Lord Beeching is my regular pub every now and so friendly and helpful and before I get to the door if they see me they know what drink I have and they too it's ready Michelle David Jamie and Jordan are soooooo 100% friendly

PUBTASTIC!!! David and Michelle were the hosts with the most. Fab night 🥳 Highly recommended for great good value ale and friendly chat 👍🏼👍🏼

A pleasant, if standard meal for three folk here. My wife had a good tagine and I had a pleasant rare steak. The important thing is that this establishment is dog friendly unlike Wetherspoons across the way. Staff were welcoming etc so this was a good choice. I had an average keg Stout - though it was a little too cold

Stumbled across this place looking for something to eat and found the staff not that welcoming, ordered our food and was sat near the kitchen with staff taking the Micky out of a local with very bad language ,which we wasn’t impressed about as we had kids with us. Food was very average.we shall not bother with this place again.

Decently priced drinks (£5.10 for large Sav Blanc), plenty of seating, clean toilets and quite an extensive menu with daily specials. Better ambience than Wetherspoons. Sports on several tv dotted around the place.Used it a couple of times when waiting for taxis to turn up - perfect location for that.

The decor changes more often than it's regulars. It's in an area of town that has a number of drinking establishments other than the Wetherspoons this is the only one that opens at lunchtime in the week. The place is tidy and clean, Landlord/lady bother with customers which is rare in chain pubs these days, Beer choice is on the dull side with two decent Brains Bitters only on tap a wider choice of it's Beers would be nice. Regulars are generally the same group who are there all day, everyday Pubs in Aberystwyth are pretty dire especially when it comes to Beer choice and quality the hotel next door is especially bad. I suppose Students aren't that fussy and are only bothered about how much they can down.

Great food, great service, great staff. I have loved my time here and it has become my new regular pub. Always happy faces and satisfying food and drinks.

I have had the displeasure of visiting this pub on numerous occasions over a number of years and I, along with others I know who have been regular customers at the establishment, will no longer be visiting whilst one member of staff remains at the pub. The manager David is a lovely man, you can tell he’s been around the industry for a while as he’s great with customers, a leader in the bar and also a great cook as I’ve sampled the food when he’s been in the kitchen. Regular customers and Staff over the years have come and gone within the pub, some excellent, some average, majority were lost due to one common factor - the cold unpredictable nature of the managers wife. From drinking a pint on my own in the corner of the pub, I have heard terrible comments about customers and towards members of staff at the pub which have always gone undealt with, there is a culture of fear among regular customers and the staff which is why for so many years nothing ever goes further than a complaint to the boss. This pub has so many customers around the area who would jump at the chance of returning if they weren’t intimidated by what might happen if they walked in. What was once a welcoming warm pub is now a ticking time bomb, one of which me and many others I know are staying well away. As an old technophobe I would’ve posted this months and months ago had I known how!

We had a day out to Aberystwyth today and were looking for somewhere to eat that would allow the doggo in...the food was excellent! The staff were very friendly and like i said, puppeh was welcome and 3 of us ate for just over £30 inc drinks. Would highly recommend

Second visit in the last week.Me and my surrogate mother visited again. We both had the same meals as we loved them so much. I had the 8oz rump steak, cooked to perfection. I'm a fussy eater and crossed half the options off to go alongside my steak. The staff were very accommodating. My surrogate Mother had the jacket potato with chilli. She thoroughly enjoyed. I fact said it was the best chilli she's ever had. Food was fresh and piping hot.

My last visit to Lord Beechings was a sad occasion being a funeral, but being back in Aberystwyth on lovely day called for a great roast. A menu packed with food for all types and lots of vegan options for me.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here: fresh cooked, with generous servings and discreet, attentive staff. This is a superior experience to Wetherspoons which is across the road. The menu offers great choice at really very reasonable prices. There are different offers for each day of the week. Cannot be bettered in Aberystwyth.

