Toby Carvery in Ashfield

Excellent food and customer service.

Thoroughly enjoy the carvery, everything is cooked nice and is very tasty, well worth a visit.

We spent our Valentines here, and I've got to say we have visited Toby Carvery on many occasions but yesterday was by far the best Carvery we have had! And we love a carvery. Absolutely spot on!

The carvery is well worth trying, will have the same on my next visit.

The beef is almost always good here, the rest of the meat is always good, potatoes and veg are good for a carvery and a good variety, there's often a long wait for a table of you don't book.

Food was average, Few things was missing from Vegetables.

Been a few times but this time they was very tight with the meat portions. In the past I couldn't complain though

Feed was really good apart from the pigs and blankets that up-sell you at the start. Seems like they'd been microwaved - but the carvery itself was lovely!

We was served by Jamie Radford, 5* service very polite we didn’t have to wait long for service at all.

just had a carvery at Toby carvery, excellent start to finish. Booked online which I'm pleased we did as the place was packed. Table service by was excellent. Very friendly welcoming and no waiting from start to finish. Atmosphere brilliant every one appeared to feel how we did. Well done Toby, we'll definitely be back 😊

We came quite a while ago and were very disappointed in carvery. Hardly any meat on plates, veg & gravy cold and we decided wouldn't come back. I recently had a money off voucher so decided to use it tonight and give it another go. We were very pleasantly surprised. We were seated in an area we had requested online, our server Alicja was welcoming and friendly with a big smile. The carver was Hollie and again pleasant & friendly. After this evening we are now prepared to visit again hopefully in the very near future.

Good service but some reason foods not piping like it normally is and where’s my beef lol ????? Only turkey

Order never arrived but says delivered who ever was supposed to deliver it I hope they enjoyed it. Will never be ordering from them again

As always great food and service, especially by Olivia, who had a great smile and sense of humour, and was there as soon as we all sat down, only negatives, gets really busy, with people waiting for their tables and then trying to get through and past these people with your delicious food, but wouldn't stop me coming.

Everything was good apart from the tables are too close together and you end up weaving in and out of them to get to where you're going

We had such a lovely evening for a family meal. Holly G was our server and she was brilliant so helpful and cheerful.

Delivery was prompt, the driver did a good job.

The manager is SO rude. I understand Sunday is a very busy period but there is no need to be rude. Was told we can sit at tables to the right, so we did. We then got told to move because there are no table. After going online we was able to see there was booking available for the next half hour. We obviously chose not to eat here due to how rude the manager was

Lovely coming here. The atmosphere is excellent. Out server was Hollie E and she was a bubbly and chatty young lady who was about to help us with all our enquiries. She made us feel welcome and hope to get her again next time.

I came in with my family and we had a carvery. It was well made and delicious. Had Hollie E as our server. She was a kind girl plus made us feel welcome. Me and my family can’t wait to come back. Hopefully we can have her as our server again

I had Hollie E as my server and she’s honestly the most kindest and lovely person I’ve met. I had the Mac and cheese it was so nice! Hollie was extremely attentive and hard working. I’m so happy I had her as my server

Just been here for lunch ... Booked yesterday as I knew it would be busy. Lovely meal and service as usual . Hollie E served us and was very attentive throughout our meal ..asked if everyone was ok and any allergies. Darren the carvery served us and again very nice and polite. Love this place

Food was delivered cold after over an hour. The driver said the app didn’t work… Just sorry for my kids who needed to wait so long and eat cold food..

I had a 50% off voucher, I wouldn't use another. Carveries are now over £10. Compared to a McDonald's it is maybe worth it. However I'd rather eat inside a Maccy D's restaurant. If you like rock hard burnt potatoes, dry crumbly burnt stuffing, raw in the middle cauliflower or hard undercooked dregs of cabbage then this is the place for you. Peas and carrots were ok. No other veg available. I do not like my roast to test my dentist's work. The building was so hot I was uncomfortably sweaty. When collecting my food there were so many dirty plates that the guy carving put aside to be rewashed. I'm trying to think of good points... The cutlery was nice, the place was clean and the staff were pleasant.

Booking online is so easy. The place can get very busy even in the week afternoons, so car parking can sometimes be a little tight, but generally you get in somewhere. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. We have visited this place several times and it has never failed to please up to yet. We usually have the carvery that has lovely meats, with a large selection of hot and fresh vegetables. Deserts are equally as good as the mains. Very reasonably priced, the whole experience is exceptional and we will definitely return again.

Says they have takeaway online. So I go in to do a takeaway, however, I was only given a carvery as a takeaway option. I didn’t want a carvery, I wanted to see the menu and take away something off there. I look at the carvery sheet they give me. I’m ticking the boxes for vegetarian carvery and what I’m wanting. But they didn’t have any meat substitutes, like fake meat? I was half expecting something to come out with the vegetarian carvery. All I got was veg, mash, stuffing, roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding for my meal but no actual meat substitution? After finally managing to hand the sheet over to a staff member at the bar, I waited and got my food fairly promptly. However, getting home. Though the carvery box felt warm. The food inside was not. But the apple pie I ordered was warm when I got to that. So it was just the carvery that was cold. There wasn’t enough gravy either for the quantities I was given. I needed 3 tubs ideally to manage a thin layer on everything. Most of it I had to eat dry because of the lack of gravy. Mixed experience overall Though the price was great and the apple pie was amazing, I feel like the quality of the carvery itself was a let down.

