Costa Coffee in East Riding of Yorkshire

Loads better than Bridlington Costa. Staff very helpful in clearing the table we were looking at and bringing part of the order to our table. The coffees and cheese toasty were lovely as normal. The decor was dated and the cafe could do with a revamp.

Costa Coffee you know what your getting with this brand. I find this spot in Beverley to be unclean, untidy and normally unpleasant service. Long wait times for a poor quality coffee. It is often closing early and opening late

Probably the worst cafe in Beverley. It takes way too long to get served (even with a small queue). I just find it dark and dirty. So many other nice independent cafes in the town.

Costa Coffee is always good value and good service

Ordered a large Latte, walked outside and took a sip to find the drink was tepid at best. Went back in and the polite girl serving said they would make another. The chap making the drinks couldn't resist a little quip saying 'there you go, Ive made that one extra hot'. Didn't ask for extra hot, just hot the first time around would have sufficed. Competition is fierce on the high street these days with people thinking more carefully about where they spend their money. If its barely warm coffee and snippy comment from certain staff then this is the place for you. Personal I'm sure there are many more coffee shops that do a far better job so its the last time I'll bother with Costa

This costa is a very nice one. It's in a good location, not too busy and has a good atmosphere. Although it does feel slightly temporary inside as where you order only goes so far up and then it's the real ceiling but over all a very nice little hang out spot

Have to give the staff massive kudos. We came in like 10 mins before closing and they happily made us two strawberries and cream frappes, and made sure we didn't feel a burden. I've been in many coffee shops to shoo you away when they're close to closing. They were amazing and especially on a very hot and humid day. Really can't fault the staff or the store. Brilliant service from both.

Walked into this Costas,was a little putoff by the smell inside,but persevered, ordered a coffee which to be Fair was ok, however The toilets are disgusting The tables are not clean,I cleaned mine with a serviette. The floor isn't clean This place needs a deep clean throughout, won't visit again.

I sit in here most days hours on end doing school work and can I just what a lovely place it is. The staff are always so kind whom I love having a chat with, and it’s so lovely to see them also chatting to other individuals and making their day to. The coffee is great as is the food. The place is always super clean making it such a pleasant place to be!

Strawberry cream cooler lady here. Another perfect Strawberry cream cooler made for me. Staff are fab and made it just the way I like it.

A bit expensive but good coffee and food.

The filthiest Costa Coffee shop I have ever been in. The toilets were a disgrace, tables were full of used crockery. One of the staff clearing the tables seemed to have a problem banging and slamming everything dragging chairs and throwing them under the tables, never again .

Simply the best place for a coffee in Beverley, either take out or sit in, Mickey and the staff are superb 👌

Fast service, what felt like the manager was very short staffed, she was glued to the machine while making everyone's drink but still kept the queue to a minimum.

Popped here for a drink before meeting friends. Very busy as everyone was sheltering from the rain. Managed to grab a table and sat to enjoy my iced drink. I was even joined by another solo customer and we passed the time away until I left. Friendly staff good coffee and (normally) plenty of seating.

Visited today ordered two cappuccinos a toasted teacake and a cherry bakewell .didn't get a teacake got a shortcake millionaire instead complained no apology also the cherry bakewell was dry and stale will not visit again

The frappé was disgusting, tasted like sweet yoghurt/cake batter. I already left so couldn't get a remake. The lady who served me was nice though.

I visited Costa on Toll Gavel in Beverley today and was impressed, as usual. My almond latte was delicious, and the service was friendly and polite. To cap it all, when I ordered a “pain au raisin” to go with my coffee, the young guy behind the counter said that since he was about to dispose of them, as it was around 4pm, he hadn’t charged me for mine. Somewhat cheekily, I said, “Well, if you’re going to dispose of them, may I have a second one, please…?!” He kindly handed over a second one for free. That’s what you call great service.

