Huck's American Bar and Grill in Central Bedfordshire

I hate complaining but the food here was really disappointing, we ordered 2 burgers and both were extremely tasteless/dry and never even had any salad in the burgers, the burger buns tasted stale as if the bread had been left out and gone hard, my son had a kids meal that was extremely cold, did not appear to be cooked fresh, Mustard on the table was gone off when I poured it it was extremely watery when I checked the date it was out of date! Charging high restaurant prices with extremely low quality, I would give zero stars for food but gave 2 stars as my son enjoyed the soft play area but safe to say we wouldn't return to this restaurant.

We visited Huck’s during our stay at Center Parcs. Firstly, our waitress was amazing. Super friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean and the kids play area made our 8 year old very happy. The food was as you’d expect for an American bar and grill. I would say that the Caesar salad was hugely over priced. £11 for some lettuce, croutons, and dressing. You had to pay an extra £3 for chicken. But this was the way of things everywhere at Center Parcs. Despite the cost all the food except the desert was lovely. The one bad point was the speed at which the food came out. We sat down at 7:30 and didn’t leave until gone 10 as it was so slow. Our poor waitress was run off her feet but even so she chased down our orders every time she walked past and saw we hadn’t received our food or drinks. She was clearly getting very frustrated with the other staff who were hanging around chatting instead of doing their jobs. We would go here again but only because the waitress was so amazing.

after enjoying a lovely meal at the Foresters the previous night was looking forward to another good meal here . How disappointed were we !! . The burgers and buns were so dry ,some of the burgers burgers were overcooked , the sweet came in two separate deliveries , half our family had almost finished when the rest turned up . We recently dined at Hucks during our stay at Center Parcs on 12th August and unfortunately, the experience was far from what I expected. Having visited Hucks multiple times in the past, we were looking forward to another enjoyable meal, but our evening was marred by poor service and a complete lack of professionalism. Upon arrival, we requested to be seated in a booth. However, the staff member at the entrance hesitated, before reluctantly agreeing giving unclear reasons while warning us that service might be slower. We accepted this but It was no big deal not sitting there, it was just a request as we normally sit there. To our surprise, a woman who seemed to be the assistant manager approached the staff member we had spoken to, completely ignored us, and rudely shook her head, indicating that our request was denied—without a word to us or looking in the eye or even a basic acknowledgment. This behavior was not only unprofessional but outright disrespectful. Had she politely explained the situation, we would have understood, as it was no big deal but to be dismissed so rudely was unacceptable. She works in hospitality as a manager, you would expect she would have at least the decency to act polite and with professionalism! It was truly shocking how she behaved. It got worse from there - When our food finally arrived, it was cold, and not once were we asked if we wanted something else or if everything was okay. We had to repeatedly flag down the staff just to get water, which only added to our frustration. The waitress who left the food at the table couldn’t leave fast enough- I couldn’t even ask her for another drink, she just walked off. By the time we received the bill, I had decided to address the poor service. I politely requested the service charge be removed, and the waitress totally agreed with me without hesitation and said ‘sorry I was given a huge table next to yours and couldn’t attend to you”. And that the food was cold. The manager then came over, apologised, and offered to take ‘half off one meal’ as compensation. While I appreciated the gesture, it did little to rectify the overall negative experience. This manager was very apologetic and seemed nice. We won’t be returning to Hucks which is a shame because in the past we enjoyed our meals there. Such an unprofessional and rude service even once is just unacceptable. People come in happy mood with their families on a break to center parcs and the last thing they need is disrespectful service ruining everyone’s mood.

I’ve been here previously and had high hopes but was really disappointed. Not usually one to complain however the service in here compared to the rest of centre parcs was shocking. The place was fairly empty however there was a lot of staff, we waited a long time just to order a drink then receive our drink and waiting for the bill took ages. The staff were just standing around or walking past and we were completely ignored. I don’t mind paying for expensive food if it’s good, my Mac and cheese was cold and for 18 pounds is not good enough. Would not recommend there are lots of other amazing restaurants including Cafe Rouge and the Curry restaurant!

