Steak was terrible couldn’t even cut thru it was just fat. I had chicken strips instead girl was helpful that served she could see it was just fat

Absolutely awful had chicken share platter all of it was cold .tje chiken so hard was like rocks and inedible.the chef must have know it was well over cooked but served anyway .by reading a lot of reviews on here they have no standards and just send anything out .definitely won’t go againn

i just have to say that my visit the other day was beyond perfect the young lady who seated and served me was wonderful!!! i asked her for her name i believe it was hetty she was amazing her customer service skill were brill, best believe i will be coming back just for that young ladys service and the food which was delightful , 5 stars all around!

Had a cheeseburger which was good. My dog had a dog sausage which he inhaled so must have been good as well. Gave 1 star for the atmosphere because they put people with dogs in a small area with a pool table in the middle which is not ideal.

Went there on Friday had one of their special burgers was fine , went for Sunday lunch and the food was disgusting, my partner had beef which was probably from day before potatoes over cooked and veg cold. I had mixed grill which was the worst I’ve had won’t be in a hurry to go there again

Been out to the fox and Crown twice with work a group of 8 the first time and 7 of us the second, both occasions the food has been fantastic. We take some time to sort out bills as each pay individually and it was no trouble to the staff at all, they are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The meals are really good value and great pub grub!! Everything is totally accessible with car park access straight into the pub on the same level and a descrete disabled access toilet . Overall a lovely trip out and will be taking the family out in the near future.

Always a cracking atmosphere when attending the Fox and Crown with extremely friendly and helpful staff! The food is also great! Couldn’t recommend a better place to visit :)

Great service & Great food for value

Had a pleasant Sunday afternoon in the fox easy to get served. Abbotts on draught. All ways a bonus. Friendly helpful staff. Good atmosphere. Had a light snack. reasonably priced Will be back again next Sunday.

We go to the quiz night on a Tuesday,always good service and tasty food,would recommend booking a table as it gets busy.

10 customers in the pub at this time of the day. We have been waiting 1 hour and 7 minutes for a simple nachos meal which takes 15 mins to prepare. Poor service.

Only called for a pint, not too busy at the time we called, 5ish. Looked at the menu and looks good for meat eaters, need more V options, its not hard to do. Service for drinks where ok.

Steak was near enough inedible. Plates left on our table, nobody came to take them away for an hrs afterwards. Nobody came to see if we had any issues. Will not be coming again. AVOID

Visited last night and the service was incredibly slow. The food is not even worth a rating in my opinion. I had the signature burger and the burger was greesy tasting and asthough it was cooked hours ago but kept warm, wayyy too much mayo on the bun to the point it was soggy. The chips were hard and over cooked and cold. Out of the 4 of us eating there was only one of us that even enjoyed the food. I will not be eating here again and it is a shame as we have been coming here for years and live local. The only credit to this is pub is the bar staff on last night were friendly enough.

Disgusting expensive inedible food. Not fit for dogs. Just paid 18 pounds for a beef flat bread and chicken wings. Total rip-off! The wings were simply vile,undercooked and swimming in stale old cooking oil. The flat bread had 5 slices of steak on the plate, the bread was hard and stale on the edge and plastered with oil in the middle. Both meals were not consumed and I have been relieved of nearly 20 hard earned pounds for the pleasure. I won't be going back....not even for a drink!

We had a large party for a 40th birthday. Nothing was too much trouble. Food, staff and service first class 👌

Food cooked to perfection, the order wasn't a small one but everything came out correct and hot and all together was a very relaxed atmosphere, 100% recommended 100% will be back.

Waited over 1 hour for food .... it came and it was cold the burger was cold and the chips ... the chicken dinner was all cold ... the drinks we had went before the food .. and the price for the food I wouldn't even pay it their was no knife or forks on table and table was dirty and wasn't clean the staff are rude and ignored us

Experienced waitress... me and my partner when to fox ans grown in Mansfield waited over 1 hour for food .... had a drink each and finished them before the food even came out and the staff are rude and not very organised either ... we had no knife or forks on table and the table was messy but yet you get told not to sit at dirty tables ... what about serving cold food to customers . Personally don't recommend going back

Starter took a long time to arrive and when it did is wasn't all there. We complained and were given the missing items after a further wait. We waited over and hour for the mains, some food was burnt and the quality was fairly poor. Lots of young lads in there swearing so not very family friendly. I wouldn't recommend