I popped in on a Friday night for a few drinks before town, came in greeted by locals all having a good time all made us feel welcome.

I saw on reviews on this site or Google maps that this was a good alternative to spoons across the road. Two mains for a tenner is great and the food was fresh and tasted lovely. Recommend the Welsh beef chilli. It would be 5 stars if I didn't pay 3 pound 20p for a monster ultra which is half that price over the road. Bar that gripe a great time was had.

This was my first time in this pub with some old friends. I had excited eyes after getting change from a tenner for three pints! Owners and bar staff alike were friendly. Jukebox with a good range of songs.

ordered ham, egg and chips. chips were cold, ham was cold, fatty and greasy and the eggs were practically raw. staff were abrupt and very rude when my friend asked to make changes to her food order. not hard to refrain from putting sour cream on food. the staff were very abrupt and unfriendly, seemed they didn’t want to be there as much as us.

Had lunch here last week. The order was place and paid for at the bar. When our plaice and chips arrived the food was hot and tasty. The staff are friendly and nothing was too much trouble. It is in an excellent location just opposite the railway station and a taxi rank. I found the establishment very clean especially the ladies toilets. If you are looking for an inexpensive good pub meal then the is the venue for you

While on holiday we went there Tuesday evening and Thursday for food and a drink. lovely staff both times, food quick and superb. Very clean throughout. Very friendly atmosphere and excellently run.

If you are looking for somewhere to eat in Aberystwyth you cannot beat Lord Beeching. The food is hot, super tasty and perfectly cooked. The prices are cheap and cheerful. I would highly recommend this place

On a motorcycling weekend with a group of friends. Weather was terrible, so we looked for somewhere to go. Thankfully, we found the Lord Beeching pub. Excellent place to be, very relaxing (even on a Saturday), fine beer, excellent food, nice ambience about the place. Spent all day there & was made very welcome by the landlord & landlady, Dave & Michelle. 5 stars all round. Turned a very miserable day into a great one!! Thank you.

Male toilet did not have any liquid soap in the dispenser to wash your hands. Baked potato looked bad and was still served to me. Would you eat this baked potato?

Visited in July with my wife, daughter and grandson. We Were made to feel welcome the staff were very friendly and the food was cooked well. Had a table outside in a little courtyard as the weather was very nice.the food was a decent pub standard for a chain, and very reasonably priced. Would definitely visit again for lunch.

We came here on the 13th August for our anniversary but had been in for a coffee earlier on in the day as id noticed on the window they did cajun chicken which is my favourite so we spoke to the man at the bar he was very helpful we went back later and really enjoyed our meals so much that we went back again the next day on both days we didn't have to wait long for our meals and both times the staff were very friendly and attentive we will definitely be returning in the future

We came here on Thursday 9th August, we visited Aberystwyth as we were on holiday after trudging around the town looking for a place that did sausage mash peas and gravy (odd finding but my partners son is autistic and will only eat this meal) we went into a few pubs and restaurants that did not do it or even point us in the right direction to a pub that did this sort of meal, we eventually found this little gem. As soon as we walked in we were welcomed in to the friendly Lord beechings to which they did sausage mash peas and gravy finally. We had to order at the bar which is no issue to us, the lady (older) behind the bar, was very friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us and our 2 boys.

We needed somewhere that was suitable for a family who had a dog and catered for gluten free... Lord Beechings did both! Friendly staff, lovely food. Will visit again, definitely recommend!