Popped here to take a rest while out shopping and being a lady who lunches! On a sunny April day, I ordered a Ruby frostino...yum! Good service, nice staff, clean tables...always good to come here and sample the summer menu, especially now M&S food is on offer beside the usual Costa fayre.

It’s very nice, good environment. It is very expensive however, I think it’s the brand you are paying for. The iced lattes are Devine.

The service has always been really good and I think the selection of food any drinks is really good too. I love that there's options for people with different dietary requirements too. In my opinion it's the better value of the big coffee chains. I personally find it a bit cheaper than some of the others, which is also nice.

Coffee wasn't good. Tasted as if the machine hadn't been cleaned leaving a burnt after taste.

Walked in but walked out, the place looking uninviting, by the entrance it had litter and was muddy. Tables outside looked grubby and a one table was next to a grubby overflowing waste bin. Not looked after place at all

We ordered through Uber Eats and while they were late (not Costa’s fault) Costa hadn’t sent everything we had ordered and when I had called for advice, they were very rude on the phone. The order arrived to us smashed up and not edible which was down to how those at Costa had packed the order. I’m really disappointed and I won’t be going to this Costa again. It’s not worth being spoken to in such a way.

Only one very disinterested young person serving at 4:30pm on a friday. Stood waiting in line for 8 minutes without even a hello or other acknowledgement. When the lad then left the counter unmanned to go fetch more stock I got fed up and went elsewhere as did others in the queue.

Crowded & hectic on the Saturday morning l visited, for a fix of Gingerbread latte. Long queue, but the excellent staff dealt with it all, quickly & efficiently.

Stopped for a hot chocolate, long wait at counter@ 10 minutes! Eventually got our drinks which tasted ok were warm but not as hot as they usually are. Within the hour both my friend and I were crippled with stomach pains etc and had to cut our day out short A member if staff was wiping the machine down whilst waiting to be be served the cloth looked disgusting! Begs the question of hygiene standards In addition a member of staff cleared the table but never returned to clean it

Firstly given wrong size with reluctant correction then both Coffees were lukewarm. Worst of dozens of Costa's visited countrywide

This Costa store in Beverley does have a couple of tables & chairs outside by the entrance on the pavement.Inside there's about 20 tables all on ground level .The Staff counter service was very welcoming & pleasant,coping very well with the steady flow of customers.Only problem being the hand sanitiser station at the entrance was empty !

Just popped in to Costo while shopping and was disgusted with the level of hygiene. The disabled toilets were filthy with pee all over the seats and floor. It was very unclear which tables were available. Turns out the ones that did not have a huge label on we're not available. The label said do not use the table if not cleaned, but the only clean tables were the ones that were unavailable. We noticed that the staff were clearing tables but not cleaning them at the same time. We picked two tables fastened together then discovered muck in rained between the two tables - no way thosevrableschad been sterile for a long time. We left feeling dirty for having been there. I will never return to this grubby filthy cafe.b

We stopped here early one Saturday morning while out and about shopping. Only 2 tables outside so lucky to get one. We enjoyed our drinks in the sunshine, a latte for my husband and mocha for me. Nicely prepared and staff polite and helpful, even though busy. Always nice to come here, especially when it's sunny!

Used the order from your table on app. Have used this in others Costa cafes but this was completely different!!!! Ordered and as it reads you order pay and await it arriving without leaving your table - ordered 12 mins later in a quiet period of service the blond waitress placed the tray with two drinks close to counter and sprinkled cappuccino with cinnamon as ordered. Then picked up a full tray next to it and started to take to kitchen - I politely asked her if those were our drinks to which she said didn’t you get a notification!!! She said she can go and get them so we did - fail to see the point of it when in other Costa cafes they serve as per the described process! Flashing lightbulb above us and tables which took ages to clear and clean - a Costa we won’t be using again! Poor service nil management and non caring staff!

