Fabulous pub, amazing quiz, funky vibes!!!!!

Was not happy this evening. I spent £110 and I walked away still hungry. My plate looked like the cook had to make one basket of chips go round all 4 of us, terrible! Not be back anytime soon and we come about once a week and spend that!

Great pub and great quiz ! We love it here and come every Tuesday night… totally recommended to all. Great vibe and spirit from all !!!!!

Ordered two chicken meals with what was supposed to be boneless chicken wings, there was no chicken just over cooked burnt coating, absolute rubbish food... they said they had already had complaints, so dont understand why they continued serving it?.

Lovely food couldn't fault it ,good value for money lots of choice on menu was something for everyone, my friend is gluten free so was pleased with the choices on the gluten free menu

Food not that hot and it took forever to come and clear us for dessert. Over all price for what we got wasn't value for money.

We went to the pub for Sunday lunch, we didn’t have reservations and were shown to a table for two. We normally go for a carvery, but fancied a change. The staff were pleasant and helpful, but then we come to the food. I ordered fish and chips, yes I know not a Sunday lunch meal up you can’t go wrong with fish chips and mushy peas. The wife on the other hand had the Sunday dinner, turkey, mashed potatoes, peas carrots Brussels, Yorkshire pudding and pigs in blankets. Let’s run through all of them. Turkey cut from a roll ( processed) very dry potatoes, peas like bullets, brussels hard, carrots hard and pigs in blankets dry with very little bacon, the only thing she liked was the Yorkshire pudding. I knew looking at it that the turkey was processed as it was covered in gravy, even though very thick gravy came in a separate tiny boat. So beware if treating yourself or family by going out for Sunday lunch. One place to avoid.

I was very disappointed when I went the other day. It's been a while since I went there. Went for sizzling stake for my birthday. But there wasn't any because they were short of onions. They could have gone to shop for some. I won't go again, it was more like a cafe.

Food was tasty and plentiful but was nearly cold. Normally food would be served on a sizzling platter but not this time. I don’t think the plates had been warmed and it was only just edible. This is the first time this has happened. We eat here quite regularly. I will return as hoping this was a one-off. The staff were very dismissive when we complained.

Food was not over priced, I had a mixed grill which was lovely, tender, very tasty but let down because it was cold, as were everyone’s on our table. The usual Green King beers were on form. The staff were very friendly and warm. Car parking space is ample, we visited on a busy Saturday evening but there were still lots of available spaces. The atmosphere I found was very nice, many pubs are starting to empty quickly by 9.30pm , but this one seemed to be still thriving at 10.45 when we left. Very easy to book a table online. Now the Bad point ….the gents toilets are not good at all. The smell was like a cattle market and the whole toilet room is getting ready for a serious revamp. I always think……if the toilets are not cleaned, then what state is the kitchen in. Sort the cold food and the toilets and you’ve got me returning for sure

On arrival the venue was pleasant and staff were welcoming. We popped in for a casual drink but due to the atmosphere and staff, plus an offer for buy one get one free we remained for a little longer. Always enjoy visiting. Brilliant family pub. Free pool on. Wednesday

The Fox and Crown is a large busy pub off a major road junction in Sutton. It is an ideal place to meet up and has plenty of parking. It offers a wide range of pub chain food, that is OK and at a reasonable price and the service was very good.

Just thought I'd let you know,I booked for a party of 5people ,for the Christmas meal, unfortunately we were disappointed as the food was cold,also where we sat there was a draught from an outside door being open,as it was being painted,we did ask if the door could be closed,to our dismayed were told no,now one of my friends has come down with a bad chest and cold,we thought that we would book there as I seemed to believe that the food had improved, unfortunately it wasn't

Great staff, Ashley and a lovely lady too. I had made an advance booking menu error for one of our party which was quickly rectified. There was some work at the rear door going on which caused a bit of noise and a draft but otherwise a good Christmas meal and a fish and chips for 7 of us.