Greeted coldly by an older woman who seemed agitated from the moment we walked through the door. There was another very friendly looking younger man who did his best to make us feel welcome, he was very good with the kids and made sure our dog had water. We were served by the older lady at the bar, who was very snappy and huffed a good number of times during taking our order, this was a very uncomfortable experience. As my kids played pool the older lady would glare over at our table as if we were doing something wrong, again making us feel very uncomfortable. Food was bought to us by the young gentleman not long after we ordered, it wasn't bad but lasagne was cold in the middle and my garlic bread wasn't cooked, just slightly warm, jacket potato was also terribly over nuked but kids meals fine. When queried about lasagne, the female member of staff snatched plate off the table, didn't say anything and stormed into the kitchen. She then emerged, dropping the plate onto the table and walking off. Our experience was tarred by the attitude and behaviour of one member of staff, the young man was very attentive, took the time to talk to us and made us feel welcome, where as the lady, who we later heard was the managers wife, made us feel very unwelcome and seemed very dissatisfied with the clientele in the venue.

what a lovely clean pub probably one of the cleanest in Aberystwyth and the service matched, we were served by a lovely young lad called Oli nothing was too much trouble for him and he took the time to have a chat with me

Stopped for lunch on our journey to a holiday cottage. Were made very welcome by the young man at the bar . Our dog was allowed in as well in any area of the bar, he brought a bowl of water for him. Food came quickly after order. Quantity was sufficient although chicken was a little charred on one side. Friendly open attitude lots of space

Popped in to watch the England game, what a brilliant atmosphere will definitely be going back to watch the England game on Saturday

Thought we would pop in here for Sunday lunch. Order taken at 13.47. Only had turkey left so 3 lunches and burger and chips ordered. At 14.40 we enquired how much longer it would be. Meals arrived at 14.45. Veg stone cold. Meat/gravy/roast potato ok. Yorkshire pudding resembled an uncooked pancake. Recalled waitress who said she would put it in microwave. We declined. Our grandson ate his burger and owing to daughter being diabetic and had to eat by then we asked for refund on the other 2 meals. It did not seem overly busy so cannot explain length of time it took for food nor the quality of meal.

Started bad as we couldn't have the £8.99 deal dye to it being a bank holiday (No clear mention of this in the menu)we ordered w pints of larger, 2 starters and 2 mains. It then took 1 hour for the food to arrive. The chicken and bacon was good for a microwave meals and the veggie burger with no sauce and 2 bits of tomato and onion what rubbish saved only by the left over mushroom sauce left from the started. This was eventually topped of as the management told the waiter to offer use a soft drink to share. We laughed in amazement and asked 'are you serious?'. The waiter relied 'im sorry. It's the very best we can do. We laughed about it but very poor management and organisation.

Nice venue, friendly crew but the service was truly appalling. I waited 60 minutes for a cold bowl of soggy chips, quite simply, not good enough.

Five of us visited today for food and drink, the service was excellent and the bar staff very friendly. We all enjoyed the food which was reasonably priced. The drinks at the bar were also good prices would recommend and visit again.

What a great place to be staff are very welcoming food is hot fresh and tasty the place is spotless and the toilets are the cleanest I've ever seen fresh and fragrant child friendly and animals are also aloud grate great for families or if you just fancy a drink and watch the many sports that they show. Get yourself down for a grate time

I visited with a friend as we know the pub and enjoy its friendly atmosphere. We had the two for one deal on a Monday, and my vegetable lasagna did not disappoin! There are plenty of veggie options here that are delicious! Would definately recommend.

Called in for a pint and a meal. Very reasonably priced. All the food was cooked well and the place was clean. Nothing special but good value for money.

Came here on Saturday, warm friendly atmosphere and good food. Menu is extensive and is very reasonably priced too.

We spent an entire Sunday afternoon here. They are dog friendly and the food was great. 2 guys on the bar were really chatty and even provided us with water for the dog. We were worrying that we would have to leave the dog in the caravan for a couple hours to go watch the footy but the pub had sky sports aswell. Toilets were good too. Can't fault it

Having read the last two reviews I think they have harshly judged this place.Came on a Sunday afternoon.Had basic pub grub but found prices good.Kids portions a decent size and the sausages were proper sausages.The food was nicely presented.Husbands flame grilled burger was amazing.The toilets-both men's and ladies were very clean-which is refreshing in Aberystwyth.The man on the bar wAs friendly and couldn't do enough.Will defo be back.