I am doing this review for the costa in the shopping centre in Beverley near Debenhams. Popped in and looked good . Tables well apart. Only two couple in front of us . Then we waited for what we thought was a long time. The choice of food was a sausage bap or cheese and ham toasty . Then was told the coffee machine wasn’t working . Ok, I love my coffee but thought I would have a pot of tea. My daughter was sat at the table ordering her meal on the app. We did think about leaving . We finally got the sandwiches and tea but my daughter didn’t get hers . Staff said it hadn’t gone though and hadn’t been paid for. She showed them her order on her phone. Obviously the app is not working and none of us could do the track and trace . To top it all. It was the worst cup of tea I have had in many years. Tasted like dish water. We left .

You know what to expect and this Costa does not let you down. The seasonal specials in coffee and chocolate and well worth a go.

Haven’t been here for a while. Love the coffee and toasted sandwiches but such a long wait. Getting a table is sometimes a hassle . I would go more often if I had the time to wait.

We arrived here late morning to find a queue, but this didnt matty too much as we werent in a rush. After about 15 minutes wait, we were service. Opting for a couple of the seasonal coffees, we sat and relaxed. Coffee is always good here, the staff friendly and polite and the cafe clean. Will always come back, just be prepared for a wait at busy times!

Regularly have a cappuccino here The drinks are never disappointing Usually get served within 5-10 mins depending how busy they are The staff are pleasant but dont get chance to talk much as they are always busy The environment is bright & fresh after recently having a refurb Always find it relaxing having a coffee here Would recommend but then I just love a Costa coffee anyway any day! :)

Having spent 4hours walking round the sites of Beverley, we were in need of a drink. So we visited Costa Coffee for a cake and a Vanilla Latte. Absolutely spot n. Friendly smiley staff and coffee in a comfy seat...heaven!

It's a very nice place. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The latte is just right for me. Not too strong or weak. It's just right.

Costa coffee is me & my husbands favourite place to have a coffee. Always seems to be busy with friendly staff. The coffee is very good. The criticism is the toilets are always untidy, water everywhere. Wet floors messy no matter if it’s Costa coffee in Cottingham, Hull, Beverley they are a mess. Makes you wonder if there is a rota system for checking the toilets are clean? The placement of the hand dryer in the Beverley Costa is ridiculously close to the toilet causing it to go off constantly.

Visited with family for a latte. Latte was weak and not hot enough.My glass of coffee was handed over by a male assistant holding it by the rim! Don't they teach their staff hygiene - this is the best way to transmit germs as it is handled by the part that we drink from.

Ok, you all know what to expect food and drink wise, the usual good standard of coffee and snacks. But try the hot chocolate, especially the Blackforest at Christmas!

I popped here for a drink before work. Staff were friendly, the restaurant was clean and tidy and the coffee freshly made and good. Very busy with workers, shoppers and school children. Facilities clean, if a bit small as constantly turned on the had dryer or bumped my elbows!

Reviewed yet another Costa! But hey hoe I like their coffee! Clean and tidy Costa on Sunday not very busy as just finishing for the day. There were actually two serving coffee that makes a change! Can’t fault it apart from usual toilets that are always a bit untidy.

Coffee is good but I hope the standard of cleanliness or lack of it in the toilet area doesn't reflect on the whole place.

We visited twice during our stay in Beverley, as good as most Costa's, however on our first visit I visited the toilet and found it was out of paper, I told the "Manager", we visited again the next day and again I had to visit the toilet and again out of paper, so either they use a lot of paper or it was never replenished. I thought these places were monitored on an hourly basis.

Went for a trip out to. Beverley called in for coffee, we had our camera on looking at the cakes, we immediately got pounced on by rude staff "you can film in here", Where's the sign saying this???? Why is it other people can use their phones to take pics and clips of their food

I visited very recently and although a small queue it was perhaps not as busy as it could have been. Whilst in the queue an elderly lady came in and seemed to have some difficulty walking. The waiter rushed around the front and found the lady a good seat, whilst taking her order. He did her order and took it over to her, a nice touch. It came to my turn. The waiter a male, possibly the manager took my order, all very proffesional and efficient. The lady who did my coffee was friendly with a bit of chat. The tables were clean. When I finished another female came and cleaned the table straight away. Of course my flat white was great.