Food was good not amazing. I can't moan about any of the dishes being bad and none of which where sent back. Just overall not a great meal. The most positive part was our server Cam! He was excellent!

Outstanding service from an employee called fin, was very busy so struggled to see the name. Nonetheless extremely friendly and helpful.

Avoid Hucks, Low quality food and over priced. Took a family of 4. Kids ordered milkshakes that were like water , the tap water had more flavour. The burgers were dry and hard to chew. The fries where over spiced and need a few drinks after eating them to stop the thirst. Never come back again!!!

Been here before but we used restaurant runner this time as we wanted to stay in. Food arrived from different restaurants bang on time and was excellent. A bacon and cheese burger with sweet potato fries served enough for leftovers the next day. Could do with more pickles in the burger, but otherwise, top service 👌

Went here on our last night as family treat, what a disappointment. I had a cold overdone chilli burger and fries, the rest of the family all had different things and none of them looked great. Wasn't expecting Michelin star quality, but when you spend over £120 on a meal for 4, you expect a half decent meal. Definitely never going back.

The menu isn't as good as it used to be in Hucks. There didn't seem to be that nuch choice although the food was OK. The prices are ridiculous for what it is though and I'd think twice before going again.

The food here lets the whole of the Centre Parcs Woburn experience down massively, they've recently changed food supplier but even that doesn't excuse some of it, it's frankly awful and combine that with extortionate prices, forced 7.5% service charge and it turns this once great location to a MUST AVOID location. Our £86 bill (for 2 adults and 2 kids only having mains) thankfully was quickly knocked down to £42 but even that I felt rather cheated with. The menu makes it all sound very exciting but the reality is way off! Mac and Cheese was basically just plain pasta with stringy cheese, my 5 year old son could have likely cooked better. The 'Ultimate bacon cheeseburger' is actually a cheap tasteless burger with 2 bits of dry bacon, a cheap bun and a slab of processed cheese on top... £3 extra for garlic fries... which were just normal fries with an oil or butter on it (no visible sign of any butter). The BBQ Cauliflower Bites were hard and overcooked. The Brocolii was undercooked. The Beer is £7.50 a pint! Sadly all food at Centre Parcs Woburn should all be avoided in our experience until they decide to stop putting profit before guest enjoyment and actually start serving decent food at reasonable prices. Centre Parcs need to seriously reconsider their offerings as people won't return. The soft play is also tatty and needs to be refreshed.

Always have a meal out at Hucks dinner when at Centre parcs. This was my first time at the Woburn one and did leave a little disappointed. The chicken fajitas was a little dry and not how I've had it before. The staff were friendly but we had a few mistakes.

If you want miserable staff who look like they have recently finished school, faces like they don’t want to be there and can’t even force a smile at customers, with the vibe of a morgue then this is your place to go! Took them 15-20 minutes to take a drinks order for two of us at a table booked for 5:30pm, then another 10-15 mins to come and take food order. When starters came out, we had nachos and garlic bread sharer and asked for an extra two side plates to split portions out, we were then gifted two plates that were dirty and had remnants of food smothered underneath the top one! Food was basic, small portion sizes, very oily truffled fries, basically flooded in the stuff. My ribs almost had a wiff of microwave about them as though they had been cooked in those plastic microwaveable pouches. Waitress didn’t even smile when she took my money, came over with the card reader already with the amount and said “just tap here” and that was it. Overall if I could give it 0 stars I would but unfortunately 1 is too generous.

Coffee was freezing cold and my steak had to be sent back because it was like leather! My son was still hungry after eating because the portions were so small. We won’t be eating here again, ever!

Had a good time last night dining at Hucks. Staff are friendly and attentive, food is as you would expect for an American Diner. Good atmosphere - everything you want really for an easy and fast evening of dining

Poor service from the get go! Upon entering we had to wait for the girls to stop chatting about their weekend before even being acknowledged. After finally getting a table and waiting a long time for our food … it was cold! No apologies. Much better restaurants in this park so will not be returning here again.

Food was great and very vegan and allergen friendly. Lia was amazing- fabulous customer service. Great gluten free options too. Only suggestion would be to please add a gluten free burger that is vegan.