It's rare that I write a one star review, as I appreciate that everyone can have a bad day. I also get that our experience was compounded by us only having an hour to eat before another appointment.We jumped into the Lord Beechings pub due to its location (close to our final destination).A family of four eating. The service initially at the bar was slow and disinterested. This was followed by a 45 minute wait after placing our order for the food to be served (with only four other tables being served food).When it arrived, it was clear that most have it had been sat under the lamps for quite some time. The salmon was bone dry, the chicken burger much the same and the burrito and curry were served with little care.The menu is basically a 'Weatherspoons' style and it smacked of very basic pub fare.If we hadn't been in such a hurry I would have taken the time to raise my thoughts there and then, but the slow service didn't give me the chance. We will simply choose another venue in future.

Visited at half 2 on a sunday. Full of families so thought good bet for food. Tv screens on and nice atmosphere. Unfortunately they had run out of roasted potatoes for roast dinners and then we were told they had to do yorkshire puddings from scratch so would be a bit of a wait, seemed ok but had to wait just on an hour and what came out was truthfully, not good. Yorkshire pudding on one plate so flat and pale, the mash we had instead of roasties was INSTANT MASH! Tasted awful and was cold. Considering we had to wait an hour they could have made real mash in that time (or indeed the roast potatoes!) Veg was cold. Meat, we had beef , was thick cut and was nice. The gravy was the only hot ITEM though besides our extra order of cauliflower cheese. We stayed for dessert as had paid up at beginning to get the 2 course offer. What did save this from being terrible was the salted caramel cheesecake which was lovely and the Strawberry shortcake sundae looked good. Ale was only Brains (SA and origianal)and not kept as well as we would have expected for a Cask marque pub. Better off going over the road to the Wetherspoons if you want chain pub food.

Myself, hubby and 3 children all had fantastic meals here today. Very clean and very friendly pub. Will deffo be back as they have good deals on every day

We found this bar/restaurant by chance. The moment you entered the bar you could tell from the reaction of the customers that it was friendly and welcoming (as well as popular). This friendliness was further reflected by the staff who could not have been more helpful.The food was first class and excellent value for money. By chance we met the manager Dave that night and it was good to be able to convey directly to him how much we had been impressed by our experience.We would definately eat here again and would recommend that anyone visiting Aberystwyth consider doing likewise.Wayne & J (Cheltenham).

The White Horse offers good lunches and evening meals. The service is quick at lunch time which is good. They change the menu fairly regularly and I can go in on my own for a meal without feeling awkward. There is good vegetarian choice and even vegan dishes too and the staff are friendly.

On visiting Aberystwyth there was a few places to chose to eat, I'm so glad we chose Lord Beechams.3 of us ate at a very good price and we were not disappointed by the portion size.2 Chicken Sunday lunches and 1 lasagne, very well presented and delicious. We squeezed in dessert which again was delicious.Staff were extremely polite, tables cleared away promptly and such a lovely atmosphere.Extremely clean bar and restaurant area, ladies toilets pristineThe beer garden is lovely, clean and well presented, we were lucky to have a sunny day.If you want delicious and reasonably priced food in a lovely clean and friendly atmosphere then I highly recommend Lord Beechams.

we visited here last November and were very impressed when we returned in March it was even better lovely lady who I think is the manager was very welcoming all the staff were friendly the service and the food was wonderful we had the surf and turf generous portions steak cooked to perfection excellent value this is a lovely pub with a lovely rear walled patio very much a locals pub which is always a good sign and we were welcomed by the regulars we will return thank you