Traditional Costa, with traditional Cost expectations!!!! Nothing outstanding to report. Can't give 5*as they're are coffee shops within the local area of Beverley that exceed the Costa brand xxxx

Meet some of my friends here as we love the coffe, never disappoints me and toasted sandwiches are really nice . Sometimes hard to find a table and service is quite slow but it’s worth the wait.

I'm sure everyone knows what to expect from Cost by now, usuall selection of coffee and desserts, but have a try of the hot chocolate, yummy! Always a warm welcome and well worth a visit, especially when its cold and wet outside. Also free wifi.

Good cup of coffee piping hot Used a serviette to wipe the table dry,was extremely grimy. If they could improve the cleanliness of the tables by not using the same j cloth which had seen better days then it would be a big improvement.

Today I visited this shop for the first time ever and as a first time mum of an 9 week old baby, i had an absolute melt down!After a walk around Beverley my baby was crying for a feed, so I popped into Costa and i ordered myself a coffee and asked for a little ice bucket to cool down my babies bottle, everything was brought over for me,i then settled down to feed him. To cut a long story short (new mum's will understand) it went bottoms up, in the worse possible way, I had a breakdown, tears, the lot!it's a mention really of the staff, didn't catch their names, two guys, both so helpful, one gentleman who was genuinely concerned and calmed me down and the other one who cheered me up with a slice of cake, both reassuring me, if I needed anything else they were there and continued to check on me. Small personalised gestures go along way and I will never forget how much they helped that day.big thank you, they are a huge credit to the place and to the world of new mum's!I hope this gets back to them.

Nothing spectacular to praise, but also nothing to complain about. Functional rather than welcoming for a relaxing coffee. Noisy. Was full on a Saturday lunchtime, and several people in the queue, which was probably as a result of only 3 staff appearing to be on....

Así que después de leer otras críticas recientes de este particular Costa sólo puedo suponer que se ha instalado un nuevo gerente o personal nuevo adquirido porque voy a este como el mejor que hemos visitado hasta ahora. El café era como de costumbre, nunca cambia. Pero el lugar en sí estaba muy limpio. Mi mayor problema en este tipo de establecimiento está sucia ollas todavía en mesas y basura y migas en el piso. Nada de eso en esta costa, ya que todos los clientes a la izquierda una mesa una chica vino y me aclararon que la mesa y limpiado la zona registró. Los baños estaban en condiciones similares también limpias. Así, tiene que ser 10 / 10 para éste y bien hecho a todo el personal.

Always seems that everyone is rushing around and they have very little time to keep the place clear of cups, plates etc, very cramped service area with everyone under each other's feet, I'm sure they must have several near misses or accidents happen due to the cramped conditions. On my last visit from entering the shop to getting my coffee took 22 minutes, this is not acceptable, only 1 serving, 1 taking the orders and she was not over confident and never really knew fully what she was doing, new I would say, 1 young lad doing the pots & refilling the shelfs, no one else in sight. Training needs to be looked into and an operations plan put into place to improve service.

We called in Costa, on our couple of days in beverley, but I was shocked at the uncleanness, this was the worse Costa we have visited. No loo roll dirty toilets, dirty doors.

