McDonald's in Central Bedfordshire

Almost every time something is missing from my take away order. Today 2 large fries :)

A easily reachable drive thru restaurent. It offer both eat in, take out, or drive thru options for food orders. The menu carrys the usual favourites as well as new additions.

Old, cold and dry fries, ordered to the table - no way, they are to lazy to bring food to you. Lazy staff on night shift. Always you have to nake sure that you receive ordered dips.

The worst. Cold food . Orders wrong. Customers are wrong

Sadly no improvement at this location. The wait is so long the food has become cold. Managers need to reduce staff talk and arguing and focus on the customers who pay their salary. Long wait and not even busy at 8am on a Saturday! !!

It's McDonald's.... its magical

They do not put sugar on take away...they do not put stirers...poor service

Not impressed with service, every time I visit there is something missing in order. Been charged twice on few occasions and managers didn't bother to resolve the issue, had to contact McDonald's head office to get refund.

Probably the worst McD's I have ever been to. 1130 at night, ordered at the drive thru then waited for 15 minutes while no-one moved. The first window was locked. Queued some more. Finally got to the kiosk to be handed someone else's order and to be told I needed to drive round and wait again cos they only take payment at the locked window. Or I could give them my card for them to take away. I gave up. What a waste of time. Drive thru is supposed to be quick and efficient. Not here.

Better atmosphere than most with good seating. Ordering on machines or via one counter, it feels a bit cramped in the ordering / waiting area when busy but they are restricted by size of building. Efficient, good quality food, nice people. table ordering is available and works well. Drive thru - often very busy, but moves well most of the time. Never had problems with the order. Delivery - better than most, occasionally wrong but not as bad as others. Car park - insane. It's tight and not big enough spaces or lanes for today's larger cars. People don't pay attention. So many collisions and near misses. You will see at least one every visit. Bidirectional lanes on both sides, stupidly tight corners, mountainous speed humps and the drive thru make it a challenging place to visit.

You have to be careful not to miss the entrance, there are always a lot of people.

I came in late after 2 am from work looking for a small meal. i was approached by what looked like a manager and he asked to wait one minute. this was horrifying!!!!! i was scared he was very big but i got my food and it tasted lile cardboard. i asked for no cheese in my cheeseburger and they still gave cheese. i am not happy

I ordered 3 meals, 2 x burgers & 2 apple pies. I checked the bag whilst at the counter and there was only 1 fries. I told the server and he added the other 2. I thought the 2 apple pies were in the bag, but we got home and no apple pies. Very disappointing. We paid for the food and didn’t receive what we ordered. Very bad service. The staff need to double check the orders before handing it to the client.

I wish the food was as it is in the posters. More often than not, it's a very flat horrid looking big mac.

Clean and quick service. Easy stop off on our way to the safari

The tea and coffee is never hot enough. I don't have this problem at other McDs.

McDonald's and crackheads food / entertainment

A little bit disappointed with the Dunstable branch I had ordered my food in the restaurant but by the time I had walked back to my car the McCrispy was warmish and way too much Lettuce and some of the chips were not cooked properly

Mc Donald’s need to learn how to practice proper hygiene and cook their chicken properly I got a stomach bug from what I ate from md it was the last thing I woke in the middle of the night with terrible pains and constantly vomiting. Start wearing gloves and washing your hand to prevent food contamination.

Last few visits had good service and plenty of stock. Several previous visits in 2023 had seen very slow service (up to 20 minutes), products unavailable and cold food Hopefully this is now past.

McDonald's was very busy when I visited, so we had a 15 minute wait for the food to be cooked, even then the food was luke warm when it arrived. The staff were polite and friendly. Today we tried the new chicken and bacon burger which was delicious, it's just a shame the fries were cold but at least they weren't shy when it came to our Mcflurries , which makes a change, you usually only get half a Mcflurry. The only real problem with Dunstable McDonald's is the layby where you are supposed to wait for your order, there is only room for 2 vehicles, any more than this and you block the exit, bringing the drive thru to a stand still, which in turn causes chaos and arguments. Top tip, always check the Mcbroken website before you leave home, especially if you want a Mcflurry as the website shows you all the McDonald's in your area that have a working Mcflurry machine, there is nothing worse than getting there to find out the machine is broken:)

Would never go here or order from them. Food cold or got wrong food. Staff don’t seem to care either.

