I would say the best pub in Hessle beers always spot on staff friendly and plenty of character 👍

Went in Wednesday it was. Great , Kari oakie,bingo,play your cards right, raffle. Fully enjoyed the afternoon.

A lovely pub in Hessle Square (formally The Admiral Hawke), there is a wide range of beers lager and cider all reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly and welcoming there is a pool table in the back. The pub has regular live music. A real cross-section of clientele a proper community pub.

Great atmosphere during the finals however barmaids are so rude! Especially the very short haired blonde one (didn’t catch her name)! I’ve worked in the hospitality industry for years and I’ve not once spoken to someone in such a rude manner.

Both the bar maids that served me and my friends were extremely rude and unwelcoming. I’ve never been spoken to with that much disrespect before. They charged me incorrectly right before kick off and I didn’t notice until half way through the first half when the notification popped up on my phone. I went back to tell them and order another before half time began and the bar got busy. The barmaid told me it was my fault for not coming back sooner. Then proceeded to talk to the other bar staff whilst side eyeing me and making me feel extremely uncomfortable in front of a lot of customers. She then came over and told me I’m not getting this one for free and she’s not going through the system as she’s seen me come to the bar multiple times and order multiple drinks so she knows it’s correct. This isn’t true as I was driving and only went to the bar the one, I even offered to show her my transactions but she wouldn’t let me get a word in. I didn’t expect anything for free and I simply wanted to make them aware of their mistake to avoid it happening again. I didn’t even get an apology from her, instead all I got was made to feel like a nuisance and someone who just wants a free drink, it was extremely embarrassing in front of so many people. My friend then proceeds to order a pint of dark fruit and the bar maid serves him strong bow which he didn’t ask for, he corrects her before paying and she’s adamant he said strong bow. He didn’t. She tells him she’s not changing it and the most she can do is add a dash of black current. In both situations the staff were so rude towards us. I understand it was a busy night and there were a lot of people in the pub but the bar was not that busy. There wasn’t a big crowd of people around it waiting to be served or anything like that. There’s no excuse for how the staff treated me and my friends that night. To make matters worse they served all drinks in glasses, so outside in the beer garden so many glasses where smashed. One customer even threw his glass into the air and it shattered everywhere. It was so close to hitting someone in the head if they didn’t move out the way. At one point me and my friends where scared and security didn’t even remove him ! The whole place really needs looking into and I’d avoid at all costs, it’s unsafe and the bar staff need to learn manners

ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING!!! If i had the choice i wouldnt of even given 1 star. Whoever the barmaid was today, needs to learn some manners, decency and customer service skills. As i walked in with my 3 year old who was busting for the toilet there was no staff to be seen to ask so i made my way round the place to find the toilets only for her to come storming in from the other doors behind me and rudely shout errrr where do u think your going lady. I was mortified and taken back by how intimidating she was acting whilst i had my child! She then proceeded to to tell me i should of asked to use the toilets and i had to be very quick. There is no need for her behaviourand there is no wonder the place was more or less empty on a saturday. Also the place is an absolute dunp if my daughter wasnt so busting i would definitely gone else where. First and last time i will ever step foot. Not what anybody should experience on the first time. Im disgusted and to be quite honest your lucky i had my daughter with me and i know how to stay calm in front of her!

Been here lots of times & always being happy with the service. Today the barmaid on duty was very miserable & I had to wait 10minutes to be served while she checked through raffle tickets. Even going to the bar for a second time she made no effort or communication at all. Very disappointed!!!

Good drinks at reasonable prices, service is also good, when I have visited a comfortable atmosphere, just a place for a drink and a chat. Quite a few TV's on the walls usually showing some kind of sport. At the back a pool table but was not being used when I was there. Clientele cover most age groups.

Myself and some friends visited recently and the bar staff was nothing but rude, would not recommend to anyone. Has a very hostile environment inside too. Made it feel very unwelcoming.

An absolutely fantastic pub. We called in on Friday night when visiting the area and found it. There was a great atmosphere and a good DJ and quite a few on the dance floor, but plenty of space at tables still to keep away from crowds if you wish (like me at the moment). The prices were great too. Everyone seemed friendly.