We waited just over an hour to be served and just wasn’t a good experience.

Clean. Great atmosphere. All staff are incredibly friendly, Olivia (Liv) on the bar when we came in was extremely helpful recommending menu items, and very polite! 10/10 for this Toby carvery! Would recommend.

Would have gave an extra star if there was enough gravy to cover the dinner. All the kids were moaning not enough gravy🤣 Apart from that it was lovely this time!

Carvary is really nice,plenty of choice and helpful friendly staff.

I haven't been here for a while so thought I'd give it a try. Food was lovely, the mash was next level. Soooo creamy. Our server Julie was lovely and very accommodating. The carver Ulada was great too, giving me an extra Yorkshire for my 10 month old. It's also nice to see a place that offers full fat pepsi with syrups. Will definitely be back.

Always full when we turn up. So must be good all round.

Absolutely horrendous, forgot my Pepsi and the food was tasteless and Cold, what’s happened to this place?

Decent snap, just when you order the biggest carvery possible select two meats and get a thin slice of each is abit gutting especially when it’s exactly the same size as the £7 kids one you ordered 🤯

Chef didn't tell me that the beef was fatty put a big slob off fat on my plate wasn't happy the soda machine was not good the soda didn't taste right wasn't very happy I usually love coming carvery wasn't very satisfied only good thing was the turkey gammon pork Yorkshire pudding and the dessert and pigs in blankets

roast potatoes were not nice at all , the veg not cooked enough . it's a shame I was looking forward to the dinner, chocolate fudge cake was beautiful

Food beautiful as always, chicken of 5 meats(yes 5) turkey pork lamb beef &gammon. I had gammon & beef with mash,turnip, parsnip, roast potato, cauliflower cheese, stuffing yorkshire pudding & gravy, all cooked perfect. Wasn't totally happy way meat was served cut 2 thin slides(&whenI say thin I mean thin) of turkey but 1 broke up, he put the bit on plate left rest on cutting board also two equally as thin of gammon. Staff was friendly & knowledgeable especially our server Julie

The food was poor and not very nice. I ordered at 5.20pm but it wasnt delivered until 6.40pm & it's 10 minutes away. The meat was fine but the roast potatoes & yorkshire pudding were burnt & tasted awful. The veg was carrots and peas, thats it.

Always love a Toby.. but please bring back the roasted gravy onions. The Mac n cheeses is often dry and the cauliflower cheese too mushy. Mushy peas would be a great option x

My food was stone cold and only got 1 Yorkshire. Don’t pay 25 pound for cold food and a carvery without Yorkshire pudding. Fuming, Want a refund

We love the Toby Carvery Watermill, as it had a great atmosphere and always smells of lovely fresh cooked food. Today our Carver Ulada was friendly, courteous and our carvery was delicious. Our Server Julie was friendly, easy to chat with and having seen her before get service was excellent throughout our lunch. We shall return as the food and service is always first class. Thanks everyone ☺️

Food is a lot better at kings mill farm, customer service, Food and staff are a lot better. The puddings are also a lot better.

Been to many toby’s food here was the best by far

Came for birthday treat but the kids chicken burger was left as pale bits of chicken didn't taste nice. My mother wanted small carvery no option so had roast potatoes smoother these were dry so she left. Lumpy mash left, Brussels like bullets could barley eat, Yorkshire puddings could not cut did bring me a replacement. All of us left some meat lamb really chewy. Have been here before and better would not rush back as expected better for money two little slices of hard meat.

Went midweek and it was busy, but had a table booked. Though we were given the option of eating in the bar area if we wanted. Staff were very polite and helpful. A mixed group of guests, with parties of young and ild. Food was ok but felt their could have been a better selection of veg available. Roast potatoes were mainly broken, this may have been due to people selecting and not wanting. Food was edible and the meat was tender (beef). Plenty of parking available.

Usually go on a Sunday, you can normal book same day. It’s usually full on a Sunday when you get there, but it’s not too bad a wait in the Que to the cavery all things considered. Polite and friendly staff and consistent standard of food. Usually warm in here so wear a t shirt 🤪

Outside area we're tidy but abit neglected the rodent boxes were a plus and minus because of the company taking control of the issues but off putting at the sight and reason behind having those boxes.

Tasted nice and the ammount of potato/veg is good but the tiny amount of meat you get for the price is very poor.

the food we got was excellent, shame that the delivery drivers are thiefs if u have more than 1 bag the delivery 1 and steal the other, i wish i hadn't of left a tip, please stop using these drivers!! This has happened twice to me now and wont again

Quality poor to say it was a carvery was a joke, got a bowl mainly of mash and stuffing. The meat was 2 small pieces on top and it was cold.

Upset to have paid £30 for half piece gammon and the fattiest end bit of beef. A tub full of carrots with half scoop mash and cold Yorkshire pudding. Greasy sides and missing can of pop. Most expensive day for Calvert and the worst I have ever received from yourselves. So disappointed. Money wasted and left hungry. You used to be best carvery around but I think there’s nicer and cheaper out there now. Disappointed customer for sure
