The best restaurants serving American food in East of England

Burger bun stale. Garlic bread stale. Pizza poor (just like it came from the supermarket frozen section). Server not really bothered when I reported this. Won’t return.

We recently dined at Hucks during our stay at Center Parcs on 12th August and unfortunately, the experience was far from what I expected. Having visited Hucks multiple times in the past, we were looking forward to another enjoyable meal, but our evening was marred by poor service and a complete lack of professionalism. Upon arrival, we requested to be seated in a booth. However, the staff member at the entrance hesitated, before reluctantly agreeing giving unclear reasons while warning us that service might be slower. We accepted this but It was no big deal not sitting there, it was just a request as we normally sit there. To our surprise, a woman who seemed to be the assistant manager approached the staff member we had spoken to, completely ignored us, and rudely shook her head, indicating that our request was denied—without a word to us or looking in the eye or even a basic acknowledgment. This behavior was not only unprofessional but outright disrespectful. Had she politely explained the situation, we would have understood, as it was no big deal but to be dismissed so rudely was unacceptable. She works in hospitality as a manager, you would expect she would have at least the decency to act polite and with professionalism! It was truly shocking how she behaved. It got worse from there - When our food finally arrived, it was cold, and not once were we asked if we wanted something else or if everything was okay. We had to repeatedly flag down the staff just to get water, which only added to our frustration. The waitress who left the food at the table couldn’t leave fast enough- I couldn’t even ask her for another drink, she just walked off. By the time we received the bill, I had decided to address the poor service. I politely requested the service charge be removed, and the waitress totally agreed with me without hesitation and said ‘sorry I was given a huge table next to yours and couldn’t attend to you”. And that the food was cold. The manager then came over, apologised, and offered to take ‘half off one meal’ as compensation. While I appreciated the gesture, it did little to rectify the overall negative experience. This manager was very apologetic and seemed nice. We won’t be returning to Hucks which is a shame because in the past we enjoyed our meals there. Such an unprofessional and rude service even once is just unacceptable. People come in happy mood with their families on a break to center parcs and the last thing they need is disrespectful service ruining everyone’s mood.

Incompetent waiter first took our order. Young Asian gentleman wearing glasses. Messed up the drinks order and the food order completely. Tried arguing over the fact I wanted to order a small portion of Mac and cheese for my elderly grandmother and said that we couldn’t. Had to have one dish re cooked as it was completely wrong.

Place your order on the Wetherspoons app and receive a short measure of beer delivered to your table. Disappointing. ..

I have never encountered such rude customer service in 10 years. I paid for the delivery of my order, the driver called and said that he would not be going to the door and that I should come to his car to collect my order. I said that I was outside and he was not there. After a while I got a notification that my order had been delivered. I called Ace chicken straight away. They said that they did not care because it was not their driver but from Just Eat and that I should leave them alone and not bother them and if I wanted to I should order again.

This was our second and last time going to Chicktopia. The first time was just after they opened and there were some service issues, but the food was good and so I forgave the teething problems. I regret my forgiveness. Today we ordered from the machines, which were clearly malfunctioning, but with no explanation we ploughed on. The only person serving (remember this was a busy Saturday lunchtime!) was young and certainly not well-trained in dealing with the public. When the machines failed to register our order (and everyone else ordering at the same time) he resorted to taking a photo of the order and taking that through to the kitchen. All this without a word to us, let alone an apology. We waited over 20 minutes for the food, with more and more people gathering behind us. In all this time no staff offered any welcome to people arriving or apologies to those waiting. When I asked the 'manager' what was going on and asked him to explain things to us he just said 'it's all fine now'. I understand a computer malfunction, I do not understand the lack of communication. I had plenty of time to write an email of complaint to the company as none of the staff were talking to me. When we finally got the order it was missing the sandwich. I felt so frustrated. When I went back to query it I had to wait another 15 minutes. Again no apology, no explanation. Since coming home and reading the previous reviews I have realised we didn't receive our sides (Texas toast and Louisiana biscuit). It's such a pity - the food is decent, but the staff are so poorly trained. There is no way I could recommend it, or return myself.

Really good food with attentive staff. Nice atmosphere. Anastasia and Emanuela were both excellent.

Just ordered a burger from this mcdonald’s, took a few bites and found a sheet of paper through the middle. I am disgusted and feel sick.

With lots of places closing early during our stay we were only left with a few options this being one of them so if you’re after a late night meal this is the place. Our order was taken quickly and served up quickly too. It was tasty. The restaurant itself however is not a pleasant environment. It’s a bit like a barren school dinner hall and not pleasant at all. Make the restaurant a bit more comfortable and this would be great!

Hadn't been in a Starbucks for a while. We won't be returning. For those who are not regulars, it is not clear where to order. £9+ for two small coffees 😳 (albeit non standard). Is the straw meant to pierce the plastic drinks covering? It doesn't! The toilet was not clean. There was unmentionable brown stuff around the rim. This branch is not a good advert for Starbucks.

The food was reasonable, the staff very friendly although not that attentive. Disappointed with vegetarian options very limited and then two of them were unavailable. We were two couples, grandparents and grandchildren, eating before a show. The food no better than ‘pub-grub’, chicken burger very dry, other food passable, drinks ordinary. Would possibly go again, if going to a show, but their are many other eateries within walking distance or short drive, so it would be dependant on the weather. We booked and were surprised how few people were in there, further: trying to book a table is very difficult, so I certainly would not bother going through that drama again.

Pleasant service. This is my 3rd time visit in the shop and I have always been served best quality food in any subway ever. Highly positive staff and always cleaning and hygiene on top. Reasonable rates and near to my university this is a must recommend I was served by highly talented Hemak

Was really looking forward to going out for lunch with my friends celebrating, ordered the bacon sand which came out unbelievably salty could not eat it, it didn’t state on the Menu if it was smoked or unsmoked, they didn’t even offer to take it back or a refund, rude manger made us pay full price when we didn’t even touch our food. Would not recommend

Went in November And there was no heating on!! Ridiculous. Didn't hang about and won't go back till they put it on
