We had a lovely dinner here, thank you. The food was delicious and the sample menu was of exceptional value. My only critique was that the chicken was a tad too salty, but really it was a lovely evening. Thank you.

Food was excellent as was the wine but our waiters, Adam and Erin, made the evening special.

Food was fantastic. Service great. Lovely ambiance. Perfect for the Liverpool Philharmonic. Great wine list. Prices reflect the quality of the food.

Another great meal at The London Carriage Works, prior to a concert at the Philharmonic. I dined from the Prix Fixe menu as usual. The sea bream starter was delicious. Then chicken, which might be thought boring, but is always something special here. Then the chocolate mouse and cherry dessert was very luxurious. Excellent professional and friendly service as always. I'm looking forward to going back.

The London Carriage Works lunchtime menu had excellent dishes for both vegan/vegetarian and carnivorous. The food was delicious and the service of the highest standard and our server, Erin, was: warm, friendly and informative. I would recommend a visit to this venue as it has a claming atmosphere and excellent staff who are attentive and welcoming.

Great value Prix Fixe. Went on a Monday night prior to a visit to the Music Room at the Phil. Good vale at £35 per person including a bottle of wine. Staff are very professional and well trained. Monday night but was very busy. Food well presented and very tasty.

Popped in for drinks. Our waiter max was so fab and accommodating. He knew exactly what drinks to recommend based on what we said we enjoyed!!

This is my first time dining at The London Carriage Works. Firstly the service! I suppose I could sum it up in one word...excellent. Adam was an absolute star. His manner, knowledge and style of service delivery is on point. His delivery of 'waiting on' is brilliant and he should be commended for what he does, an absolute asset to the restaurant. The rest of the team are amazing also and should be commended. The food and wine was beautiful, so thanks to the chef/s and again staff for their recommendations. I can see why you guys have been going for 20+ years. ❤️ OK, so I need to add something to this review. One of the previous reviewers has given a somewhat low score to this location and suggested that if the restaurant invites them back maybe they will be in a better position to address their original review. I can categorically state, this venue is amazing and the food/service is beautiful. Posting poor reviews in the hope of getting a free meal is lower than a snakes belly. We need to support the businesses in the city that provide this level of dining and service! Anyway, rant over🫣. Thankyou Carrigeworks, we'll definitely be back.

Had coffee and cake for a birthday treat. Great service and delicious carrot cake- although it could have done with a bit more flavour ie vanilla or cinnamon or both. Beautiful atmosphere. If you want relaxed atmosphere, this is your place. Love it here. Will definitely be returning.

Had a lovely dinner the Monkfish was excellent. The Fix Priced Menu is also extremely good value.

The Carriage Works is my restaurant of choice, first place I think of when going for a celebration meal or even just for a quiet night out. I am not sure if it is a cleverly orchestrated illusion, but the staff never look rushed they are always happy to help with the menu. There is a relaxing lounge area with an excellent bar if you arrive early for your reservation or if you want to have a drink afterwards. Would certainly recommend for any occasion.

Visited yesterday for a family meal. The food was delicious and we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We ended the night with some beautiful cocktails. We were served by Adam who was just a delightful young man who was friendly and attentive. Adam did a great job and we loved his friendly approach. Give this young man a raise ha ha 😂

We visited for afternoon tea to celebrate a 40th birthday . Two of our party have allergies and were completely reassured by the attention given to this, both in the original booking and the service on the day. The selection of sandwiches and cakes was great and the service was perfect, attentive without hovering. Would definitely go again for a special occasion

We had always wanted to go to the carriage works and decided to go that evening. We had a lovely evening ate well and were well looked after, surroundings were lovely.

We dinner at the restaurant and it was sublime. The staff are fantastic, the food is excellent & the ambiance is friendly & welcoming. Definitely will come back again soon.

Fantastic late lunch, 2 courses for £26:50 ! A lot more when you add a few extras but worth every penny pictures of our mains below, Lamb for me and Salmon for my wife.

Phenomenal food. Flavour, texture and temperature combinations you've never dreamed of put together on a plate of absolute genius. Couldn't tell you how many times I've been now and it NEVER disappoints.

It is absolutely difficult to make this review. The venue is amazing, the members of staff Absolutely brilliant. I had an afternoon light lunch vegetables and chips with trufle and parmesan. The chips were sagui as per the day before, although i was very hungry they were impossible to eat. Then I ordered sticky toffee. The ice cream was like the ones from Mr Wippy absolutely tasteless or cheap. It was very disappointing, but I kindly spoke to the manager and addressed the overnight chips. Obviously, I did not come with the intention to review, but it was so below any standards that I felt strong to give this feedback. I am happy to return under invitation to address my feedback and see if the place does offer better food.

