch

Self service carvery, very busy public house

Food was delicious, very quick service. Julie our waitress was very attentive and efficient with her service. And was a delight to talk to.

Food was lovely and Julie the server was really nice and made us feel very comfortable BUT, after I had finished my food and was filling up a box to take leftovers home I found a hair on my plate under my food, which if I would have seen before eating I deffo wouldn’t have ate the food, although I do understand it is self serving and may not have been any of the staffs fault.

Beautiful food, arrived very hot, I asked for apple sauce and crackling if available and massive portions arrived! The delivery driver was excellent as well, very polite.