The barmaid was rude and uninterested. She was too busy shouting at, and then flirting with the barman. I'm guessing they are a couple, judging by thier behaviour. Rubbing noses, messing about, etc behind the bar. We ordered a sharing platter for my fiancé, 2yr old and I. When it came out, not only was it absolutely tiny, the chips were missing. When my partner mentioned it she said "is it meant to come with chips?" when we said yes, she opened the kitchen door and shouted "is this meant to come with chips?" the 'chef' said that it didn't. She then returned to the bar to fetch the barman so they could BOTH check the menu. She then walks into the kitchen and returns immediately with the world's smallest bowl of chips, which were obviously the scrapings from the bottom of the chip pan. Barely an actual proper chip there. No apology, not even a comment, just dumped them and walked away. The food (the tiny portion of it) was vile. Looks like it had all been chucked in the deep frier together. The breaded chicken had been deep fried instead of oven baked, so that didn't turn out well. It was greasy, cold and disgusting. We couldn't get out of there quick enough. Not that the barmaid noticed, of course! We won't be going back!!

Visiting my brother and his girlfriend in windy wales and you couldn't ask for any better. Good food at a good price! Big order and the wait was not long... Drinks came straight away and the hot chocolate was one of the best I have had in a while! The feel of the pub is locely and homely and warm :D... Try it out and keep a business going in Aber!

Once inside, a delicious aroma hit my senses and I saw several tables; the food looked so good I just had to order! The service was speedy and the scampi & chips was above my expectations and experience of other pub-grub. Its the sort of welcoming pub where one can eat alone but not feel lonely; complete strangers were wishing each-other 'Happy New Year' and I forgot all about playing with my new phone! I had been here before with my partner but this was an enjoyable visit to cheer-me-up. Highly recommended! Will definitely go back this Easter.

My flatmate and I came for spice night not expecting too much more than a cheap meal, but we were surprised to find it was not only cheap but very nice and big portions too. We were the only ones in there which surprised us when the food cost us 7.99 for food and a glass of wine! Will definitely be back

Visited over the weekend and pub has been renovated since I was last here during my time at university in the town.Renovation work has much improved the pub, especially the toilets!The food is good and a popular place to watch a game of rugby which is very popular with the locals but it's all friendly - a good atmosphere.

we stayed in Aberystwyth for 4 nights this is a friendly pub with lovely staff we were a but dubious when we first went there as it is a Brains pub and our experience of Brains establishments are not impressive but this was the exception we were made to feel very welcome by the friendly professional staff thank you

First visit to Aberystwyth and I found this pub opposite the railway station. Friendly staff and great pint of Rev James. Good menu too!

Do the hulk...you know you want to (P.S. do not eat for two days beforehand). Good local with pool and clean toilets.

Me and a few friends tried these out after the new owners took over . Place looks good but the portions are tiny. Compared to what they offered before these portions aren't worth the price. I paid £6 something for ceasers salad, I had two lettuce leaves and a chicken breast. Not impressed. I also ordered sweet potato fries but they had run out, then I saw pigs in blanket (too early?) I had 5... Disappointed you get more from Morrisons meal deal

Came here with the family for food.... price looked good and the a good choice to please everyone.... I ordered egg and chips... they came in separate bowls :/ I had to ask for an extra plate - then I had to ask them to cook the eggs as they were still like white jelly - they cooked me fresh ones but gave me the same chips back... which by now were cold :/ the waitress we had was friendly but not much happening up stairs I don't think - very 'slow' and wearing a skirt with hairy legs - just wasn't the right thing to be wearing. I won't be going back there for food.

Called in here with my wife on a visit to Aberystwyth primarily to watch a football match with another couple of friends.Our friends had already eaten but we were hungry and decided to eat. Upon ordering we were told that they had run out of chips!! Surely one of the many local super.arkets would have had chips to keep them going for the last hour as it wasn't that busy there. We asked for salad instead which was fine. We were then told that the onion rings had also finished and offered calamari rings as an alternative!!!! (hardly the same is it?) I chose the loaded burger and my wife had the piri piri chicken burger withvtge salad and calamari rings. The food took about 20 minutes to arrive and whilst my burger was ok my wife's was tasty BUT very very spicy!!! Maybe a warning on the menu is needed?.It is a shame thatvthis bar/eating house is not run properly as the place is lovely and clean inside with a quite acceptable menu.A bit of work needed i think!