Amazing place to to eat. The food is cooked freshly and you can taste how fresh it is. Cant wait to go back again.

Came here 25th October to celebrate my 60th birthday it was a total surprise and we entered into the warm friendly atmosphere and were greeted by happy, polite staff (Grace and Erin). Can not fault in any way, the food was prepared and served simply but classy and everything tasted amazing, the warm scones where just how my mum used to make them. We finished with a cocktail and chocolates to help celebrate my special day, thank you, we will be back to sample further things you have to offer.

We stayed at the School Lane sister hotel and with such a huge choice of restaurants in Liverpool, we chose this as our 'Fine Dining' night of our 3-night stay. We chose the fixed price menu and the food was 5 🌟 as was the service. Supreme of Chicken was cooked to perfection. Bread was served at no extra cost and the chicken butter was fab! No room for pudding! £120ish including service charge for 2 courses, amouse bouche, bottle of good red wine and a cocktail. Would recommend. Thank-you.

Lovely evening in a lovely atmosphere. The food was delicious. We had the fixed price menu and there was a good choice of dishes. Adam was our waiter and he was exceptional. Very professional & friendly. The only thing that could be improved would be to replace the dead flowers (which were on every table) with fresh ones!

The cartridge works is always a lovely place to visit for lunch, dinner or afternoon tea. Especially if you’ve been to the philharmonic. The staff are all very friendly and very helpful.

An amazing afternoon tea, everything was so light and fresh. We love afternoon teas and have been to the Ritz and the Plaza in NYC, the quality and taste was much better here, seriously good. Staff were lovely and Erin really looked after us. Looking forward to eating there again soon👌

Great cooking to compliment an extensive range of wines by the glass including fine wines kept by the Coravin device. Wait staff discreetly available. Portion control fantastic, just leaving you hungry enough to order a dessert.

We went for a Mother’s Day meal and it was just perfect. We were a large booking and they made us all feel so welcome! The service was outstanding, staff were so attentive. We had the four courses Mother’s Day menu and the food was just exceptional! We really can’t wait to come back again and will definitely be making a Mother’s Day annual trip!

This must be our 4th stay at The Hope St Hotel & we have eaten every night of our stays in the hotel using both the Carriageworks & the bar menu, never been disappointed by either . Love the option of choosing the cheeses that appeal most. The staff are brilliant & always knowledgeable about their product , friendly & helpful whilst still professional. Can't wait for our next stay .

We went for Mother’s Day, from walking in to leaving we had the best service, we where really looked after nothing was to much for them, the food was the I have had in a long time, the roast beef dinner was perfect, thank you for a lovely Mother’s Day x

We were a big part of 19 and had pre ordered our food. At the last minute 2 extra guests joined us which the staff dealt with brilliantly. I cannot fault the staff at all. They were excellent from start to finish. The food was fabulous too. All in all it was a totally 5 star experience.

We tried the A La Carte menu and knew it was going to be good once the miniature bread loaves came out with the chicken and truffle butter. We had the port tenderloin, rabbit and brill in chip shop curry sauce. All were excellent (brill was the best) followed by beef fillet, rack of lamb and guinea fowl which were so tasty. Daisy was our server and she couldn’t do enough. I’ll be coming back here because apart from serving us excellent food and service. I have a smile on my face typing this out thinking how good it was. Highly recommended.

Really Disappointed with Woeful Service and Poor food. Family meal and staff spent too much time fawning over one table and ignored everyone else. Ended up getting up and ordering drinks from the bar for drinks for the table after waiting so long. Good standards have fallen in past 12 months since last family meal

The place has all the right qualities; nice location on hope street by the hotel, good decor, friendly and capable staff. The three different wines we had were good, and the organisation of the meal from start to finish was good. Bread with scented butter was a nice entrance to the journey of food. I didn't have dessert as I wasn't tempted by the offerings, but the passion fruit sorbet I tasted was really nice. Here is the part where I am critical, and I hope constructive. I do not remember any major wow moments with the tastes of the food. I had the celeriac fondant that only skipped on my palate when I bit into the spring onions underneath. Apart from that, I do not remember it. I had the mushroom pie, that is not called a pie, and it underwhelmed. I was expecting moistness in the pie to add a depth to the taste, but it did not. I am no expert in the world of mushrooms but they felt undercooked on my teeth in the way that mushrooms can only do. I have given it very good on the stars front because it was very good, however, in my head I expected this place to be or want to be an excellent. It did not do this. There are a couple of limitations to my review. First, I am a vegetarian and in higher end places we tend not to be on the top of minds when preparing mains. My mum had the lamb and she thought it was top! Second, it was expensive, but not that expensive when considerinng the wine easily chewed a quarter of the bill. Perhaps I expected too much. I would go again, but I would not choose the fixed menu.