It is with a heavy heart I write this review as its been myself and my husbands go to pub for the past 20 plus years and always been a wonderful experience. Yesterday 06/01 Saturday was a different experience entirely. We got seated at our table and went to order our drinks and was served by a lovely young man at the bar, after a few minutes of scouring the menu we had decided on what to have for lunch and proceeded to the bar to order met by the same young chap who had taken our drinks order moments before and another gentleman who was presumably the chef as was wearing different attire. 30 minutes had passed and our food still hadn't arrived, it wasn't really busy for a Saturday lunch and we usually get our meal within 20 minutes which is great but we understand that sometimes hold ups occur that are out of the chefs control which is absolutely fine, then my husband pointed out that the gentleman we assumed was the chef was still standing at the bar but we waited as don't like to complain as we could see the bar man was busy, after another 10 minutes the gentleman dissappear through a door to the kitchen and a further 10 minutes passed And eventually our lunch was served. I had the lasagne and was lukewarm at best and my husband had a chicken mix which had a mixture of hot and cold chicken so after 50 minutes of waiting we were served food that was more or less inedible. If there was a problem we would of preferred someone to notify us if there was going to be a long wait or the chef mentioning it when I ordered as he was stood at the bar for so long and then served us cold food after a rushed 10 minutes. We won't be returning again anytime soon.

It was OK untill I saw inside the kitchen area after returning from the toilet after having a Xmas meal the kitchen door was open ime a chef and thers no way my kitchen would be so disgusting filth on the floor greasy pipework arround the sinks it needs a deep clean so will not be returning I blame the management as time is not paid for for this process to be carried out its all about making money and not the health of the customer

Brilliant bar and serving staff; very kind, friendly and professional. However the food mainly the chicken share platter was a complete disgrace. For £15.99 we received cold chicken, cold beans and over cooked chicken nuggets, after sending it back the chicken nuggets were still burnt, somehow they managed to serve us ice cold corn on the cob and dry chicken wings. Whichever chef cooked the chicken wouldn't get job at McDonald's.Thankfully, the manager gave us a refund and was very apologetic and understanding.

This is usually our go to place with family and friends but after our latest visit the food was terrible? I dont know whats happening with the food quality but it has gone down hill the last couple of times we have been. The XL mix grill had stone cold chicken.the steak was undercooked and very fatty.the egg was like rubber.and the chicken wings burnt.i did get a refund for the mix grill but i would rather have had a nice meal which i was hoping for.i left 90% of the meal.the last few times we have been the place was not busy so the food should at least been good.we wont be returning for food as what use to be fantastic food is now below average

Very disappointed. Visited here for our Works Christmas Meal. On arrival, we sat for ages and eventually had to ask someone to come over to order drinks. The atmosphere wasn't great, football was playing on loads of televisions throughout the Pub. I asked if some could be switched off and if some Christmas Music could be played. This was refused as its a "Sports Pub". If somewhere is providing a Christmas Menu and taking group bookings, surely it's appropriate to use sections of the Pub just for Christmas Bookings and then have football playing in other sections. It wasn't festive at all. The Starter was okay, although it did take a while to arrive. We then waited a while for the main. Two Vegetarian Options were served and then the Meat Christmas Dinners. Three of us were served Beef when it was supposed to be Turkey with all the trimmings. We asked why we had been served Beef and was informed they didn't have any Turkey. We were then given a choice of Chicken or Beef and the meals were taken a away. We then waited a while to have a replacement which left our group of five not eating together. When the replacements arrived, half a Chicken on the bone had been dumped on the plate. This should have been sliced or just a breast. It was awful. The sausages had no bacon around them, I'm assuming these were supposed to be pigs in blankets, the parsnips were rock solid and there was no cranberry sauce. Then under the Chicken, was a slice of Beef from before. They didn't even remake the meal. We were given free drinks and a discount off the bill but this doesn't make up for everything experienced. There's alot that needs improving. We won't be returning.

Allowed dog in sports bar. Food was average and service quite slow.

Booked a table for 9 this evening for a birthday meal, waited over 40 minutes for food. Could see the order board and it looked as if the kitchen was understaffed this evening, even though several parties were in. Saw one lady turned away who had pre-book her christmas meal due to a system error! When we finally got our food, the salad looked past its best and was coveted in oil so we returned it twice, sirloin was ok but gristley, the christmas burger was ok but fries were cold and gravy was overly salty. However the young lass behind the bar was amazing ... she managed big queues and really could have done with some support and the dining room staff were friendly and apologetic. They all deserve better ... this used to be a really nice venue. Really hope it was just a blip.

