Did not have any food so cannot comment. Ale was good,nice interior and atmosphere. Old guy behind the bar needs to brush up on his people skills. None commutative to the point of ignorance. Think you're in the wrong game mate.

Booked a table for 4 family, took small dog as said dog friendly, we arrived and where told cannot eat there as dogs not allowed, argued as booked due to saying dog allowed but no help at all, very disappointed as family travelled all way from Preston. Finally got a lovely meal with dog in Botanical in Woolton village,.Won't be going to white horse again.

Read all the reviews of how good this place was so we were excited to eat there for Sunday lunch and how disappointed we were the roast potatoes were far to big and barely roasted in general the veg was over cooked the pork was OK but won't be returning we were very disappointed

Beautiful pub in the heart of Woolton Village. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Intimate venue but very cosy and welcoming. Good selection of wines, beers, ciders and spirits.

A lovely soft entrance I'd have to agree on most reviews about this place the Guinness is cold fresh and poured properly and not expensive il give it a 9/10 the girl behind the bar wow smiling greating friendly knows how to carry herself the chap behind the bar good friendly u can tell had a little banter these r the type of place's u want to go to no headbangers and dolls in there good atmosphere different class of clientele the only thing was there was a damp smell but I'm sure it can b fixed Wood I go back 100% yes

Nice place. Slightly on the costlier side when compared to the Coffee House further up the road. When we were there, 12:30 pm, absolutely no atmosphere ! No music on. No TV on. Shame!

An older feeling pub in the village that has down to earth staff members, obviously has lots of horses in the decor. A nice and usually quieter pub from the times I've visited.

Will absolutely NEVER return. I was the only person at the bar, and the server literally had his hands in his pockets looking me up and down and didn't even ask what I wanted. The smell inside was absolutely putrid - like a pet shop. Also, £14 for 2 doubles in a dive like that is just not justified.

Cosy very clean well maintained traditional pub on the edge of Woolton Village. Well worth a visit. Guinness not cheap though.

Nice little chilled out pub, could do with more locals popping in for a pint as its very quiet. Be a shame to see it go under after all the years it's been open.

Went for a quiet drink with my wife and surprised to see no social distancing whatsoever. Manager sat with 4 friends on one table near the entrance. One was a famous footballer.People walking in and not registering and without masks. Very very surprised at such a lax attitude although I do feel everyone getting fed up with a totally inept govt and their guidelines. So if you and your mates fancy a group drink this pub the place to go.

A Woolton staple, often overshadowed by The Elephant across the road. And in some ways that's fine, because people who are in the know, know The White Horse. It's a pub's pub, and it doesn't even have to try. Get acquainted with it, get cozy with it, get drunk in it, and maybe one day you'll get chucked out of it.

Great little pub on the far side of Woolton Village. You know it's a proper pub when they have a stuffed Badger's head on the wall. Great crowd here with a genuine pub feel to it, something that seems harder and harder to come by. Many of the pubs in Woolton feel like bars rather than pubs so The White Horse is a welcome addition to this. I haven't eaten here, but I've been told that they do a good Sunday dinner.

What a shock I drank there quite a lot my daughter asked me what it was like I said lovely place she went there with her husband and phoned me to tell me she felt so uncomfortable by the locals passing comments even when she went the bar she was standing waiting to be served people were coming in and getting served before her in the end she had to leave because she felt so uncomfortable she won't go there again

This is a great pub for a quick stop off or a lengthy chat. Really lovely, warm, traditional atmosphere and a good selection of ale - local brewers Big Bog were in evidence as well as some other good independent real ales. They do really delicious looking Sunday dinners - we didn't get to try one but the place was busy and everyone was tucking in happily! Recommended for people who like proper pubs. There's a great stuffed badger's head laughing down at you too for character.

Met in here just before Christmas with some good friends. Well furnished 'old traditional' pub with some nice little nooks and crannies. Staff VERY friendly and helpful. Small selection of well kept real ale. Cannot fault this pub as a nice drinking venue. Enjoy.

A traditional pub with a good atmosphere and great cask ales. The white horse has always got a great selection of ales on draught - in my opinion the most consistent decent ales in the village. They sell crisps (unlike the elephant pub!!!!)….. The pub has a cosy feel to it and is a nice place to sit back with a pint, the old wooden benches still have the old call bells attached which is a nice bit of history.

a proper English pub that has survived the vile hipster invasion of woolton village. Old, cosy and traditional decor- Im glad it hasnt gone down the route of the elephant and had a tasteless refurb. They even have a decent coffee machine now yippee!