One of the worst experiences that I have ever had. The food was OK but the service and organisation of the restaurant had a lot to be desired. From the very start on arriving and having to wait to be seated, even though booked and being told the waitress would not start until 5pm. After an hour only the starters had arrived and the table was not cleared until we requested it. The main course was good and to expectations but again the service was atrocious, with the plates left 15 minutes after being we had finished, even though we had requested them to be cleared away and dessert menus. 10 minutes later even though our waitress walked by nothing was done. In the end we gave up and left without ordering the final course. An experience not to be repeated which is a shame as the food was let down by the disorganisation of management and service staff

Hucks is a shadow of the restaurant it once was. Our waitress couldn’t be bothered to clear any empty glasses or finished plates of food from our table, so they were left there even after we had paid the bill. The portion sizes are a joke. £17 for half a chicken breast for the fajita, with some tiny wraps and lacklustre fried veg and sides. To add insult to injury, they add 7.5% service charge irrespective of if you’re a table of 2 or 20, which gives the waiting staff zero incentive to do a good job, because they know nobody will request the charge to be removed. Best thing they can do is close Hucks and give the site to someone who cares about customer service standards.

Mediocre quality, slow service (even thoug it was a week before school breaks up and was quite quiet) but the portion sizes were ridiculous. £7.50 for the crispy potato skin starter which consisted of two tiny potato skins which must have been made from new potatoes - literally two bites! (They were very nice though!). Mac n cheese main was basically pasta, no cheese sauce and was a tiny portion suitable for a kid for almost 16 quid! Chicken fajitas for 17 quid must’ve had half a chicken breast on it and nowhere near enough sides to make a decent fajita. I would avoid this place - 3 of us with starters, mains and drinks almost £100 and left as hungry as I came!!

We booked a table for 5.30pm on Tuesday 7th March 2023 and paid the required £5 per person deposit. We were 5 adults dining with an eight month old child. The restaurant lacked any atmosphere. The waitress had to be asked after 15mins to take our drinks order. The food took almost an hour to arrive, this was after asking another waitress if there was an issue in the kitchen as our waitress seemed unable to come near our table or indeed make eye contact during the wait. The food was mediocre to say the least. An automatic service charge was added to the bill which we really did not feel was justified given our experience but we just wanted to get out the place with a tired baby by this point so paid it. On leaving we looked into the kitchen and observed a yellow chopping board (cooked meat usage) filthy with a red substance having some stilton cheese cut on it!) I would highly recommend avoiding this restaurant during your stay.

8 of us thoroughly enjoyed it! Great service and lovely food! It was our twins 21st birthday and they even gave them a free dessert with “happy 21st birthday” written on the plate which was a nice touch

Centre Parcs Woburn restaurant. We’d had a terrible experience the evening before at Cafe Rouge and nearly cancelled Huck’s as a result but the teenagers wanted to go. We had nachos, loaded potato skins and burnt ends for starters and we were all delighted with our food. For mains we had chicken fajitas, ribs and a burger and again, the food was great. We had excellent service and a meal for 4 was decent value. Thank goodness we had a great last night. A good way to end our holiday.

We had booked a large table for 15 and got in at 16:00 to beat the rush. When we arrived there was only one other table full. The waitress was friendly although lacking in speed taking orders. Drinks took over 20 minutes to finally arrive. Starters followed another 25 minutes after that and after having to chase them up. They were nothing special, with £7s worth of potato skins being two frozen small skins - about 2”s in diameter. We addressed this with the waitress who admitted they used to serve 3 for the same money. Main took over 45 minutes to also arrive, again after requesting details of where it was. Eventually we requested the Manager, who eventually came to our table to tell us the restaurant was busy (did he not expect it to be) and 45 mins+ didn’t seem overly long between courses! When the food arrived it was as suspected overpriced junk. Two meals went back. They were replaced as the clock clicked closer to 2 hours in the restaurant… by then we were nearly storming out, late for the activities we had planned, and had no interest in “fresh” burger. After some heated discussion about how frankly terrible everything was we were offered a discount, paid, never to return! Go to any of the other restaurants as they cannot be as bad, or go see the great staff in the main bar who are extremely capable in supplying quick service and decent food for a busy bar. AVOID HUCKS.

