Rose & Crown in East Riding of Yorkshire

The food was excellent, with generous portions at a great price. The menu choices were varied. Will definitely go again

We celebrated a "big birthday" with family and friends in the function rooms upstairs at the Rose and Crown - and it was a huge success. The whole team is exceptionally well trained in their roles with the result that what should happen actually does happen. Service was impeccable - there was always someone keeping their eyes open for what might be needed - and the day proceeded at the perfect speed for our guests to feel comfortable, not rushed or "organised". The food at the Rose and Crown is always great and our buffet was no exception. The most common comment I heard was that it was the very best buffet ever - and I agree! Not just the food itself but the presentation - the chefs are really talented in making food look irresistible! We had a wonderful day and thank every single member of the team for all they did to make it so.

Stayed for 3 nights as we were there for a 80th birthday. Had dinner for 10 on Saturday night, and there was not one complaint within the group, in fact everyone was full of praise. The buffet on Sunday for the party was second to none. Great food and plentiful. The staff could not have been more attentive and helpful. Will definitely stay again, on maybe a trip to the races

Having been in Beverley many times I have never eat here. Have to say it was good and as required. On a bust Friday night I was able to get a table and order taken quickly. Food came hot and fresh. All tasted good. When back will visit again.

Booked this place based on the excellent reviews on Trip Advisor. Unfortunately our experience was far from excellent. The belly pork was tough. Did not come with bubble and squeak and was served with lumpy mash and watery gravy. The pie of the day Steak & Ale had plenty of meat and no ale. It was desperately salty and the pastry top was dry. No pastry bottom. Again lumpy mash and watery gravy. In fairness the young waitress that served us was lovely. She apologised and said she would pass our comments to the kitchen staff, we confirmed to her it was not her fault paid our bill and left. We would not return.

Booked for the Sunday lunch and it didn't disappoint! From meat, veg, huge yorkies to the gravy it was delish. One of our group opted for the Curry on the specials board and was delighted with his choice too. Service is second to none, friendly & professional staff from start to finish, Libbie our server was very attentive and always on hand when we needed more drinks or ready to order puddings. Sundays are busy and we appreciate that, but never felt overlooked by anyone. We will be returning very soon.

After reading such good reviews on the food we decided to try out the food here. We were not disappointed. Food arrived in good time. Portions were generous and all food hot and tasty. My husband had scampi which was huge and I had the pie which was full of delicious pork and stuffing, both served with veg and chips. The staff were friendly and polite. Would definitely return when in Beverley.

Went last year,not impressed. I thought I would cross this one off my list. Daughter's birthday. She booked a table. You have guest were. Not looking forward to it. The meal I had was out of this world. The best burger meal ever. The chips are the best I have had at a pub or a restaurant. For the meal I had for the price I paid, I would have paid more than I did. Would I go back. Try stopping me. Just one thing the sevice 10/10.

Great service, food delicious, but when we come again, we’ll definitely not have starters and mains cos they were huge! 7 of us had different dishes and everyone was delighted & couldn’t eat 100%, even a 14 year old who can eat for England.

We held a celebration for our son. We took over the whole of the downstairs pub. All management and staff couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. The bacon sarnies/chip butties fantastic, chip’s incredible and very generous portions. We had a thoroughly lovely evening. Thank you.

Having been in The Rose & Crown many times before for drinks we had not visited for food ! How foolish have we been - the food is fabulous! Relaxed, not rushed and very polite friendly staff make the visit even more enjoyable. One of our party had the Gammon main course and it was perfect, the rest had mixed meat sunday lunch with seasonal veg and I can say from 1st had experience it was nothing short of fantastic. Every bit of food was piping hot and very tasty, and pull beers and draught lagers along with numerous spirits to choose from. So, do not hesitate to visit - you will not be Disappointed.

Had difficulty getting someone to answer the telephone to make a lunchtime booking. Eventually managed to make the booking only to receive a telephone call 36 hours prior to the booking date saying the booking was cancelled as had decided not to open at lunchtimes anymore. we went to the rose and crown a little usure exactly what to expect. we booked a table for 5 for 8pm. we arrived just after 8 pm and we were made very welcome . the barman / waiter was brilliant , attentive and very efficient. as simple eaters two of us went for the steak burgers and they were brilliant , my wife had the steak and ale pie , Yummy and my son and his partner had a birthday treat of Cote de boeuf , a sharing huge plate of beef with two sauces , onion rings and a bucket of the best ever hand made chips . a great night out with food and drink for under £20 a head

we popped in on Sunday afternoon after coming in from the pouring rain. We waited at the bar for some time and people were coming and going but no one acknkowleded our presesnce. We persisted and and approached a member of staff to ask for a wine list. The member of staff looked at us puzzled then an older man walked past her. She said @ Do we have a wine list ?' The older guy who was obviously busy passed her one and she gave it to us. We had a look at the list but the bar was suddenly empty again. so we went down the road where we served immediately with a welcome.

First time back here in years and it didn't disappoint. Really lovely staff, food was gorgeous, best falafel burger I've ever tasted! Good quality wine and great music. The place felt really comfy, lovely open fire, dog friendly bar, relaxed and just generally lovely. We will definately be returning to sample the rest of the menu.