Unbelievable! Tonight I got 2 happy meals for my children , they were looking forward to their toy which should have been shrek and instead ….. they got a Christmas Paddington toy!!! Christmas in March?! Obviously the Mc used the old stuff they got left. Really disappointing.

Fast and kind staff. Very satisfying salad portions!

Difficult to find a good McDonald's this one's alright have to wait for a while but apart from that all good

Drive through Unprofessional staff, very rude behaviour. They missed all my order.

The delivery was great and the food was still warm, but the quality of the food was not great. Additionally, one medium fries was missing and I received the crispy version of The BBQ & Bacon Chicken One instead of the grilled one. This is not the first time that parts of my order have been missing, which is very disappointing.

Cleanliness, everything was ok.

The young staff are so polite and friendly: a credit to HR for hiring such a lovely team.

How did McDonald’s get so bad? It’s no longer fast food. More like 15 to 30 minutes if they’re not too busy. Food often cold.

This isn’t the worst McDonalds but this isn’t the best. They’ve got our orders wrong a few times now and the service is very slow. The drinks machines are quite frequently not working properly (the calibration of the machines either hasn’t been done accurately, or the machines are just on their way out - the tools are failing the restaurant), as the hot and cold drinks ingredients are rarely the right ratios. Staff on occasion have been helpful (some indignant despite blatant errors with our order) and there is a very helpful and friendly guy working there, who is also very efficient. One thing that they have always gotten right, is the side salad 👍🏽. It’s a handy place to pop into for a quick bite but if there’s an error with your order and the service is a bit slow and not always the friendliest (although some staff are nice), then don’t be surprised.

Perfect place to have a meal of your choice.

There hasn’t been a time when i order take away without something missing/wrong from the order; and customer care is more ‘don’t care’ than customer, AWFUL!

I ordered 2 meals from them through UberEats tonight. Chips were half empty as usual, food was cold. This is the usual. But they also forgot to send one out of two burgers. It was not a complicated order. Only 2 meals. It is okay, it can happen. So I sent a message about it. They sent me £1.60 back without any further communication. So they expect I will be hungry all night and cheer up with the £1.60 that I can see in my bank account in a few days. The burger is sold for £5.13. I messaged them back and they sent me a message saying my problem was resolved with the £1.60 they sent and they did not need any more communication about my issue! Lovely customer relations!

Very bad experiences we had there. Last one tonight, we ordered 2 meals and one came without the burger. They issued £1.60 refund for it because it was part of a meal (even though main part and it normally costs £5.13) but worst they told me that issue was solved and I should be happy with my refund. 2 hours later I am still hungry and very angry. Pay for high blood pressure there.

Half the time incorrect order especially if ordering double big Mac for example, of three ordered 2 were normal even though they're in a different box. Usually busy and car park is difficult to manoeuvre around because of drive through.

Went in yesterday 25/01.24 and this was the first time since the refurbishment. I have not been in for a while as I have had to have a lot of surgery on my eyes. No sight in one eye and 30% in the other. They refused to take my order at the counter so I explained I cannot see the menu or the apps to order online but knew what I wanted and had the money to pay. They insisted I go with a staff member to a wall machine that I cannot see where they could charge and order whatever they wanted. A member of the public then said he said he cannot see that menu. Then another member of the public said they took cash from her the day before. This is discrimination as I should not have to explain in front of everybody what my disability is but did and then they want to argue and that includes the manager. Of course I walked out and will never return. I am now considering legal action as where a disability has been identified they should make reasonable adjustment. I do not use a stick or show my disability and once explained that should of been an end of the matter. Legal action is now being considered.

Worse place to go Ordered 5 items spent about £30 and only recived 3 items as they cancelled half my order due to not having milkshakes however we was not contacted about this and was very angry tried to ring 30 times and no answer what a joke

Free burger, chicken and bacon burger, and bought quarter pounder with large fried and chips to share. Table service. Was at the table in 2 minutes.