Well went for a meal with work friends 10 of us so glad I ordered the stake even though the peas was cold cos the Christmas dinners was nearly freezing we had all waited all day for this meal, starters was good but pudding tasted burnt, I guess getting £26 and a full round of drinks made it a little less wounding after paying over a £180 with of meals

I went here the other evening just for a couple of drinks and bit on snap. Lovely atmosphere and great service, Ben who I can only assume was the manage was so lovely and chatty. 100% will be visiting again.

My wife and I (over 70's) like to eat out at least once a fortnight in different locations. We had a £10,00 voucher for Greene King so decided on this location where we have been several times before, where the service has always been good. Last night (30th Nov) were two staff members who we'd not seen before. They were exceptional, so friendly I felt like a regular customer. very welcoming. Hardly any wait for the food which was very nice and tasty too. Thank you.

Had a wrong round of shots, So the manager brought us a round of the correct shots, He was lovely and ever so kind

Took an age to get through a crowded bar to place an order. Food was only just warm when it arrived. The noise was horrendous, it was more like a night club. Couldn't hold a conversation while at the table. Ended up leaving most of the food as we couldn't wait to leave.

Booked in for the festive menu. Food amazing, and service just as good. Would highly recommend!

Definitely been a change over with staff and chefs recently, can see a massive change. Very glad we gave it another chance, very impressed and will be returning.

Good visit, food pretty good bit better than some local rivals. Service was not to bad, would and will go again. Visited Sunday 16.00 not best time for roast as really end of day so was a bit disappointed. But staff were friendly as before with hindsight I should have stuck to main menu which is more for me. Will be back again.

Fantastic food. Friendly staff good atmosphere clean and tidy bar area very easy to order and the chef agreed to change a few items which we didn’t like.

The chicken burger with cheesy chips is a firm favourite of mine, but regardless of the order the service is always amazing! Really good selection of small bites as well, which are perfect for kids too. We definitely recommend coming here for some great food 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Amazing! Came for the quiz Tuesday night. Fun quiz lovely staff and food! Steak was seasoned perfectly and the young girl who brought our food out was a right laugh! Will return for the quiz and another nice meal out!

Visited with family, there was 10 of us on Monday the 10th October. Was a last minute choice of where to eat but the lady and gent who was working were quick to find us a table to accommodate us. They were friendly and welcoming and the service was fast and efficient. We had a really nice time and really enjoyed our trip. Will definitely return. Thank you.

We come in tonight 10/10/2023 for my freinds 21st meal there was 6 of us and the service was awful !!! We got told food would be 40 minute wait when ordering which is fair enough … 2 hours later ! still not come so we asked about it to be told it was under the heaters and about to come out , 20 mins later still not come so we said is it still sat under the heater for tgem to say they would get it … they only bought 2 of the meals and they was only just warm . We then waited to see if rest was coming another 20 mins later rest had not come to then ask again where they was to be told not even started them and said if we still wanted it would be a while wait.. so then after us mentioning complimentary drinks they said we could have 1 drink each to be given blood orange gin and lemonade with the gas gone in lemonade and tasted vile and a pint with a dirty glass more than disappointed we won’t be returning … to top it off another atleast 3 tables had spoken to us on way out and said the same !

Went today for a drink and some dinner. Food arrives and you are sat waiting for the cutlery/sauces box to be brought out. Five minutes later, as the food is cooling down to a temperature that makes it barely edible I have to go and ask for cutlery for a meal. This is so basic. No wonder people are going elsewhere. Just get the basics right. It's really not difficult. If you have ordered a meal, there is a good chance that you will need cutlery. You really shouldn't have to go and ask for it. Especially when the prices are crazily high as well. I love the Fox as its on the doorstep but things like this just ruin it. It wasn't even busy (as pointed out above) so there is no excuse. It's not the first time this has happened either. My advice is if you are travelling to go here don't bother. There will be somewhere closer that is better.

On arriving at the pub the staff were welcoming and friendly, a true locals pub with great offerings. The lunchtime menu was full of options and specials (including light bites). Just the ticket for a light lunch stop off with sports. Brilliant location with a sports side (old school tap side) and a more family oriented lounge bar both providing TV for sport. Staff were more than happy to change the channel to suit requirements. A well run friendly pub. What more could you ask for.

Plenty of parking, nice garden area and lots of tables inside. Really good menu and staff were knowledgeable and friendly. We all really enjoyed our food and it was great value for money. The Fox and Crown has a great relaxed atmosphere, we had a fabulous evening.

I was very disappointed, the eating area was relatively dead yet we were still sat waiting ages for our food and then for the plates to be taken away. My daughter's burger bun was rock hard and not edible.

