Wonderful welcome from the hosts. The staff were friendly and very helpful. First time in a restaurant with our four legged friend Roxy (a very reactive Jack Russell), the staff were amazing with her and we felt relaxed. Lovely choice and quality of food beautifully presented. We had an excellent meal catching up. The village is delightful. Thank you everyone.

Today was our 1st visit to The Rose & Crown in years!. 2 of us had fish and chips, my husband had the crab main. Then we each had a dessert. The food was full of flavour, presented well and large enough to share 1 between 2 people. Very reasonably priced. Excellent food and service!.

Cheapest in the area for a reason. Plaice was watery and tasteless, batter was thin and oily. Tasted like over used oil, perhaps because it was the end of the day. Chips were nice. Took visitors who were very disappointed as they were expecting Brixham fresh fish. Sorry owner but this was our experience.

¡Qué desastre es la organización de este café! Fui allí a almorzar para reunirme con amigos que solían dirigir be&Bs, así que saben una o dos cosas sobre cocinar y servir comida. Todos acordamos que necesitaba una buena revisión. Al parecer, sólo había cuatro funcionarios que trabajaban para atender más de 100 coberturas. Uno trabajando en la cocina, uno limpiando mesas y dos sirviendo comida; de hecho, uno sirviendo comida y bebidas y otro tomando el pago. Tardaron más de media hora en servir y en las dos horas que estuvimos allí la cola no disminuyó. Algunas personas solo querían una bebida caliente y un pastel, pero tenían que esperar junto a las personas que querían una comida. Se necesitan al menos dos miembros más del personal, uno que sirva comida, otro que prepare bebidas y otro que sirva sopa, tal vez mientras que el número cuatro podría recibir el pago. Las mesas de limpieza de las niñas no tenían modales ni idea de que había que mover las cosas de la mesa para darle una limpieza a la mesa, no se usó aerosol y cuán limpio estaba el paño sigue siendo un misterio. Quien dirija este café debe mirar bien cómo se administra este lugar y emplear más personal. La comida era realmente sabrosa pero bastante cara y la elección de ensaladas necesitaba un ojo nuevo. La cafetería está en un lugar tan bueno con fácil aparcamiento y una encantadora zona de estar exterior que se estaba utilizando ayer en octubre. Si la gerencia necesita ayuda para reorganizarse, hay cuatro ex be&be damas que están llenas de sugerencias. Mientras tanto no volveremos y no estaremos sugiriendo encontrarnos con amigos aquí en el corto plazo.

I’ve lived in Shrewsbury for two years now, and this is by far the best Chinese food I’ve found so far, and I’ve tried a lot of places! The sweet and sour king prawn balls were amazing.

We booked the kitchen and bar restaurant a couple of weeks in advance notifying them that we would be using our Jumeirah One £100 voucher that we exchanged with our points. We were warmly greeted and sat straight away. Service was very good, though empty inside. We ordered the salt and pepper squid to start which was very nice. Then for mains we had the king prawn linguine which was very nice though lacked any real flavour. Maybe a touch of chilli or something to give it a slight kick. We also had the mixed grill with lamb kofta, chicken skewers and diced lamb. Unfortunately the diced lamb was tough. Surely use lamb neck fillet. Chewy as stewing lamb. Shame. Rest was very nice. Then we came to pay. I said we were paying with a Jumeirah One voucher. My phone was taken to prove the code, we never saw the bill! Then there were a total of four people trying to sort it. Eventually I was told that the voucher couldn’t be found and could I email an address to prove the code. Really. Finally I said I would give it 5 more minutes or walk out. Had enough. Finally I was given the thumbs up that it had been accepted. Still no bill!! And I have now found out that they have deducted not only one voucher but also another £100 voucher without my consent (and I believe the bill was about £90). All in all an embarrassment of an ending. Shame. I await an apology, my second £100 back and maybe some kind of reimbursement too for the problems!!!
