This is a great family pub. Absolutely lovely food and they are great at dealing with allergies. The traditional Sunday lunches are super tasty and there’s an extensive choice in the week.

Pleasant staff and the food was lovely I had Brie wedges for starter and the sticky beef as a main and caramel cheesecake as dessert can recommend

Visited the Duke tonight for food after a walk in the cold, was busy and felt welcome. Good selection of drinks and food. Had to wait a bit for food but it was well worth it, beautifully home cooked. We had Sticky Beef and Thai red beef curry, lovely side salad and well seasoned and flavoured rice. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend 🤩

I absolutely love this place. Perfect if you want to take your dog for a walk and nice quiet pint. Perfect if you and your friends and family want a nice drink and banter. Recommend booking and checking out the restaurant. Food is of top quality, and all 6 meals we had were cooked to perfection. Lastly, a big shout out to all the staff they are fantastic, friendly, and extremely helpful.

We just fancied a spontaneous lunch, quite a few people had recommended the Duke so we nipped in. The staff were lovely and very accommodating. The food soon came and we were stunned with the presentation. My wife had the lamb chops and I had the braised peppered beef with all the trimmings from the specials menu, both were superb. We weren’t going to have a sweet as we were stuffed, but we cracked and had the strawberry cream slice between us, gorgeous and plenty for two. Excellent meal, would recommend to anyone, we will be coming again, thank you.

Lovely experience. Enjoyed a light hearted delicious lunch with my mum here, and it's such a good quiet atmosphere. Staff are friendly, fast and all have a good, honest sense of nature. Will definitely be visiting here again.

The best food we've had anywhere. The food, service and atmosphere here at The Duke of Wellington keeps us coming back time after time. The staff are amazing helpful and Millie and Michelle make you feel welcome as soon as you enter. Would highly recommend as no matter who is serving, Hannah makes sure her staff always greet with a smile and warm welcome.

One of the best pub menu I have seen. I eat fish not meat due to health issues. At least 5 items to choose from, amazing for me. The cajun salmon with prawn stew, was to die for, the mussels to start were define and garlic bread! Finished with apple crumble to share... Can't move, but washed down with a lovely Melbec. Bar Staff great and attentive, kitchen staff wonderful and a chef that would be Michelin star in any establishment. Never writen a review as this, sooo impressed.

Just had the most fabulous meal at the Duke of Wellington, way beyond my expectations & absolutely delicious! Best meal I've had in ages. The staff are so friendly & took the time to speak to my toddler son who was very happy with his ice cream. Would highly recommend.

I recommend this place, we had the best meal ever all freashly cooked, We had the Thai salmon and Hoison beef, photos don't do it justice it was enormous and so delicious. Definitely going back soon, service was fab, restaurant area all immaculately clean and well decorated

Fantastic meal for my birthday with family. Fresh and delicious food. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Live locally and have only had a quick drink on a sunny day outside. The new chef was recommended by my next door neighbour for my birthday so we decided to drop by. We will definitely return for a Sunday dinner after talking to some regulars and will work our way through the midweek meals as and when we can. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We popped here after a recommendation and we’re so glad we did … thurs afternoon so not busy ( it should be let me tell you ) and we sat in the bar area as we had our dog with us … lovely friendly bar staff served well kept Guinness and G & T … we ordered off the main menu ( there is always a specials menu too ) which is a really well varied menu featuring lots of delicious dishes you dont find in many places … we had sticky duck which was delicious and tuna steak which was a taste sensation with the eggs fine beans red onion black olives and sun blush tomato… it was one of the most tasty clean well presented meals we have had … can’t wait to revisit .. the lovely lady who works alongside her hubby who is the chef since October was so friend came to check how we were enjoying our food - such a lovely personal touch Definitely our new favourite place and can’t wait to try some other dishes Try it you will be amazed

We regularly visit for Sunday lunch but this week we went on Saturday for a meal! I had the chicken trio from the specials board and it was amazing! My partner had steak and said it was well seasoned how he likes it and was one of the best steaks he has ever had and cooked to perfection! The cost of the meal was very reasonable and we have paid more for much worse food ! The staff are amazing at customer service and very friendly! I am not easy to please as I am a trained cook and cannot believe the quality of this food! You really do need to pay a visit so you can see for yourself! Well done the team !

Tapas evening food was absolutely delicious, great value for money and very imaginative menu, we hope to have many more nights like this.