Seriously! triple cheese burger! Did you roll the meat with a rolling pin! One of my own beefburgers would have been bigger than your 3 burgers. Disappointed is an understatement. Also luke warm.

Delivered breakfast meals . Driver was very nice but food rubbish . Food covered dripping in grease . Both hot chocolate and coffees were only half a cup . Very disappointed

When order was delivered the drinks where half empty. There was no spillage in bag so must of left restaurant like this. The complaint procedure is terrible you get sent in circles until you give up. If you order directly on mcdonalds app the store should take responsibility and. It blame the uber drivers .

Waited in drive thru 30mins, traffic abysmal with no escape route. Food was unsurprisingly not great once we finally got through. Then joined traffic again. They need to sort out the bottlenecks in their road layout.

I accidentally dropped my purse inside the McDonalds shop , whilst waiting by the counter. Left the shop hurriedly with my ordered food as in a rush and did not notice that I have lost my purse until I got home. I went back so very worried but hoping someone found it and brought it to the management, lo and behold, they have it, handed it back to me with all cards and cash still inside. Im soo grateful and relieved, thankful to the staff and manager of such busy shift around 4pm today 22/12/23…My strong faith in humanity and to the wonderful person who picked up my purse and handed it to the counter many thank yous. Wrong food yet again, repeatedly called to resolve issue but did not answer, very poor have no interest in their customers

Seem unable to deliver correctly 3 times now delivery didn't arrive and no they won't refund their error. Disgraceful be warned the delivery service is not to be trusted

Normal McDonald's. OK service, could be better as no one is at the till so if you need someone, you have to grab their attention.

You gave my boyfriend and his little sister food poisoning, as a person that works in the food serving/preparing business. I seriously suggest that you start washing your hands especially if you cough or sneeze into your hands, start wearing gloves and most importantly checking your expiry dates for your meat. They both had cheeseburgers that must have been out of date or undercooked. They have both been violently ill since eating those burgers.

I do not understand what’s so hard about putting food in a bag. We ordered and were missing the main elements of the order. They missed the cheese in the big and cheesy burger as shown in the picture and missed a quarter pounder. We waited longer than usual for the food but it was quiet.

A quarter pounder with cheese meal. Took ages for it to come. By the time it did, it was cold, burnt, put together by someone with their eyes shut. It was also very salty. The same with the fries. Won't go back

I am writing to bring to your attention a highly distressing incident that occurred at your establishment on 4th of December 2023, at LU5 4RU. The behavior exhibited by the manager was not only shockingly rude but also completely unacceptable. Despite being a loyal customer, I was appalled by the utter lack of professionalism displayed.The manager demonstrated a blatant disregard for customer service standards and treated me with a level of disrespect that I find utterly intolerable. I insist on a thorough investigation into this matter and prompt action to address what can only be described as an appalling lapse in managerial conduct. Such behavior is not only damaging to McDonald's reputation but is also a blatant violation of the trust customers place in your brand.

I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration regarding a recent incident at one of your locations. On Monday, 4th of December 2023 at LU5 4RU I encountered a situation that has compelled me to bring it to your attenti The manager exhibited a level of rudeness and disrespect that I did not expect from a reputable establishment like McDonald's. Despite my efforts to address my concerns politely, I was met with dismissive and unprofessional behavior.

Excellent service, we ordered vegetarian food, which was delicious, it was little late their kids play are was closed but still they allowed us to go in and kids enjoyed their, lovely experience as whole staff was very friendly and helpful

Twice I have visited and twice the order was wrong. Now I get they are busy but the staff one in particular was very hostile. If you can chalk up missing items visit.

The food is always good here. Great coffee and very helpful staff. However,  none of this detracts from the fact that the Tories have broken everything. We were there to collect an order placed on the app on 25/11/23 @ around 19.00. For every order that came out to the restaurant or to be collected, at LEAST 2 went to the delivery drivers. Long queues resulted. Not a good situation, and a balance that needs to be addressed asap.

