Best food I've ever had in my life!! Only legnds eat here... 5*+

We just popped in for a simple something to eat , a case of a sandwich and a coffee but I was struck by how relaxed this bar is ! You could actually sit all day in a great ambience , feel relaxed and comfortable within very historic surroundings. As I stated we had a simple sandwich but the food we saw going out seemed to look very nice . The staff were lovely and very helpful. If I lived closer I’d be visiting often . Highly recommend if you want something quick .

Esta visita fue un poco decepcionante, ya que mientras estábamos felices de esperar un poco de tiempo para una mesa (muchas mesas estaban vacías en ese momento) y otros clientes que esperaban se dieron por vencidos y se fueron, habíamos disfrutado de nuestra visita anterior tanto que esperábamos que valdría la pena la espera. Después de haber pedido un almuerzo ligero con bebidas calientes y pastel, una serie de artículos en el menú ya se habían agotado dejando una opción limitada para nuestro almuerzo. La sopa era preciosa, pero la patata al horno era pequeña y promedio con un queso suave para rellenar. El pastel pedido al principio nunca llegó y después de un tiempo dejamos de esperar. A la hora de pagar hicimos saber al equipo y si bien se hizo una disculpa y oferta para suministrar el pastel para llevar, no teníamos ganas de pagar por el pastel para llevar. Nuestra decepción se agravó aún más ya que el pastel que habíamos pedido había sido consumido por otros comensales. Tuvimos un encantador paseo por el centro de jardinería después, aunque realmente mejoró nuestra visita. Esperamos volver a visitarlo más tarde en el año y estoy seguro de que nuestra experiencia volverá a ser genial.

This is an attractive venue in a lovely old building. Staff were welcoming and accommodating, allowing me to sit overlooking the park, despite it being some way for them to bring my order, and the cafe being almost empty. A very full outline of all options was given when I asked about an item that looked tasty. Sure enough, the one I had my eye on was the most suitable, and indeed delicous, as was the coffee. An excellent experience, which I would recommend...

We booked for a family Sunday lunch, when calling to book there were a lot of hums and ha’s making it sound really difficult to take our booking. The staff looked as though it was dress-down Sunday. The food was well presented and tasty but very expensive for what it was.

Had my grandson's 1st birthday gathering here in the conservatory area. Staff were very friendly, Charlie helped sort food for my two children who have dairy and gluten allergies. The drinks were good and reasonably priced. Would recommend this place for a family gathering as the staff look after you well.

My daughter organised afternoon tea to be delivered to my home for my birthday as a surprise. Stepney Hill weren't really doing deliveries at this time but still agreed to do it as my daughter lives in Liverpool and wasn't able to see me on my birthday. The tea was lovely and the staff went above and beyond to do this for us. Thank you Stepney Hill X

Well worth the drive for quality fish & chips. We always gets warm welcome and are never disappointed. Keep up the great job you do

Fantastic chip shop asked for skin to be taken off Scottish man said it’s what they do in Scotland . Food was incredible and price was fair

Encantador café para sentarse y relajarse, sin embargo la comida ha bajado colina en mi opinión, parece que no hay suficiente personal y la amabilidad está desapareciendo lentamente, que es una pena! Scones siempre es difícil y no agradable necesita una receta mejor.

What a disappointment!!! Had the quiche and chips with salad, omg it was awful, the chips were terrible, too well overdone, the quiche was also terrible as the pastry wasn’t even cooked, overall the whole meal was just awful …. It is also very cold in the eating area, I was absolutely freezing from the moment I arrived till I left, the staff kept opening the outside doors!!! The staff were not good, young girls who just couldn’t care about you, no one gives eye contact or asks if everything is ok, “how is your meal”? Absolutely nothing !!!!!!! The staff at Sam Turners need some very basic training! ! Will I return? Absolutely not…. If you are reading this review, don’t go…… seriously ………..

Local newspaper reports that the premises are in liquidation as of 17 January and an ansaphone message refers callers to the liquidators.

This was my families first stop when relocating to the area and it couldn’t have been better. We stayed in the Swiss Cottage. Had a great breakfast with not just the food but the people every morning. The place was clean and well taken care of. The staff were all kind and thoughtful and friendly. We enjoyed our time there and have since been back for breakfast and dinners to just visit and be a part of that wonderful community.

Great typical pub. Dog friendly. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Quiet enough to have a relax. Drinks only but reasonable pricing