Nice and clean bar so called in here for lunch today. Brains menu looked fine. We ordered and after 45mins I asked where food was. Waitress unsure at first, then apologetic. We waited another 20 mins for burgers and chips which were just that. Plain burger on bun with chips. Not the advertised ones with coleslaw, onion, salad etc. Wish we'd gone to Spartacus for a baguette instead!!! Looking at reviews on here, our experience is normal!!! Avoid!

Lovely place but ordered 2 steak dishes. On a whole they were nice. I rate it poor purely because they ran out of onion rings and decided calamari rings were acceptable without telling us until i asked why we had them on our steaks. Anyone who is allergic to fish etc could have died! Common sense would be not to put anything on and tell us when we ordered!

Suprised by the bad reviews called in on a sat lunch time. very clean and tidy, staff very pleasant. My daughter and I had the chicken tikka rice and mango chutney with a side of chips( only 50p!!) and mini naan (70p) it was delicious not to creamy and plenty of flavour and plenty off it. My son had the burger and chips which looked equally nice .daughter pinched a bite and said the burger was homemade and very tasty. Hubbie had pie mash and veg . I would say the veg looked dry as if kept warm or reheated but hubbie said it did the job and filled him up! About a half hour wait, son was just starting to get fidgety especially as a large very rowdy stag group had joined us to which both members of staff came over to appologise for them!! Would eat there again.

Called in with some friends much better than it was, its had a face lift well worth it. Its clean fresh an much nicer.

Me and a friend went for lunch here yesterday as from the outside, the place looked lovely after their re opening. although the place was fairly quiet the waitress didn't seem to have a clue what was going on and was also rude, we ordered food and it did arrive pretty quickly, but what a disappointment. My friend had the garlic mushroom starter which can only be described as tinned mushroom soup with a few chopped up mushrooms in it and the side salad that came with it was perished. I had a burger, very stingy on the chips, onion rings not cooked properly, the mayonnaise in the cowslow was yellow and as for the burger which I also found a hair in, I have had better burgers from a burger van. Overall very disappointing and will definitely not be returning here.

Had a couple of meals here with my family, food and service was good but was let down a little by the fact they kept running out of things.

Looks a nice place on the outside but the food was terrible. Ordered a lasagne it came out frozen in the middle. Bad experience overall. Won't be coming back again

My partner and I thought the reopening was a nice change, it looked nice inside and out so we decided to give it go, we invited a friend of ours to come with us too. After a 45 minute wait for the meals, which didn't come together, and the pumpkin in my Tagine was still slightly frozen which was ridiculous especially after all the waiting. The servers were lovely and accommodating, very apologetic but the manager never came out even though we asked to see her. All in all will not be returning.

Arrived at 8pm with family (5 adults) on graduation day. Pub food recommended by son who had just graduated. Good tasty food including 2 steaks cooked appropriately (always a sign of a quality kitchen). Service was pleasant and efficient with staff polite. I would definitely return here in the future.

Just went there for a late lunch with the family (2 adults, 4 children). Really, really, really disappointed. 1stly the kids meals cost the same as other places but there are no kids drinks included. In fact, there are no kids drinks as such at all. I ended up having to buy mine J2Os, which made it even more expensive. Then when the food eventually arrived (my husband and I having ordered the mixed grill), the steak was like rubber and the pork chop was like leather, the chicken breast and gammon were ok but over all we were not impressed. In hindsight we should have not bothered with Lord Beechings and gone to Weatherspoons instead. Definitely would not recommend.

Went here for a meal with my dad today, thoroughly enjoyed the food and the lager was cheap which was nice to see. Liked the decor after the refurbishment as well. Ordered one fish and chips and one scampi and chips which did take a while to come, but overall enjoyed the food and will likely be coming back.