I ordered a delivery and when it arrived it was cold this has happened a few times now so not very impressed, we usually have a large meal and the fries always come half filled , this time I had the chilli bites which have left a not so nice taste in my mouth , going if MC Donald's very fast

We done the click and collect service and we had a girl called Caitlin come and deliver the food to us and she was very rude when we asked for sauces and got asked to see the receipt and because we didn’t have sauces on our receipt she weren’t going to give us any till we question her and said but they are for free aren’t they and in the end she got us them . The wait for ages and food was alright but cold . Caitlin didn’t make this experience very nice for us as this was the first time doing click and collect service .

We didn't get our meal. We drove up to McDonald's driver thru in Dunstable asked if everything was there lady at the window said yes got home and 2 lots of the order was missing. Tried phoning up they just hang up.

Always very slow and always get something wrong. No matter what time of day you get park in the bay

This is a great one to take little kids to as upstairs they have a mini play area for them (aged up to 6) plus some tablets they can play games on. My niece and nephew love coming here. I've also done the drive through and it's really good. Better than the McDonald's that is closest to my house.

Drive thru ... shocking, cold burgers cold fries ,ordered large big tasty with no cheese ,gess what it had cheese .have been going here for years as I am local and it is always a let down .absolutely shocking that it can be called a McDonald's. You Should avoid Dunstable McDonald's, drive to Hockliffe or Leighton buzzard, and save the disappointment and arguments because your other half can't have cheese.

I AM NOT HAPPY! I ordered a happy meal for the cute Halloween squishmallow toy I was EXPECTING to be inside. YET I was scared, horrified, saddened to find a SMURF has replaced my CUTE squishmallow. I am not okay with this and this squishmallow FRAUD!

The food was OK, always a good quick fix. Restaurant was closing and didn't feel very welcoming.

The digital service went down, and after completing my purchase, I had to wait an additional 30 min. I have asked for my order manually and they gave me the wrong order

Rats running around wouldn't mind if I was a the zoo, and staff are as useful as zombies what happened to hard working people, for a big company you would of thought they wouldn't have issues like this

They don't care for the costumers they sent me to the machine that is out of order and nobody was there till I call and wait for them

Hair in the sandwich, burgers were in peaces in the bag...don't go there.

Update: Have returned to this restaurant several times since the original review and am pleased to report both quality and speed of service have improved markedly. Visited Friday evening, it was quite busy as expected, ordered in store with table service, food took noticeably longer than usual to arrive and unfortunately was stone cold and not just the chips, my burger was so cold the cheese hadn't even melted, felt like they had just got some cheese slices straight out of the fridge. Very disappointed as this McDonald's is usually good, hopefully this is just a one off rare miss. At least my frappe was nice and cold.

The food isn't bad - the best option for hot & tasty are their breakfast menu 😋

It's an average mcds but has some extra comfy sofas in the front with tables. Had a few glitches on their collection screens but is all in all a decent store

McDonald's was clean, service was good too. Plenty of parking space including disabled places.

Poor car park design which hampered parking and leaving. Made to queue outside while deliveroo/uber drivers walked straight in. Self service screens ran out of reciept roll, when customer next to me reported it a lad shrugged his shoulders and walked off. When finally served there was too much food for the bag. Asked for a larger bag and the girl on the counter rolled her eyes. Eventually got a bag where the food was covered. Awful resturant. Won't be back.

Worst service at the moment. Fries at totally disgusting Service staff are not accomodating and you will feel they forcing themselves to work. No paper receipt, so you need to memorise your order number (inconvenient) if you missed it you need to tell the staff what are the lists of your orders. Overall Worst service.

A horrible place! Probably the worst Mc'Donald's i've ever been to. Placed an order trough uber eats waited about an hour and a half for the food i called the driver and said the order is not ready i drove up there myself and the lady who was giving out orders(didn't catch her name) was extremely rude when i asked her how come my order is not ready she said that i should wait and that is not her problem so i left. I finally received my order after a long waiting time just to find ice cold food in the bag and a missing item which i paid for. I went back in the restaurant and i've told "It was probably the driver taking to long to get to you and how do we know you didn't eat the other item". Taking McDonalds from Luton rd 👍🏻

Very poor customer service and food is sometimes cold and needs re heating or warm and needs an hour in the freezer. There are other take out/dine in restaurants only a stones throw away. One is a little more expensive, but you get what you pay for.