Very disappointed tonight. I used to have the 'who dares wings' (40 wings for £8.99?), but they don't do that anymore, so I got the 'wings for 2' for £8.69 and got 9 wings (doesn't even divide evenly between 2 people and is nearly 4 times more expensive (. Also there was a quiz on tonight, but if you're going to ask a question about the Magic Roundabout, please make sure you know how to pronounce 'Dougal', or if you're going to ask 'Who hosted Art Attack' make sure you know how to pronounce Neil Buchanan..

Extremely quiet considering it was a bank holiday, so cannot understand why the food took a good 15 minutes to arrive and was particularly poor. Nachos were disgusting, cold (straight from the fridge). No attempt to melt the cheese, seasoned to the point of being practically inedible, and the Pico de Gallo was MIA. Cheeseburger arrived tepid at best, as were the fries. Unsurprisingly, on this occasion, nobody bothered to ask how the food was! Will not be returning any time soon.

Stopped off for something quick to eat on the way back to notingham only 1 bar staff on serving and taking orders so a little slow food came out in around 10 mins so not too bad but the tacos ordered 1 was full and the other nearly empty , burnt chips , cold peas on my gammon pretty poor in my opinion probably won't be in the area again but won't going here again

I've only been to this place x2. First time the main course was great so we ordered dessert. We were left watching other tables who came in after us get their food and go in the time waiting for our dessert. Went up to complain and said we would get a refund (never got it) and they brought out our desserts. Only to not bring enough spoons and forget the chocolate on the sunday and brinf it out separately. Got one of the desserts completely wrong. Just been again to give them another chance. Ordered sirlon steak medium well. It came out more than well done, it was cremated. More fat on the steak than steak. Disgusting and a complete waste of money. The peas were like mini bullets they were so hard. They won't be getting a 3rd chance from us and shame really because I read good reviews.

Gone completely downhill, menu is pitiful. Meals are bland. Steaks were overcooked and flavourless, peas barely cooked, chips tasted like cheap oven chips, im sure the onions were frozen ones too. Toddlers meal, peas undercooked, mashed potatoes cooked to death! Completely inedible. Gravy thicker than tar and full of lumps. We used to come here all the time and the food and atmosphere was great! So disappointed with here now, we won't be coming back. Only saving grace was that the deserts were lovely. I've had better steaks at weatherspoons!

Absolutely abysmal service. Never confirmed a booking. Tried calling 31 times and gave up. What is the point in having a phone. Confirmation of bookings online. Never arrived. We all went elsewhere and had a lovely time.

Popped in for a quick drink, didn't wait long to be served. Nice pub. Didn't have food just a drink.

We went to the Fox and Crown for a mother,daughter lunch. First we ordered a large coke and cup of tea from a young man behind the bar. Was told he could pour the coke but I would have to wait for the cup of tea as he didn't know how to make one. REALLY, truly I was shocked, I had to wait for another member of staff to make my tea, which was made and left on the end of the bar, and they just walked away, leaving me stood at the other end. The menu is basic at best, but we ordered some chicken chunks and goujons. They really were dry and un appealing. I went to bar for a drink and stood waiting. The young man, again, was serving another gentleman. So me and another man stood there waiting, the young man started wondering around and not doing anything, I thought there might be a problem with his till, again we waited over 10 minutes went by so I asked the young man what the problem was. He informed me that the man had got a discount code and that he didn't know how to do it. So in his head he was waiting for the other staff member to finish off on his till in order to help him with the discount code. It NEVER occurred to him to carry on serving while waiting for the other staff member to become free. Honestly you couldn't write it, after suggesting to him that he could carry on serving while waiting he got defensive and made a comment about him " doing other jobs" like he was busy, but he really wasn't. I suggest that you do not go here until its had a complete overhaul and staff are trained properly, including how to put a t-bag in a cup.

Booked a table for 6. Then only 5 could go then 3. So ordered food then 2 could get to the meal on time so asked to delay while others got there so they ordered. They got their meal before ours we was waiting 20-25 minutes for ours by that time they’d ran out of items we’d already paid for then food we got was wrong. Then offered free round of drinks so it turned out well in the end!!

Terrible food, drinks overpriced. gone down hill.

Last ate here 3 years ago and it was awful and sorry to say it just hasn’t improved. There was six of us eating and we all agreed that the food was dreadful, meals were dry and overcooked . We all left most of it. We tried to complain to the waitress but she just walked away so we will not return for round three.

It seemed like I was in Punjab.