Popped in for a quick coffee service slow, not like it used to be. Seems to be less staff and more of an atmosphere between staff

We popped in for a coffee Easter Sunday , I love costa coffee and bypass every café till I find one . In this instance ,BAD MOVE ! just disgusting ,I was really shocked .!!! ,even the coffee tasted bitter, That's cause the machine needed a good clean too no doubt . The massive lampshades were filthy and cobwebs were hanging from them ,the tables were full of stains and the floor was filthy , I went to use the bathroom , well that was it, I NEARLY passed out . The smell was horrendous the toilet floor was disgusting Don't think these toilets have been cleaned in months it was the worst toilet stench ive ever come across . I left straight away . more to get some fresh air before I choked . Dreadful needs sorting

Usual costa stuff ,good coffee but never really get on with there food offer.this place had a bit of a housekeeping issue .tables not cleared ,poor toilets .it may be because it seemed to be run by young guys.good banter ect.but the basics suffered .

popped in with a friend for a coffee. same as all costa coffee really. can't go wrong. i tend to have the mocha.

Have been visiting this particular Costa coffee since it opened and must say that it's condition has seriously gone down hill. We have been saying this for a while but when we visited yesterday we have decided not to go there again. As soon as we entered the cafe we were greeted with the ever worsening smell of stale milk. Whilst sat we also noticed how much of the flooring was in a very poor condition with areas of the laminate flooring lifting up as people walked across the floor ( perfect trip hazard and would expect a trip / claim before long). The tables where the usual sticky mess which seems to have become the norm for this location. Although this cafe is very used it is terrible that it's condition is becoming so dire. The toilets are very poor and don't appear to receive a high standard of attention either.There are many other locally run ( not chain type) in the area and these have much higher standards of cleansing. Our decision has been made and with not visit this cafe again.

This is not exclusive to the Beverley outlet as I have yet to find acceptable restrooms in any COSTA in th UK. However I have included photos of the toilets in Beverley which never seem to improve. Furthermore the staff with exception of one young lady was not welcoming at all. The only reason I ever go back to COSTA is because I do like the Cafe American. In a nutshell I think the staff are rushed off their feet and that the underlying problems are due to the company itself.

Visited today whilst shopping in beverley. We were met at the counter by a young man who obviously didn't want to be there & wasn't interested in the slightest. Once he did take our order the lady at the coffee machine got to work in her state of unorganised chaos, with milk spilt all over. The coffee machine in a state, and a dirty cloth for the milk wand. Once we found a clean table we drank our drinks and then used the loo which was the worst I've seen in along time. All I can say is never again!

Rare opportunity for a treat. Disappointed with the cleanliness of the place. Surface dusty and floors dirty. Doors and windows need a good clean or paint. Staff loud and unprofessional checking there mobile phones

I have visited Costa 3 times now and have not been impressed.The staff are always courteous, however the food is proportionately slim pickings and muffins dry. The interior design is dull and and always reminds me of wet afternoons, even when it is sunny outside.

Coffee was perfect, just how we like it. Staff were friendly and helpful and wished us happy new year as we left

Called in a 5pm yesterday although this Costa does not close until 5.30pm. The shutters were down over the cold drinks and all the cakes covered in cling film. The opening words were "we close in 30 minutes". My reply "I thought you already were". Not very welcoming. I also don't appreciate them mopping the floor when customers are in!If it closes at 5.30pm. Close at 5.30. Not 5!!

Had a lovely day with a friend in Beverley and after a walk around and getting our nails done we decided to go inside for a hot chocolate before I left back to Hornsea (would LOVE a Costa there!)Staff were helpful and polite (as I'd asked if the Lindt hot chocolate was actually pleasant or not, just wanted a honest opinion).As we walked over to the table with a black forest hot choc' and a toasted marshmallow hot choc' (Devine by the way) my friend being her clumsy self spilt my drink all over the sofa at the back, table and floor! The two gents (can't remember there names) were honestly so so helpful and lovely, even checking if I was okay and hadn't burnt myself! To top it off they even replaced my drink free!The team on shift 23/11/16 at 4pm deserve a medal! Thank you for putting up with us!

This Costa's location in Beverley is centrally located and is in the perfect spot for a break. Even though it gets busy, it's still possible to get a seat. In the summer it's nice to sit outside and enjoy watching people and nice weather. Great coffee, excellent service.