Booked on line , arrived on time , shown to our table , drinks ordered at the bar , friendly staff , ordered food at the bar again friendly staff , meals delivered all at the same time (apart from our little boys ) wife asked at the bar and was told being plated up now , so apart from a little hiccup not bad, would have been a 5 star

Father and son visit for food, football and pool. It’s always a great atmosphere in the pub we now like to call our local. Friendly staff, great manager

A fast paced pub restaurant that offers good food at reasonable price with good service. It's a pub so don't expect a quiet atmosphere especially if footballs on.

Drinks after work- lots of choice of beverages, plenty of room and a good atmosphere. Food smelled delish, good service and plenty of parking.

Called in on way back from shopping. Never been before but was a lovely pub. Just putting Dec's up for Halloween. Staff were friendly, service was good and food was lovely wasn't too many in but was still early for a Saturday.

My daughter in law and myself hasflat bread, it was disgusting no dressing or salad, sent them back only to have a tiny portion of tomato sprinkled on them, my husband's scampi was no bigger than a starter, we spent just under £100 last night and it wasn't worth it, we've spent hundreds of pounds over the years, recommend to everyone how good it is, I shall not be doing it again.

Really nice place Fox and Crown, Me and my daughter popped in for a quick drink in the summer and it was a cosy Atmosphere.

Came here for tea tonight, staff are pleasant enough and coped with the amount of customers, which is a huge improvement to my last visit. Sadly the food was naff, my boneless chicken was dry as anything. Partner ordered a mix grill, came with no onion rings, steak was ordered rare and was probably closer to well done, meaning he didn’t actually eat it. No check back done and when we did find a waitress and tell her all she did was apologise and didn’t do anything to rectify it. I work in hospitality so I know that this is bad service! Large venue with plenty of seating inside and out. We opted for the burgers, which didn't disappoint. Great quality burger cooked to perfection. It's definitely worth a visit.

Food was amazing like always, atmosphere was astonishing, and the service was amazing too. 100% recommend coming here for quality time!

We popped in to the fox on Friday for lunch and was greeted by the friendly waiting staff. The menu is varied to satisfy even the pickiest of appetites, we were also recommended side dishes to go with our meals when ordering at the bar. Food was served promptly and enjoyed by all.

Place has gone downhill it seemed grubby and dirty

Nearly everything we tried to order they didn't have. We had a 3 Yr old with us who we ordered of the kids menu for her. They brought our starter but not hers by the time they made her starter, the tricky business of a couple of carrot and cucumber sticks 🙄we had finished our starters.

I came in with my family for food. We were greeted very nicely and the food was on time and very fresh! I come here often and it is my favourite place to come, both with my family and mates.

Food looked nothing like picture on menu... Steer clear of the flatbreads. When I asked the server if that was I'm fact what I ordered they simply said yes. Not bothered at all!! No-one asked if we needed anything else and never came back to check everything was OK. They never even cleared the table

Dropped in for an early dinner on Friday food was lovely and didn't have to wait long before our food arrived. A lovely, friendly pub very spacious with plenty of natural light. Staff were very patient and understanding as I struggle with communication. Highly recommended will definitely be returning in the near future.

I have not been to the Fox & Crown for a fair few years now but decided to nip in today for lunch. The food was great, and the service was fab. I had the XL mixes grill, and it came out sizzlung on a hotplate, and all the meat was cooked to perfection. Sides were chips, onion rings, and peas. My wife had the chicken combo meal and opted for the grilled chicken skewer, southern fried skewer with tata tots, colslaw, and chilli dip. This was all washed down with a couple of Peroni's. Decor is a little tired and could probably do with a bit of a refresh but still clean. Will be back soon .

Great pub smashing meals and menus will Defoe go there again . Fab prices too. Empty plate tells it all .