Popped in on the off chance after a day out. Our dog was welcome in the tap room too. The food was amazing. I had the Summer salmon and it was great. Old man had the Tuna salad and he was pleased with his choice. Friendly staff & friendly locals. Our first visit in years (pre pandemic) Used to come along to the folk nights. Next local meal out will be here. Nicely cooked, uncomplicated food at a great price & you get plenty. Thank you 👍

Recently visited the pub numerous times after hearing good things about it. Meals are superb, fresh, with lots of choice on the menu. All of the food seems to be homemade which is a added bonus. We Had Beef Sunday Dinners a Lamb one and kids chicken chunks and chips..I was very dubious upon arrival because no menus with selection of foods or even knowing what your paying for each item however the food was all home made and lovely and out of 5 plates of food everyone enjoyed it all and the portion size was perfect..My only quarm was the two ladies behind the bar and only 1 doing everything because she wasn't old enough to do anything which was frustrating..

Went there today for lunch (not been in over 10 years). Serves excellent, meal delicious( I had the English omelet )and I thought reasonably priced. The pub was also clean and quiet, no loud irritating music. I will definitely be going there again

Came for dinner in the evening with family as we had been recommended because of new chef, think he/she must have been off the day we came! 2 of us had the rice pasta and salmon which was delicious but the other 2 had steak which was overdone and tough. To be fair they did replace it but the 2nd one was still overcooked! Poor girl behind the bar was on her own trying to do everything, no tables laid up for dinner, sadly very disappointing

Food was amazing, lots of melt in the mouth beef, huge Yorkshire,roasties AND mash, and stuffing, with a selection of veg separately served. Came here for Mother’s Day and what a lovely day it was. Food exceptional and great value for money staff absolutely amazing couldn’t do enough for us. The pub has a very friendly atmosphere and is spotless lots of seating and great parking will deffo be returning. Highly recommend you won’t be disappointed.

They catered for a party of 17 people on a busy Friday night. Food wasn't cooked until everyone arrived which made it super fresh and hot! Very good portion sizes for the price, the menu is varied so there's something for everyone. The staff were amazing! Will definitely return!

Had a fantastic meal last night for valentines 💌 the whole night was perfect the room was really romantic , the staff were brilliant and the meal was absolutely delicious , have been for food before and is always lovely , they really went the extra mile last night to make everyone’s valentines night extra special 💌 welcomed with glasses of Prosecco and given a little love sweet box on way home ( very cute ) 🥰. Will definitely recommend celebrating any special day/night with the Duke in future xx

Having eaten here before I was confident about the food, service and welcome, and I was not disappointed. This occcasion was a celebration with more than 20 people joining at various times. Tables were booked individually and staff switched the seating to mean we could eat while in close proximity, chatting between tables. Coming from as far away as Chesterfield, everyone raved about revisiting. I have highly recommend people here before and stand by that recommendation.

13 Friends & Myself From the Aphasia Mansfield Group went to the Duke of Wellington, on Tuesday 6th February, the staff were really friendly & nothing was too much trouble. They went above & beyond to satisfy everyone. Absolutely lovely people !! I would definitely recommend trying this lovely place, Great atmosphere, great food, great customer service. We came in as friends / family … 3 children and 3 adults on sunday (4th feb) and wow o wow were we impressed!!!!!! first of all the staff were just lovely!!!!!!!!!! All the adults had a roast which was so tasty and the amount of meat you got was amazing and very generous!!!!!! And the children LOVED their meals …. and my food loving son said it was the best burger he’d ever had !!!! We cant wait to come back ! Thank you !!

Well went for food at The Duke of Wellington! All I can say is omfg! I cnt explain how fantastic the service and food was! The staff were brilliant and the chef is next level! Us lot have eaten in some of the best restaurants in the country! And this was up there, will deffo be going again!

Worth a try, both the chicken and vegetarian Thai curries were lovely! And the puddings!

Since the new menu was launched in October along with a new Chef, the quality of the food has gone from rustic & good to classy & awesome. The standard of food is reflected in the price but this is still below more established quality...

Old school local pub. The menu was a refreshing change with lots of original dishes and only a few old favourites.Really enjoyed our homecooked dinner! Lots of seating for a meal with a small separate bar in the front if you just wanted a drink and company while watching the match in telly there.