This is one of the worst meals I have eaten for a while. The food was tasteless, cold, inedible. This was the case for all our party of 6. It was a complete waste of money. Do not visit this place under any circumstances ! (by the way, other food options at this Center Parcs are much better: Amafi, Las Iguanas were both good)

Dining during the pandemic means the soft play facility is closed, all this does is really highlight how absolutely terrible the food is here. Service was swift and organised, that’s about as positive as I can be. This is meant to be an American style restaurant specializing in burgers. All the food feels pre made and warmed up, the ingredients are definitely low quality. The meat patties were terrible. Rubbish portion of fries and the kids pasta meals I’m confident I could have done a better job blindfolded. Honestly I’d place it straight in the dogs bowl rather than take my kids there to eat again just not to be wasteful. The cocktails have very little alcohol and are pure sugar. I’m not sure why this restaurant is so popular, it must be the dump your kids off to play factor. But with Amalfi having recently opened it really just shows up how poor quality this place is.

Visited as a family as our last night meal on holiday. Was quite disappointing. Chicken wings were ok, but I had ribs as a main, which were cold. They were replaced with hot ones and fresh fries when I told somebody and charged at half price. My mum's salmon was dry and my sons chicken burger was a piece of dry chicken plain in a plain bun. We also had to wait a while to get people's attention despite there being lots of staff working. It was ok, not great.

It’s more a crèche than a restaurant and I’ve you’ve got kids aged 1 or below then it’s ideal. Service is beyond slow and waited an hour before our starters arrived. Nachos were poor and hardly any cheese. It’s unfathomable how an American Diner can get these so round. Wine list very limited too. Service was non existent and waiting staff looked bored. Place needs a huge overhaul. Not fitting for a Center Parcs.

Me, my partner and daughter booked a table for 6pm on our 1st night at centre Parcs, the restaurant is very smart and lots of room. We found our waiter james very good and attentive but then the issues started to surface. The menu isn’t brilliant hardly any starters. We went straight to the mains and had two smokehouse platters and a portion of onion rings, it took ages to come and when it did we was missing pickles and dips and the platter was very average, It’s also very expensive for the quality of the food. We found the food in the sports bar at the plaza better quality, cheaper and much better service.

We had a meal for the extended family which included three children. The children from three to seven enjoyed the soft play and the buffet for kids. The choice of menu for adults was quite wide but less good for vegetarians. The meal that I chose was rather lacking in texture but tasted oK. The food was midnprce. Service was good at the start of the evening but tailed off. It took awhile to get the ice cream course for the children when we were waiting to leave as no adults wanted dessert. OK food but not great. The table did need to be booked before we went on holiday in order to be sure we could eat out together as there were nine of us.

I’m shocked to see so many poor reviews. The menu at Huck’s is excellent and caters for all the family. We went as a couple and had a spinach and cheese dip (with nachos) to start and then the mac and cheese/ mac and cheese with pork for main. All the food was delicious and the portions were generous. I also had a coke float, which was very tasty and a real treat. The restaurant was pleasant to eat in and I enjoyed having Home Alone on in the background; I imagine this would go down great with kids!

Visited for evening meal just after arriving at Center Parcs. Waiting staff were good and food was fair to good but overall it can only be described as alright. Biggest disappointment was the amount of food strewn around the floor both on tables in use and those empty - not good at 7pm.

Wish I’d read the reviews too before eating here. Visited Hucks in Centre Parcs last year and really enjoyed it so didn’t think to check the reviews before booking a table this year. What a mistake. Although we’d booked a table it wasn’t ready when we arrived, we waited 20 mins and then asked for drinks and our food order to be taken. There were loads of tables that needed clearing and lots of food over the floor. Lots of staff but they didn’t appear to be very efficient as lots of tables we’re waiting to be cleared and for orders to be taken. Our food actually came quite quickly but then I wished it hadn’t as I found the worlds longest hair in the first (one and only) mouthful of burger. The staff were very apologetic when I complained and handed the hair & burger back and they gave me some money off but I have to say it put everyone off and I certainly won’t be returning or recommending Hucks to anyone.