What a disappointment . The decor is bland and boring. The staff don't have a clue what they are doing and the food is appalling . All in all a disaster.

Went in to day with a good few m8s for the reopening . We as a group where made not to feel welcome . Management watching everything we where doing and saying. Such a shame was best pup in town before it was done out shame they didn't ask the locals on there thought . Shame staff have changed as the old staff where the best and always made you welcome now its to like an other wetherspoons

Normally love this place, great place for a drink and normally food. Today, fair enough, match day (Wales v England) it was busy but not too much on food from what I could see. 4 of us ordered food one after the other, 2 meals were brought and finished before 2 meals even arrived. Asked a waitress for our meals, said she would check. She didn't come back and let us know what was going on. 15 minutes later, asked what was going on, was told it was a "technical error" after going up to the bar. Left it another 20 minutes and went to ask again. Was told "I've already had one of you come up and ask" and I responded with asking for a refund. Got the refund for the food and with no apology. Asked to speak to the manager and he was very apologetic, thankfully. He explained what had happened (the food ticket had fallen behind the machine) and gave us a refund for our drinks as well and said he would have a word with the staff. Overall waited an hour for our food and awful attitude from the staff. I normally love this place for food but after today, I won't be returning for food. My friend has also had 3 bad experiences with this place with bad food (steak being over cooked and gristley) and long waits on food, as well as having to pay extra for a meal deal that apparently no longer runs although it's on the menu. Rated 2 because I do love this place for drinks such as cocktails and shots but the experience today was not something I want to have again.

I have come in here a few times in recent years, although never late on a Friday or Saturday night. It is a bit odd, supposedly owned by Brains but does not sell any of their excellent real ales. I always get a seat. The staff are friendly. It feels more like sitting in a coffee bar than a pub.

We went to Lord Beechings for a family meal and we were thoroughly impressed with the quality, quantity and choice on the menu. I had Cajun chicken burger which was nice and tasty, and quite spicy but was very nice, my wife had lasagne which she said was very nice and my daughter had a Gammon & chips which she said was great. We will definitely call again and highly recommend it .

Came here for a meal with a colleague. We had a very tasty meal and the portions were very generous. The price was very good too Will definitely be back

Had lunch in pub. Traditional fayre but very tasty. Good range of beers. Live footie on if you like that. Very friendly staff. Really enjoyed it.

Came to give the place a try, nice traditional pub, very good food. Much interesting railway memorabilia as well. Friendly staff. Will visit again.

While working local to this pub for a few months on a few occasions we had dinner here, on all visits the food was tasteless and very poorly presented.The menu looks great but when you dive in,all the meals my workmates and I had were very poor( especially the steak)

In the day, it's a great local pub and on first approach may seem like it serves pints but it's definitely worth going to for food. The quality is better and fresher than most pub grub out and the portions and well worth the value - especially the hangover cure breakfast. In the evenings it gets a bit livelier when the students are around and the 2 for 1 cocktails always prove popular.

As students, my friends and I would often darken Lord Beechings door after a heavy night out and they never disappointed. They offer the standard pub fare but they also offer a huge challenge burger called the Hulk Burger, and "buckets" of food which are truly amazing for a hangover. For pub food it is really rather good. And they offer amazing 2 4 1 cocktails in the evening!

Family friendly pub that serves quality pub food for good value, not expensive. And then during late evening to very late it's a great atmosphere to drink in and have fun.

We went here for a quick bite to each while visiting the town and I initally had low expectations for this place as it seemed like a blokes pub rather than a family pub. As soon as we placed our order the food arrived in a suitable time and the waitress was polite.The food itself was good and the Burger was lovely and I was full up after eating it.The bathrooms could do with an update but no many places seem to spend money on keeping their bathrooms updated.i would come here again if I was in town. The prices were very reasonable and the menu was very nicely designed.

Come here for a steak quite regularly and its always cooked to perfection! Always 2 4 1 for cocktails too which is fab