The fox and crown is a great pub and the atmosphere is always good however , I went with my son and we both had steak and to be honest it was dreadful. The steaks didn't taste of anything, I think it was a cheap meat and the brownies I had for afters we're freezing like they just come out of the fridge. If you're going for a drink then this is a pub to go to put the food is not up to scratch.

A pleasant pub. What you see is what you get. Only complaint is a couple of the bar staff can be a tad slack. Aside from that, food was spot on, food was hot and reasonable.

Took my daughter & son in law here on Saturday night to celebrate their wedding anniversary, my son in law & I ordered the sirloin steak & it was awful the steak was very tough to cut & very chewy, I was so disappointed because up until then we had always enjoyed the steaks there, don't know if they've changed their meat suppliers or what but it was bad, everything else was lovely, so disappointed !!!!!

4 adults we have spent well over £200 tonight! Starting with positive point, very fast serving! Very disappointed we were unable to order any deserts at 21.30. we have been told by the staff that the kitchen closes at 21.00 on a Saturday night?!? Very, very odd.... I am shocked... we were not even able to finish our meals and drinks by 21.00... when i expressed my disappointment, the staff just shrugged their shoulders like they didn't care, like is not their problem... Staff looked tired and had no engagement with the guests Food quality overall is on a decline Definitely going to spend money at a different place next Saturday

Fairly empty when we were there but didn't mind that. Staff very friendly. Because we had a dog with us we had to sit in the bar area. Fair enough we thought, but this turned out to be a couple of picnic- style tables near the pool table. The covers on the benches at the tables were quite tatty and could do with re- covering. However, we really enjoyed the food and would go back again for that reason alone.

This has been the place that myself and my family have been to for lunch and dinner numerous of times over a few years now. However, we have found it very disappointing today when we went out for food. The food quality has got worse and the prices have risen, to say the least the food that we had ordered wasn’t worth the money. Ordered side of onion rings which was bland and compared to previous times ordered they tasted frozen and not delicious at all. The portions size have also been reduced which don’t match the price or description did not fill us up unfortunately. We also ordered a new item which was the rib rack and that was an utter disappointment definitely not worth £17, the ribs were just bones with little meat on it and the presentation wasn’t great either, chips were undercooked overall we was left disappointed with our dining experience. The staff were however lovely and provided great service. But unfortunately being a diner here for past few years the menu has gone downhill and so has the food and its quality. Hoping for improvement in the future but for meantime left unsatisfied and not eager to return in the future.

Firstly I'd like to say the bar staff were lovely . On to the food , the wings in a mess tin ..just scrappy looking tbh..and also a side plate would have been nice , not something that should need requesting . The mixed grill my partner ordered medium rare ..was well done , not a bit of pink to be seen . The onion rings were below par too . My millionaire burger was tasty but the way the food is presented leaves a lot to be desired. There was all I can describe as the runt remains of the edge of a raw red onion on the side of my plate . Not actually sure why it was there. As for the messy tables , that statement speaks for itself . Not cleared off from previous diners even after our starters were delivered . Not the worst food by any means but a rating includes the surroundings and service too which were below average.

Went in for lunch today. First impression- cutlery wasn’t clean. Had to clean them before we used them. I ordered the fancy looking pie on the menu. My partner ordered eight chicken wings and chose the sweet chilli sauce to go with them. I’ll start with the Steak and Ale Pie. Whilst it was a large pie and the portion size was very good, I actually struggled to find any meat that wasn’t also accompanied by gristle. Chicken wings were delivered in what I can only describe as an Aluminium Tin, that somehow had managed to avoid being melted down during WW2 to make Spitfires. The wings were soggy and soaked in the Sweet Chilli Sauce, which made the nigh on impossible to eat. The sauce should have been served on the side. Quiet honestly it looked a mess. The lady waiting was lovely and very polite, however, there seemed to be plenty of other staff members just dossing around which could have been cleaning cutlery. Not memorable at all.

Fantastic pub. Excellent facilities. Free parking and free WiFi. Food is delicious and always hot. Drinks are top quality. Staff are friendly.