Wish I had read the reviews before visiting. The food is poor quality, chewy chicken, some of the food was served cold - poor quality food. The service was absent we had to ask to order, never saw a waitress were sat with our mains finished for 20+ minutes and started to put our coats on as a signal to get a bill. I was tempted to only pay half the bill it was that bad but didn’t wasn’t a scene with the family. This is also one of the most expensive restaurants on the centre parcs site which is what makes this ridiculous. My read is this - stick with the chains ie rouge, las iguanas and strada. Cheaper, much much better, proper service and food is good quality. We had excellent meals at las iguanas and rouge I wish I had eaten at them on our final night. Will never visit hucks again.

I should have read the earlier Decembers review of the Smokehouse Platter as I wouldn’t have bothered ordering.

Whilst writing this review I can't help but see the negative posts on the right hand side and I'm just glad that we didn't have that kind of experience, it being my father-in-laws birthday and all.

Was feeling hungry so went for the Smoke House Platter at the price of £19.99. I couldn't hide my disappoint when it arrived and saw the size and quality of it and seeing the other meals ordered to our table that were cheaper yet twice the portion. Thin processed turkey at best with a couple of ribs and a few stings of beef, probably more corn sponge cake than meat all in all. You will be disappointed.

We booked a table for 6 adults and 2 young children on a Saturday night for 4.30pm. It wasn't too busy to start with, but even then the service was slow. It was a special birthday/xmas family get together meal. One of the starters we ordered was the Kickin Hot Wings. They arrived without the Blue Cheese Sauce. When we asked where it was, we were told they had ran out. At 4.30pm on a Saturday afternoon???? We were given a Sourcream dip, but it wasn't the same.

Food was awful and cold. Service wasn’t great. Would expect a lot more considering you cant really leave Center Parcs to eat. They also got our bill wrong. Not impressed, wont be back.

Excellent vegan food. We had the chilli and the fajitas. The only thing not substituted for a vegan alternative is the sour cream but you don’t miss it. Delicious. Staff really helpful too! Next time we’d come here for more than one meal!

Food at Centreparcs has always been poor quality I’m afraid. We’ve been going for over twenty years and in the main self cater to ensure we avoid their offerings.

I don't expect a place at CP to be authentic American diner food - but this was terrible. Wings were cold, burger wasn't as good as a cheap school canteen, and my wife's chili bowl was cold. Plenty of decent options in CP like Cafe Rouge, Strada, Las Iguanas etc - so avoid this place.

Visited early evening. Had booked on line and paid deposit. Atmosphere good. Very clean. Kids buffet menu and soft play area a god send. Fabulous food. Hot, tasty and well presented. Staff extremely polite and helpful. Just keep an eye on the bill. Our deposit of £35 was accidentally logged as£0.35p and a few other parties were at the tills with bill disputes. Other then that a really good family evening out

Extremely limited menu, service is awful, massively overpriced. And even then, things will have “run out”. Go to strada instead.

Had lunch here whilst staying at Center Parcs. Service was very good and quick. Staff professional and attentive - they do table service or bar service. Food was of a good sized portion too. Would highly recommend the soup or club sandwich. If you order a sandwich and between 12 and 5, this also comes with a free bowl of chips. Would recommend this place when staying at Center Parcs.

Hucks is located at centre parcs in Woburn it gets busy so it’s advised to book and you have to put down a deposit, all fine. The building is big and the interior is in keeping with the theme, clean and well laid out. The menu is ok and what you would expect from an American diner. The kids buffet is great and makes dinner more enjoyable for them, there is a soft play and during the day a great outdoor wooden playground to keep them entertained, there are Macs with access to games for the older kids and films showing on projectors above the tables so all in all well equipped to entertain the younger ones in the party. My issues arose with the food, I had the ribs they were ok, the burgers were shocking and I wouldn’t recommended and all the food was warm at best, the table behind us sent all of their food back...never a good sign. The service was friendly but a little ‘busy’ as in had to ask for everything and we ordered drinks that didn’t come. All in all a bit disappointing considering the heightened prices