Decent beer friendly staff and landlord and landlady

Disappointed to be asked to leave following a drink as children are not welcome. Our toddler wasn't causing any trouble and it was lunchtime on a Saturday. Whilst the staff were perfectly polite, this policy is archaic and nonsense. On a Saturday night fair enough, but 13:00? Furthermore, it is not advertised anywhere. Not in a rush to return to a Craft Union Pub!

Rough pub but looks ok from the outside. Its similar to a Weatherspoons. I went in once with friends, the foul language, far better places to drink

Not from Hessle, only visiting for a couple of nights. We love this pub, very welcoming, very efficient and lots of regulars who are very friendly! Would recommend

Visited on the afternoon of the 19 June. Extremely friendly staff very attentive and made us feel very welcome. Toilets were clean to. Beer garden is lovely here with two big TVs. We will definitely be back.

Went in and was asked to be seated and wait to be served. 10 minutes later we were still sat waiting to be served the pub wasn't busy after a few more minutes we got up and moved onto marquis of granby were we seated and served within minutes

What a great pub this is and so well managed. Very hard working and friendly landlord and landlady! Great social distancing restrictions in place that are effective but don’t spoil the experience!

I went to watch the football in admiral pub in Hessle wile I was in there a young lady was having to move heavy wooden tables on her own when I asked the manager to help her his reply was she’s ok doing It which I was a bit shocked by the duty of care he was showing to his staff but because I had confronted him about it he asked people near me if they wanted to watch the rugby which I did say I am watching the football but he still had to turn it over it’s a shame that some little people need to have power but don’t know how to use it

Cheap beer and not a great deal of selection. One of the more traditional pubs in the area. Not bad if you are on a budget and like this style of beer

Called in here for a couple of pints and they had a good selection, they have a great beer garden out the back and play some good music.

I think I still have a slight headache from our night out at the Admiral one of Hessle resident's favourite spots... The drinks were flowing, the music was crazy, the laughs were out of this world and the photo's cannot be shared...lol great night out!

Great Beer garden at the rear. Cheap beer. A pub for the lads to meet and start the night off. If you want a quite drink give it a miss.

Went out for a few drinks with some friends and absolutely enjoyed this pub. The atmosphere was brilliant, music was great and staff kept up with how busy it was making it easy to get served. We had a fabulous night and even though we ventured away to try the other pubs in the area we came back to this pub for a dance and a laugh. The products are cheap making it even better to enjoy!

Came here for Hessle Feast weekend and was extremely busy but staff handled it so well and what a great atmosphere!!

Excellent place for groups. All the sports are on offer and live music. Very cheap bar prices as well.

An almost perfect place for a quite afternoon lunch. Decent cheap well cooked and tasty food, decent beer, friendly and attentive staff and music from thirty to forty years ago and comfortable seats. The sort of pub you thought had gone forever.

Not that exciting, would like to see more beers. Had one then moved on, nothing special. Music on the weekend, but can be loud

just opened under new management and good for sports and a cheap pint to go with it, you can get a tetleys for £1.90

This pub sells the best pint of bitter for miles around , ( Worthington and John Smiths ), glasses are always sparkling , good selection of music , good company , Mark and Carol and family know how to run a pub ! Forget the rest - try the best ! !

The new landlord and landlady are absolutely brilliant, always make you feel welcome everytime you visit. Arguably the best Pub in Hessle with some form of entertainment on every single night. Tuesday Club from 3pm with bingo, play your cards right, karaoke, raffle and loads more, Wednesday night is Open Mic night where as it says in the title you can just turn up and place, Friday and Saturday night it turns into a sort of Nightclub with a brilliant young and upcoming DJ. and Sunday and Thursdays is Karaoke nights! Well worth a try!

The pub has been open for ages, great atmosphere, great service. Beer garden to rear and front is lovely.

I am not surprised this pub as closed The Sunday lunch was very nice but it always appeared to be full of family members eating and very few paying customers. I hope someone else takes it over soon.

Had a very nice meal with my family. Had fish and chips which was plentiful and tasty. Would recommend it for anyone.
